ARC Received from author in exchange for an honest review

I have a new book boyfriend people and his name is Tate Washington! I love when a story has me so engaged and reads effortlessly. That's exactly how Whatever You Do was to me.

Harper Lindell attempts the Internet dating world after her past failed relationships. She's the girl who has been cheated on more than once, so of course she's jaded and untrusting. She decides to mix it up in hopes of finding her special person.

Tate Washington - ladies remember that name!! He's a hard working sexy tattooed man who is definitely easy on the eyes. Tate has had to make some sacrifices himself for the sake of family. He's also had a pretty bad failed relationship which has led him to become more focused on work and future plans.

Harper and Tate frequently see each other at the coffee shop where Tate works. He likes her and she's certainly smitten by him, but she's hesitant to even think about Tate romantically. She think he's just like all the other guys she's been with. Meanwhile Tate gets a front row seat for all of Harper's dates which are hilarious.

This story is so funny at times. It's a sweet romance with just the right amount of angst and steam. Tate and Harper are very likable. The banter between them is excellent and kept the story moving. Tate will no doubt have you swooning. He's committed to convincing Harper to give up this silly pursuit for a guy because he's the one. Even though Harper has insecurities and baggage that doesn't push Tate away.

I enjoyed every minute of it this story. Although this is book two in the Try Again series it can be read as a standalone (I did!)

Well ok, first of all I love how the author brought Harper and Tate's story, they are amazing toghether but...

I has some issues with Harper's insecurities, at some point I wanted to slap her so hard, she was trying to see thing where there were none, it kind of drove me crazy, like really crazy.

Tate is everything a super hot sexy male should be, kind, thoughtful sweet, tender and full of passion, I am sooo in love with Tate!!

He does everything in his power to keep Harper happy and secure.

******* Excerpt *******

“Andrew?” I question as I reach the table.
“Yes. Harper, hello.” He shakes my hand and the first thing I notice are his warm eyes. They are gentle and sincere and I feel instantly comfortable with him. “Take a seat, please.”
He gestures to my seat before pulling it out for me to sit in. I smile up at him in thanks for the chivalrous action as I slide into the chair.
During our emails back and forth this week, Andrew and I had figured out that we are from similar small towns not far from each other. We laugh about all the misguided town folk and the classic ‘types’ every town has. The town clown who has thought of every invention under the sun, the do-gooder mayor, the old lady gossip group, and the crazy minister and his family. Of course I didn’t laugh at that last one, as true as it is, being the daughter of a minister and all.
“So what do your parents do?” Andrew asks.
“Umm.” I stall looking for a distraction, not wanting to make to him feel bad.
“What can I get you guys?” Tate offers and I’m grateful for the interruption.
“Oh gosh I haven’t even looked yet,” Andrew says as he picks up the menu from the table.
“Just the usual for me please.” As my eyes reach Tate’s his are wide with horror. I sit upright at the urgency in his expression wondering what the hell is going on.
He nods his head in Andrew’s direction and I glance over. Andrew is studying the menu oblivious to mine and Tate’s silent conversation.
I look back at Tate giving him a ‘what’ look as he scratches his head then stiffly nods back in Andrew’s direction.
I sigh frustrated and look back at Andrew. He looks up from his menu and smiles at me before turning to Tate and placing his order.
I still don’t see a problem and look back to Tate with a ‘just fucking tell me’ look.
He begins running his hand through his hair as he harshly nods in Andrew’s direction again. I don’t even bother looking at Andrew again, knowing I’m not going to see anything different than before.
With wide eyes and a clenched jaw, I get out through gritted teeth, “I think that’s all.”
Tate sighs heavily, clearly frustrated and storms away from the table.
I shake my head and when I turn back to Andrew he is staring at me in confusion. “Sorry,” I giggle embarrassed he witnessed that final interaction between Tate and me.
“No worries.” He is sweet but his voice is wary. Tate and I probably looked like two mute idiots. How humiliating.
Andrew seamlessly continues our conversation. I use this opportunity to study him and search for the meaning of Tate’s irrational display.
I didn’t really focus on Andrew’s features before. He’s not ugly, but he’s definitely not in the same calibre as Tate or Glenn.
Now that I’m looking closer at him, there is something off about his looks. I can’t put my finger on it but something doesn’t fit. It has to be something small like his eyes aren’t in line or his facial features are too far apart, maybe bad teeth or ears that are too big or small, but I can’t see any of that. All his features seem symmetrical and in proper proportion to his face, but something is definitely not right.
Out of the corner of my eye I see Tate flailing his arms about. I shoot a glance his way trying not to be noticeable only to see he is frantically running his hand through his hair before tugging on the ends. No, tugging is too tame, he is pulling hard on his hair.
I glance around the café and no one has seemed to notice Tate’s complete and mental breakdown. He’s lost it. Maybe it’s all the coffee fumes, they are really strong in here.
When I look back towards Tate he is on his way over to the table carrying our hot drinks. I roll my eyes at his determined stare and wonder what antics he has planned for us this time.
Tate doesn’t falter as he strides towards the table and proceeds to drop a hot cup of coffee all over the table and into Andrew’s lap. I gasp in shock at what is unfolding in front of me. Andrew jumps from his seat, squealing like a small girl. I watch horrified as his hair falls off his head and lands on the table in front of me.
My mouth drops open as I just stare at Andrew’s toupee lying in spilt coffee. Glancing up at Andrew I see the heat rising on his face and shiny bald head. I smile awkwardly at him as I pick up his hairpiece and hold it out to him as if it’s a pair of dirty underwear and I can’t stand to touch it.
He quickly swipes it from my hand and places it on his head, but not before I notice his whole head, bright red in mortification. It’s like a beacon calling in planes for landing. Andrew stares at me, his hairpiece on backwards and coffee leaking from it, dripping all down his face.
“I’m so sorry Andrew,” I whisper, as I place both my hands over my mouth. Shit, I can feel the laughter rising.
“No, I’m sorry Harper.” My gut churns on his behalf at the humiliation he must be feeling. The silence of the café surrounds us, lucky it’s not overly busy at this time of night. Andrew glares at Tate who smiles and raises his hands innocently, before Andrew storms out of the café not breathing another word, just leaving a trail of coffee in his wake.
“You’re welcome,” Tate says casually as he pulls a clean chair up to the table, before relaxing back into it and crossing his ankles in front of him.

