October 18, 2025It's okay, I guess??? It's also safe; it's dual V, after all. There are just some frustrating moments because of miscommunication. And ngl, Trystan (26) and Chloe (24) had me scratching my head at times. I want to shake both of them and tell them to just talk, for Pete's sake. 🤦♀️
Then again, I think having MCs who couldn't communicate for the life of them is the running theme here in this series. 🤷♀️
Anyway, it's a novella, so there's not much to it. I think my main issue is that, while this is already a quick read, the amount of spice takes up nearly half of the plot. 🫣 I just expected more or some sort of plot, but idk, I feel like most of the things were rushed??? But then I'm a mood reader, so some days I'm up for that, and some days I'm not. I probably just happened to have the latter.
Anyhoo, it might or might not work for some readers, obviously, but to each their own. 🤷♀️

This was the best in the series and it's because there was so much emphasis on how these two were each others one and only having never had an interest in ANYONE else EVER. They truly are in every sense, in every experience each others first, last and only! THIS is what I crave in romance and I got it with Trystan and Chloe.
The story is simple! Trystan is pet sitting Chloes brother's (Wyatts) Malinois by the name of Thanos, in Wyatts house. Trystan has always been in love with Chloe but when they were kids, he liked her and was protective of her. With teen hormones and having their feelings change to something deeper they both were too young to understand that their innocent childhood love for each other morphed into romantic love. To her he seemingly always barked orders at her, but to him, it was his possessiveness of her and jealousy of other boys seeing how beautiful she is and him having none of it, because he knew she was his. Chloe never paid any attention to other boys, for all she can see is Trystan. She is strong minded, and missed the caring Trystan she fell in love with, as it seemingly to her was replaced by a scowling Trystan always ready to tell her she doesn't need make up, because she is naturally beautiful, but he doesn't say that last bit since it seems obvious to him. Sequences of statements and remarks through their teen years and beginning of their young adult years, have made them think they despise one another, when it couldn't be farther from the truth. They just didn't know how to communicate their feelings as it changed from an innocent love to a passionate one coupled with hormones which surged when one thought of the other.
The other reason they hide their feelings is because they grew up together, so they did not want to bring this shift to their families, even though everyone in their family knew they were in love before they even knew what love was and was secretly rooting for them to get together!
This was the jist of their past, but the book starts when Chloe is hiding at Wyatts house trying to figure out what to do about her creepy boss who sent her inappropriate texts. She quit her job and planned to stay at her brothers house to think about what to do since her boss is her father's friend, and she doesn't know what to do. When she arrives she unexpectedly finds Trystan. They are forced to stay under the same roof which had them snap at each other at first, to then clear the air on their misunderstanding, and share how they really feel. After all he is now 26 and she 23 years old, so they corrected their miscommunications, and put all their cards on the table. No more miscommunication, only forthright talk for these two lovebirds who feel like they lost years of having what they always knew they wanted. Trystan finally got to claim his princess once he tackled her to the ground experiencing their first kiss!
The sex was scorching hot, and it was only because they discovered it with each other only. That is how romance should be in my opinion. In romance, sex is an act of romantic love, so that is why DV is the only way it works, but I only speak for myself. The humour with Tom the terror chiwawa and Thanos the skittish Malinois was really sweet and made me laugh. I love animals, so when they are a prominent part of the book, and these two are, it made me laugh. Oh and also a jump scare cat! The face off between Tom the terror and Trystan was really funny! Of course the creepy boss gets his comeuppance!
I loved it! I will reread it often and I urge you to read it if you love true DV romance! It was swoon worthy and everything I wanted. I am crossing fingers and toes that Nichole Rose gifts us more first timers like Trystan and his princess. We do have another couple Jax and Jade, whom are childhood friends deeply in love but separated emotionally by a miscommunication, so I think we will have another first timers story in future! I am waiting for Jax and Jade's love story but I have to say I am hopping on my feet impatiently! As for Trystan and Chloe, it was so sweet, so good, so full of heart, so romantic and I ended the read with a smile on my face!

Let's talk about the explosive connection that is Trystan and Chloe 🎆🎇!!! First, I could watch these two go back and forth with banter and sass and smexual tension all day long. But when the 💥 finally happens... oh man, it is SO GOOD!!! I love dancing along the fine line that is love and hate. especially when there is never really hate. This story was funny and spicy and such an enjoyable read.

