My Summary:
Lorin Perez thought her life would never be the same after what happened 6 years ago… The moment she meets Spence Clarke, a super hot professional rugby player, her life seems to be taking a turn.
With her father starting a new family, she decides to follow Caitlin, her best friend, to UK— the homeland of not just Spence but also Nigel.
Nigel Whitmore, a Gezellig band member, who didn’t pull through 3 years before. But now that Nigel is given a second chance with Lorin, he’s not backing down.
With a choice of feeling safe or feeling alive, two perfect guys by her side, will she make the right choice?

My Thoughts:
After reading The Real Score, I was just totally obsessed with Caitlin and Marcus. Their love story was just so intense and UGH. LOVE. THEM. So I was very excited to delve into this book cause I know I’d be seeing more of them…
At first, I didn’t care much about Lorin, I was like. “I want more Cait and Marcus!” but Lorin’s love story gave me all the feels in the world I didn’t expect. First Lorin’s no commitment thing… THAT WILL NEVER EVER WORK! Gosh. She is so indenial. She’s been dating Spence for years and she still thinks their not exclusive. THAT’S JUST CRAZY! Anyone with eyes can see that you guys are together, woman!!
Spence is just this wonderful guy who was with Lore when she was broken. He healed her and took care of her. He is super uber sweet! He is a nice guy so I can understand the struggle of Lore. The struggle of choosing…
I’m Team Nigel! There is just something about musicians that get to me. Gosh, if someone serenades me (with books surrounding him) I would marry him right away. I’m very biased but HELLO. Any one who has eyes and a heart would swoon over Nigel. HE IS JUST SO HOT! He sings come on! But what he did to Lorin at first, I didn’t like it AT ALL. It annoyed the heck out of me. But he did show he was sorry sooo… I forgave him. lol
Lore starts dating two guys at once (the non-commitment girl). OF COURSE it won’t work! Men are territorial. They don’t like sharing!! It sucks that one of them has to get hurt. Caitlin already warned you Lore but you didn’t listen!!!
In this book, you will know Lore’s past. I was really sad and annoyed at THE guy! He was an ass for doing what he did. She wasn’t able to move on from this but with the help of… she will.
When she finally chooses, she does this grand gesture that made me AHHHH! I couldn’t handle it. I loved what she did. It was really really cute and sweet!! I gotta hand it to Lore. It was a pretty smart idea! LOVED IT!
But then the ending… I thought it was happy then another twist comes. When will the twists end?!
What’s great about Kesh’s books are the songs you could listen to before each chapter begins! It really does set the mood and make you feel each chapter more. I loved this book. I was just smiling and laughing and being all in love. It reminds us that we should let go of our past and move on. It’s the only way to be better. I CAN’T wait for the 3rd book!

In (un)breakable, we get to know more about about the life of Caitlin Tan's best friend, Lorin Perez. The Lorin from book 1 was a go-getter, a seize-the-moment kind of person who influenced Caitlin to take risks and be spontaneous. We see the same spunky Lorin in book 2, but now we see more details about her history and how this has shaped the story for (un)breakable. The story opens some time post-Caitlin's move to the UK, where Lorin is currently in an open relationship with hot rugby player, Spence Clarke.
While seeing how Lorin's relationship with Spence may seem to be smooth sailing, conflict sets in when she heads off to the UK for a very lucrative job and ultimately bumps into an old flame in the person of Gezellig band member, Nigel Whitmore. As these scenes unfold, we get to see the vulnerable side of Lorin and how deep old wounds go.
One of my personal criteria that makes a story great is how I can understand and relate to a character's inner struggles and difficulties. While I've never been in an open relationship, I still understand Lorin's pain. Although I just couldn't wrap my head around how she gets to fawn and fangirl over Nigel, the guy who did her wrong, and then get pissed at the same breath. There were a some inconsistent moments that seemed to clash with the way I perceived Lorin's character was developed. One of the things I realized after reading the story is that I think that I'm past the point of choosing "teams" in a love triangle just because it's convenient. I was hoping to see Lorin face her fears and conquer them. I wanted her to make a decision for herself and not base it on which guy makes her feel this or that. But that's just my personal thing.
I have to hand it to Kesh for eliciting such a passionate opinion in me. I think it takes great skill to bring about that kind of emotion in a reader. :)
Although I have to say that the Kesh's writing style has become more confident compared to the first book. I love how natural and fluid the narrative came to be and how it was fairly easy for me to see and appreciate how the characters have developed from the beginning to the end of the story. Kudos to Kesh as well for tackling the topic of open relationships with such courage and open mindedness.
And because (un)breakable ended on such a high tension scene, I'm really curious how the third installment would pan out.

