Domingo the Bounty Hunter

Sunday or the Highway

Rate this book
From the author of Danger No Problem comes the thrilling second installment of Domingo the Bounty Hunter, where playing matchmaker for an heiress proves a lot more deadly than Cupid’s arrow.

As a bounty hunter specializing in immigrants who do their status dirty, Domingo has had his fair share of dicey jobs. From traffickers peddling drugs, guns, and people to murderers and other fugitives, Domingo loves nothing more than putting the bad guys away. But his life’s not exactly fun and games.

A seemingly easy case involving a lovestruck young heiress turns out to be anything but. Tessa Woodridge, a fast-food chain CEO, hires Domingo to find the undocumented parents of Julian Alondra, the love of her life. When Tessa was eight, fourteen-year-old Julian saved her life. She always believed they were destined to be together.

It should be a cakewalk compared to Domingo’s other cases. But he soon discovers it’s not all heart eyes and sweet nothings between these two. In his line of work, you learn to prepare for everything you never saw coming—and Domingo can see it from a mile away.

Compulsively Readable - that is the best way to describe Cindy Fazzi's "Domingo the Bounty Hunter" series. I so enjoyed this book and read it in under 2 days. Here Domingo, our Filipino bounty hunter is not trying to capture illegal aliens, but instead has been hired to do surveillance for a multi-millionairess who wants to find out more about her boyfriend. You see Tessa and her family were driving across the desert when they were in an accident. Her parents were both killed and she was an 8-year old all alone and ready to be attacked by a wild coyote when out of nowhere she is rescued by Julian Alondra and he becomes her lovestruck hero. Upon taking her to the police, Julian is deported as an illegal alien. Now 14 years have passed, Julian has returned to her life and she has inherited a company that is worth close to a Billion dollars. But all she wants is find out the truth about Julian and find his parents. Sound simple, but not so since Domingo is positive that something is shady with Julian's story.. And so the hunt is on. Filled with a killer of a plot and unforgettable characters (one who whom is Tessa's sister who has cerebral palsy), This book is page-turner that continues the saga of Domino the Bounty Hunter, and it is my sincere hope that Domingo will be taking us along for many more of his cases!!

⭐️⭐️⭐️.5

This is the second book in the Domingo the Bounty Hunter series, where Domingo’s job takes him to Tessa, CEO of a food chain, asking for his help in locating Julian’s (her new boyfriend) adoptive undocumented parents. When Tessa was a young girl, she was in a car accident with her parents that left them both dead and her fate was almost the same until Julian, an undocumented immigrant crossing over the border at the same time, decided to rescue her. Many years later and the two of them reconnect and it feels like it was meant to be according to Tess. She has a soft spot for Julian but wants to hire Domingo to check up on Julian’s background since he has a tendency to be secretive about his past. So Domingo goes on an adventure searching for clues to lead him to Julian’s adoptive parents. It was so interesting seeing how Domingo uses his resources and mind to track down the parents but also to uncover a sinister scheme occurring. In comparison to the first book, I didn’t like it as much due to Domingo’s lack of personal connection with the case. The first book really made me invested when he was looking for Monica Reed, the person he had to keep looking for part of his jobs, and he eventually developed feelings for her. He does eventually make good connections with Tessa’s family and is such a great man for protecting them! Overall, this book is full of adventure and mystery and was a good read! Thank you to Get Red PR and Amazon Publishing for this arc 🫶

Thank you Getredpr, netgalley, and brilliance publishing for an ALC of Sunday or the Highway by Cindy Fazzi.

I had a great time listening to this story. Domingo is a bounty hunter specifically searching for illegal immigrants that have committed crimes. While this is book two, you do get more insight from book one in this series. However, they can be read as stand alone stories.
In this book, Domingo has a unique inquiry. He is being paid to find undocumented parents of Julian. Our FMC Teresa has hired Domingo and she has a long relationship with Julian.
For Domingo, it seems like an open and shut case, however it’s anything but.
This was intriguing, fast paced, and kept me on my toes.
If you’re looking for a quick read with drama and lots of action, this one is for you!

