I hate giving 1 star, but I personally had to for this. I had about 2 hours left in the book and had already felt like I had to stop about a dozen times. I really didn't like the FMC, or the writing style. For me, the spice was super cringy. I listened to an hour more at 2x speed and ended up not even finishing the book.
It gets two because it made my laugh at the spicy parts. But I do not recommended this book. Never read a book that uses the proper body parts instead in raunchy terms for the spicy scenes. lol
This book has so much potential but failed so much. The story is your basic contemporary romance, he's her bodyguard, they have forced proximity, start sleeping together, he risks his life for her, they get married, have a baby. Nothing amazing but then nothing terrible.
Here's where it falls short. I do not want to read anotomically correct terms during a spice scenes. It just gives me the ick. I can't explain why but it's just wrong.
Massive shout out to J. Tipston because my goodness he's one hell of a narrator.
I definitely wouldn't recommend but I will be seeking out more books with the same narrator.

Man this one was a struggle to finish. At first I enjoyed the Mob love story but, all the sexual content made me blush so much that I thought I would burst into flames. I don't mind sex in my books but man this was like a porno with how graphic it was. And the male audiobook reader made it sound like he was struggling to read the book while making it sound like he was...'busying' himself during the reading.
I couldn't recommend this book to anyone as it is just too smutty and not at all what I thought it would be. I wouldn't have finished it if I wasn't determined to count it in my total books I have read this year.
Oh wow... This felt like a rough draft. There was no actual connection built between the main characters. I didn't believe they were really building a relationship. The dirty talk felt off and gave me secondhand embarrassment. I know it's a novella but where is the buildup, how are they forming these bonds. It's just lust at first sight I guess. Also, the two MCs don't have a distinct voice. They both use the same phrases and basically parrot each other back and forth. Definitely not for me. It has potential, it's just not there yet.

First of I'm sorry if this comment may offend some people. I don't judge what you like if you do like this.Pleas take note this is only my opinion.
no....
their relationship was cute, yeah... but the stuff he said. like when he though she was licking it like a lollipop and calling her a slut?.
"my good bad girl".... no.
and the plot wasn't good in my eyes. not to mention this was super super fast paced when it comes to their relationship. not that their is a problem with that is just didn't work.
2 ⭐️ DNF’d at 30%. The beginning was alright, but too fast paced and what feels like random ‘conflict’. I mean pls why is he dancing and already declaring he’ll put her life before his own? And why did she decide ‘if my brother doesn’t like him for me, he must be a bad guy’ after said dancing and declaration?? Definitely easy to follow along with, more of a rot book after a hard day and you don’t want to think with any criticality than anything
This might be the worst book I have ever read. It tried to give slow burn but failed in every possible way. Hated all the characters. The plot didn’t make sense. The smut was just… I don’t know how to describe it because this book has robbed me off all cognitive abilities.