OMG!!! WOW!! Fab*u*lous Absolutely love this one!! I couldn't put this one down. This was a nice read, a little longer than I usually read but so worth it.
Trystan and Chloe have known each other since they were born. Chloe's mom Cadence Her Date with an Alpha is sister to Trystan's Uncle Carter Her Alpha Daddy Next Door (Trystan and Chloe aren't cousins!) Chloe's family spends the summers with Trystan and his family. When Chloe turned thirteen everything started to change, Trystan started telling her things she couldn't do. When Chloe wore makeup Trystan told her she didn't need that stuff on her face. When Chloe picked out her senior prom dress, she wanted Trystan to ask her to go, so she told him someone else asked her. When Chloe wanted to go to college on the east coast Trystan told her to stay on the west coast. Chloe and Trystan try to avoid one another, they both think each other hates the other. When Chloe's brother Wyatt needs him to dog sit he heads to help his best friend. Trystan get a phone call from his brother wanting to know if he's seen Chloe, it seems she quit her job and no one has seen her. While watching Wyatt's dog, Thanos Chloe walks into the house. Chloe finds out that her sister, Jade has been calling around looking for her. When Chloe tells Trystan she'll watch Thanos Walker tells her to go back to San Francisco. Chloe informs Trystan that she's going to stay for a few days, When Chloe gets to her bedroom she calls her sister to tell her what happened. Trystan calls Chloe's dad to let him know that Chloe is with him at Wyatt's house. Chloe overhears Trystan pleasuring himself and hears her name. Trystan makes them dinner and when Chloe comes to eat he asks her what happened. Chloe tells Trystan what her ex-boss did and why she quit her job. Trystan asks Chloe to move in with him even though she'll be two hours away from her parents. Chloe and Trystan's family talk about a wedding between them when the doorbell rings. Trystan goes to answer and find Chloe's ex-boss wanting to talk to her. Trystan starts to yell at Chloe's ex-boss because he won't leave without seeing her. Soon Chloe's dad, Colton and Trystan's dad Eli are standing with him. Trystan starts throwing punches when Chloe's ex-boss won't leave and wants to see her for her to apologize. Chloe's dad tells her ex-boss he's getting what he deserves, then they call the cops to take care of him. Trystan takes Chloe to her old bedroom where he pleasures her until her mom comes to tell them the cops are here. Trystan mom Audrey starts making plans for her son and Chloe's wedding with Chloe's mom. When Trystan and Chloe finally leave she asks him if he wants to elope and that's what they do a week later. Trystan spend a lifetime getting it wrong, now he's finally getting it right. Chloe's wants and needs always come first, even if their parents are disappointed, they get it. Their parents know what's it's like to love like this. Five years later, Trystan daughter Bria asks him for a Chihuahua and of course he gives in he can't say no to his daughter. Trystan check on his twin boys Elias and Theo who can't be separated from one another. When Trystan gets to the bedroom he takes Chloe into the shower with him he wants another baby. Only Chloe tells him she's already pregnant. Chloe is Trystan's life, his life is better than any dream it's living.

Absinthe Dreams delivers 5 stars off the bat closing out the Wine County Alphas Series with a bang.
Trystan has been in love with Chloe since they were kids. Little does he know Chloe has felt the exact same way about him. However as the feelings grow when their teenagers, the fact they aren't able to communicate clearly with one another, and the fear that their feelings will destroy their family push them apart.
Years pass, and an incident at Chloe's work sends her running to her brothers place. What she didn't expect was to see Trystan there, and for the feelings she's suppressed for the last few years start bubbling upto the surface. Is she still alone in her feelings? Or is Trystan been holding out hope all this time too.
The connection between Trystan and Chloe is written really well. He's a supportive, but obsessed MMC and is the perfect balance for Chloe and her firey/fire cracker personality. The banter between them, in their one up manship of dealing with Tom the terrorising Chihuahua was funny (I actually quite liked Tom).