Tate Washington *sigh* Where on earth do I start, trying to form sensible comments on Tate Washington is hard. Big time hard.
Anyway, focus Louise. Whatever You Do is book 2 in the Try Again series, book 1 was Saxon and Brooke's story and I totally loved it. I didn't think, after reading Wherever You Will Go that it could get much better. I was so wrong.

This time, the story follows Harper, the bubbly, sexy receptionist who worked with Brooke and Saxon. She was sweet and funny and I absolutely knew her story would be crazy entertaining.

Harper seems to be having full on, crappy luck. From job fails, to huge boyfriend fail, all in the space of one day. This called for a change, something new and different. She decides to try internet dating!
So begins the most hilarious yet shocking visual of internet dating at it's very worst. I was in hysterics following poor Harper's lousy excuse for dates. Some of the very worst specimens seemed to be lining up for coffee with Harper, and it was all seen by Tate. Tate is what should be known as the 'Coffee shop god'. He is perfection in Male genes, and covered in ink, which helps masses. Did I mention he is totally loaded but doesn't show off about it. Yup, perfect.

Tate owns the coffee shop that Harper meets all her dates at, so he gets to watch along with all the disasters.
Although Tate has made it more than obvious he would happily take Harper out, she is determined to find herself a man who wants something more than fun. Yet this doesn't seem to stop the huge amount of sizzling, chemistry between them.

Tate’s jaw tightens as he sits eerily still and just stares at me. So still I can see the muscle in his jaw tick and the pulse in his neck throbbing.
My eyes begin travelling and I can’t help but appreciate the site in front of me. Butterflies begin to stir low in my belly and I feel warmth moving up my cheeks. Great, another completely inappropriate crush for me to harbour.
No matter what I can’t let anything happen with Tate Washington.

Harper is convinced Tate wants nothing more than a fling with her, she is totally wrong. It's obvious Tate likes Harper a lot, and is determined to show her.

Tightening my hold around Harper’s waist I pull her closer against me. Her body is tense in my arms and even though I’m happy that I affect her, I’m not happy with how. I want her to feel comfortable with me. To melt when she’s in my arms. Turn to liquid and trust I’ll hold her up.

From snort giggles, to blushing squirming, to huge sighing, this book takes you through stupid amounts of emotions. I loved the characters, and how Harper is so normal and down to earth. She is gorgeous, but doesn't know it. She has insecurities like anyone else, and is so unbelievably sweet but not in a tacky and irritating, over done way.
Tate is.. well a coffee shop god, what more can I say? But, he is not only gorgeous but a really great character. Believable and honest. Stupidly sweet to Harper, which makes me strangely jealous that I don't have a Tate of my own, to tuck in my pocket. Too weird? Oh and also to top it off, he has a growling alpha side that comes out from time to time. Perfect!!!

I fell in love with Stephanie Smith's writing in Wherever you will go, and it only got better in Whatever you do. She is fast becoming one of those author's, that you know you will love anything that they write. Steph brings out all the best aspects in her books, but makes them bigger and better the next time around. I don't think I'll forget the scripture show down in a hurry. Stupidly entertaining!!

There most definitely was not a dull moment in Whatever you do. It was full on incredible scenes, panty wetting humor, and characters that stick in your mind for a long time. I can't wait for whatever Stephanie Smith brings out next.
Hugely recommended. Sigh-worthy romance, with smoking hot scenes, and a huge dose of the funnies. 5 massive stars!!

Butterflies erupt in my belly as he stalks towards me. The excitement, nervousness and anxiousness all flow together to create the perfect high. I step backwards into the wall as Tate cages me in with his hands pressed to the wall either side of my head.

~ 5 Daisy Stars ~

Whatever You Do is the second book in Stephanie Smith's Try Again Series. This book can be read as a standalone and I think Stephanie does a wonderful job filling in the blanks from the past characters in book 1. If you want to full feel of the previous characters then I would say read book 1 before going into this book. Saxon and Brooke are in this book quite a bit.

I have to say I enjoyed this book so much more than the first. A lot of it had to do with the AMAZING Hero Tate. He was a sweet, loyal, loving, tattooed dirty talker ;) Can't go wrong there. I loved that we got a lot more of Tate's POV in this book then we did of Saxon's in book 1. It was great to know what Tate was thinking while watching Harper on her dates. This was a fun, sweet and sexy love story between two people who have a hard time trusting others because they have been wronged in the past.

What I really enjoyed was that this story wasn't loaded down with a lot of outside drama. The drama that is created was really created by Harper and her insecurities. I didn't blame Harper for her trust issues, but I thought Tate proved himself many times over that he wasn't like the past guys she dated. Tate proved that he was the one who was going to fight for her and be the one who stuck around. I honestly could go on and on about Tate. He has to be one of my favorite book boyfriends.

