Against all odds, Shannon Hunter, the Lady White Leaves, has vanquished the interminable Powers that be, and spared Mankind total genocide at the hands of the elves…
Yet the Cataclysm brought on by the Elvine proved unstoppable. The world has awakened to a potential utopia, and the Tree of Life has charged Shannon with the impossible task of achieving world peace.
But the Tree is changing; true Demons are rising as a new bough bearing Blighted Leaves arises; and a sect of Men has returned from the forgotten annals of history to resurrect the E.L.F. banner and dethrone the Elvine.
An unending Faewar looms on the horizon. Peace never comes without a price. Sometimes the cost may be all that we cherish. Sometimes it is the one we love. And to fight for it…is to be alone.
M.P. Ness, born April 15th (1982) shares his birthday with the infamous Leonardo DaVinci, and seems to own perhaps a fair share of the creative spirit and ability for which the old world master was known. M.P. is a classically and commercially trained visual artist and writer/screenwriter, and sometime musician, with hopes of ultimately making his stories into blockbuster films, and/or animations. He attended the Art Institute of Seattle toward a bachelor's in animation arts. He loves all things artistic, though admittedly with a heavy lean toward fantasy. He lives in Seattle, Washington, USA, by which coincidence he was inspired to write his debut novel series, E.L.F.
Another top notch book in Ness' E.L.F. series. The Cataclysm had occurred and with it came the awakening of the Blighted leaves. Will humankind and the Elvine among others be able to survive the onslaught of the Blighted Leaves? The survivors of E.L.F. also have it in for the Elvine when they pair up with the Gray Leaves. It is a must read if you want to know how it all turns out.
It took me much longer to read than usual due to the holidays and was not an indication of how good or bad this particular book was. I used every spare moment I had to read it even while waiting for my son when I picked him up from school.
