One has to throw away their three values before they enjoy this book, and enjoy I did! LOL. MC is very likeable, despite the mistakes he committed (namely the rape... as I said one has to throw away their three values and there isn't any justification so it's all right. It's fiction...rape fantasy, y'know? One of my kinks....) Anyhow, I liked the MC and I rooted for his happy end. Other than the rape, this guy has worked so hard and has been so good to the LI, he needs an HEA! The man has had his heart broken to pieces by the LI so many times... *sniffles* 15+ years of waiting for the man of his love to finally love him back. TAT
But it's a pretty long story, which IMHO kinda fizzed out on the 80% mark. Kinda had to grind myself through the last 20%, even though it wasn't bad, per se. I just sort of lost interest.
As for the LI, Little Red... I dunno what to say about him. Not that I didn't like him, but I didn't like him as much as I expected to. Usually he's my type, but I supposed I felt too much for the MC to appreciate this kind of character, especially since I'm no fan of domestic violence of any sort, including reverse (?) domestic violence where the LI is a guy who speaks with his fist. Not to mention I just can't picture how a beautiful guy with pale skin and red (???) lips look like ="= A pretty guy with red lips...just not very easy to picture. Of course, trope-wise he's still my type so I still wanted to see smexy stuff done to him, and yep, the meat was to my satisfaction. Go MC! Atta boy!
Anyhow, interesting fic with a punk-turned-businessman top (MC) x detached-but-violent asexual-like pretty gangster underboss. I loved the side pairing too. Two bottoms ending up together...it was sweet.
