Sapphire Falls #2

Getting Worked Up

Rate this book
Phoebe Sherwood is in love with the perfect man. Well, except for the fact that he's in love with someone else. But Phoebe isn't the type to let a little detail like that keep her from getting what she wants.

And as she's plotting how to get him back, she meets the perfect solution--Joe Spencer. The city boy is in town to retrieve his sort-of fiancé--the woman who stole Phoebe's man-- and when he hears Phoebe's plan to reclaim their respective soul mates, he's in.

Bright and sparkly. That's Joe's first impression of Phoebe. He's always been attracted to sparkly things--like neon casino signs, sequined evening gowns and Porsches. In fact, his affinity for those things, and the trouble they can cause, are exactly why he's determined to change his habits and settle down.

But if he's going to win his girl back, he's going to need to learn a new way of life. Country line dancing, guzzling homemade moonshine and getting rid of his custom-made suits are what it takes to fit into Sapphire Falls... and he's got some work to do.

Thank goodness Phoebe is the perfect coach.

And everything will be just fine... as long as they can keep their hands off of each other and remember which hearts they are trying to win over.

You should read this book if you like quirky small towns, over-the-top romantic gestures, hot descriptive love scenes, naughty words and country music. You should *not* read this if you don't like, well, any of the things above.

Oops, I did it again. I listened to a book out of order - oh well!

Getting Worked Up sounded very sexual to me. Which made me feel like I was judging the book by the title - I was hands down. In it, you will meet Phoebe who is in love with someone else. He's basically the perfect guy for her - he just doesn't know it yet.

Sounds kind of stalker-ish now doesn't it? So, now I'm getting those vibes and now the sexy one anymore.

Enter Joe, who is going through the same thing as Phoebe. His perfect girl is with the man of Phoebe's dreams - ick. Could it be anymore gross? Feelings man, they are terrifying. Somehow things eventually work for these two. They were each other's coaches to try to win their person. Of course things don't go the way they planned - but hey - they were cute and tried.

Definitely enjoyed this little rom-com and could see it become a movie (if it hasn't already been made into one?).

Sweet small town romance

This made for the perfect easy read. There wasn't excessive drama, angst etc. It was just a fun romantic comedy that had a light but charming feel from beginning to end. I will defiantly read more of this writers work, and more in this series.

DNF at 47%.

I want to try and think of a good way to review this book. I want to come up with words that sound well thought out and “smart”. But I’m going to be honest. The entire time I was reading this book there were one word that came to my mind……WOW! I said this over and over! Erin Nicholas has completely outdone herself in Getting Worked Up. This quickly became my favorite book of hers ever and when you read it, you will understand why I love it so much. This is the second book in the Sapphire Falls series. Joe Spencer is amazing, sexy, hot, charming, a little unsure of himself, hot and sexy (yes I already said that, but it needs to be said twice). Phoebe Sherwood is feisty, vibrant, beautiful, loyal, sweet, loving and an all American (country) girl. This story really was unlike anything I have read before. These two decide to work together with the intensions of breaking up the couple that they think they are in love with. Phoebe believes she is meant to be with Matt and Joe thinks Nadia will help him live the life he wants. Once these two discover their attraction to each other…..that’s where the “WOW” comes in! I don’t know how else to say it. I don’t like giving away spoilers in my reviews….I think you should all just read the book! But, shocking even myself, one of my favorite lines from the book actually came from Phoebe. "We can fix all of it if you just realize one thing." "What's that?" "That I want to cover you in cherry syrup and suck you like a lollipop." Joe stared at her. "Holy shit." Also, I want to mention that the relationship between the girls in this book is so funny and great! I thought they were so funny and real. You’ll get laugh out loud moments, friendships, truck shakin’, confidence building, surprising tattoos, traditions, hot sex and many swoon-worthy moments in this book. I have honestly loved everything Erin has written, but this one is the icing (or maybe with this book I should say sprinkles) on the cake!
HAPPY READING!

This book stars Phoebe Sherwood. She is one flashy woman who owns who she is and thinks that she is in love with her best friend, Matt. Millionaire Joe Spencer comes to town to breakup Matt and Nina. Phoebe is all in to help Joe and that's when the fun and laughter begins as these two begin to find out that they might just be perfect together.

