Fake dating her gay best friend to avoid the man of her dreams should be a piece of cake…right?
Zoya Mikhail I was not supposed to fall for my sister's hot guitarist, Jareth Grayson. I wasn't supposed to kiss him, either.
But mistakes were made.
Asking my gay best friend to pose as my boyfriend at my sister's wedding is an act of desperation meant to keep me out of Jareth's arms.
Until it fails spectacularly.
My bestie is MIA as soon as we land, and I'm pretty sure Jareth is stalking me. It's the only explanation for why I keep ending up in his arms.
He's a rockstar with a vineyard to run. I'm still in grad school, half a country away. This is never going to work. But God help me, I don't want it to end, either.
Jareth Grayson The woman of my dreams skipping town after I kissed her? Brutal.
Finding out that she has a boyfriend? Ouch.
Watching her boyfriend dote on her at my family's vineyard? Oh, hell no.
Zoya Mikhail is mine. She can pretend she's in love with another man all she wants, but I know better. I see the way she looks at me like she's dying for another taste. She's wild about me, and she knows it.
As soon as I find out why she's lying to herself, I intend to put a stop to it.
In the meantime, I'll be putting my hands on her curvy little body as often as necessary to remind her where she belongs. Right here with me.
Whiskey Promises is a spicy small-town romance featuring a possessive alpha hero, a reluctant-to-love heroine, a merry band of interfering cousins, and a whole lot of banter.
About the Series These alphas know a thing or two about running an empire. They've been managing the most profitable alcohol venture in California for years. But it hasn't left time for the things that matter--like love.
Until now.
Happily-ever-after (and hilarity) strikes exactly when fate intends for Wine Country's Most Eligible when a group of fiery women turn their lives upside down and prove there's no time like now to fall.
But it'll take a lot of convincing (and a whole lot of heat) to get these curvy women on the same page in this spicy small-town series.
Wine Country Alphas is a second-generation Her Alpha series, and each book can be read as a standalone title.
Four-time award-winning author Nichole Rose writes deliciously dirty rom-coms, sports, and small-town romance, featuring relatable curvy women and the devoted alpha men who can't live without them. From obsessed billionaires to over-the-top hockey players to the firefighter next door, no one is safe from the hilarious, sassy women she sets loose on the world. She loves delivering relatable characters, hilarious banter, and enough heat to make you squirm.
Nichole also writes dark romance as Nichole Fallon.
When not writing, Nichole enjoys fine wine, cute shoes, and everything supernatural. She is happily married to the love of her life and is a proud ringleader in the world’s most ridiculous chihuahua circus. She and her husband live in central Arkansas.
My rating is solely for Jareth. This guy's patience and understanding are unparalleled. I don't think there are many fictional characters who would persevere the way he did. I'm a real person, and I know I won't. 🤷♀️
It's so obvious that Zoya's too young, and her immaturity when dealing with things really showed here. The running away and avoidance antics were fun in the beginning but lost their appeal after quite some time. She has to give something at some point, and all she ever did was mostly let her fears lead her life and choices. Sure, she finally came around, but that happened around the 85% mark, which is too freaking late for me. Idk how Jareth lasted chasing her, but apparently he did.
Anyway, the MMC made this story entertaining. But I think I would've enjoyed it more if Zoya didn't take forever to finally admit her feelings and if she didn't push away Jareth for a long time.
Book info: - Novella - Insta-love - Strangers to lovers - Slowburn - No cheating, OM/OW - Separation (4 mos after the prologue) - Dual V! - HEA (5 yrs later, married and with kids)
DUAL VIRGINS! This makes me hopeful that Nichole Rose will be giving us first timers, one true love couples again with this series.
