Another cute Hilda and Twig adventure 🥰 I love that we get to revisit this world!

October 5, 2025HILDA... już to pisałam... to jedna z moich ulubionych bohaterek komisowych. Poznałam ją wprawdzie nie w komiksie a w rewelacyjnej animacji - jednak zakochałam się w całokształcie i postaci i świata przedstawionego - stworzonego przez fenomenalnego: Luke Pearson. Niestety nie czytałam klasycznej HILDY, tylko oglądałam bajkę na podstawie komiksów i trochę mam nadzieję, że Kultura Gniewu kiedyś wyda HILDĘ z jej miejskimi przygodami.
Wracam już do HILDY I ROŻKA, czyli takiej trochę "podserii", w której wyszły niestety dopiero dwa tomy, ale liczę na więcej i więcej, bo to czysta, niczym nie skrępowana radość czytelnicza. TOM 2 PRZEBUDZENIE PANA ŚNIEGU jest nie tylko uroczą opowieścią, ale także bardzo mądrą i wzruszającą. Pearson nie zawodzi, tworzy pozornie proste historie i zawsze ozdabia je w piękne przesłanie. To komiks dla dzieci - oczywiście - ale ja go polecam każdemu. HILDA I ROŻEK, to treści uniwersalne, pełne przyjaźni, oddania, odwagi, pokory, umiejętności przyznawania się do błędów a ROŻEK jest bohaterem, o którym marzę w realu... takie tam dziecięce marzenia hihi.
To, co zawsze mnie oczarowuje, to kreska i kolory. Styl Luke'a jest niepowtarzalny, z moment łapie za serce każdego, kto lubi i ceni piękne, staranne obrazy. Linie są miękkie, łagodne, takie kojące, co sprawia, że zarówno krajobrazy, budynki jak i postaci są miłe, ciepłe, przyjazne. I oczywiście kolory! Absolutna rewelacja! Już pomijam bezbłędne włosy HILDY, ale no przecież tu wszystko jest na swoim miejscu i krzyczy życiem i energią. Barwy są intensywne, soczyste a przy tym w jakiś magiczny sposób nieprzytłaczające, kojące i w tym konkretnym tomie wspaniale jesienno-zimowe.
Nie da się przecenić tej pozycji, bo jest po prostu świetna. Każdy, kto szuka inspiracji i wzorowo rozrysowanej opowieści, ze sprawnie prowadzoną narracją i pięknymi ilustracjami powinien sięgnąć po te dzieła. Dla mnie to przykład nie tylko porządnie wykonanej pracy, ale i artystycznej wizji, która może posłużyć do budowania kolejnych mądrych, radosnych i ciepłych jak kocyk w zimowy wieczór historii. Bardzo POLECAM!

Fans de la série d'Hilda, mon fils et moi avons passé un super moment à découvrir cette nouvelle série de Luke Pearson.
Une BD douce et colorée dans la lignée de la série, qui fait la part belle à l'amitié, au folklore nordique et à la nature. J'aime toujours autant les personnages, l'esprit général, à la fois cocasse et humaniste, les créatures futées, les legendes qui prennent vie et les paysages d'hiver.
Une belle aventure tout à fait de saison qui donne envie de prolonger le séjour dans cette vallée pleine de trolls et de créatures des bois.
Si vos enfants ne connaissent pas Hilda, il faut leur offrir l'un de ses albums. L'ambiance générale, l'amitié omniprésente, les nombreuses aventures en pleine nature et le côté "merveilleux" en font une série à part, très attachante.

I love the Hilda series and got this as a Christmas present.
I'm guessing this takes place before Hilda and Twig move to Trollberg. It's cute seeing Hilda running and playing in the forest around her cabin with her giant friends. It's also cute how Twig tries to make things better for Hilda by getting it to snow. Of course, things don't go as planned, but friendship saves the day.
It's a cute continuation of the story with cute artwork.