I run out of superlatives when reviewing Erin's books, and this one is no exception. Phoebe and joes' story takes some surprising twists and turns. We get to see how the rest of sapphire falls residents are doing as well. I love the friendship that the ladies in the story have developed and can't wait to see more of it in Lauen's story (book 3). Read the sapphire falls series!

Loved loved loved this book. Joe was so hot from the moment he stepped onto the scene. He was dirty talking, smooth, and loads of fun. Then there is Phoebe. She has got to be my most favorite heroine of Erin's so far. She is feisty as all get out, country to the bone, fun,
bright and sparkly, and everyone's go to girl. For me she made the book. But I do have to warn, there was a part that just hit my heart hard. Stopped it for a second in a crucial part. But I did admire the way it worked out. I enjoy it more when the characters work through their issues and not fix them so simply or quick. Erin has done it again for me...made me love her characters and make them seem true to life and not so fictional.

Erin Nicholas is one of my favorite authors. There's just something about the way she writes that never fails to make me want to read more and more. I can never put my book down when I read her stories!

"Getting Worked Up" is the second book in her "Sapphire Falls" series. I've been anticipating Phoebe Sherwood's story since the first book when Phoebe was Adrianne's best friend and side-kick. She was the life of the party and spoke her mind. Phoebe loves Matt. She always assumed that one day they would get married. But there's a slight kink in her plan. Matt was not supposed to fall in love with another woman, much less want to propose to her!

In comes Joe Spencer. Why is Nadia, the woman he wants to marry, in love and thinking of saying her "I do's" to another guy? He can't let this happen! He and Phoebe team up to figure out how to get the ones they love back! Surely, it can't be that hard.

What I truly enjoyed about this story is how Phoebe and Joe make each other better. Phoebe might be direct and bossy, but she lacks confidence sometimes. Matt made sure the guys in town don't date her, so she thinks no one is interested in her and only sees her as a friend. Joe can't believe this. She's everything a guy could want in a woman. He shows her how special she is and how she's wanted. He woos her. Meanwhile, Joe is so used to having his way. He comes from money. He likes that Phoebe is spontaneous, and as he puts it, she "sparkles". He just feels more alive around her.

Without giving too much away, "Getting Worked Up" was just fun. It made me laugh and smile. Phoebe and Joe were a refreshing couple, and they sure were hot! Erin has written another winner! This is definitely in my top 3 books that I've read of hers, and it needs to be in everyone's must-read list if it's not already!

Can I move to Sapphire Falls!? Getting Worked Up is the second book in the Sapphire Books Series and it is amazing. Quick background Phoebe has lived in Sapphire Falls her entire life and has been in love with her best friend Matt for the past 3 years, however he's in love with Nadia. Joe is what can only be called a high rolling playboy but he wants to break away from his families traditions of making stud decisions because of women so he decides that he wants to marry his best friend Nadia because she's safe. Joe travels to Sapphire Falls to try to woo her and realizes that he's going to have to change his whole life because Nadia has fallen in love with Sapphire Falls.
I cannot even explain how much I adored this book. Joe are Phoebe are down right addicting. Phoebe is electric and oozes passion and life. She is the girl that everyone loves, except Joe! He see's Phoebe as the type of flashy, shiny type of girl he needs to stay away from, except she is the perfect women to show him how to fit into Sapphire Falls. The heat between these two is immediate and scorching hot. The push and pull of their relationship is perfect and even though I wanted to smack Joe at times I understood why he did and said the things he did and in the end it made me fall a little more in love with him.

I love Erin Nicholas' Sapphire Falls series and her latest book, Getting Worked Up, was totally awesome! This author knows how to create fabulous characters you can't help but fall in love with and I completely adored the heroine, Phoebe in this story. Phoebe is the girl you would want to be your best friend. She's friendly, sassy, confident and incredibly "sparkly" as Joe would describe her. LOL! I loved their first meeting and couldn't help but feel sorry for Joe as Phoebe put him through his initiation of Sapphire Falls with strawberry booze. I enjoy the humor the author writes in her stories and this one was no exception. I couldn't stop smiling and chuckling as Phoebe described in detail what Joe had to do to fit in living in this small town. These two had chemistry that sizzled off the pages. They were complete opposites but they totally understood each other after such a short time. Joe showed such a tender side when it came to Phoebe that it just melted my heart and their sexy time was steamy hot. It was great to see the rest of the gang again and I loved when they all got together to provide Phoebe with some much needed advice on her feelings for Joe as their campaign to win their respective best friend's heart falls on the sideline. This story is another winner from this amazing author. I cannot wait to read the next book in this series.