Safe No cheating No OW Fake OM (Connor is the h's gay friend posing as her fake boyfriend) 3 month separation plus a couple weeks separation No gross condom use No stupid third act break up Light funny rom-com H unrelenting pursuer, h pushes away (a bit too much) H rock star/winery owner, h university student/wanting to rescue animals HEA
This is the story of Jareth and Zoya. They are the second generation of couples NR wrote years ago (which in hindsight I don't care for either because both heroes were experienced, but the hero who is important is Jareth and I love him). Jareth is a rock star guitarist, larger than life and also part owner of a winery. Zoya is about to graduate college and wants to start her own animal sanctuary, but she lives on the other side of the country. They meet after a concert he and her sister played in and he cannot help but kiss her, only for her walls to go up and lie that she has a boyfriend only to then disappear for three months. Cut to three months later, and she is here for her sister Nadia and Nadia's fiance Theos wedding. Nadia is the singer in the H's rock group and both her and Theo have been together since they were little kids. They will be getting their own story. Zoya is afraid of love, since she doesn't want to be heartbroken and hurting, so she avoids it at all costs, and this fear heightened when she sees Jareth stare at her with a knowing smirk on his face. She has her gay best friend Connor who she asks to be her fake boyfriend in order to shield her from Jareth, but little does she know that Jareth is stubborn and goes after the only woman he has ever wanted; Zoya. She is afraid because she is convinced that because he is a rock star, he must have had a lot of girls, and she does not want to be just another notch on his bedpost. Besides her feelings are incredibly strong hence why she came up with this really stupid web of lies. Unbeknownst to her, Jareth is all hers in all ways, and that just made my heart soar! Jareth is unrelenting, dominating, sweet, attentive, honest, devoted, understanding, determined and romantic which makes for an incredible hero. Zoya is funny, a tornado of sass, small but mighty as well as feisty but inside she is afraid of getting her heart broken and although she regrets starting this web of lies with having a fake boyfriend, she gives into love fully in the end, but not before hissing and scampering away like a scared kitten. She runs so he chases and catches her. She pushes away, so he tightens his arms around her gazing at her with an intensity only a man madly in love can give, silently communicating to her that he will never let her go. He understands that she needs reassurance, to know that when she looks around, he will never be far. She needs for her man to show her that he will never leave, he will always be near her, and his love for her will never weaken. I loved this of course because it is dual virgins, but what made my heart happy is that we have a hero who waited to give his body as well as his heart to one woman. THAT is the heart of romance and it made my hopelessly romantic heart happy!
Quote,(Jareth's status), "You going to let me taste you, Zoya?" I meet his gaze in the moonlight, my eyes wide, startled. "I…I've never…" "Me either." He jiggles his thumb on my clit. "But I've had your taste in the back of my throat all day. I want more." "Yes," I whisper, believing him. He isn't who I thought he was. He's something else entirely. Mine, a little voice whispers. He's mine. end quote.
Quote (Jareth knows her "boyfriend" is gay and that this is all a farce and this is when he tells her he is like her, a virgin), "You've never slept with him." "So? That doesn't prove anything. There are plenty of virgins in the world." "Yeah, I am one," Jareth growls. "Seriously?" I gape at him. "Is that so shocking? I told you before you came all over my face that I'd never done that before." "I thought you meant that specifically, not all of it." "You thought wrong. And you're still full of shit. Connor is gay." end quote.
Quote (This is the best part of the book making me wish all romance heroes are like him; he is saying that he waited to be with one woman, this tattooed hunk waited for love.), "Jesus, Jareth," she whispers, a breathless hitch in her voice. "Did you win all the grape measuring contests?" "Didn't participate," I grunt, planting my hand against her shoulder to lay her back. "I've been waiting for the right one." "The right contest?" "The right woman, Zoya." Her gaze flickers to mine as I lean down over her, trapping her on her back against the desk. "Looks like I finally found her." I don't give her time to respond before swooping to claim her lips in a searing kiss end quote.
