it's astounding how much contempt joachim masannek seems to harbor for people that are not like him, meaning literal teenage girls, poc of any kind, homeless people but also rich people for some reason, and fat people. also, why are you, a grown-ass man, writing a soccer team of 12- to 15-year-old teenage girls playing in tiny mini skirts and crop tops, like dude, that's so weird.
i still sort of love this, just because this is the first time that the kids leave their safe haven. this is not their biggest adventure, but it sort of feels like it, just because of the scale. i kinda like that the author was just like, hey fuck realism, i'm gonna have them sleep in a secret lair that consists of tents in the trees that you can only get to if you dance the foxtrott, and they'll fend off a storm by saying a bunch of their stupid made-up curse words, and that's sort of fire! i don't want realism, i want a gang of female himbos that live in an old mine, wear bike chains as necklaces, dance to britney spears and eat wine gums for dinner. hell yeah!
also, i totally forgot that the match actually ends as a draw in the book, fuck the movie for changing that honestly.
