She gathers her team—including Aaden—and tries to formulate a battle plan.
Yet being around him makes everything far more complicated. Pryor questions if
she has what it takes to tackle both evil and her love life. She also wonders why Aaden has gone from a kind Angel to a ruthless killer she barely recognizes. no, just no. this book is a shining example of why the doctors office has a poster saying 1 in 4 teen girls already has an std. and wtf- let's write a book for 14 year olds and have that chapter in there for what? eew. and gross. 14 dude? yucky. and don't get me started on the screw the world, I have to save my friend and then in the last half of book, well I guess I have to kill an innocent person if that's what the world needs. there is WAY better indie books out there. go find them. save yourselves.

Nothing works with this novel, and I wish there was a lower rating than 1/5 because it doesn't even deserve that. Sure, the cover is pretty, but you can slap a bow onto a pile of shit, it doesn't change the fact that it is still very much a pile of shit.

The book wasn't well written and the content was awful. I can't accept that every good review wasn't written by a teenager or friends/family of the author.

Does this thing have a less than 1 star rating?

About a tenth of the way through, I started joking with my husband about making a drinking game about each continuity error and paradox the author made. I'm currently a quarter through, and if I drank, I'd be dead of alcohol poisoning. I can't stop *laughing* as I read. Dig this shit, guys:

Amazing badass angel-kid (let's call her Mary Sue!) "fights with everyone" because she "has no friends and is miserable. Also she doesn't want to conform." What's she spend the rest of the book with? HER FRIENDS. And what does she do? Oh c'mon, guess! SHE CONFORMS. Stand up for herself? Nope. Mostly, she's a roving fashion reporter. And could we address the constant racism?

Or could we discuss the magical bracelet that shows up at about 1/4 of the way through but wasn't there back when she was, oh, say, saving humans from harm? Did she just forget she had it on? Or was it a last second idea without any development?

My eight year old literally dictated (parts) of a novel better than this.

I'm going back to reading just as soon as I visit the loo. I've laughed so hard I really need to pee.

Even that might be more entertaining than this. I might give up, but then again, rare is the book with enough humor to make me laugh this hard...

Please don't attempt to read this book. It might seriously only be salvageable in print if you could line a bird cage with it.

DNF. Well, I made it to 83% but can't do anymore. This could be a really great story with some revisions. The characters are way too young (14yo) for all the drinking, drugs and sex they have. And really, no young person reading is going to skip the chapter labeled mature. Just telling 14 year olds to skip to the next chapter because of mature content is going to ensure they read that one chapter over and over.

The Noru is a new series by Lola StVil and is a follow up to The Guardians (7 books in this series). The Noru are the children of The Guardians and are set up as a team to do as their parents did, protect Heaven from demons while keeping the humans clueless as to their existence. There is a tiny problem. The team is not a team. Pryor was supposed to be the leader. But she was scared and deserted her friends and teammates on the big day that would give them permission to fight evil. Silver, well, everyone thinks the demon side of him took over (everyone but Pryor) and he has disappeared. As for the rest of the gang, well yeah they are upset with Pryor and angry with Silver.
Pryor has an evil brother, who is trying to take over Hell now that Lucy is dead, and her parents are trapped in The Light with no way of getting to Earth to protect the children.
Will the team put their differences aside and fight this evil? Can they even find Silver and is he really lost to evil? And will they do whatever it takes to save Heaven and Earth, even if it means killing someone they love?

I was so excited to find out that this author was doing an extension to The Guardians. The Noru: Blue Rose is book 1 of this new series and it is so exciting. There are so many things to look forward to in the next book that I am on pins and needles with anticipation. The book is great. I am still crushed over Pryor’s baby brother being killed but gosh was this book awesome. I want Pryor to be my fave character because her mom was in The Guardians, but honestly, Silver is my favorite. I am ready for book 2!
You should read this book, especially if you are into angels and demons.

I had high hopes for this one.. but these kids... I can't. I thought I was listening to a comedy.. I don't think that's what this author was going for. The narrator just wasn't right.

It is a good book. I liked it but I don't have the feeling it stole my heart even though it has me very intrigued. I don't understand lot of things but those I do, got me thinking that people tend to suppose a lot of things on their own. This f**** judmental society its the worse.

To my lovely sister who didn't like the book I may say I have no clue why that happened, no matter how old you are this book is cool, perhaps for someone older is a light reading but it doesnt make it less interesting ... maybe you were not in the mood.