One thing I was a bit sick of was how many times she said that Connor was her boyfriend, even though Jareth figured that it was not only fake but Connor is gay. It kind of irked me that she kept this charade for too long because at moments I felt bad for Jareth and how hurt he must have been when he thought it was true. The humor and the way Jareth responds to her saying it, made it bearable and his unrelenting personality trait made him more determined to chase after Zoya. Aside from that, I enjoyed this story! The humor was great, the witty banter was funny and the sex was quite steamy. I liked Jareth way more than Zoya, but I warmed up to her in the third act of the book. I really liked Connor and his side story with his beau. We only got to see it briefly, but him finding love made me smile and go "aww". He was a sweetheart and such a good friend to Zoya, getting caught up in her craziness. I would not mind seeing more of him and his boyfriend in the series. Jareth and Zoya satiated my craving for one true love couples. I wish all heroes could be like Jareth and wait to give his body to one woman, THE one and only woman he would fall in love with and claim for life. I am hopeful that the rest of the heroes will be first timers like Jareth and belong entirely to their heroine who would in fairness, belong to the hero entirely as well. THAT is romance! I recommend it and I will reread it. I am crossing fingers and toes that Nichole Rose makes this an all DV series. If so, then I am excitedly waiting for the other three books. Nichole Rose made my hopelessly romantic heart happy with "Whiskey Promises". Happy reading!
3.5 stars. So cute, and smutty, and sweet. Love Jareth, and Zoya. And if I’m not mistaken, I love that they’re second generation from past books from this author.
First of all, if Jareth is supposed to be an identical twin to Bastian, why do the cover pages of each book (Book 1 and book 3) have different male models? 🤔
I normally read the book’s reviews before I start it so I know what to expect. I’m a safe reader and don’t want to find anything that might trigger me while trying to enjoy a reading. And I have to agree with some of my fellow reviewers. The h, Zoya, pushes the H too much and for so long that it starts to get boring. Yeah, it’s because she’s afraid of falling in love and she doesn’t want to love because of what her sister went through with her recently-got-together-again boyfriend and fiancé during this book (they get married in this book, Nadia and Mateo - they have their own book). But, yeah, Jareth really ran after her for too long. And maybe that is part of the romantic gesture of not giving up on your partner, no matter what.
Jareth is very similar to his brother in the bulldozing his way kind of sense and I like that about a H. What I didn’t like about him was that he knew she has a “boyfriend” (her gay friend pretending to be her girlfriend per her request) and was determined to break them up so she could be his. It’s kind of disrespectful toward a relationship. But it was game over for her when he finally noticed that her so called “boyfriend” is gay. Oh, he was relentless. And he let her know that he will be there for her. If she ran, he would chase; just like in the epilogue 😉.
He father is awesome. This book was funny to me. I smiled several times with some nonsense during my read.
What I’m loving about this series is that these men haven’t been touched. They are all V. They have never been interested in finding someone, just working in the family business. So, these 3 books in the series are DV couples and I am loving it!!! Yeeesssss!!! Each other’s one and only. My favorite, Bastian and Constances’s book (#3).
It’s a 3 but being DV grants a star in my book. I will recommend it. It was fun to read.
SAFETY remarks - SAFE - DV - cheating/sharing: no - ow/om: no - separation/breakups: 3 months - possible triggers: no - HEA: yes
The story was cute. I don’t know, it just didn’t hit the way some of Nicole Rose’s stories usually hit me. I’m not sure if it’s the book or just something with where my minds at.
I liked Jareth, but was a little iffy on Zoya. Also I think I wanted the fake bf thing to have more of an impact. Conner was barely playing his role and Jareth found out about the ruse so quickly it was barely worth it.
Still if you’re here for the signature Nicole Rose obsessed alpha male that desperately loves his heroine you won’t be disappointed.
Easy, fast novella. He was so sure of her, that he chased her even tho when he thought she had a boyfriend. She had help from her gay best friend to act as her boyfriend, but it didn’t quite happened like she had planned. Such fun story.
