From the moment I saw Ashlynn, I knew she was mine. Didn’t matter that she had a ring on her finger or a man standin' next to her—she belonged to me, and deep down, she knew it too. I wasn’t about to play fair or fall back, not when somethin' that real was right in front of me. So I did what any n*gga would do for the woman meant to be his—I applied pressure until she had no choice but to see what we were.
☆☆☆☆☆ ——- ⇰ This was such a good read! I love insta-love stories and this one did not disappoint me. I felt the chemistry between Ash and Hue through the pages! This book reminds you to never settle and always live your life for you and you only. This one was a really quick read and it kept me entertained to read in one sitting. ⇰ Hue played no games! He knew what he wanted and went for it and I can’t be mad at him. He is definitely going down as one of my favorite book baes. He was so gentle and patient with Ashlynn. ⇰ Ash was a boss babe and I loved how she came into her realization of what her happiness truly was. ——- ❀☄︎ Tropes ❀☄︎ ⇰ Insta-Love ⇰ FMC Engaged ⇰ Reformed Street Thug to Business Man ⇰ Short Chapters ⇰ Secret Relationship
This was an amazing read. Hunny if Mr. Steal Yo Girl had a name it would be Hue. I love a man that knows what he wants and goes after it in the only way he knows how without it being too much. My girl Ashlynn was a goner from the engagement party because she went seeking information and it was down hill from there.. i loved Hue and Ash together it was the tension, the angst and the chemistry for me. I can’t wait for what’s next
I absolutely enjoyed this read from beginning to end. And Hue…..my goodness…LOVE HIM ❤️🥰😍 There was nothing I didn’t like about this book. 5⭐️s Huey x Ashlynn 💕
What do you do when you see the love of your life and she is engaged to someone who doesn't truly see her?
Apply Pressure,of course!!
This is a cute book following Hue and Ash. Hue sees that Ash isn't happy in the relationship and he always goes after what he wants. She just doesn't know that she wants him yet. He dates her and shows her that she can truly be herself with him, but will it be enough?
I loved this story although I felt the ending was off to me. I wish that she would have dealt with her engagement differently. This was considered a short read for me but it was still cute and entertaining.
The message from this book is to make sure you live for yourself and not others. You have to be happy as yourself and not try to change for others. I believe this is my first book by the author and I loved it.
I'm a sucker for the Imagine chilling at your engagement party all meh when a fine dude walks in, steals your attention, does a toast telling the groom-to-be that if he isn't careful someone may just snatch his girl AND dropping
“Off-limits? Nah. It just means I gotta work a lil' harder. I don’t mind the challenge, beautiful.”
I love me a good "I got a man/What does that got to do with me" trope 🥰
Hue was audacious but a gentleman and he really went after his girl Ashlynn. This is a cheating trope book. So consider that but it's also a sweet Contemporary Black Romance
Y’all, I have seen the light! I was deep in a reading slump, struggling to find something that truly hooked me, and then my TikTok FYP came through with a recommendation for Forever Mine by Tasha Marie. Let me tell you—I cracked open my iPad mini, got a few pages in, and immediately knew. This novella was about to save me.
The pacing? Perfect, Not a single dull moment. And let’s talk about Hue… whew, book bae status secured. This man was determined. Ashlynn might’ve been engaged to Bryan, but did that stop Hue? Absolutely not. He knew she was meant to be his, and he made sure she knew it too. The way he claimed her? Yeah, I was eating it up.
It’s a quick, fun, and addictive read that had me grinning the whole time. Tasha Marie, girl, you did that. If you need a fast-paced, swoon-worthy escape, Forever Mine is the move.
It’s something magical about the ability to go on the journey that a creator of romance crafts for you. I just give in to the fantasy! These two were so cute. I love the love and promise of forever. This is a forbidden love trope I wish it were longer. But it not, so it was a good read.
This was such a cute read and straight to the point… Hue made Ashlynn feel alive and made her feel seen. Hue put the right amount of pressure but also gave her space when it was needed. I was scared for a minute lol but it all worked out. I love a good love story ❤️
This book was a first from this author and I didn't hate it, but something about it kept me from loving it too. For starters it was a slow burn with a crashout, which is kinda like an oxymoron. From day one Hue tried to apply an unrealistic amount of pressure on Ash who he met at her own engagement party, so he knew she was in a relationship. Only to then try to "court" her in the middle of the night during bootycall hours, only to initially reject her advances when she actually tried to put it on him. This went on for most of the book then the last 25 minutes or so multiple things happened at the speed of light. The cadence was off and although the epilouge shows them months later, I still feel like this story was unfinished and it wasn't easy for me to connect with these characters. Another thing I noticed was the way that the author described Hue was nothing like the cover art- so I felt like I was reading about someone else, making it once again less easy for me to connect.
This was an okay story. I don't know how, but I loved the characters individually. However, the plot could’ve been stronger. This is my first book by this author, and I would be interested in reading her again.
I read the synopsis, said “ooh this finna be messy”, and immediately downloaded this book. It wasn’t messy like I thought it was going to be (drama), but it was messy in the way that you’d expect it to be when someone is torn between two people. And despite “Forever Mine” containing infidelity, it’s so mf cute.
Hue was that 🥷🏾 and went after what he wanted. Hue was very direct/straightforward but also very reasonable and understanding, which lowkey surprised me. I’m used to reading about direct/straightforward 🥷🏾s who just don’t give a damn and want what they want when they want it, so this was a nice change.