If you have a thing for fantasy paranormal this is a book for you. I wasn't aware that it's a spin off of the guardian series. The Girl . being the first and sadly only book I have read so far in the guardians series, only because I haven't the cash to purchase the books
:( ,yet, first is free*!* I love how the characters are the children from the guardian series*!* left with a serious cliff hanger. I can not wait to see what happens with the blue rose*read it,I don't do spoilers. Amazing read*!*

I am surprised this has so many low star reviews, I didn't think it was all that bad. In fact, I really liked it! This is a young adult book and I believe this is the first time that I have read anything by this author. I am very tempted to continue the series! I can see how some people rated it low by how Pry and Silver don't communicate the greatest (because I also find it frustrating) but I think it is just part of the characters. There is quite a bit of swearing and as it mentions, chapter 12 is for mature audiences only. Although, I don't quite know if that should have been mentioned because kids are going to read it regardless. I think the author should just put a general warning in the synopsis.

Exciting coming of age story. ☺️

Lola Stvil brought us a wonderfully told tale of a girl dealing with life and family, she shows us she's super brave and also a typical16 year old lol 😅 I could have done without the smut, its just not my thing, but it certainly doesn't take away from the story iny anyway. I probably won't continue this series, I'm 54 and not a fan of teen protagonist especially if they're having sex 😏😏 but despite my personal feelings this book is wonderfully written kudos to the author!

I loved this book! It is a bit inappropriate so i wouldn't exactly recommend this book to everyone.

The prelude of this series is "The Guardians," also written by Lola St.Vil. The Guardians were teenage angels who protected the Bridge (The bridge was a bridge that had two paths, Light and Darkness. When humans die, they are sent to the bridge to choose whether to go to the light or the darkness). There would be 6 teenage angels who protected the side of Light, making sure everything goes right, and vice versa, with Akons, or the guardians of the Dark side. The one rule all 12 guardians know: Do not help anyone go to wither path. Apparently, one of the first Guardians did not follow and fell in love with this one person that would always stand in between the Light and Dark, not knowing which side to choose. He helped her choose the Light and was banished into the human world. The new Guardians( and one Akon later on in that series), which are the mothers and fathers of the characters in The Noru series have to go and find the map to the bridge. If one side gets the map they can do whatever they want with the bridge. So they go on all of these adventures and at the end of the Guardian series, Emmy the human dies to help save the world. ( The offspring of Julian, the very first guardian who broke the rule) (this was also long after the map was discovered to be in her eyes and was very hard to take out without killing her) A new council is formed (Omnis is the creator and he has a council) and Emmy is chosen to be Death, one of the members because she did something so brave.

(Yes, that all happened before this series)

Now, the offspring of The Akon and the Guardians are in this new series are called Noru, because they are from the Guardians. They are very special because they are the offspring of the Guardians. A new evil, Malakro has risen with a new evil team, The Kasters. Crazy things are happening everywhere, humans are possesed and are jumping off buildings and roofs, and the Bridge (which allows Angels to get to Earth and back) is destroyed in a big fight between the Noru and other evils. In all this, Pryor's (the Noru leader) little brother dies, leaving her in great sadness and anger.

All this is happening, and they learn it is very important they kill the "Blue Rose decendant" and it happens to be Randy, the Noru leader's best friend. This ends the first book, with a very big cliffhanger.

I love this book because it mixes fantasy with romance and action.

The Noru: Blue Rose
This book was not recommended to me, but looked very interesting. The cover is what brought me to read the book because it is a face of an average redheaded girl. But when you read the book, that “normal” looking girl is actually a very powerful angel who was born to protect humans and the world from all evil. Overall, the book was exciting and brought me to the point that I would want to read the rest of The Guardian Series.
I enjoyed reading the book from the beginning to the end because it is the kind of book that would leave you hanging if you didn’t read on. There were many unexpected and sad moments throughout the book that made me love it more and more. There were even points when I didn’t want to stop reading because I was so focused on the words on a screen. Since I felt the book did not lack anything in my opinion, I have no reason to say that the book failed me in any way.
The main character is named Pryor; she is the leader of the Noru. Her father was the first guardian and her mother is Death, so she is considered as the leader. Pryor is a powerful, but emotionally weak angel. She has the strength to fight off an evil force, but not the strength to say I love you. This character is what made me continue reading the book because she was continuously doing things that the old her would never do. Pryor was changing. The author used symbolic phrases that were very true in my point of view. For example, “He was beginning to understand that evil is not absolute, and that good is often an occasion more than a condition” (Parker 58%). This is a quote that the author referred to because after an incident Pryor began to question the meaning of being good, Aaden Case (fellow Noru) did and said what he could to calm her down and let her recharge.
Truthfully, I am a person who hates to read. Let alone be interested in reading a book filled with angels and demons. After reading The Noru , I was glad I read it. I was happy, angry, upset and felt all types of things while reading certain sections of the book. Some people may say it was a sad or annoying book, but I most definitely rate it a 5 out of 5 stars because I feel no need to change me feeling towards the book.