Harper on the other hand kind of aggravated me after a while…not enough to dampen my enjoyment of the story, but I did want to smack her a couple times. Harper is a person who struggles with trust and with good reason. Her parents, especially her dad, don't approve of her choices and plus every boyfriend she has had has ended up cheating on her. So after finding her most current boyfriend Aiden in the middle of passion, she decides she wants more control over the guys she meets and tries online dating. Wow what a mess this is!!! The best thing that came out of that was she met and got to know Tate because she would meets these men at his cafe. I think the one thing I would've liked to see more of, was Harper's growth throughout the story. I truly felt that by the end she was still struggling with the trust issue and was willing to run away before talking things out. Even with that said I really liked her and Tate together and was happy with the way their story ended.

I also liked seeing Saxon and Brooke in this book. It was great seeing them so happy after the struggles they faced in their own book. I am now looking forward to Lana's story!!!

I would recommend this book to anyone who is looking for a fun, easy and sexy read without all the added drama and will leave you with a smile on your face.

This is a book about a sweet and kind girl, Harper, who is hungry for pure and unconditionnal love but has a very bad luck in love as all the men she's been with, despite giving off perfect boyfriends' facade, were all cheating on her. So she goes on an online dating crusade to find REAL love, the ONE. Her battle ground, her favorite cafe where she feels safe enough to meet her dates, but also where works the most handsome, hotest guy she ever met: Tate. Even if she can admit to herself, and even to him, that she kind of lust on him, she's convinced that he's not the right guy for her, especially when he has a lot of women throwing themselves at him. Let's say Harper has huge trust issues, with good reasons I would say. She knows it, embraces it and doesn't hide it.

Now Tate... From the first time he met Harper during one lunch delivery to her former workplace, he felt attracted to her beauty and her sunny and happy disposition. So now he has her coming into his cafe to meet other guys and the first thing he thought of asking in a bid to woo her, and after learning about her trust issues, is to go home with him for sex (seriously??!!) Only asking for a date when she pointed out how he never did in the first place.

And there lays my problem with this book. I didn't feel like Tate fought enough for Harper. He just kind of waited for things to fall into place. After first meeting her, he never made a real move on her except for outrageous flirting.

During her dates, which all went hilariously, he just stayed in the background, waiting for them to go bad, and then coming up to her after, when she would be miserable about them and vulnerable, with his indecent proposition until when she would feel plowed enough to say yes. And let's be honest it worked! Twice! The first time she accepted to go for a ride with him and embarked on what I felt was the worst "non"-date ever. First he doesn't give her heads up about the fact that he ride a bike and just expect her to go along with him, and then he bring her to a very seedy place (she excused him because it had good music) where he is used to pick up his casual fling which lead to those casual flings to come up to him all through the night and further convinced Harper that he wasn't trustworthy. The second time, she was left so shaken after a date with a man with women's shoes fetish that she just went and finally had sex with him. And even after that he makes the mistake of not telling her he want something serious with her and feel hurt when she ran away.

I must admit Harper had a way of averreacting, but giving her past, it was understandable. It was up to Tate to reassure her and make her trust him. Which he sometimes made a poor job of doing by not being upfront about his ex who kept on calling him, and other small things he kept from her.

All in all, I enjoyed this book, especially the first part where we witness Harper's dates, but just not as much as the first one in the series.

In Wherever You Will Go we met Harper Lindell, friend, colleague, the kind of person you want in your corner when something goes down. In Whatever You Do, when her day goes from bad to worse, losing her job, and then her boyfriend, Harper starts to think that this may just be the catalyst she needs to effect change. Maybe the kind of guys she's always been attracted to are part of the problem, maybe she needs to change it up a bit and try new ways to meet someone.

Tate Washington knows all about sacrifice, family and focusing on work, his last attempt at a relationship ended in disaster and he has spent the time following focusing on his business. Tate looks like a sexy bad boy and despite the initial attraction Harper is determined not to fall into her old ways. But even the best intentions don't always come to fruition, Tate might just be everything she's ever needed if only she's willing to see past his self assured demeanour and bad boy good looks.

Whatever You Do is very much Harper's story, she's been able to hide behind her looks for far too long, still living with jabs of disappointment and rejection from adolescence, from dealings with infidelity and feelings of inadequacy and letting Tate in, giving him the opportunity to own her heart might be more than she's willing to give up. There's a beautiful, quiet strength in Harper, beneath the bravado, she's a young woman who wants to be wanted, dreams to be needed, not just desired, watching her journey from self doubt to strong and independent, to a woman who is willing to be fragile with the people who love her was inspired, There's often a pressure I feel for us as young women to be strong, independent, to not show emotions, be career focused and yet still want a family, and I love Harper's journey to finding the strength to give Tate a chance, and to allow herself to be fragile, vulnerable, I connected to her, I was invested, I wanted, no needed her to find her person, the one who can help her weather the storms and fight the darkness. Smith shows so much growth in her second novel and I can't wait to see what she does next.

Whatever You Do is book #2 in the Try Again series (If you haven't read book #1 yet then do it NOW) Brooke and Saxon's story.... OMG!!)

BLURB

How do you trust someone who is everything you’re trying to avoid?

Harper Lindell is having a bad day. You know, if a bad day consists of getting fired from your cushy job and then catching your boyfriend red handed playing hide the salami.

Sick of meeting the same guys over and over, Harper decides to try her luck at Internet dating. How bad could it be? Right?

Tate Washington wasn’t looking to meet anyone. Still dealing with the consequences of his one serious relationship, all he’s interested in is revamping his family’s behind-the-times café.

He didn’t plan on seeing the beautiful receptionist from Argo again, walking into his life to use his café as a dating hub, and using him as a BFF.

Can Harper really trust Tate, who is everything she thinks she needs to steer clear of?

Can Tate wait while Harper works through her insecurities and fears?

One of the things i love in a book is angst... love it. And this book definitely had it.