Love ya, Adrianne & Mason, but move outta the way! Make room for Phoebe & Joe, the hottest couple yet to hit Sapphire Falls. Have mercy! It’s more like Getting US Worked Up.

We met Phoebe in Getting Out of Hand but fall in love with her in Getting Worked Up. Who couldn’t love this sassy, sweet, fun loving, bossy, go-to girl? Joe certainly can’t resist her charms. And Joe. Holy Hotness! There aren’t enough adjectives to describe him. He’s sexy, sweet, confident, charming, hot, caring, SEXY. Although he’s previously lived an over-the-top playboy lifestyle, he comes across as a laid back country boy in a custom-made suit. Which Phoebe soon gets him out of! :D

What ensues is a fast-paced, fun, laugh out loud, steamy, HOT romp through Sapphire Falls. One you have to experience for yourself. So run, don’t walk, to get your copy now and prepare to swoon. You’ll be ever grateful, as I am, to Erin Nicholas. All of her previous books have been wonderful. This one is flippin’ fantastic. My new #1.

We’ll soon take our third trip to Sapphire Falls with Lauren and Travis. Lauren shocked and tantalized us in Getting Out of Hand. I suspect she’ll rock our world in Getting Dirty. I. Can’t. Wait.

Getting Worked Up is the second book in the Sapphire Falls series and absolutely fantastic. Erin Nichols is at the top of my list of favorite authors. I am always astounded when I read a new release because I swear that the last couple she wrote about was my favorite, and then I read the new story and that couple outshines the previous ones becoming my new favorite. Every character has something unique about them that will cause you to love them for that quality. You really don’t know what you are missing if you haven’t read one of Erin’s books.

Joe Spencer has come to Sapphire Falls to get back the girl he loves, but she is in love with the only man Phoebe Sherwood feels is the perfect man for her. They join forces to help one another get back the person they want to spend the rest of their life with. As they work together they start to notice the good qualities in one another, and the heated chemistry between them is getting extremely intense. Is it enough to make them realize that the person they could love for the rest of their life is standing in front of them? Or will they fall back on the loving comfort of their long time best friends?

I received a complimentary copy of this book from the author in exchange for an honest review.

OMG Erin has done it again. Joe is amazing! So swoon worthy and he has stole my heart from everyone else. Phoebe is an independent, strong willed and is not afraid to tell you how she feels. Matt is her best friend that she is in love with. Matt has a girlfriend Nadia that he plans on proposing to soon. Joe comes to town to steal Nadia back because he is in love with her. Phoebe makes a plan to teach Joe all he needs to know about the town. Once they start hanging out. Sparks happen and neither one want to believe it. Joe figures out what has been going on with Matt and calls him out on it. Nadia and Matt have to make the biggest decision of their life. Does this mean phoebe and Joe get their chance at love? This is an amazing series. There is so much love and passion and the friendships in the book is out of this world great.

Getting Worked up
The second book in a new series set in the town of Sapphire Falls.
This book tells the story of Phoebe and Joe who hatch a plan to win the loves of their lives. As with all best laid plans this one goes awry and Phoebe and Joe realize that what you think you want is not always what you need.
More characters are introduced in this second book and they are very entertaining. Old friends from Getting of Hand are also here to help the story line along
As in Getting out of Hand the story develops at a good pace and the twists are well done. Both Joe and Phoebe are easy characters to like and the comedy woven throughout the storyline is at times laugh out loud. And again the chemistry between the 2 is hot and believable.
I am looking forward the next book, I am sure it will not disappoint.