To be fair, I started reading this book thinking that it was an "adult" romance. Well, I quickly became aware that this is a book for young adults/teens. It does involve some romance, and there is one chapter that wades into more "adult" relations. However, overall, it remains "PG". The story begins a series focused on the children of Angels and other supernatural beings and in particular a small group of very special and very powerful offspring lead by a pubescent and turbulent young female. The writing isn't awful, but definitely needs more fine-tuning. The basis of the plot is interesting, but is also a little disturbing. It breaks all the perfect images of Angelic beings, and instead gives us creatures who are only too human with secrets, frailties, and moral dilemmas of their own. They battle with all the emotions of any imperfect human. Therefore, I had a hard time thinking of them as "Angels", but really were more like super-heroes. The characters were a little too young and immature for my tastes. Not for me, but might recommend to my daughter and her friends.

I will admit that I only got about half way through this book before I gave up on it. I feel bad about admitting that but I just could not get into this book. I tried, really I did.

The idea of the story had a lot of potential. It is about a 14 year old girl named Pryor (Pry) who is an Angel. She lives on earth with her Angel parents pretending to be human. One day she finds out that her best friend Randy is destined to die so she decides she is going to get all of her Angel friends, who she abandoned to go live as a human, to help her save Randy.

My main problem and what made me stop reading is the fact that Pry is 14 years old but she in no way shape or form acts like it. Seriously, while reading I kept having to remind myself that she was 14. She and the other teens of the story act like they are 20 somethings. I think if the author had raised their ages and made this into a New Adult story rather than a YA, it would have flowed a lot better.

A book about angels, demons and the war against the new evil is an interesting premise, but this novel really didn't do it for me. Perhaps is the characters weren't so obviously the stereotypes they were intended to be, the story may have been an easier read. The plot was decent, but this entire book could have been written from a template of the standard teenage supernatural romance.

My immortal

"Hi my name is Ebony Dark'ness Dementia Raven Way and Ihave long ebony black hair (that's how I got my name) with purple streaks and red tips that reaches my mid-back and icy blue eyes like limpid tears and a lot of people tell me Ilook like Amy Lee."

Blue Rose was clearly written by a 14 year old. This is fanfic writing.

This book is problematic. The premise is interesting, the MFC is 14, but subject matters are too old and the mature content is inappropriate for that age, continuity issues and errors, etc. numberous. I may read the next book as I was told it improves, but I am not sure.