Always excited for a new Hilda comic, and these new ones explore the time before Hilda moved to Trolberg and are undeniably cute. They're definitely aimed at a younger audience, and take advantage of the younger age of their heroine. But Luke Pearon's worldbuilding, imagination and palpable excitement for storytelling makes every moment reading a treat.

Not really sure on the new 'Hilda and Twig' branch of books so far. Hide From the Rain felt like a decent first volume but lacked the depth that I fell in love with Hilda for. Realistically, giving that a 4☆ was very generous, but it being the first Hilda comic I had the excitement of looking forward to definitely inflated that.
Wake the Ice Man follows in its footsteps, with yet another solid enough story, but again it feels very watered down. These Hilda and Twig volumes are much closer to Hilda and The Troll (the first volume of Hilda), but what I really liked was seeing Hilda develop over the volumes. The artstyle, the complexity of the characters, the emotional beats, all growing and slowly perfecting until reaching the back-to-back magnum opus that is Stone Forest and Mountain King.
And now we're back to the simplicity of the first volume.
Do these take place before Hilda moves to Trolberg? For me, the dichotomy of a rural kid living in an urban setting is what makes the series so fun, so to see it all be reigned back in is a tad unfortunate. Also, I said in my Hide from the Rain review that Twig having his own thought bubbles is cool. I now retract that, and think it's a bit... easy? I much prefer him communicating through expressions or through barks. There are many ways to have a mute character talk without just giving them a thought bubble.
Regardless, it is still a wholesome, cosy read and perfect for the winter vibes. My issues are less with the quality of the book itself, and moreso with the "Hilda and Twig" branch of books straying away from the reason I personally loved the original 6 comics and the show.

Wieder ein schönes Abenteuer mit Hilda, Hörnchen und dieses Mal auch Burku. Sehr passend zum aktuellen Wetter, geht es um Schnee - eine Menge Schnee! ❄️ 😱 Und dem Eismann.. ☃️ Hörnchen wollte Hilda nur eine kleine Freude machen, aber da hat er stattdessen doch etwas angestellt mit größeren Folgen.. doch Burku ist zur Stelle und hilft!
Auch mit dem zweiten Band der Reihe hatte ich viel Spaß. Wieder sehr schön gestaltet, toller Druck, angenehme Haptik und toller Reliefdruck! Ebenfalls für Jung und Alt ein schönes, kurzweiliges Leseerlebnis 🫶

Avec Le Réveil de l’Homme de glace, Luke Pearson nous offre une nouvelle aventure tendre et haletante du duo le plus attachant du pays des trolls : Hilda et Twig, son fidèle renard-cerf. Véritable ode à la nature, à l’amitié et au courage, ce second tome prolonge l’univers enchanteur et poétique de la série originale, tout en mettant cette fois Twig sous le feu des projecteurs.
Alors que la neige est annoncée, Hilda s’apprête à vivre une dernière journée de vacances magique avec son amie Burku, la jeune troll. Mais la poudreuse tarde à tomber, et la déception pointe son nez. C’est alors que Twig, animé d’une idée un peu trop audacieuse, décide d’aller réveiller l’Homme de glace, une créature mythique qu’il a repérée dans la montagne. Commence alors une course contre la montre où le courage et la solidarité seront les seules armes capables d’apaiser les forces du froid.

Son univers graphique, reconnaissable entre mille, mêle la douceur des paysages nordiques à une expressivité pleine de mouvement et de tendresse. Les planches regorgent de détails, les couleurs évoquent la chaleur des foyers et la beauté glacée des montagnes, tandis que les expressions de Twig et Hilda traduisent tout un éventail de sentiments – peur, émerveillement, fierté, et cette indéfectible amitié qui lie les deux héros.

Χωρίς καμία υπερβολή. Για του λόγου το αληθές, ο συγκεκριμένος τίτλος της Hilda, πρωταγωνίστριας της ομώνυμης σειράς στο Netflix, είναι μέρος της spin-off σειράς «Χίλντα και Τουίγκ», η οποία βραβεύτηκε το 2025 με βραβείο Eisner στην κατηγορία «Best Publication for Early Readers».