- Dual virgins - Some jealous H when he thinks h has a boyfriend - No owd
This was such a sweet and romantic Instalove story❤️ Zoya is visiting her older sister and her band when she meets Jareth the hot guitarist of the band. Jareth sees Zoya and instantly knows she is the One he waited for his whole life. but Zoya is determined to never fall in love and to never get hurt like her sister. Jareth is obsessed and would do everything to get his woman even he has to play unfair to get her. Even a fake relationship between her and her gay best friend won't stop him. He chased his woman until she is finally his. Insta love, heartwarming, sweet, fun to read (loved Jareth's brothers and cousins😊), romantic , steamy, J/P obsessed hero, fake relationship, freaking dual virgins(I love it 😍), no OW drama and no real OM drama(her "boyfriend" is gay😉) with an awesome HEA 😍😍😍😍😍 Can't wait for the next Grayson son to find his HEA 😊
OMG!!! WOW!! Fab*u*lous Absolutely love this one!! I couldn't put this one down. This was a nice read, a little longer than I usually read but so worth it.
Jareth and Zoya three months ago, he kissed her after a concert and then she went back to Tennessee. Zoya's sister Nadia Hold Me Closer is getting married, when Jareth suggests to her to have the wedding at his families Vineyard. Zoya doesn't find out until a few days before they're about to leave. Jareth makes sure to put Zoya and Connor into separate bedrooms. Jareth takes notices when Connor leaves everyday to go exploring and leaves Zoya behind. Jareth brings it to Zoya's attention but she brushes him off saying they don't need to do everything together. Jareth tries to follow Connor around to find out what's going on he can't figure him out. Then Jareth's cousin Ridley Ambrosia Kisses tells him that Connor is gay and that he's into one of their bartenders. Jareth and Zoya have two children and are living on the vineyard in California. Jareth will always chase after Zoya and she doesn't doubt he will.

Zoya Mikhail is at a bar in Los Angeles visiting her sister, Nadia. Nadia’s band is playing there tonight. Zoya thinks that the guitarist is hot bus knows that she doesn’t want a fling. She is concentrating on her last year of college. Plus, after Nadia had her heart broken six years ago by Teo Kirby, a football player, Zoya wants nothing to do with love. Jareth Grayson is the hot guitarist in Nadia’s band. He has an identical twin named Bastian and his family owns a vineyard. He keeps staring at Zoya all night.
After the show, Nadia and Zoya are sitting at the bar. Three drunk guys cause a scene, but Teo Kirby rushes over and hits two of the guys. He asks Nadia and Zoya if they are okay and then he walks out. Nadia goes after him. Jareth comes in and sits next to Zoya. She tells him what happened and then they kiss. The spell is broken when the bartender clears his throat. Zoya leaves telling Jareth that she has a boyfriend at school.
Three months later, the band is in Knoxville. That is where Zoya goes to school, so she is hanging out with Nadia while they are in town. Jareth is just as obsessed with Zoya as he was three months ago. He pushes her about her supposed boyfriend. Zoe shows him a picture of her with a man sitting on a couch. The man has his arm around Zoya. Jareth decides he needs a plan to get Zoya to break up with her boyfriend. He wants Nadia and Teo to get married at his family’s vineyard so that he has two weeks to convince Zoya that he is the man for her.
The picture that Zoya showed Jareth is her best friend Connor Anderson. He is the favorite pitcher on the baseball team and secretly gay. Half the school thinks he has a girlfriend at home and the other half thinks he is secretly dating Zoya. Zoya asks Connor to be her fake boyfriend for her sister’s wedding at the vineyard.
These two made me laugh. She thinks he sleeps around with groupies. He thinks she has a boyfriend. I was waiting for them to realize they are wrong about each other.
Double second generation in this amazing 5 star series opener honestly I loved Jareth and Zoya so much.
Whiskey Promises takes us back to the Goodson vineyard and seeing the kids of the couples I loved in the alpha series and love on the Clock series take centre stage.
