A collection of poems as a fistful of dense, rich earth: you can grow entire lives from the foundations Graham sets here. You will, too, if you read this debut with the attention, care, and curiosity it deserves. Such fine, sustaining work is being done by the poet, in verses both incantatory and affirming, pastoral and ferocious. Already I am planning a way back towards the pathways they have made in me.

Gorgeous collection of poems. I respect poets so much because the writing is so intimate. I feel naked having read them, and they're not even my own writing! I now feel like I know the hearts of Yashika, her mother, grandparents, brother, sister-in-law, and others dear to her.

This collection feels like a beautiful tribute to her brother and the Jamaican poets she looks up to and who trained her.

I liked the structure of the book-- keeping themed poems together. We even got a "short story" mini collection.

Amazing work. I will revisit these poems on many reflective days to come, seated with a cup of tea.