This is book four in the author’s Wine Country Alphas series and it was a heart touchingly good, HOT, read!
All four books in this series have been amazing! Set in the background of a jointly owned family winery, brothers and cousins, all working together, have found their true love (even Bastian, grumpy as he was!) in a variety of tropes; sister’s best friend (Whiskey Promises), second chance at love (Ambrosia Kisses), boss/employee (Bourbon Wishes) and best friends to enemies to lovers (this book)—all equally amazing! Even though they’re all interconnected they could, feasibly, be read as standalones, and certainly in any order, with no problem but I promise you, they’re addictive. After reading the first one, I could no more stop before reading the entire series than I could walk on water… they’re THAT good!
Both MCs in this seemingly hopeless love story were great though Trystan was the one that tugged at my heart the most, I guess because he was trying so hard but couldn’t seem to do anything right. Chloe, the FMC, was a feisty little thing and I could definitely relate to her but she made things so much harder for them to find their way to each other by all the jumping to conclusions she did over the years. Thankfully, in fiction anyway, true love always finds a way and though it took a while, Chloe and Trystan FINALLY recognized what everyone else already knew and it was absolute romantic perfection!!
Readers who love a couple of hopelessly devoted, pining, MCs NEED to check out this book, you’ll be so glad you did! 5 stars!!!

Trystan Goodson is in San Diego taking care of Thanos, his best friend, Wyatt Walker’s dog. Thanos is a retired military dog that has PTSD which is why he can’t be put in a doggy daycare. Wyatt shipped out on a new classified mission a couple of days ago.
Trystan’s brother Jax calls him to tell him that Chloe Walker, Wyatt’s younger sister, quit her job and then disappeared from San Francisco. She told her mom that she was fine and would be back soon. Her sister, Jade, called their cousin, Haven, to tell her that they are all worried about Chloe. Wyatt tells Jax that he hasn’t seen Chloe. Trystan and Chloe are childhood friends, who grew up with their families being close and interconnected. They went from being friends to being enemies in the blink of the eye. Chloe, a spitfire from the start, took Trystan’s jealous reactions and words as him trying to boss her. Trystan took Chloe’s anger at how he reacted as her hating him. Despite these struggles, they eventually find themselves in a place where they are forced to be around each other.

I’ve been so excited for Trystan and Chloe’s story! I feel like their story and chemistry has already been woven through the others, making for an epic build up. That tension was always there, but once they finally communicated?! Explosive! Their chemistry and steaminess was sooo good. I’ll be honest and say, I did not like Chloe’s character for the first half. But she grew on me the more she softened and realized her errors in judgment. Trystan though? I was all for him since the beginning! He’s bossy, OTT protective, and has been pining for his one love his whole life. He worships the ground she walks on and has never looked at another woman, ever. Same went for Chloe, so that no others/double virgin trope was perfection. No cheating or OM/OW drama, double virgins (but you’d never know it!), no third act breakup, dual POV, HEA and an epilogue 5 years in the future. I really hope we get a book for Jax and Jade. I’m so interested to see how the come through it now that Trystan and Chloe have paved the way with their families!

Trystan has been in love with Chloe ever since they were kids but he thinks that she hates him. What he doesn't know however is that Chloe is in love with him too despite how she acts around him. When Chloe has a problem at her job with her boss it leads to her going to her brother's place to stay and hide out. Chloe had no idea that Trystan would be at her brother's place and that they were going to get the chance to face their past in order to determine their future. I don't want to say anymore and ruin it for anyone else with spoilers. You really need to read this steamy page-turning, brother's best-friend, friends to lovers, forced proximity romance to see what happens. I would definitely recommend reading this book as well as the previous books in this wonderful series.

Since her brother is away she decides to stay at his home not realizing that Trystan was pet sitting for him. She has had feelings for Trystan since she was a teenager but doesn’t believe he seems the same way and has grown weary of his protectiveness.

When she arrives, he knows there is more going on then she is saying, and their forced proximity only confirms that denying their feelings for each other is no longer possible.

Perfection! That is what Absinthe Dreams by Nichole Rose is, pure perfection! Trystan and Chloe were always destined to be together, but life got in the way, well actually, they got in their own way. They got in each other’s heads that they hated each other, when in reality, they loved each other! Even their own families knew they loved each other. It isn’t until they are forced back together, and when Trystan learns that Chloe is being threatened by her old(creepy) boss, all bets are off. His over-the-top protection and possessive instincts take over. Of course, a little chickwawa, you have to read to know what that is, helps a little bit. Absinthe Dreams is a second generation book, and characters from other books make appearances, and it is spectacular!!! I love all of Nichole Rose’s books, and Absinthe Dreams is no exception. This was freaking awesome! The drama with Chloe's boss/ex-boss was well done. The chemistry between Trystan and her was five alarm fire hot. These two have wanted each other for years. Unfortunately, miscommunication, jealousy and just being dumb teens got in the way. But now they have their opening. I loved how they got to the point of no return. No turning back and no giving up. Trystan was going to be sure to keep his Coco. I loved both of their parents. And I loved the books for each set of parents. It was so good to see Colton and Cadence again! Yes!! This was the perfect end to the series. I'm super excited to see some of the others featured in this series get their own books. Well done, Nichole.