I do not even know where to start! I absolutely love Joe and Phoebe. They were absolutely wonderful characters with so much heart and care for one another even when they weren't ready to admit it to themselves. I think Joe may have even taken over my favorite character spot from Mason in Getting Out of Hand. The ending of this book was the perfect way to close out the book. It fit their characters perfectly. I want more of these two; a novella on all their adventures and "gestures" of love. I love this series and cannot wait to read more. Way to go Erin! You have created a brilliant masterpiece with this series.

Phoebe is sassy, independent, says what she feels woman that the entire town of Sapphire Falls loves.
Joe is the suit and tie that drinks his beer from a glass.
The only thing they have in common is the need to break up the relationship of their best friends. Enter moonshine, boots and tailgates and you have a fun and unexpected love story.
Erin is a must read for that down home warm love story!

I really enjoyed this book. Life in Sapphire Falls is always fun. The characters are interesting and the traditions quirky. Who wouldn't want to life in Sapphire falls? I fully understand why Joe wants to live there. Matt is a bit of a jerk and I'm glad that Phoebe finally finds out why the guys in town don't ask her out. Always happy to get a happy ending.

Phoebe Sherwood made me laugh out loud so many times in the first Sapphire Falls book, Getting Out of Hand. I just loved what a sweet, little firecracker she was and was thrilled to see she was the heroine in second book in Erin Nicholas's series, GETTING WORKED UP. Erin doesn't match our hometown girl with one of the boys from Sapphire Falls, even though everyone including Phoebe assumed she'd end up with Matt. But Matt surprises everyone and falls in love with Nadia, one of Mason's scientists. Phoebe calls her "Brainiac Barbie". Too funny!

Nadia comes with her own history, Joe Spencer, who knows she's crushed on him for years and always thought she would be his in the end. The end meaning when he was ready to settle down from his wild and reckless playboy ways like flying around the world in his private jet at the drop of a hat (or the whim of a woman he was trying to impress). When he finds out some country boy from Sapphire Falls, the small town in Nebraska where Mason and Lauren moved their company's base of operation to, he comes running to stake his claim. He's just cocky enough to believe all he has to do is crook his finger and let Nadia know he can finally be hers and she'll drop Matt like a hot potato for him.

Phoebe still wants Matt for herself, and like Joe, she's not about to go down without a fight to win back the man who has been a good friend all her life and who she has loved for years. Unlike Joe, she knows it's not going to be that easy. They need a plan, a grand gesture to break those two up and set things back to how they should be. Joe doesn't know what hits him when the bossy, feisty, beautiful, sparkly, and sexy as hell redhead decides she's going to help him win Nadia back, but he knows she's trouble. It's not long before he's forgetting the point of why they are spending time together because all he can think about is how hot Phoebe is and how much he wants her in his bed. The chemistry goes both ways and Phoebe finds she can't resist the smooth city boy with the dirty mouth, and luscious kisses, and rock hard body she wants to crawl up every time she sees him.

This book was so much fun! Loved Joe and Phoebe together. He made the sweet hometown king, Matt, seem boring and certainly not enough for the vibrant Phoebe. I always love reading about the players who fall hard and fast for the right girl before they even know what hit them, lol. Getting Worked Up was sexy, witty, and laugh out loud hilarious. Really, really great dialogue with one-liners throughout that had me cracking up. For instance, right in the midst of a sweet, yet sensual sex scene at a pivotal point in Phoebe and Joe's relationship Phoebe starts to get a little emotional. So Joe says, "Oh, no, you don't," he said quickly. "There's no crying in naughty, tied-up sex."

Lauren, Hailey, Adrianne, Mason, Matt, Drew, Travis, T.J. and several more of the hometown boys are back to round out the story and set us up for the third book, Getting Dirty. Do not miss out on this story! Do not miss out on this series!! 4.5 stars