And we heard from ‘Sunday’ once again! The first book was originally called ‘Multo’ but was decidedly changed to Danger No Problem. I thought changing the title was the right thing to do as ‘Multo’ confused so many, thinking it was a suspense/thriller/supernatural genre as it literally translates to ‘ghost.’

Domingo ‘Sunday’ Laban is a bounty hunter. The premise is unique in a sense, because having a mainstream Filipino-American hero of our time is a first. It’s also timely, as it tackled immigration and the role of ICE in the current state of America.

Looking forward to the next installment. I hope it’s about Domingo finally settling down. 😜

I think I’m beginning to get addicted to this series just like Tessa is addicted to Julian.

Not only is each installment action-packed and incredibly informative, but each one is bursting with life as it exists in reality.

Cindy Fazzi manages to exhibit the ups and downs of familial relationships from all walks of life. From Domingo and Mamang, a typical Filipino relationship where the child is trying to maintain mental stability whilst the parent endlessly unloads the idea of what they want their child’s life to be like.

To Tessa’s role as provider for Grammy and Alice with the charade of keeping up positive appearances.

And then Julian’s relationship with his parents, which is complicated and not unheard of.

I can’t say more without spoiling because half the fun in this book is trying to piece together the answers before Domingo does but I will say the twists that aren’t twists but are turns that REALLY turn are amazing and very very done! I’m so so excited for more!

Thank you Net Galley for the eARC!

Sunday or the Highway by Cindy Fazzi is an incredible read that dives deep into the real issues surrounding immigration today. I really enjoyed how the story brought awareness to what immigrants go through, while still keeping me hooked with a strong and emotional storyline. What stood out to me the most were the transcripts at the beginning of the chapters showing the migrant assistance efforts. They added so much realism and heart to the story, making it feel more meaningful. This book manages to balance serious topics with great storytelling, and it definitely deserves five stars.

Lindas Book Obsession Reviews “ Sunday On the Highway” by Cindy Fazzi, Thomas & Mercer

This image has an empty alt attribute; its file name is img_8143.png
Cindy Fazzi, the Author of ‘Sunday Or The Highway” has written an intriguing, captivating, suspenseful mystery and thriller filled with adventure and action. The Private Investigator, or Domingo, also called Sunday, is sort of a Bounty Hunter. Domingo specializes in capturing immigrants who have done harmful or unlawful things. This is the second if the ‘Domingo the Bounty Hunter” series, and can be read alone. The author vividly describes the complex, complicated, quirky, and dangerous characters. The author writes with wit, and describes Domingo as a man of conscience, who is closed to his mother. His mother only wishes that he would date someone, marry and give her grandchildren.

In this novel, Domingo acts as a “Matchmaker” for a wealthy young woman, Tessa, who wants her to find the man that she loves. When she was 8 years old, Tessa was saved by Julian, 14 years old. She believes that Julian, who is undocumented, but went to college in the United States is the only man for her. What Domingo discovers is a trail of deceit, betrayal, danger, and murder. He also works with agents with resources at hand. This is one action-packed and thought-provoking novel that I recommend.

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ (3.75–4 rounded up)

Audiobook ARC received via NetGalley & Brilliance Audio, thanks so much!

This is book two in the Domingo the Bounty Hunter series, and I liked it just as much as the first. Domingo is still one of those MCs who’s hard not to root for: tough, smart, and with his own code of right and wrong. Yeah, he hunts down immigrants who cross the line, but he also helps the innocent ones hide, escape and even fix their status and papers. So yeah, he is pretty cool :D.

I also appreciated how the author didn’t just drop the thread of his past. Domingo is still hung up on Monica, and that personal struggle adds weight to the story.

The case itself started off looking simple: a lovesick heiress hiring Domingo to track down her boyfriend’s parents, but quickly spun into something darker with cartel ties. I think the cartel angle could’ve been a bit better, but it still kept the tension high.

And that ending… wow. Definitely not outcome I half-hoped for, but it made sense for the story. Heartbreaking, but in a way it felt like justice too.

Narration was strong and fit Domingo’s gritty, determined vibe. Easy to get lost in.

Overall: a solid follow-up, with action, moral dilemmas and just enough heartbreak to make me want book 3.