This is book number 4 of the Wine Country Alphas and focuses on Trystan and Chloe. Trystan and Chloe have been in love with each other since they were young teens and due to their age they had a lot of missteps along the way in how they interact with each other. It took them years of misinterpreting their interactions with each other before they both started being honest with each other and unpacking how certain interactions from their past came to be. When Chloe and Trystan are finally forced to address their feelings they quickly see what they have been missing and finally go after what they have both wanted since they were barely teenagers. This was a great story and a great addition to the series.

Wow I really love this series and this was another awesome story😍😍😍 Trystan is on love with Chloe since he was a teenager and that never changed or wavered. But Chloe's and his family are like a huge family and that's what scared Chloe and Trystan both. Now Chloe's brother needs a dogsitter (Trystan) and she needs to get away from a creepy ex-boss. One house, sparks fly and they finally can communicate their feelings and finally get their HEA😍😍 Friends to lovers, it has been always you, sweet, steamy, fun to read, sweet banter , romantic and totally safe (their were their one and only😏) and with a sweet HEA 😍😍😍😍 Hope we get the other cousins/siblings stories as well ❤️

Oh how I adore when Nichole Rose writes soul mates that have known the other was their one and only since childhood. This couple had the perfect amount of tension that built up until they both couldn’t take it anymore, and then realized hey we are sooooo in love! Pure cinema(make it bookish though)!
Chloe and Trystan were so good together, and there is some good smut that transpires once they reach their ah-ha moment. I loved the witty banter between them, and of course all the lovey dovey stuff we got as well. Nichole Rose sure knows how to write characters that yearn and burn with passion for each other. Love it!

This is the final book of the Wine Country Alphas series and is about Trystan and Chloe (CoCo). This has been my favorite book of the series and that’s saying something because I’ve loved them all.
As Nichole always does, I was laughing just a few pages in and went through the whole story laughing. I loved Tom and Thanoes. The big bad dog being scared of the little dog.
This story shows that one instance of miscommunication can set the stage for a long time. Chloe thought Trystan was bossy and Trystan thought Chloe hated him..but was that really the case? Was there more to the story? How will Trystan react when he finds out someone is bothering Chloe?

I felt all the emotions while reading this one!!! Laughed so hard at times I was crying lol
The chemistry between them was so intense you could feel it through the pages!!! Once they finally gave in there was no stopping it!!! The smexy times were panty meltingly DELICIOUS & HOT AF🥵🔥

Trystan and Chloe finally get their story in the last book of Wine Country Alphas series. Chloe and Trystan have so much miscommunication in their teen years they both thought the other didn't like them. I couldn't help but giggle with Trystan 's descriptions of Chihuahuas. Lol so accurate. I understand his PTSD from the neighbors Chihuahua Tom. I was cheering for Chloe and Trystan from the third book in the series. Hoping for more books from this family. 5 stars!!

This was an amazing brother’s best friend romance. It was such a well written story and in just had so many little humorous details. I love the whole setting of the story but especially I love the bond between Trystan and Chloe. They had such a strong connection that even years of misunderstandings couldn’t change. And I just wish their story didn’t have to end.

A totally absorbing story of childhood friends navigating their hidden feelings for one another. Chloe and Trystan lost their way when misunderstandings occurred when they were younger. I enjoyed every minute of their reunion and love journey filled with chaos, humor, dogs, truths revealed, vulnerability, growls, family, joy and heart. I highly recommend the entire series. I received an advanced copy of this book and this is a voluntary review.

I enjoyed all of the books in the series (although Bastian was my favorite). Liked this story of Trystan and Chloe and I was glad that they got it together finally. It was a little ridiculous to think that their families wouldn't support them (just based on the previous 3 books) but it was a good story, a slower pace with plenty of steam and drama.