Erin Nicholas is back with the second book in her Sapphire Falls series and as expected in a book by this author, hilarity ensues when everyone’s favorite friend, Phoebe Sherwood, decided to get her perfect man who unfortunately is in love with someone else. I do so love it when plans go awry and people find love where they least expect it. Getting Worked Up is smart, funny, and very sexy!
You just have to love Phoebe Sherwood; I mean you have to because everyone does. She’s just a whirlwind and always in the middle of everything but in a good way and there isn’t a mean bone in her body not she even likes the woman who has her hooks in her best friend and the man she intends to marry so she’s decided she just has to make Matt see her as a woman and a partner. At times she’s just a wee bit off her rocker, but even that makes her attractive and then there’s the fact that she knows or is related to everyone in town. So when Joe Spencer comes to town determined to keep the woman he intends to marry from marrying another man, Phoebe is right there to coach him into being just the man that Nadia (aka Brainiac Barbie) wants.
I swear most of the fun in this book came from watching Joe try and figure out Phoebe and what she was up to for the majority of this book. He came expecting to woo his friend and the girl he wants to marry because she’s steady and solid and will calm him down and he winds up meeting her complete opposite and just the type of woman he thinks he needs to stay away from. These two need each other to break apart the friends they both want to marry but along the way they find it really hard to keep their hands, lips, words, thoughts and a lot of other things to themselves. I loved the banter between these two, I loved how they began to figure out that the person the other one intended to marry really wasn’t the right one for them, I loved how they had a hard time remembering they had a plan to put in motion because they were too busy with each other, I absolutely loved how the whole town and Phoebe’s friends and Joe’s co-workers could see how crazy they were about one another even when they refused to admit it and I mostly loved how they each saw how special the other one was and how they didn’t need to change a thing about themselves.
As always in an Erin Nicholas book the secondary characters are pretty important and that was the case in this book. I loved seeing the returning characters, learning more about some characters, and seeing a few that were mentioned in the last book but were never really around. I think there is going to be some really interesting things coming down the road in Sapphire Falls and I can’t wait to see it.
Getting Worked Up is another excellent addition to Erin Nicholas’ growing body of work; you simply can beat her fun and quirky characters, the crazy plots, and the supreme sexiness.

JJJJJJOOOOOOOOOEEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!! (Yep. No backstory. Just going into the review. :) ) I loved Joe. Even more than I love my nerd lover Mason. I was really feeling Joe throughout the book but the more I got to know about him and his past the more I fell head over heels in love! He has some insecurities that weren't the typical that we usually see in the males of our romance world and it just made me go awwwwww and turn to a mush puddle.

If Phoebe was an actual person, she would be in my close group of friends and we would get along so well. I enjoyed her in Getting Out of Hand but I instantly clicked with her in this book. She's in your face, bossy, but is everyone's friend and everyone loves her. But what she doesn't know if that Matt, the guy she's convinced she's supposed to end up with, is Matt has made it clear to every eligible male in Sapphire Falls that Phoebe is his. So she doesn't realize what a catch she is until Joe starts showing her that she is desirable. She has a moment where she's freaking out about not being sexy enough and Joe's there and handles it very well. Seriously, he was so great. I loved him so much! (Yes we are back to that. Lol.) It's funny how these two people thought they were supposed to be with other people-Matt and Nadia, who were actually together-but were made for each other.

And just like what I talked about in the Getting Our Of Hand Review, these two fell in love pretty quickly and I loved it. I think, for these two, if their love story was drawn out, it wouldn't have worked out too well. (Now I will say there was this one part where they weren't together for a period of time but it's still quicker than some relationships take to form.)

We got to see some some more of Lauren and Travis who will be in the next book, Getting Dirty, and I know I will love their challenges that will be thrown their way in their book. I have enjoyed reading Lauren in these past two books and know I am going to like her a lot. :)

And again, there is nothing in this book I would change. I really don't know how Erin does this-writes perfect books to me each and every time. I'm just going to start calling her a magician!

Marriage Pacts Go Awry...

This series MUST be read in order! The first book is Getting Out Of Hand. This is the second book.

Phoebe is in love with Matt... She has been (or thinks she has) for at least the last three years if not her whole life. They make sense... He's the king to her queen of the most liked in town. There is just one tiny little problem... He has gone and fallen in love with Braniac Barbie (ie Nadia) and has already informed her he is going to be proposing at the town festival which is right around the corner! How will she make him see the error of his ways and make him marry her instead?!