Jareth definitely takes after his Dad in his alpha possessive ways, not backing down from the challenge of chasing Zoya, and proving he's just as much hers and she is his.
Zoya is a headstrong FMC, whose past experiences (through her sister Hold me Closer) have made her run away from the idea of love. However when she met Jareth, the instant connection was hard to deny, to the point she hatches a crazy plan enlisting her gay best friend to pose as her boyfriend to stop herself acting on impulse and jumping Jareth's bones.
Jareth and Zoya together are explosive, their chemistry is off the chart and the push /pull of their relationship is entertaining to read. Seeing Zoya try and continually deny her attraction to Jareth is funny especially when she starts pushing him for reactions that she knows is going to end one way only.
Nichole knows how to write her MMCs so while their gruff alphas, they have the most swoon worthy declarations and obsessive tendencies. And when paired alongside their dirty mouths, urgh fan me because it's just got hot in here.
What to expect 💙 Series Opener 💙 Second Generation (Double we get her Alpha Series and Love on the Clock series kids) 💙 Alpha MMC 💙 Steamy Scenes 💙 Interlinking characters (Hold Me Close, Her Alpha Daddy, Adore you, Hold You) 💙 Interconnected Standalone 💙 Instalove 💙 Dual POV 💙 Fake Dating 💙 Dual Virgins 💙 He Falls Fast and Hard 💙 She Fights The Connection 💙 Sexual Chemistry 💙 Vineyard Setting 💙 Pure Love 💙 HEAs
Brilliant start to the series, Nichole is going to deliver us brilliant stories in the Wine Country Alpha Series and I can't wait to dive in again.
I just finished "Whiskey Promises," the first book in the new "Wine Country Alphas" series, and let me tell you, it’s a fantastic start for this second generation! It follows the sweet journey of Jareth and Zoya as they find their happily ever after. Just like his dad, Jareth knows from the moment he sees Zoya that she’s the one for him. But Zoya is a bit hesitant because she meets Jareth when he’s the lead guitarist in her sister’s band. Even though they have a strong connection, she’s worried about their circumstances—he’s in California while she’s months away from graduating in Tennessee. Still, she can’t shake off the chemistry between them!
Things get more interesting when her sister decides to have her wedding at the Goodson Wine Vineyard and brings along her gay best friend, claiming he’s her boyfriend for the next two weeks. This “fake” relationship doesn’t convince Jareth, and makes it his mission to win Zoya’s heart during their limited time together.
I absolutely loved this short and sweet instalove! The characters are so easy to connect with, and their playful banter had me laughing out loud. Their chemistry? Super hot and steamy! The story kept me engaged from beginning to end and moved at an incredible pace. The author did a fantastic job with the world-building, introducing a new generation of endearing characters and couples. Each story stands on its own while also offering glimpses of the characters we’ve come to love from previous books. It’s such a delightful read!
I received a free copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving a review.
Let me just start by saying, my introduction to Nichole Rose was reading the Her Alphas series, where we went to wine country for the first time. When I saw she was doing a second generation series, I was beyond excited!
Zoya, daughter of Knox and Lauren from Hold Me Closer, is afraid of love. After seeing the turmoil her sister went through, she's convinced she's better off without it. When her sister's hot bandmate starts showing her he's interested, her first instinct is to run. But as time goes by, is running really the answer?
Jareth, son of Carter and Luna from Her Alpha Daddy Next door, has been thrust in the spotlight as band member for Nadia. During a show, he spots her little sister and decides she's the one. She runs, but he is determined to chase her until she's his, completely and totally. But will she surrender?
Listen... this book hit every single mark. I loved it from beginning to end. Zoya is strong willed and sassy and freaking amazing. Jareth is adorable and just as alpha as his father, in all the best ways. Seeing these characters all grown up is so much fun and nostalgic for my starting obsession for this author's books. Of course, there's banter galore, hot spice, and a fantastic HEA. Definitely, highly recommend!