Book/Audiobook Review⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Book Series: Domingo the Bounty Hunter
Book 1: Danger No Problem
Book 2: Sunday or the Highway
Author: Cindy Fazzi

Thank you to the author @cindyfazzi, @amazonpublishing, @getredprbooks and @NetGalley for the #gifted books and audiobook.

What a thrilling, high-energy series! From start to finish, this story had me hooked. It’s exciting, fast-paced, and full of action and heart. Domingo, our charismatic bounty hunter, is one of the most unique, memorable, and empathetic protagonists I’ve read in a while. He’s tough, funny, deeply human, and his perspective brings a layer of authenticity and emotion that truly sets this series apart.

These books aren’t just diverting thrillers—they’re thought-provoking, too. Beneath the high-octane chases and danger, Cindy Fazzi explores powerful themes about undocumented immigrants, belonging, and survival. It’s a blend that works so well—sharp writing, heart-stopping moments, and a hero you can’t help but root for.

🎧 I also listened to the audiobook and highly recommend it! Ramon de Ocampo’s narration is fantastic—his accent and delivery perfectly capture Domingo’s character and bring the story to life in such an authentic, engaging way. If you enjoy audiobooks, don’t miss this one!

Cindy Fazzi’s “Sunday or the Highway” is a riveting book that keeps readers enthralled with increasing levels of suspense combined with wit. The main character, Domingo, is a Filipino American who works as a bounty hunter. He usually specializes in hunting serious criminals, including murderers and drug traffickers, but is hired by an American heiress to find her sweetheart’s undocumented parents. While the case should have been a relatively easy one, it becomes more and more dangerous and mysterious with each page. The book also includes information on immigration and Domingo’s perspectives on the timely issues facing immigrants, but it never loses any of the suspense that makes the novel so thrilling and captivating. I recommend it and its predecessor, “Danger No Problem,” which is the first book in the two-book series about Domingo. I would really love to see additional installments in the series.

I literally devoured this book in one day. I've been on a fantasy kick lately but this book was just a breath of fresh air and brought me back to the books that started my love of reading.

This book had an excellent plot with lots of amazing twists and turns. It also touched on the story of being an immigrant with class and finesse. The writer was very sensitive to this topic.

Tessa and Domingo were phenomenal characters. I would have liked to have seen a little more depth from Julian's character but overall, I loved him.

This is the first time I've ever read anything by this author and I'm super excited to see what other books she will create.

This was a four out of five star read for me.

Domingo takes a job to find the parents of an immigrant boy, Julian, who saved the life of 8 year-old Tessa, now a wealthy CEO. Is Julian really who he says he is? What is he hiding? Meanwhile, Domingo is writing a book about immigration and we are read parts of it in this audiobook. Some of the lessons in Domingo’s book seem repetitive, but the main storyline has an interesting mystery to solve.
The author incorporated several interesting characters including a young woman with Cerebral Palsy.
My thanks to the author, publisher, @BrilkianceAudio, and #NetGalley for early access to the audiobook #SundayortheHighway for review purposes. Publication date: 9 September 2025.

This book was really interesting and I enjoyed it. I decided to read this one and the first one at the same time which helped me get into both a little quicker. They are like the Hercule Poirot stories where you don’t necessarily have to read them in order. It might enrich the story more if you read them that way but it also doesn’t feel required. I really liked the story of the bounty hunter Domingo. It’s really interesting and I feel like I’ve learned a lot about what it would be like to be an immigrant. This book also taught me a lot about what immigrants might deal with an a daily basis. I liked the fiction story and thought it was fun to read. All the characters are lovable and I liked their stories. Overall good book!

Danger No Problem

Domingo’s latest job is to bring in Monica Reed. Again. In all his years as a bounty hunter, Monica’s the only target who’s ever given him the slip—and the only one he’s ever let go.
Domingo takes his work seriously, rooting out fugitives who have no regard for the law. Added bonus: it gives him plenty of fodder for the book he’s writing on the side.

As Domingo works to flush out Monica for the third time, he uncovers more layers to her story. Dark secrets, hidden sacrifices, and shocking discoveries point to a dangerous truth she’ll risk her life to expose. Now Domingo must decide which side he’s actually on.