Joe has had enough. Enough of crazy over the top women and his jet setting ways... Enough of waking up in strange places alone and with no idea where he is or how he got there. And just in time it seems as Nadia (who has ALWAYS been in love with him) has informed him she is in love with Matt and is going to propose to him. He had his wild year and he is ready to settle down with her and get married like they had planned... How did their plans go wrong?! Does she not care about him anymore?! He has come to Sapphire Falls to stop her from making a huge mistake and ruining both of their lives.

I love how everyone in Sapphire Falls is always looking out for each other (if the help is wanted or not!) And always has everyone's best interests at heart! I have never personally found a town like it but I know others that have and am really glad these places do actually exist :) This is a well thought out and heartwarming series that will suck you in and keep you wanting more! And I sure do want (make that NEED) more and will be anxiously awaiting the next book I am sure to devour in less than a day (again as I have no self control-who needs sleep anyways?) As I did with this one! It really was awesome even if I am still firmly in Club Mason! HeHe good luck replacing him Ms. Nicholas!

***This series is suitable for adult readers who enjoy detailed steamier than steamy plotcentric sex scenes in their small town contemporary romances with real world issues and ALWAYS a HEA for her very loveable and realistic characters :)

This book kept me guessing until the end.

Normally when you pick up a romance novel, you have an idea what’s going to happen. Not this time. With this novel and its many twists and turns, Erin Nicholas proved once again what a gifted storyteller she is.

When I finished Getting Out of Hand, I didn’t think Erin would be able to top herself. Mason and Adrianne were such a wonderful couple that it seemed unimaginable that she would be able to come up with a better couple.

Then I met Phoebe and Joe.

Joe, is a sexy rich boy with a checkered past. To say he’s a ladies man would be an understatement in the most extreme sense of the word. When it comes to women, Joe’s used to getting what he wants and using his money to do it.

Phoebe is loud, popular and everyone’s best friend, but she can’t seem to get a man interested in her. While all of her friends, and it seems the entire town, are hooking up and falling in love, Phoebe is helping them along while wondering what’s making everyone look past her. Turns out there’s a big reason Phoebe’s been so unlucky in love all these years and it’s going to be Joe who uncovers that secret.

Separately, these two are quite likable. Put them together and there’s an explosive chemistry that keeps readers turning the page until the very end.

I thoroughly enjoyed the fact that Joe, the new man in town, was not only self-confident but self-aware. Joe knows the mistakes he’s made in the past and he’s determined not to make them again. It’s that determination that makes him resist the pull of Phoebe’s orbit, but as Joe soon discovers, no one can resist Phoebe.

Of course that’s not all Joe discovers. With Phoebe’s help, he sets out on a journey of self-discovery and learns how to be the man he always wanted to be.

From beginning to end, I was riveted by this book. There was witty dialogue and toe-curling sex. There was laughter and tears and some jaw dropping moments thrown in just for good measure.

I’m already salivating for the third and final book in this wonderful series.

Its been another year and its almost time for the festival again in our favorite little Midwest town, Sapphire Falls. There are rumors of a possible proposal or two but the new arrival to town is determined to stop that from happening ....and so is the towns favorite redhead. Phoebe is determined to keep her life long best friend Matt from propsing to his girlfirend Nadia because she can't stand the idea of having the man she's loved for the last three years spend the rest of his life with another woman. She will do anything, including grooming the new arrival Joe from billionare playboy into a home town country boy. Can she resist her sudden and undeniable attraction to this sexy new man and get Matt to realize he's supposed to be with her instead of Nadia? Joe came to town to stop his best friend Nadia from proposing to Matt. It's time for him to stop his wild ways and settle down and Nadia is just the woman to make that happen.... or so he thinks. Can he resist the temptaion of Phoebe who is totally his type and total trouble for him? Will Joe and Phoebe get everything they want? Or will they decide that what they need is something completely different?

This is another amazing, funny, romantic and very steamy book by Erin Nicholas and I can't wait to see what's in store for the rest of Sapphire Falls!!!

This book is suitable for adult readers only!

I loved this book! In fact I loved it more than the first one, and I loved the first one! Erin is quickly becoming one of my go to, must buy authors. This is book two in the Sapphire Falls series and while it could be read as a stand alone I would recommend reading book one Getting Out of Hand first as it introduces all the characters and gives you a better idea of the backstory And connections in the town.

