Masquerade
Lyric Matthews is a woman who has been through more heartache than any one person should ever know. After her last devastating blow, dealt by her ex fiancé, Lyric decided that enough was enough. She was done with the relationship thing. In fact, she was done with men period. Which is why she has been celibate for the last two years. Figuring that she's just better off alone, Lyric becomes emotionally unavailable. She just wants to be left alone. So when she's offered a chance to get away for a week of sun and relaxation, she is extremely hesitant to take it. But after being coerced, by her sister and best friend, she goes against her better judgment and sets out to the beautiful island of Barbados.
Her first day on the island, Lyric realizes that she probably should have followed her first instinct and stayed at home. Especially when she meets, Omari. A man who to her great displeasure, is kicking up a whirlwind of emotions inside of her. Confused and conflicted, Lyric's not sure of anything, except that after this week she will never be the same again.
Omari Alleyne, is the easy going, laid back type that can get along with almost anyone. But when chance throws him together with a controlling, unyielding, stubborn, Lyric, he's not sure even he can handle her attitude. On vacation, fleeing from his own issues back in L.A., Omari doesn't need any more drama in his life. But there's something about Lyric that he just can't shake. She puts up a tough front for the world, but Omari can see that, that's nothing but an act. The more time he spends in her presence the more intrigued he becomes. Looking for a way to break through her wall and get her to let down her guard, he makes her an offer that she really should refuse.

Loved It!!!!
Loved It!!!!
This was the first book that I've read by this author and it was so good!!! Lyric was still feeling the hurt from a past relationship that she always had her defenses up. She meets Omari on a trip and you could see the chemistry was immediate. The more time they spent together the more she let her defenses down. I loved this book and the chemistry was HOT between them. I can't wait to see what is going to happen next.

Masquerade is the story of Lyric and Omari, a couple who met while on a retreat in Barbados.
Lyric is jaded after going through one failed relationship after another; the last one seemingly having done almost irreparable damage. She is not interested in pursuing another relationship and basically does not want to be bothered with men in general.
Omari is a sexy islander who has been going through some relationship trouble himself; having been harassed by his last girlfriend. He is not afraid of love and is ready to embrace a new relationship with the right woman.
Omari is just who Lyric needs to break through her brick wall and help her embrace her sensuality and open her heart to love again. Their romance is somewhat of a world wind but the chemistry and passion can be felt jumping off the pages.
We also get a glimpse into the budding romance of Ericka and Jamie. Ericka is one of Lyric's best friends who accompanied her on the trip. Jamie is Omari's best friend. Although their story was introduced, it didn't take over the main story. I'm truly grateful for that because I generally do not like reading about 2 different stories in one book.
I'm very much looking forward to the next installment and seeing where things go from here with Lyric and Omari. I found myself completely captivated by these characters. I'm not even mad that there was not a conclusion. Their relationship is so complicated and deep, a part 2 is definitely needed.

A Sexescape humm!
Masquerade was an interesting read. It started with friends having drinks talking about Lyrics boring life. I must admit she had a razor sharp tongue. So Lyric was given the trip by one of her friends boyfriend.. There's something else to that story. Anyway.. The trip was to Barbados for a gala at the resort. Lyric invited her vixen friend Ericka to go. On the same island were two fine as wine brothers from the island attending the same event at the resort. It turns out the trip was a singles sex escape....Whaaat!!! I'll admit the story was moving rather slowly even after the Omari and Jamie paired with Lyric and Ericka. Thankfully once Omari finally climbed in and over the gynormous wall Lyric had erected, the story was sexy steamy. The love scenes were vividly described. The ending was a bomber, but overall it was a nice read..

As much as I love this authors work and the name Lyric, I couldn't stand her at first. Oh it took me awhile to finish this book. I loved O from the beginning to the end. He seen something in her nobody could and the made is it all worth it.

This is the first book I've read by Amber Nichole and I am now a fan. WOW, this was a great, well written love story. I love the banter between the Lyric and Omari. The sex scenes were HOT. I'm looking forward to reading more of her books.

Great book
hate that it ended like it did. I'm looking forward to part 2. impatiently waiting. chemistry was off the charts. there's only one knock I can give this book. wish she would have told more of Jamie and Erica story.