I really felt for Harper. Being screwed over by her douchebag ex's left her with major trust issues towards men..... well, Tate to the rescue. One thing Harper really taught me was to NEVER try internet dating LOL.

Tate was ***HAWT***. I loved how loyal he was to Harper. Overprotective and overbearing is one thing i love in an Alpha... and Tate was all that.

I absolutely loved Tate and Harper's story. I laughed, cried, got angry and totally fell in love with both of these characters.

I will be recommending this series to everyone and anyone.

I really enjoyed the first book in the series, Wherever You Will Go, and there was something about Tate that intrigued me, so I was very excited that he and Harper were getting their own book! Harper has the most crap-tastic day of her life; she gets fired and catches her boyfriend cheating. She's sick of falling for the wrong man so she signs up for Internet dating. She plans her dates at the Café where Tate works. Those first few dates are some of the funniest things I've read in a long time! Tate was thrilled to see Harper, who he calls Daisy again, until he found out why she was there. He tries to convince her take a chance and go out with him, but she believes he's a player just trying to get in her pants. Tate continues to try to wear Harper down with his sexiness, tattoos and charm. I couldn't help but love Tate and I wanted to reach in and shake her! Will Harper learn to trust before she loses the man of her dreams? Can Tate get through Harper's walls and convince her that he's the real deal? I loved this story and I love seeing Sax and Brook again! I laughed, cried and laughed some more!

"All you've offered is your dick."
His annoyed expression wears off as a grin takes over his face. "Harper, will you go on a date with me?"
"No," I state. "You're not my type."
"Really? Because the way you look at me suggests otherwise."

I want Harper more than anything I have wanted before. I just want a chance.

I have heard all the sweet words before, seen all the romantic gestures, but in the end, they meant nothing. For some reason, with Tate they mean more than anything.

"To you, Daisy. You came out of nowhere and turned my world upside down and I have never been so fucking happy."

Please note this review may contain spoilers.

WHATEVER YOU DO starts with Harper having what is probably the worst day of her life. After getting fired as soon as she arrived into work, she heads to her boyfriend’s place seeking comfort, only to catch him in the act of cheating on her. Obviously she’s angry and hurt, but even more so because he’s just the latest man in a long line of men who have cheated on her. She’s determined to find a man that’s different from her usual choice and thinks turning to online dating is the way to go. Each date is a disaster and is witnessed by Tate, the owner of the cafe where her dates take place, who’s had a thing for her since he first laid eyes on her. It takes him a while but he’s finally able to convince her to give him a chance and sets out to show her he’s unlike all the rest.

I quite liked WHATEVER YOU DO and the disastrous dates were hilarious to read. I loved Tate and thought he was amazing and so patient, but sadly Harper didn’t really win me over as her trust issues annoyed me. Apart from those issues, she’s a good person, one who’s kind, caring and loyal to those she loves. The story is told in dual POVs and also includes little snippets about Brooke and Saxon from WHEREVER YOU WILL GO. I’m looking forward to reading the next book in the series.

Tate, a tatted hawtie , falls hard for Harper, who has a bucket-load of trust issues, seriously, one more jumping to the wrong conclusion and I would have had no issue with pushing her off the ledge!! Apart from Tate having the patience of a saint, they worked well together, both finding the "missing" something within each other.

There were some humorous moments around Harper's Internet dates, a few eye-brow raising moments with bible verses being flung about like heat-seeking missiles and a swift second of WTF Harper! But, finally, a sweet *le sigh* .HEA and epilogue.

This is the second book in the series, I have not read the first one, but it still read well as a stand-alone. Enjoyable read.

First let me thank Between the Sheets Promotions and Stephanie Smith for providing me with an ARC of Whatever You Do in exchange for an honest review. In this book we get an in depth look at Harper who we met in “Wherever You Will Go”. I liked her from the start, she was the cute, quirky and highly love able receptionist at Argo. She’s the girl everyone could instantly love ‘cause she is just awesome that way.

Harper is not one for change but as her day from hell stats she is thrust into the worst ‘what the fuck’ day of her life. First, she is called into a meeting and fired from the investment company she has worked for for four years. And she thinks it has a lot to do with the fact that she is friends with Brooke and Saxon but whatever. When she leaves, well she is escorted out like a common criminal, she goes to her boyfriend Aiden’s apartment, which isn’t far from Argo. But what she finds inside only sets her heart on fire and her mind racing. Adian is home.. but he isn’t alone. He is in bed with a bimbo. So naturally Harper walks away and heads to the one safe place she knows. Brooke’s new art gallery. When she goes inside she is sent to Brooke’s office and after a little heart to heart.. Harper has a new job. One that Brook and Saxon have been offering her for months. She will start in one week. Giving her time to get herself together some.

Harper’s first day on her new job goes well and it’s not only a new start work wise its a new day for her dating life. Harper has joined an online site and has her first ‘coffee’ date tonight at her favorite coffee shop. When she settles in to wait for her ‘date’ she see’s Tate. Of course she can't help but ogle him. The times he delivered their lunch time orders to Argo she couldn't keep her eyes off of him. Seems nothing has changed. He flirts, she tries to not stare and when her ‘date’ arrives things go from good to bad. But once the dude leaves Tate is there to make her smile. The next night she has yet another disaster of a date. It’s to the point of being embarrassing but Tate comes to the rescue. He offers to help her find a guy, to weed out the bad ones. And when Harper doesn't come into the shop the next night he misses her, badly. Poor man has it bad… too bad she can’t see past his bad boy front.

