This one from the Oxford Bookworms series opened my mind to things I didn’t know before. It’s about the famous Trojan War. I remember reading about the Trojan Horse when I was a child, but I forgot most of the story.
Anyway, I didn’t enjoy the story itself as much as I enjoyed researching it and discussing it with ChatGPT. While reading, I felt a bit confused by the strangeness of the myth, especially compared to my own beliefs, though I do find folklore intriguing and sometimes fascinating. Its context—mixing historical events with legendary figures like gods, goddesses, and heroes—was sometimes puzzling.
I’m a reader interested in serious themes, so this kind of story is usually not my cup of tea. However, I found myself drawn to the idea of reading the full epic with all the details, simply for the experience. It will definitely be on my TBR list.
This short version is more like a children’s introduction and not particularly enjoyable on its own; it was my own research into the myth and discussing it with ChatGPT that I really found enjoyable. As I mentioned, I kept asking ChatGPT all the time—but honestly, I’m the kind of person who asks a lot and wants to know everything, so I don’t object 😁