Ashlynn was such a people-pleasing sweetheart. She also had this air of innocence to her (my girl wasn’t so innocent when she was with Hue though 😏). I absolutely loved that Hue encouraged her to do things for herself and her happiness.
This was the first book I’ve read by Thee Tasha Marie and won’t be the last.
Side note: When it was mentioned that Hue drives a 2025 Ford Excursion, I was thrown out of the story for a little bit. That model hasn’t existed in years, so I was like “girl what?” Lol. I was able to get back into the story though.
oh to feel loved and seen by everyone around you especially your man, hue stood on business when it came to seeing ash and showing up for her without her having to ask and it had me cheesing the whole time. i normally don’t like the cheating trope but i feel like this was written right and this situation was so real and many people can relate to staying with someone they aren’t in love with out of obligation to that person, their family and making people happy making themselves miserable instead of choosing themselves. bryan was inconsiderate he cared more about his career and his wants than her cared about ash, he didn’t take her feelings or concerns into consideration when it came to some of the wedding planning or moving to atl for his career, i definitely didn’t like when he tried to downplay her work or her being a business owner him saying “you think you a big boss” threw me all the way off especially after she told him that he doesn’t see her like that made it worse. the heart to heart between ash and her dad when he realized she wasn’t happy was everything, he gave her the push and reassurance she needed to live for herself and choose herself.
This is really a good book that held me captive from page to page. Hue fell in love with Ash the moment that he saw her which just so happened to be at her engagement party to another man. Bryan was really a punk because he should’ve shut Hue down when he was making his toast basically telling Bryan that he was coming for Ash but evidently it went over Bryan’s head. Ash worked my nerves being in her 30’s and being a people pleaser while being suffocatingly unhappy. Hue was who and what Ash needed to speak her truths and be the best Ash for Ash. I like the fact that they had a baby girl at the end but I wanted to know what they named her. I hate hate hate that the author won’t use “gótdâmn” in her writings.
I finished Forever Mine in just one day—it was that entertaining! The storyline was engaging, and the pacing kept me hooked from start to finish. I do wish it had been a bit longer because I wasn’t ready for it to end!
That said, while I enjoyed the romance, it did feel a little predictable at times. My biggest issue was the way the relationship started—stealing someone else’s fiance and beginning with cheating didn’t sit right with me. The justification that “God knew she was for him” didn’t align with how I believe God would want that situation handled. That aspect made it hard for me to fully root for the couple.
Still, it was a cute story, and I enjoyed the journey. If you’re looking for a quick, engaging romance, this one is worth the read!

4.5 ⭐️“Off limits nah, it just means I have to work a little harder.” Hue was captivated by Ash from the first time he saw her. Applied pressure, respectfully was an understatement! Hue let it be known that he wanted Ash, regardless if she was engaged or not lol. Ash, had to make a decision- live my life to the beat of what others want/expect of me OR live in her truth, her authentic self. The choice has always been hers, she just needed the awareness to be bold to LIVE for herself. “You should want love., just not stability and comfort.” Ash finally chose herself and what she wanted!
If Mr. Steal Your girl were a person, baby, Hue is him. Hue came in and flipped Ashlynn's world upside down in the most beautiful of ways. (Sorry Bryan)
If you are looking for high drama, a bunch of toxicity, or raunchiness, this may not be for you.
I highly recommend reading if you love stories with the FMC being loved and "loved"(🌶) throughly and properly physically, emotionally, and mentally..
The way Hue claimed, uplifted, supported, encouraged, and loved Ashlynn was perfection.
The way Ashlynn finally decided to live for her was perfection.
He Got His Woman!! Hue didn’t even want to go to the engagement party. He was forced by Quinn who knows him better than anyone. Then he saw her( I mean really saw her) for what and who she really. He had all the confidence and charm. Ash is trying to please everyone else she forgot about herself in the process. Bryan really didn’t care about her feelings and need for her business, he only cared about himself. So she snuck around with Hue because he saw her and not who she pretended to be. Hue made her feel alive. Ash broke off her engagement and decided where she wanted to be. They got married and had their baby girl
I was really hopeful with this book, given the booktok reviews but it unfortunately didn’t match the hype for me. The story had so much potential for more,I feel like at some point the story was rushed and we didn’t really get to see substantial development of Hue and Ashley’s characters . Therefore, their relationship felt a bit shallow. Also, I wish there was more to Ashley’s story, especially after leaving her long term relationship and choosing herself, that was a missed mark in my opinion. It felt like there was no show of growth as she just moved on to another relationship. Overall, the storyline was good but I wish it was executed differently.
There is no reason to cheat if the person you are with isn’t working for you be an adult and leave, but I read this book thinking that the guy she was going to be cheating on was a piece of shit. Like there is still no reason to cheat, but at least I would feel better about the cheating, but this girl cheated on a good guy. Just because his goals and wants were different from hers does not make him a bad guy and she just hurt this guy because she didn’t know how to stand up on her own two feet…..at THIRTY! Crazy!!
I don’t like cheaters, but if you’re going to cheat make sure you cheat on a piece of shit. Bryan was not that.
I think I have been reading too many high conflict, forced proximity, trading women for a debt type books. This was just an OK read and was a great filler book to give me a break from some of the longer reads. From beginning to end, the book was straight to the point with a predictably sweet ending. I would not discourage reading this, but I don’t want you to go into it with super high expectations and thinking that you’re going to get deep character development and surprising twist and turns. I do love this author and will be reading more from her soon.