Plus, anytime I get to see Knox it just makes me happy.
This is book one in the author’s new Wine Country Alphas series and it was absolutely perfect!!
Not all rockstars are players. A few, like Jareth, were still virgins, patiently waiting for a love like the one their parents shared to come along and at long last he’s finally found her. He’s got his work cut out for him though when it comes to Zoya, his bandmate’s sister, who was terrified to fall in love—even to the point of getting her best friend involved to pretend to be her boyfriend.
I swear, I wanted to smack Zoya so many times! Jareth fell for her first, hardest and at first sight but she dealt that poor man so much misery with all her wishy washy ways. I loved that, despite her keeping him at arms length for so long, he proved his devotion to her by continually reassuring her he would never give up and refusing to let her run from her feelings. And secksy? Oh my gosh, that man was SO hot with his filthy mouth and unapologetic obsession… even *I* was in love with him!!! You do not want to miss this super steamy little novella; it’s fairly short but it’s not lacking ANYTHING! Grab it today, you’ll be so glad you did!! 5 stars!
I received a copy of this book for free from Instalove Influencers but am voluntarily leaving a review.
I hate you can't give half stars. This is a solid 4.5 for me. I started reading Nichole, Loni and Loni Nichole not to long ago. I was actually unaware this was a second generation book until I saw the reviews. I have loved everything I have read by this author so far. I was actually quite annoyed by Zoya when I started this book. I just didn't get her hesitation. Now that I have finished the book I totally get it. For a short read it kept me up late into the night to finish it. My only real criticism is that Connor needed to be involved just a bit further in the make it look good side of the story. I don't know if it was meant to feel that way but for a best friend I feel like he abandoned her as soon as they stepped onto the vineyard. I would have loved to see him almost conspire against her. Something like doing it for her own good. Stopping her from stepping on her own toes. Otherwise, I really enjoyed it and am onto the next and then onto the generation one series. Nothing like doing it backwards. (Also, I have created a spreadsheet just to keep up with all the connected series between authors. There is a lot of them.)

Nichole Rose has done it again!!! She has created the perfect Instalove romance book, while simultaneously bringing characters from other books that we already know and love! Whiskey Promises is a Second Generation book. These are the children from her original characters and I am so here for all of them!! Zoya Mikhail, we met her as a little girl in Hold You as the daughter of “He-Man”, Knox Mikhail and Lauren York. Jareth Grayson, we met his parents in Her Alpha Daddy Next Door, Carter Grayson and Luna Goodson. Zoya is in love with rock star Jareth, but she will not act on it. She refuses to get her heart broken and maybe go down the same path as her sister, Nadia(we have her story in Hold Me Closer) and risk her independence, her future, and her heart. When Zoya arrives with her “boyfriend”, Jareth will do everything to make Zoya admit her feelings and finally become his! Oh, Whiskey Promises is so good, so many past characters are making appearances, and Nichole Rose has set up the Second Generation books so well!! I cannot wait for more!!!
Oh, wow…this story of Jareth and Zoya does NOT disappoint! It’s a second-generation story, so we are somewhat familiar with them as children. Getting to see them as adults just adds another dimension to this story. It’s a heartwarming story about how watching other’s experiences can impact our own decisions and choices. Zoya watched her sister fall apart due to heartbreak and so vowed to not let herself be vulnerable in the same way. But Jareth, who is her sister’s guitarist, falls instantly upon seeing Zoya. On the journey Zoya has to discover who she is and what she truly wants, watching Jareth support her and encourage her to be her best self. It’s phenomenal. Add in a best friend who is utilized to derail interest, and you have all the hilarity that is reminiscent of both first gen series.
I absolutely love this story and strongly recommend it. Even if you aren’t familiar with the families and stories from the first generation books, it’s still an amazing story about finding your own path and learning to love.