After a few more bad dates Tate -not being able to watch this any longer- gives in and tells her he wants to make her forget. He gets her to come home with him. the next day though Harper has a freak out moment and runs off to work. That night though after taking her profile off the website she tries to cancel the last date she had scheduled.. but the man doesn’t let her. He is persistent to say the least. When she walks in she looks around for Tate but doesn't see him at first. As she talks to her ‘date’ Tate comes out and when he sees her he gets pissed. A few minutes pass and in all honesty Harper is too preoccupied with wanting to run to Tate to pay attention to her date. She excuses herself from the table to go and speak to Tate in his office. When he tells her he wanted a chance he didn’t mean for one night. He wanted her for as long as he could have her.

Now, as they start a new day together he asks her to stay the weekend. He really doesn’t want her to get out of his sight. After a few days Harper asks Tate to come home with her and meet her parents. Big deal? Hellll yes! And of course he agrees. The next weekend when they get ready to go he surprises Harper with a car. Well it’s ‘their’ car but really its for her. (LOL) The reception they got at first was… eh, no way to say it but cold. It was like they really didn't care that they were there until they got a good look at Tate. Tall, dark, dangerous and tatted up.. that set the preacher off. Harper and her father have a back and forth argument tossing bible verses back and forth. Its intended and a turn on to Tate.. (LOL It was kinda awesome. He gave she threw it right back at him.) While they were in town Harper took Tate to her favorite spot out by the lake, they talked, made love and had time to actually enjoy each other and the quiet. Tate also asks Harper to move in with him. Monday. No sense in wasting time.

When they get back things take a turn for the ‘OH MY GOD WHAT ARE YOU DOING’ lane of the road. (I wanted to go into the book and choke Harper.. like totes.) A fight over a misunderstanding that they both really take the wrong way has Tate walking away and Harper in a state of numb. But thank God Harper and Tate pull their shits together. That is after Harper has a chat with his sister Lana. She leaves his place going back home to find Tate sitting by her door, again. When Tate leaves her place they are headed to his, no to their place.

Months later the cafe has been updated and the new weekend schedules are up. On opening night the bands and singers entertain the group of people filing the place. Tate’s dreams are coming true as are Harper’s. She kissed many frogs until she finally found her prince.

I have to say I laughed my ass off through most of this book. I loved it, the interactions between Harper and Saxon are hysterical. They are so like brother and sister. But nothing beats the laughs I got at Harper’s effed up dates at the Cafe. I still can’t stop laughing at them. I would have given up after the second one but she gets kudos for trying. But there were many times I wanted to choke her too. And Tate, the man has a heart of gold and the ability to let the water fall from his back. I can’t wait for the next installment in this series. Stephanie has really outdone herself here!

Harper probably should have just stayed in bed. After being fired from her job, then finding her boyfriend in bed with another, there seemed to be little reason to get dressed, much less be a part of the world. Failed relationship after failed relationship has her looking for a new way to find members of the opposite sex. She decides to take to Internet dating as a way to find men she could select from based on compatibility. She quickly realizes though that things are not always as advertised, and the one that you need may have been in front of you all along.

Tate is not one for quick hookups. He’s been on the receiving end of his own heartbreak at the hands of his fiancée. When he meets Harper, then the secretary of a business that his deli delivers to, he is immediately taken with her. When she comes back to the deli months later and uses it as a place to meet her Internet dates, Tate decides to “help” her to weed them out, to watch her back. Though he finds himself hoping her dates fail so that he might have a chance with her. Problem is, Harper has a preconceived notion of the type of guy Tate is, a player just looking for hookup, which couldn’t be further from the truth. Will Tate ever get a chance with her, or will her inability to trust him end things before they even begin?

Harper’s foray into the Internet dating world comes with all of the laughs you might expect. The Internet, and the anonymity it provides, is a breeding ground for all sorts of people with issues, all trying to find love. Whether it be decades old profile pics, an inflated sense of self, or a penchant for wearing women’s shoes, Brooke realizes that perhaps dating the old fashioned way is more her style. Needless to say, reading Tate’s reaction to the losers Harper manages to attract is just as humorous as the dates themselves.

Whatever You Do is a sweet, if not slightly predictable steamy romance. I loved the character of Tate, he is probably just about everything you could ask for in a book boyfriend. Harper on the other hand…I honestly got a little tired of her lack of trust in Tate. I wouldn’t blame him for wanting to throw in the towel for feeling like he was the one constantly in the wrong. This one is a little high on the angsty meter for me, but I did enjoy the story and it was worth it just to have met Tate. The book was well written and I liked the inclusion of Brooke and Saxon from the first book in the series, Wherever You Will Go. Each book is a standalone, however I would suggest reading them in order.

**DEBBIE'S 4.5 STAR REVIEW**

This is the second book in this series. I was so happy that I was going to be able to read the second book for review because I loved the first one.

Author Stephanie Smith did not disappoint with this one either. This story is based around Harper and Tate but was really happy to see the main characters from the first book were back in this one.

Harper’s life was no cakewalk. Her father was a minister and she grew up in a very religious family. After she moved out it didn’t get easier. She went from one cheating loser to the next. She decided to go another route after several failed relationships and try online dating. This is when the story really gets good.

“Daisy, you are way too beautiful to nee to find dates online.”

“Seriously, Daisy, why in the hell are you so desperate for dates? You bat-shit crazy or something? Fuck, I’ll take you back to my apartment right now.”

Let me also say there was a few times I wanted to smack Harper upside the head. I understood were her insecurities come from but I felt she wasn’t even willing to take a chance.

“Every relationship I have entered into since has ended the same way. Some form of lying, cheating, or deceit.”

I loved Tate. He was balls to the wall committed into getting Harper or as he called her Daisy to give him a chance. She put him into the group of manwhores like her past boyfriends and tried to keep him at arms length. The thing is, Tate was not having it and eventually broke down her walls and was able to talk her into giving him a chance. Tate was not only honest but super sweet and did things for Harper that no man has ever done. He also called her on all her shit and didn’t let her get away with any crap.