Sunday or the Highway

As a bounty hunter specializing in immigrants who do their status dirty, Domingo has had his fair share of dicey jobs. From traffickers peddling drugs, guns, and people to murderers and other fugitives, Domingo loves nothing more than putting the bad guys away. But his life’s not exactly fun and games.

These stories were really interesting. They are mysteries mixed with the politics of US immigration in a fictional yet relatable way. I enjoyed the mysteries of both stories with Domingo trying to hunt down criminals but also help families find loved ones. Domingo was a relatable character in many ways, and I enjoyed watching him piece things together over the course of these two books. The politics involved in both stories might be a bit much for anyone who uses reading as an escape from the real world, but the author does a fantastic job of using real information to help immigrants become legal citizens!

Thank you to @GetRedPR @CindyFazzi and @AmazonPublishing for this ALC in exchange for an honest review.

This audiobook was such a ride. Twisty, gritty, and way deeper than I expected. It’s part crime story, part social commentary, with a narrator who absolutely nails it.

Let’s start with Domingo. He’s not your typical bounty hunter. He’s complicated, jaded, sharp witted, and very good at what he does, even if he is a bit morally gray. He tracks down immigrants who’ve violated the terms of their stay, which makes him an interesting (and sometimes uncomfortable) lens through which we see the broken parts of the immigration system. It’s messy and Domingo knows it.

The case at the center of the story seems simple at first: a rich fast food heiress hires him to track down the undocumented parents of the guy she’s been obsessed with since childhood. (Yes, it’s a little unhinged, and yes, it gets weirder.) But it doesn’t stay straightforward for long. The deeper Domingo digs, the more he uncovers about the couple, about power dynamics, and about how far people will go for love or control.

Now, let’s talk narration because honestly, Ramon de Ocampo makes this audiobook. His voice brings Domingo to life in this cool, grounded way that feels effortless but pulls you in completely. He captures the dry humor, the inner conflict, the street smarts, everything. Even the side characters are well done; each one has a distinct vibe without sounding cartoonish or overdone.

This book is dark without being too heavy, clever without getting too snarky, and there’s a subtle emotional thread running through it that really pays off. Also, Cindy Fazzi doesn’t spoon feed the reader/listener. She lets things unfold with nuance, which I appreciated.

If you’re into gritty stories with morally gray characters, unexpected twists, and top tier narration Sunday or the Highway is 100% the book for you.

4 Stars!

Sunday or the Highway is a book that follows Domingo, a Filipino bounty hunter. This is the second book in the Domingo the Bounty Hunter two-book series. In this novel, Domingo follows an Heiress named Tessa Woodridge who’s head over heels in love with a man who saved her life when she was eight years old. There are plenty of red flags that Tessa seems to overlook. Tessa asks Domingo to find Julian’s (Tessa’s love interest’s) undocumented parents. Domingo thinks this case is going to be easy, but boy is he wrong.

Another fun aspect to this series is that Domingo is in the process of writing a book about immigration (facts about and his experience with immigration and what undocumented immigrants should and shouldn’t do). Many chapters start with excerpts from his book. It teaches you a lot about immigration that you may not already know.

This book is very interesting and I was constantly trying to figure out what was going to happen next. Domingo is an extremely likable character. I suggest this book to anyone who is interested in mystery and the twists and turns it takes for a bounty hunter to find and protect the people he’s hired to do so.

Thank you to Get Red PR and Cindy Fazzi for sending me the physical copies of these books!

Book two of Domingo the Bounty Hunter. Could be read as a stand alone, but you will understand Domingo better if you read book one.

Tessa and her parents were in an accident when she was eight. She is the only survivor- thanks to a boy who rescued her from the desert. Now, years later, Julian, her rescuer, is back in her life and she is in love. But she wants some answers. She hires Domingo to find his parents. They are undocumented and that is Domingo's specialty. Easy peasy, right? Not so fast.

This series has just been okay for me. I read for escapism, and it gets a bit too political for me. Thankfully, the views align with mine, but I still want to read as an escape from the crazy world we live in. Because of this, I've determined that these are not for me.