Epic. This was beyond fantastic. Nichole did it right with this second gen romance. And each MC is from a previous couple? Heck freaking yes! Jareth and Zoya reminded me so much of her parents, Knox and Lauren. One of my all time favorite couples. Zoya runs, Jareth chases. Zoya doubts, Jareth supports. Gah. This was so well done. I loved their relationship from the beginning to their HEA. Zoya is the epitome of Nichole's heroines. She's sassy, feisty and loves her family fiercely. She's got her quirks too. And Jareth? The epitome of Nichole's heroes. Completely gone for his girl. Protective. Possessive. Unrelenting. I absolutely loved also seeing Jareth's parents, Carter and Luna. Another favorite couple. I actually re-read their book recently just because I had a hankering for it. I love how connected Nichole's series and characters are. It makes her books even more enjoyable. I'm super excited for the rest of this series.
I received a complimentary copy and am voluntarily leaving my honest review.
I just finished it and already can’t wait to reread it!
POV: Dual, First person MMC/FMC: Jareth and Zoya (love the names!) OW(M)/Cheating: No! 3rd act breakup: No. Instalove: Yes. Series: First of four in the Wine Country Alphas series Spice: Handful of spicy scenes, steamy but not over the top. Writing: I love Nichole’s writing. She brought her A++ game with Whiskey Promises. I was hooked right away. The first paragraph is exactly me (except I’m five feet one inch). Zoya had me laughing out loud throughout the book. The family dynamics on both sides are perfection. Editing: There are quite a few editing issues. A few of them did make you reread to make sense of the sentence, however, it wasn’t bad enough to make me not want to read it. Read this author before: Lots. Available on KU: Yes. Trigger Warnings: None. Should you read it: Absolutely!
Second generation from two of my favourite series?! I LOVED this crossover and seeing all of the kids grown and acting exactly like their fathers. Jareth was Carter and Luna Grayson’s son from Her Alpha Daddy Next Door and he was exactly like Carter. OTT alpha, possessive and would fight/clear any and all obstacles to his woman. Zoya was Knox and Lauren Mikhail’s daughter from “Hold You” and she was independent, a hot mess in the best way and terrified to love after seeing her sisters experience (Nadia from “Hold Me Closer”). A fake relationship with her gay best friend wasn’t stopping Jareth from getting his woman, and the antics that ensued were so funny. It was steamy, emotional and I loved every second of it. No cheating or OM/OW drama, double virgins, stalking/chasing for steamy times, dual POV, no condom use, HEA and an epilogue 5 years in the future. I can’t wait to see the other siblings and cousins fall in love and see more of the family from previous books!
This is the 1st book in the Wine Country Alphas series featuring Jareth and Zoya's steamy story and we get the 2nd generation of the Alphas letting us revisit some of our all time favorite characters. Ms. Rose wrote the next generation perfectly giving Zoya traits from both her father Knox(He-Man) and Lauren. Jareth notices Zoya when she comes to visit her sister who he's in the band with and he knows that Zoya is meant for him as soon as he sees her. However Zoya isn't going to make it easy for Jareth even though she wants him too. I don't want to say anymore and ruin it for anyone else with spoilers. You really need to read this fun steamy story to see if Jareth gets his girl. I would definitely recommend reading this book and I'm looking forward to the next book in this wonderful series. I received an ARC of this book and I am voluntarily leaving a review.
From the moment that Zoya met Jareth, the guitarist in her sister’s band, the sparks flew but she was determined to deny them as she has seen what happens about caring too deeply. As a result, when her sister’s upcoming nuptials are happening at his family’s vineyard she convinces her best friend who is gay to pretend they are a couple. What could possibly go wrong?
From the moment that Jareth saw Zoya he knew that they were meant to be together so finding out she was in a relationship was unwelcome news. Seeing them together he soon realizes that all is not as it appears, and he is a man on mission when it comes to claiming Zoya as his own.