“Is it totally wrong I’m hard as a rock after watching you quote all that scripture?”

At 60% the tension started to build and my stomach was starting to flip and ache. I was afraid things were going to go down hill and I was not going to like what was going to go down. The book hooks you from the start and I devoured it. I needed to know what was going to happen! It didn’t contain lots of useless information it was full of all the needed detail to make it one fantastic read.

“In a few shorts week, Tate Washington has walked into my life and turned it upside down. He picked up all of he pieces of my broken heart and made something out of them.”

I cannot wait for the next book in this series because I have a feeling it is going to take me on another emotional rollercoaster ride that I will not want to get off.

“I know deep down this is it. He’s broken me. I’ll never recover from this. The straw that broke the camel’s back. Tate Washington is exactly who I thought he was. I wish I had listened to my head all those weeks ago when it was holding up the red warning flag, telling me to stay away from him.”

4 stars. This book really draws you in from page one and you can’t help but fall in love with the characters as you go along!! Great series!!

Harper has been unlucky in love, cheated on, and just horrible relationships. So she decides to give internet dating a chance. Tate is a ladies man, tattooed and extremely hardworking. He too has had a sketchy dating past. Harper and Tate keep running into each other at the coffee shop that Tate works at. And they are attracted to each other from the get go. Unfortunately she thinks he’s just like all the other guys she’s been with. And lucky for Tate he gets to watch all of her internet dates unfold in front of him. This story is sweet and romantic, not to mention totally funny at certain points. This series is a lot of fun to read and I’ve enjoyed it immensely!

5 STARS!!!

**I receieved and ARC for an honest review.**

This is an awesomely sweet and romatic read and it is funny too! I loved everthing about this book right off the bat.

This book starts off with Harper have the crapiest day with crap just piling up on top of more crap. It was enough to make her decide she needed to make a change and that change was to try internet dating. Really, she decided her way of meeting me hasn't worked out for her so she wanted to give internet dating a shot. Well, lets just say that her internet dating escapades are all very awesome, but none of them seemed to work out. While she is dead set on this endeavor she really gets to know the guy who works at her favorite cafe, Tate.

We met tate briefly in book one, Wherever You Will Go, and I knew he sounded delicious then. Even only with his brief appearance. Well, Miss Smith did not dissappoint in any area of Tate's character. I loved this guy. Even though he had the typical heartbreaker looks and Harper did seem to think that was exactly his MO. It was all an illusion, because Tate is the sweetest and sexiest BBF I have read in awhile. I loved everything about his personalilty. He knows what he wants and he was bound a determined to get it. What I loved most though is the way he respected Harper enought to wait her out until he decided enough was enough. I LOVED that about his character. I also loved all the dirty sexy things that came out of his mouth that made Harper blush. Even with all of her trust issues of past releationships and the things her parents made her feel I really loved Tate's ability to open her up and make her realize that not all men would eventually screw her over.

I really enjoyed getting to know Harper and Tate and reading their story. Miss Smith did not dissappoint in any area of this book. I loved all the push and pull and how the author made it all so beleivable. I really look forward to more of this series!

If you were to look up the definition of BAD LUCK in the dictionary, next to it you would find a picture of Harper. She's got a rock chick type of vibe to her from her short black bob to her eccentric, yet fashionable clothing choices. Harper is fiercely loyal to her friends and loved ones, but she's also pretty sensitive. And she has the worst luck ever.

In the beginning of Whatever You Do, I did get a little confused. We went from her working with her closest friends at a company that her friend owned to the next chapter her getting fired from said company by someone else. It is all eventually explained, but I think it should have been done in the beginning.
Now let me get to the mysterious yet sinful Tate. We meet him in the very beginning when he delivers lunch to Harper and her friends. He's immediately drawn to her. He's very flirtatious and ca come across as a playboy, but once you get to know him, he'll win you over with his endless charm and boyish good looks.
Both he and Harper have been hurt in the past and try to keep themselves guarded. Tate wants nothing more than for Harper to give him a chance, but she's reluctant. After a series of horrible online dating attempts, she finally relents, hoping this isn't something that will ruin the great friendship that has formed.
I loved this story once I got past the beginning. Some of these guys that Harper went on dates with truly just amazed me. They were horrible. Once she gave Tate a chance, she realized what she was missing. I just hate that it was so hard for her to trust him. I know her past would make anyone a little jaded, but sometimes you just have to take life by the horns and hold on.
All in all, I loved the chemistry between them and how he wasn't willing to take no for an answer and let her get away. This is truly a romance that will have you smiling and happy that these two were happy and willing to give love another chance.

* * ARC received on behalf of obsessed by books for an honest review * *

harper has had the worst day of her life she's lost her job and just walked in on her boyfriend having sex with another girl and she's not that upset that he cheated it's that he didn't think much about her. Harper is starting to wonder what's wrong with her cause this is twice she's been cheated on, I mean what is she doing wrong, so harper decides to join a dating Web site to see if her luck will change. she just didn't realize is would right in front of her.

Tate Washington is a wholesome sexy man who has had his heart broken , so he's not big on love, not saying it won't happen he's just not looking for it right now, but little did he know one delivery and a date later he would meet the love of his life.

Before harper loss her job, she was a secretary and the office she worked at would always order from this iltalian restaurant, well this one day the delivery boy was different he was gorgeous and they both just stared at each other. Tate felt somthing in that stare, he just couldn't explain it.
Harper is on her first Internet date and she decided to me him at her favorite restaurant while waiting, she sees tate, he's working so he goes over to talk to her and she's ends up telling him what she's doing, so these dates don't go so well and tate has agreed to help, but he is also trying to get her to go out with him, cause he doesn't want to become her BFF. this book is a five star for sure, I loved how this characters bounced off each other, it was funny, sweet and sexy we all could use a tate Washington in our lives . I really enjoyed it and will definitely be recommending this book.

