The last thing that Rhythm is looking for is someone who will sweep her off her feet. So she draws a line to make sure that no one—not a girl friend, especially not a boy friend—crosses. Her tainted relationship with her parents and heartbreak from her first love add up resulting to her zero social life.
The last thing that Grant is willing to do is to give up. He is a veteran in the persistent department and will make everything in his power to win the heart of the only girl he wants—Rhythm. Grant, oblivious to the line drawn by Rhythm, pursues her by grabbing every chance he gets to prove his worth.
Until one day, Rhythm gives in, thinking that she’s ready for a relationship. Or is she?
Okay. (Deep breath). In truth, I'm torn whether I love this book or not. Because, well, there's so much to love in the story, so I'll probably start from there... I love Rhy's rules, because, come on, who makes those rules nowadays? Nada! And for Grant to be able to follow those is unbemazing! And the first time they held hands was so sweet! The surprises too! And the endearments as well (Grant calling Rhy different names). So I thought, how in the hell would Grant ask for a devorce if he adores Rhy so much?! Why?! So here goes the 'why-I-hate-this-book': Why of all people, does he have to sleep with his wife's bestfriend? Why?! Why did they have to do it seven times, and not just once, or even twice? Thank God, Lola died, but I kinda felt bad, because why does she have to die? Why can't she have her happily ever with Cale? Why did it have to be her? Why can't it be Riley?! ~sigh~. Well, by the time I was asking those questions, I was crying myself out. if I were to write the ending, it would be Rhy pushing through with the divorce and moving on from Grant...BUT, there is the matter about God. How he really makes everything better. And He is the reason why I accepted what Grant and Lola did...but I'm still bitter, so it'll take some time before I get over it. But, all in all, it was after all, a wonderfully written novel. And thank you Ena for having Colleen Hoover as a surprise guest in the story (I love her too!)
It took a long time for me to read this and it was just in my "to read" bookshelf (ebooks). Beyond speechless after reading this book and I don't even know where to begin. Okay, so yes, lets start with Rhy. She's not your typical damsel in distress, fragile little thing in this story although she does have her issues regarding relationships but she is one hell of a woman! I mean who would actually set a rule of no form of physical contact in a relationship (e.g. Kissing, hugging and lo and behold...holding hands) and thats just Rhy, now lets go to Grant who is just as baffling as Rhy or probably even more. He's the guy next door who can have any girl, lady and woman that he wants but still prefers and courts Rhy and pursues her despite her rules (so he's fictional, he's not real...but I wish he was). Their relationship is probably the weirdest, challenging and unique from all the books that I've read yet still got me hooked from the very beginning. They had their ups and downs like any relationships and that very problem during their marriage (if I were in Rhy's position, I wouldn't be as forgiving and I would probably make Grant sweat a little...okay a lot to win me back!) All in all this book deserves a 5 + 5 + infinity stars! Would look forward to reading more of Ms. Ena's books!