*SPOILERS WILL BE HEARD HERE!!!!!!!!!!!!*
So, I'm REALLY nice, to the point of unrealistic, in giving this book two stars. The more I think about it, the more I think about changing it to one. I started this book thinking, "Oh, this'll be good. And it's free to download. That's a plus." How wrong I was. The characters are dull and make you want to pull your hair out. Their relations with each other make you want to pound your head into a wall.
Ok, so, we have the main character, our whiny little 14-year-old, Pryor (Pry) Cane. She's always in trouble, and is a spoiled brat, who just so happens to be the most powerful of angelkind. Well, that's just great. Did I mention she's the youngest of the Noru, the super powerful children of the Guardians? She OBVIOUSLY can't handle responsibility, yet everyone constantly looks to her like she can. She got rejected by a guy in her team, probably around six months to a years ago, who happens to be, you know, at LEAST three years older. She learns that her human best friend HAS to die, can see how obviously torn up her mother (the Angel of Death) is about having to take his life, yet still throws a fit, blames her mom, and decides to try to find a way to weasel out of it. Great gal, right?
Next, we have her gorgeous angel friend, Keyohmi (Key). Who happens to have the power heal AND rip apart demons in such as way as to earn herself the nickname, the Artist. Makes sense? I didn't think so. She's also dating this guy in their team, and has been for years. Her character is...honestly ok. At least, I don't remember it enough to say that hers was a terribly written character.
Now we have Bex. Big, burly, bossy Bex. Key's boyfriend. Bitter at Pry for leaving the team...or is he? Maybe it's more that he's bitter for her leaving him? Him being, I believe, the oldest out of the bunch. An angel prince to a certain sect of angels, he just seems like a dick. And then you add in his confusing feelings about Pry, which leads him and Key to try to desert the group because Key is confused about what is happening and wants to strengthen her relationship with him again...which she is unable to do because Pry refuses to let her.
Swoop, Key's twin sister, has a name, but's it's used so rarely that it has no need to be put here. Her claim to fame is...speed. So exciting (no offense meant to those Flash fans out there). She's a party animal more concerned with fun than her own well being. A bit of a whore? Perhaps. She's hyper and out there. That's about all we learn about her.
Then there's Easton, a human turned angel. He's a sweet cutie with a whip thing for his power. That's about all we learn about him
Last, Aaden. Love of Pry's life, and the one that shot her out of the sky. For what reason? No one really knows. See, he's shrouded in the mystery of some secret torture place, and supposedly did something bad...or something. I don't know. He's supposed to be this mysterious heartthrob, but in reality, he's just some stupid drama queen. Sure, you had crap happen to you. Who cares? There's things WAY bigger than you happening. TRUST IS KEY! HELLO?? DUH! *facepalm* Oh, and he has something in him that's causing his chest to crack or something. And it has to do with the secret torture place. Oh, and he's head over heels for Pry.
Now that we know how crappy the characters are, let's move on to the story itself. I don't know whether this chick was drunk, high, on acid, I just don't know. It's awful. These super powerful kids are running around, trying to save this ONE human, causing more harm than good, they know this, yet they keep doing it. They're all mad at Pryor for leaving them so they couldn't become an official group, yet they follow her like it's nothing. I'm getting a headache just typing this. They trap their parents in the light, Pryor learns her little brother was killed and almost kills a ton of humans, Pryor learns her previously unknown of older brother is this new super evil, we learn Aaden was involved with one of the now Noru hunters and that she fell hard for him, Aaden and Pry learn they love each other but Aaden, of course, can't act on it, Aaden has Pry used as blackmail/a bargaining chip, turns out Randy, the human, has to die because he WILL somehow bring about the end of literally everything. That's the important part of the story. Mostly in order. I can't put into words how lame it is. There are too many questions left unanswered that are hinted at that just frustrate you and make you angry.
This book was just bad. Don't read it. By the way, I've decided to change this down to one star.

There are many things I like about this book. First, the fantastic cover -it's really beautiful and drew me to the book with enough interest that I decided to read it. I have never read a paranormal, angels vs. demons book before, and I have to say I really enjoyed this one. It is non-stop action with interesting characters.

I thought, at first, that the characters were a bit older than they actually are. I don't really think this should be considered as a novel for teen readers, as most of the subject matter I would not want my young teen to be reading - there is sex, drinking, violence, rape. If the characters were older, at least 18, then everything in this story would make more sense. A 14 yr old girl generally should not be considered as a leader of anything except maybe an afterschool club.

Overall, I liked the story, and will probably read more in this series. I think the writing is good, for the most part, and the premise is a good one, just wish the characters were a bit older.

The "Blue Rose" is a spin off of the Guardian series, a story of the children of the Guardians who, because of who their parents are, are more powerful than normal children.

The kids in this series are supposed to be about 14 but really act about 17ish. I want to say that the author made the kids 14 but portrayed them as younger as the Norus (name given to the Guardians children) age much faster. Sam being only 4 was still a kid but far above any normal level of intelligence.

They are stranded on earth while all the adults are stuck in the "Light" and have to take on the new evil along with trying to save Pryor's human friend Randy. The story was interesting enough and had a couple of twists that kept it going. Very much in the style of the Guardians series which I also enjoyed.

Overall I think if you enjoyed the Guardian series you would like this one as well.

I'd have given this 2 stars due to the too-adult nature of the book and the supposed youngsters in it. Messed up as hell! But I enjoyed myself when I suspended the fact that these individuals were 14 and 15 years old and so it's a 3 (I would have been too disgusted otherwise to go on). So it would have been 4 stars if the age was more appropriate considering the crap that goes on in here. What are you teaching the youngsters who read these books??? Sexual awareness and world savviness is one thing, promiscuity and flagrant alcohol and drug abuse is another.
Not for young adults at all, but I (an adult ignoring the messedupness) was entertained.