I absolutely adored Whatever You Do. This was a funny and cute story that had a new spin on things. Harper is having a bad day. Not correct that, Harper is having a REALLY bad day. She has been fired, caught her boyfriend cheating and now has no place to live. If it could go wrong for Harper, it does. The poor thing can't seem to catch a break from anywhere.

When Harper tries to get her life in order and move on, she makes a decision that will include Internet dating (which I think is not a great decision when you are already down). She figures it can't get much worse that she has already dealt with. Boy is she wrong!! The men she meets online are liars and losers. Is there really no good single men left out there??

The only thing that seems to be going good, is that she meets up with Tate Washington again. She used to frequent his cafe while she was at her old job. She thinks of Tate as just the delivery guy. She manages to set up her Internet dates at the cafe where Tate works because it is familiar. Seeing each other so much has built a friendship between Tate and Harper. Tate has always had a crush on Harper and hates seeing her dating all these losers, when he knows she should be giving him a chance. All he can do is sit back and watch her disastrous dates take place and waiting for the tight time to make his move.

If Harper can only see what is right on front of her, instead of what could be out there. Both Harper and Tate have been hurt by the ex;s in the past. If they are willing to open themselves up and give each other a chance, it could be the best thing that ever happened to both of them.

I loved this quirky story about all the ups and downs life can hold and finding what has been right in front of you the whole time.

This had some hysterical moments. Each date that Harper had were so funny they will have you crying from laughing so hard. the one good one was when she finally realizes Tate is what she wants even after fighting it completely.

Tate is the sweet kind guy who didn’t deserve to be judged the way Harper did. this was the one thing about Harper that got to me-she judged Tate based on her past relationships and than continued to do so even after they got together. She never quite trusted him. Never quite thought he was true to his word and loved her. She almost ruins a good thing for her pride and wanting to be stuck in her past. Tate never gave her a reason not to believe in him. Harper for half the book is what she claims she isn’t-she is judging Tate without giving him a chance and justifying it because of her past experiences saying he is just like the others.

You feel for Tate because he sits there and watches Harper continuously go on these horrible dates and supporting her along the way. Even after he thinks she finally will give him a chance she goes on a date and that hurts Tate but he being the kind and sweet guy he is understands due to her past and accepts what she did. Even after instead of listening to him as to why he was having lunch with a woman she ran away he waited for her and explained. Even after she did what she did at the end he understood. This is a sweet understanding guy. harper in some ways deserved him but others not because of how she continuously lumped him with her past.

This is the story of harper letting go of the past and finding love.

A fun sweet romance that will have you laughing at her online date meets, smiling at tate and his romantic and sweet understanding ways.

I really enjoyed the first book in this series and this story definitely lived up to my expectations.

Harper is having the day from hell, she has just been fired from her job. Seeking comfort and a sympathy she ends up at her boyfriend's house only to find he is busy giving another girl attention, of the physical kind. This is not the first time she has been cheated on and this latest betrayal is the final straw.

Men are cheating bastards who can't be trusted and she obviously keeps picking the bad ones. Harper decides to give internet dating a go. The cafe she meets her dates at is owned by Tate, the hot guy who used to occasionally deliver her lunch at work.

Harper enthusiastically jumps into a series of dates and OMG it is like watching a comedy movie. Seriously, I was laughing out loud at the situations she got herself into. Tate is there on the sidelines giving her feedback and advice, just to add to the stress levels.

What if the person you are looking for is right in front of you? Can Harper let go of her insecurities and preconceived notions about men and take a leap of faith with a man that would do anything to have her entrust him with her heart? Maybe she is just destined to be a cat lady and live alone for the rest of her life.

This is a really funny, romantic and yet, very sexy read. A story about letting go of the fear and just trying again

For all of the Saxon and Brooke fans, you will be please to know know that they regularly pop up in this story so you will be able to see what's happening in their lives now.

Harper Lindell is having a heck of a bad day. Not only did she get fired from her job, but she goes to her boyfriend's house and finds him in a very compromising position with another woman.

After accepting a new job working for her friends Brook and Saxon, she decides to give internet dating a go and see if things fair better than her last relationship. Some of her "dates" happen to be at a coffee shop where Mr. Tate Washington works.

Tate is helping his family revamp their cafe and has not interest in dating since he's still dealing with the aftermath from his last relationship. Tate is handsome, a great guy and all about sacrificing for his family. Can he convince Harper to give him a chance and forget about all her internet flings? Will Harper be able to trust him?

This ended up being a very cute story once I got pass the first couple of chapters. I didn't read the first book of this series so I wasn't familiar with the characters. I had a hard time relating to Harper at the beginning, but little by little I starting warming up to her, and once I got the whole picture I was a fan. Her dates are pretty funny, but realizing that through the internet she could encounter all kinds of guys she decides that the old fashioned way is the only way.

I adored Tate, he's absolutely the whole package, including the heart of gold.

Failed dates, a chance at trust again and realizing that sometimes what you've been looking for is what this book is all about.

This book is part of a series but can be read as a standalone.

Well done, once again Stephanie! Another story that I fell in love with.

Whatever You Do's characters include Harper and Tate that we catch little glimpses of in the last book. I'm so happy that Harper got her own book because I loved her personality in the first book.