Taking the politics of immigration out, I enjoyed Domingo unraveling Julian's past. It was an interesting story line.

Ramon de Ocampo narrates the audiobook.

Fast-paced, witty, and full of grit Cindy Fazzi delivers another knockout with Danger No Problem and its sequel Sunday or the Highway in the Domingo the Bounty Hunter series. 📚✨
Domingo isn’t your average bounty hunter he’s an immigrant chasing people who broke the system, all while writing his own book. When the elusive Monica Reed resurfaces, Domingo uncovers a web of secrets that could cost them both everything.
The sequel raises the stakes even higher what should’ve been a simple case for a lovestruck heiress spirals into danger, betrayal, and life-or-death choices. Fazzi’s sharp humor, breakneck pacing, and heartfelt exploration of identity and belonging make this series unputdownable.
If you’re looking for action, heart, and plenty of unexpected twists, Domingo’s story will grab you from page one and won’t let go. 💥🔥

Domingo’s way.
This was great; it really kept you guessing the whole way through. It’s action. It’s mystery. It’s Domingo. Truly a great insight into the life of immigrants and the road to assimilation. There were a few things I didn’t know. It’s readable as a standalone, but I liked reading it after the first book. I did the audiobook this time. I wouldn’t have been able to get Domingo’s accent without it. That was a big help making him come to life.

First time reader of this author and I am impressed, definitely be going back to read previous book as this is book 2. This follows Domingo the bounty hunter, he is hired by an ultra rich heiress to do a background investigation on a gentleman that saved her life years ago. Julian is back in her life now. As Domingo begins his case, he does uncover some suspicious information. The writing keeps the reader engaged and flows well. I have some suspicions that we have not seen the last of Julian. Many thanks to the author, publisher and Netgalley.

Bounty hunter Domingo takes on a case for heiress Tessa Woodridge: find the parents of Julian Alondra, the boy who once saved her life and the man she swears is her destiny. It sounds simple—but obsession, secrets, and danger lurk beneath their romance. And Domingo knows love can kill.

This is a remarkable story that not only keeps readers hooked with its action and mystery but also sheds light on the immigrant experience with depth and compassion. It’s insightful, eye-opening, and written in a way that welcomes every reader—even as a standalone. A truly valuable read.

This series gave me the same vibes I get when I read CJ Box or Harlan Coben with the action and mystery aspect. I appreciate the main character Domingo and how much he cares about his job and the people who hire him. There were some references to book one, but I think it could be read as a standalone as well!

Thank you to Netgalley, GetRedPR, and Brilliance audio for my advanced listener copy! The audiobook was easy to follow and the narrator did a great job with portraying Domingo.

Felt like a story ripped out of the crazy news and headlines. Domingo’s biggest obstacle in this book is to hep Tessa find Julian’s parents and the whereabouts. As things progressed, Domingo had his fair share of “WTF” moments, I guess, and he simply had to do what he needed to accomplish. One thing for sure, it’s not easy to be in Domingo’s shoes. The drama, anxiety, dark jokes and action. This is it! Almost like “Probinsiyano” teleserye in a convoluted plot! Must read!

I'm really enjoying the fast-paced writing in this series and the character of bounty hunter Domingo. Once again, things do not go as planned and the adventures continue. I'm also learning so much about the laws surrounding immigration and what it takes to become an American. The author has done a marvelous job of getting information out there in an entertaining format.

Huge thanks to Get Red PR, Amazon Publishing, and the author Cindy Fazzi for this ARC! 🙌

This is the second book in the Domingo the Bounty Hunter series, and it definitely delivers on action and suspense. Domingo is back, gritty and determined as ever, taking readers deep into the world of bounty hunting 🔎. What I enjoy about this series is how it mixes high-stakes chases with real insight into crime, justice, and immigration.

In this installment, Domingo is hired by Tessa, a fast-food CEO and heiress 🍔💼, to track down the parents of her boyfriend Julian. Years ago, Julian saved her life before being deported, and now fate has brought them back together ❤️. But not everything about Julian adds up, and Domingo finds himself in the middle of secrets, danger, and deception. ⚠️

If you’re into bounty hunter or private investigator stories with plenty of twists and tension, this series is for you!