I absolutely loved Joe and Phoebe! They had amazing chemistry that jumped off the page, and when they decided to do something about all that sizzling sexual tension….oh my they're seriously HOT! Phoebe loves Matt, Joe wants to marry Nadia, Matt and Nadia have been dating and are getting serious thus commences the plan to break them up. Too bad Joe and Phoebe can't keep their hands off each other. As Joe and Phoebe spend time together they tend to forget their goal, and when that goal seems to be in reach, they have to decide if that's what they really want. Even though they haven't known each other long I would still classify this as a friends to lovers type romance and I just love those.

This is a great book from a great series and a great author and I highly recommend it!

Another hit for Erin Nicholas!!! This is book two in the Sapphire Falls series and it's about Phoebe Sherwood and Joe Spencer. Joe is a sexy, dirty talking, suit and tie wearing city boy. Phoebe is the kind of person that everybody wants as his/her best friend. She's funny, witty, beautiful and she doesn't know it, and a country girl down to her toes. They start out wanting other people and discover that they can help each other get those other people but what do they do with the intense attraction they feel for each other? These two take us on quite a journey of self discovery. It's hilarious and sexy with lots of laugh out loud moments. Their chemistry is explosive and that makes the emotional pain hurt twice as bad.

Phoebe and the girls are a crazy bunch of women! We've also met more of the men from this quirky little Nebraska town. I'm loving the festival traditions. I also love revisiting characters from previous books. Sapphire Falls and its residents are much more than I expected and I can't wait to come back but first I need to check out some cherry syrup and paw print tattoos! Read it and you'll know what I'm talking about.

After reading Getting Out of Hand, I thought it would be my favorite book in the Sapphire Falls collection because I really didn't believe that Mason and Adrianne could be topped….. Then I read Getting Worked Up and realized how mistaken I had been. I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book and have a new found respect for cherry syrup and lollipops!

She loves him and he loves her. Sounds like the perfect recipe right? Unfortunately for Phoebe and Joe that’s not the case. Let’s break it down…. Phoebe loves Matt, Joe loves Nadia, and Matt and Nadia love each other. So what do you do in Sapphire Falls when the one you love is in love with someone else? You hatch a plan to break them up of course!

It seems Phoebe and Joe make the perfect team. Phoebe’s gorgeous, over the top, aggressive, and a native who knows all about Matt while Joe is sexy, reserved, charming, the willing-to-let-Phoebe-do-whatever-she-wants type, and he knows everything there is to know about Nadia. Will that be enough to break up the happy couple?

Getting Worked Up is the second book in the amazing Sapphire Falls series by Best Selling author Erin Nicholas. And as usual, Erin has written a book that makes you laugh, fall in love with her hero, and want to be BFFs with her heroine!

Getting Worked Up brings big city born Joe to Sapphire Falls to stop the woman he loves from marrying someone else. Phoebe convinces Joe that he can't go in there guns blazing...he needs to be the small town guy that Nadia really wants. Phoebe sets out with good intentions to help Joe be that man, but with the help of a little Strawberry wine, a fiery personality to match her red hair and the promise of some cherry syrup, Phoebe and Joe just might realize that what the heart wants sometimes differs from what the brain thinks it wants!

Join Phoebe and Joe as they navigate Sapphire Falls and their changing feelings for each other. It's another fantastic story that you won't want to put down!

What a wonderful story. I loved the premise of them both being interested in other people only to discover true love in their quest. It just goes to show you that love can reach out and touch you when you least expect it. Erin has a wonderful way of writing characters that make you fall in love and care about their story. I love how each of her stories are unique. Joe and Phoebe are both determined to marry other people. Phoebe is sure she's been in love with Matt forever and Joe needs a woman who tames him aka stable Nadia. Only problem is Matt and Nadia are in love with each other. Together, Joe and Phoebe set out on a quest to dissolve Matt and Nadia's relationship, not by trying to sabotage them but to simply make them see that they each are a better choice. Joe must learns the ways of Sapphire Falls and who better to teach him than, Phoebe, the woman who has lived there all her life. One must be careful when you set out to deceive you just might fall in love.