A while back, I participated in the blog tour for The Real Score and if you read that review, you'll know that I loved the book! And I'm happy to tell you that there's a sequel to The Real Score called (Un)breakable!
(Un)breakable follows Caitlyn's best friend Lorin. This book takes place after the events in The Real Score and has Lorin torn between two guys - the rugby player Spence, and the Gezellig member Nigel. Now, this isn't a normal love triangle - Spence and Lorin (who have been dating for two years) are in an "open" relationship. Quotations because Lorin thought it was open and Spence didn't think so. Add Nigel, who's determined to win Lorin over, and you have a mess of relationships.
To be honest, Lorin was not the most endearing character. But as the book went on, I realised how much she had been hurt in the past, which resulted in how she was today. I thought that her character was developed much further in this book, and it was good to see another side to the supportive best friend role she played in The Real Score.
And not to give any spoilers, but the romance was so well-written! Normally, I'm not a fan of love-triangles, but I must say, the way that this one was resolved was done really well. I enjoyed reading it, and since I didn't favour Spence or Nigel, I didn't have a problem with who Lorin ended up.
The only complaint I have about this book is that it was so focused on Lorin and her love triangles (which, admittedly, needed the space) that it barely talked about Caitlyn and Marcus. My favourite couple! And trust me, a lot of things happened, and the biggest twist in the book for me involved Caitlyn and Marcus. It made me really eager to read the third book in the series, if only to reassure myself that these two will have a happy ending.

When I first read about Marcus and Cait in The Real Score, I had this feeling that Lorin will have her own story to tell and I’m glad Kesh Tanglao wrote this one.
From book one, we see Lorin as someone who’s always on the go and who likes to take risks and she was actually the one who pushed Cait to live a little and take a risk. It’s nice to see a different side of Lorin in this book. She’s happy-go-lucky, yeah, but I never knew that she had trust issues especially when it comes to relationships.
She has this great guy, Spence, and I must say, I totally adoooore him. It is so obvious that he only has eyes for Lorin and he clearly wants to be in an exclusive relationship but he’s sensitive enough to feel that she’s still not ready. On the other hand, there’s Nigel, another Gezellig band member, who wants Lorin back but doesn’t know how. Her moving to UK made it more convenient for him though.
I honestly don’t know what to feel towards the love triangle aspect of this book. I can’t relate to Lorin regarding the open relationship thing but I can totally understand the pain of not having a closure after a very intense, unlabeled relationship and it can really affect someone for so long. I only had some issues about Lorin’s decisions sometimes towards the middle or more than half of the story. Also, I’m happy about Marcus and Cait being present in book two, but I felt like the transitions were not that smooth sometimes and that Lorin wasn’t really the sole focus of the book. I don’t know if that was on purpose or not but I would have liked it more if they lessened some scenes of Marcus and Cait, so that we will also miss these characters a little and crave more for them in the last installment.
The ending was not a shocker for me because there were some hints that it’ll happen but I’m definitely looking forward to the next installment.

One year after the first book , Kesh is back with the sequel to the Gezellig series and Caitlin and Marcus have worked out all their problems - well most of them anyway and are living in the UK and Book #2 (un)breakable features Caitlin's best friend Lorin. After losing everything she ever knew about love and life six years ago, Lorin has been in a slump but now she has finally met someone she can see her life with in the future - UK Football player Spence. Once the pair start dating , Spence asks Lorin to move to the UK with him and she is excited at the idea as of course her best friend Caitlin is living it up in the UK with Gezellig Band member Marcus. Now living in the UK with Spence, Lorin runs into Nigel - one of the other band members of Gezellig. Nigel was the one who got away three years ago and now she has started seeing both Spence and Nigel but what will happen when they figure out Lorin's plans and what she has been up to ? Will either one stick by her side or will they both walk out on her and she will be left with no-one ? Can Lorin before it's too late figure out which guy she really deep down loves and wants to be with forever before she loses the both of them forever ?

(Un)breakable is the second book in Kesh Tanglao's Gezellig series, it talks about Caitlin's bestfriend, Lorin. I already love Lorin in the first book, she's a typical fangirl who will do anything for her idols. Haha.
This book is about a girl who do not want to commit in a relationship, which is common nowadays. Having trust issues? Yeah. Lorin was torn between Spence and Nigel, which ended up being in an open relationship which made her feelings being mixed up. The guys personalities were different, but I both like them. BTW, I'm on #TeamSpence so if you already read the book, you'll know how affected I am with the ending. (Hiding my emotions, no to spoilers!)
So the book, it's good, the story was light and I was able to read it in a day, as I remember. The story has many ups and downs of emotions, which I really like. The story was well-written. So if you love chick-lits, I will recommend this to you!
If you loved Caitlin's story, I'm pretty sure that you'll also love Lorin's, though this is more matured (a little) compared to the book one.

The growth on Kesh's writing was evident in this novella and I admired her for that. Compared to The Real Score, this story has a more mature tone with the protagonist (Lorin) dealing a deeper wound than Caitlin's predicament in Book 1. I don't want to drop names of the two love interests as it might spoil other readers, but I think if the situation is reversed between LI 1 and LI 2, she may have picked differently. I was hoping for more collision with the three of them to further put Lorin on the spot so that I could fully grasp and understand her decision. Meanwhile, Caitlin got into my nerves at some point, but I know she is just being a good friend. I also love the vocabulary "sessions" on each chapter. Overall, I only have five words for Lorin: "HABA NG HAIR MO, GIRL!" :)

(UN)BREAKABLE is the 2nd book in the Gezellig series and follows the story of Caitlin's bestfriend, Lorin. This, unlike the first has a lot more mature content. There are times when I want to praise the girl and tell "Lorin, ang ganda mo, girl" and times when I want to slap her because of her actions. I get that she went through something horrible and was hurt before but... ugh I am torn between the two LIs, too and I feel bad about how they agreed to what Lorin wants just so they can be with her. And even though they are both good guys, I feel sad about the guy whom she never chose. I hope he'll get his own happy ending the future.