Harper's day doesn't seem like it could get any worse. First she is fired from her job, the taxi driver causes her to drop her box in the street and then she finds her boyfriend cheating on her. She gets the idea to try online dating. Harper ends up going on numerous dates, that end with her going home by herself and even hiding in the bathroom! The only that that makes her dates even bearable is that she may catch a glimpse of Tate. Tate works at the cafe were Harper meets her online dates. He is pretty thrilled that he is able to finally she Daisy again. Even though, Harper continues to go on her dates, he continues to try to convince her to go on one date with him. He continues to wear her down until she finally has to give in.

I loved that this story does not have a lot of drama in it. This story has both POVs, so you are able to look into Tate's mind, as well as Harper's. This story had me laughing so hard at times, but had my heart breaking for Tate as he tried so hard to break down Harper. Does she give in and finally realize that Tate may be what she needs? Will she finally look past his devilish good looks and "playboy" ways?

Whatever You Do is a perfect read for those lazy, rainy days. It's light, fun, and sexy. While the characters' relationship progresses quickly, it seems natural. The author gave the story a nice pace.

The story starts out and poor Harper has a very, very bad day. However, I did find myself chuckling at her expense. Wait. Let me back up a little... It actually starts out when Harper is working and she first meets the delicious Tate. I was honestly a little confused at the way the book started out. This is the second book in the series and while this can be read as a stand alone, it took me a second to catch up. (I did not read the first book.) Fast forward several book months and we are at Harper's bad day.

Her bad day leads her to give online dating a go. This leads her to the café that Tate works at. The café it's her meeting place for all her disastrous, hilarious dates. Poor Tate just sits back and watched the girl he wants go through it. Well, kinda. He finally takes matters into his own hands and decides to go for her.

Through lots of bumps, and holy moly, a lot of hot sex the two navigate their new found relationship. These two are great for each other. There are many funny moments with them. Their feelings jump off the page and pull you right into their story. I really enjoyed this book. The author's tone was great and I can't wait to read more by her.

Brilliant!
After reading the first book in this series I knew that I wanted to read the second in the series, but after the emotional roller-coaster that I rode in the first book I was bracing myself to read this book. Almost Night and Day! This book is a totally different flavor than the first, not that the first wasn't good, it wasn't... it was amazing!, but so is this installment. It is much more lighthearted and fun, even though it wasn't all light and laughter, there were those teary eyed moments that I now associate with this author. In a good way. I absolutely fell in love with Tate, he is a totally sweet, swoon-worthy guy, and he really gets into your heart. You have to feel bad for him and really super root for him to get his HEA. I also liked Harper but she was so frustrating at times, I just wanted to reach into the pages and shake the heck out of her, while at other times I just wanted to hug the crap out of her. The two of them have dynamic chemistry, and I just wanted then to be together. This story is all about love and trust, and taking chances. I definitely recommend this book and can't wait for the next book in the series, How My Heart Breaks. I have a feeling I'd better be stocking up on the tissues again just from reading the blurb. I was fortunate enough to be given a complimentary copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.

Ever have one of those days where it can’t get any worse…and then it does? Harper’s day is just like that. Starts off by being fired from her job and then catches her boyfriend Aiden cheating on her. What’s a gal to do? Online dating! Harper sets up her blind online dates at the cafe where she used to order her lunch from. Tate is the yummy guy who works at the cafe. He oozes bad boy and is exactly what she is used to. Harper decides she can’t fall for Tate. After numerous awful dates and still refusing Tate’s offers to go out, Harper finally agrees to go on a date with him. They have a great time but Harper still struggles with trust issues. Harper starts to see a lot of women around Tate and can only assume the worst. Tate says he is different but she just can’t past her issues. Can Harper learn to trust in love again or will she be left alone?

This book…..wow! I love Harper! I cried and laughed. The story really was great. We all have those issues that we struggle with. The author did a wonderful job with bringing back the characters from the first book and also creating new ones for this one. This book is a must read! I highly recommend and give it 5 stars!

Oh my. One word. Tate❤️ Talk about sexy.
Harper's day starts out with being fired from her job. She heads to her boyfriends apartment looking for sympathy only to catch him in the act with another women. She runs of to her former boss now best friend Brooke for comfort who ends up giving her a job at her gallery. Having her confidence back she decides to place an add on an Internet dating site and arranges to meet her dates at a local cafe where she runs into Tate again whom she met when he delivered lunch once to her former place of employment. Hmmm Tate, exactly he kind of man she needs to stay away from. Little does she know that Tate has had his own bad experiences with relationships and is not interested in a one night stand. Tate offers to coach Harper with her blind dates after being turned down himself when he asked her on a date. Flirting vigorously with her he gets nowhere with her until that one night, after yet another catastrophic date, in the kitchen of the cafe where she can't withstand the attraction any longer. Their relationship evolves fast and furious but is not without its challenges from Harper's insecurities to pasts girlfriends and her parents. A sweet, sensual, sexy story. I really enjoyed the read and Tate is one sexy character. Congrats Stepanhie❤️

Whatever You Do is book two in the Try Again series. It can be read as a stand alone. I didn't read the first one and I wasn't lost. Brooke and Saxon have their story in the first book (Whenever You Will Go) and are also in this book. Whatever You Do is Harper and Tate's story.

I was hooked right from the beginning. Harper has gotten fired from her job and heads to her boyfriend's apartment. She walks in on him with another women. I wasn't sure whether to be horrified or laugh at the way Harper caught Aiden cheating. I knew right then that Harper was going to be an interesting character. I loved her. She is a strong woman. After being burned by Aiden she tries to keep her heart guarded. She decides to try internet dating. Some of the messages she gets from potential dates are very funny.

Tate runs the cafe that Harper uses to meet her dates. He is has been hurt in the past and isn't looking to date. They became friends but it's only a matter of time before it becomes more than a friendship. Both Harper and Tate have bed pass relationships that causes problems for them.

Whatever You Do is a great sweet story.