The banter between them is witty and the chemistry radiates off the pages as Zoya’s reluctance is no match for Jareth’s determination and charm.
This is book number 1 of the Wine Country Alphas series and focuses on Jareth and Zoya. While it isn’t required, I would highly recommend reading Hold Me Closer prior to this story. Hold Me Closer is Zoya’s sister’s story and overlaps with this story. It also gives a much clearer picture about this story. Jareth is the son of Cater and Luna (from Her Alpha Daddy Next Door) and also a guitarist for Zoya’s sister. When he first sets his sights on Zoya, Jareth immediately knows that she is the one for him but Zoya is scared of her feelings for him and runs. Jareth is determined to do everything he needs to do to finally make her his. I love his determination and his unwavering loyalty to Zoya. This was a great story and a great start to the series.
I received a free copy of this book via the author and am voluntarily leaving a review.
I found Nichole Rose through one of the books in her original Alphas series so when I learned the next generation of Alphas was staking its claim, it was exciting news indeed!
Whiskey Promises certainly delivers. Jareth and Zoya are both second generation characters (Jareth - Her Alpha and Zoya - Love on the clock). These two meet at a concert featuring Zoya’s sister’s band, of which Jareth is a member. There are immediate sparks and one of them immediately sees forever. The other? They may see forever too, but they start running.
The chase commences, hilarity ensues, and the sparks turn into and eternal flame. This series kicks-off is a smart and smexy rom-com with a strong, compelling couple and a whole bunch of supporting characters to look forward to in future books.
As always, I loved this book. Nichole writes in a way that keeps me glued to the story. Jareth sees Zoya across the room and falls right then and there. Zoya is visiting her sister. She has no time or desire for love. She wants to graduate college and work with rescue places to help animals. Jareth is a guitarist for Zoya's sister. He's also part owner of a winery with his brothers and cousins. He's a busy man but after seeing Zoya, he decides chasing after her is going to be one of the things he will always love to do. No matter how hard Zoya denies it, Jareth knows she has feelings for him. Now he's gotta prove he's always gonna be there and he will always chase after her...Zoya needs to learn how to open her heart but can she do it? Will Jareth get tired of chasing her? 5⭐ 3.5 🌶
This book could have been amazing, it SHOULD have been amazing... But Zoya killed it! Why the fuck do authors make us sit through 3 quarters of a book dying inside because one of the main characters can't get their heads out their asses, when we could be enjoying half the book sharing in their journey as a happy couple?! Surely we can come up with something a little more original than have to make the whole book about the Zoya's "I don't do love" bullshit, but still leading Jareth around by his dick?! Could we not maybe come up with a little something else to add to the story?
I mean FFS Zoya' s hot and cold and hot and cold.... So fucken annoying! It got old so fast, and then I still had 3 quarters to sit through.
I love all of Nichole Rose’s book! This one was fantastic! I didn’t read any reviews just the quick synopsis so I was so surprised when I realized this was the next generation of some of my favorite characters and books! I read them so many times it was great to see a quick glimpse of them again! Like with all of Miss Rose’s book I laughed out loud! She has such a way of writing her characters and their banter that I want them to be my friends for real. I love Zoya’s spirit and Jareath’s persistence but then again it wouldn’t be a Nichole Rose book without the H knowing exactly what he wants and going after with everything he has! Can’t wait for Bastian’s book!
Okay, I could not stop laughing at Zoya and how she kept poking at Jareth. By the way, ten out of ten on naming the hero Jareth and having Zoya call it out. I am loving this second generation. It's great to get a peek at the parent and where they are but also how their children have grown up with them as parents. It's nice to see that happy ever after doesn't always mean everything turns out perfect with perfect children. These two were adorable together, with just the right mix of fire and ice. The banter and heat was one point with dialogue that kept you on your toes and engaged the entire time. I loved that we get hints of the other hero's in this series as well. Overall, great read and can't wait to see what is next.
