* This story is Book 2 in the Bad Boy - Naughty at Night Series
Peter never imagined he'd be in this situation. Kindergarten teacher by the day, erotic nude masseuse by night but desperate times call for desperate measures.
Now, he's in even deeper trouble. Split between two men, the gorgeous cop who has a distaste against anyone involved in the adult industries (who has no clue about Peter's secret profession) and the handsome controlling mafia-esque older man hell-bent on keeping Peter servicing his clients.
What will Peter do if the man he loves finds out what he's doing at night and how will he handle it when the man who controls him threatens the life of the one he loves?
This is a sexy m/m gay romance with erotic scenes.
Jamie Lake is the author m/m gay romances such as The Trainer, Boyfriend for Rent, Marked for Love, Bad Boy: Naughty at Night, Stay Always and many others.
What is it about Peter that makes me yearn for him? A part-time teacher sacraficing his pay to allow the program to run. A man who left behind his priviledged, rich family to help and make a difference for less priviledged youth. A man with perfect abs and good looks that he entangles himself with a sexy yet dangerous and demanding criminal, and a gorgeous, red-headed detective who treats him like a prince.
Jamie Lake does a wonderful job bringing Peter's character to life. Some reviewers claim that it's too contrived or unbelievable. Well, this is fiction, and I love this character! And I love the twists and turns and hurdles throughout the story. This second book leaves us with another cliff hanger and I can't wait to see how Peter gets himself out of this one.
Book 2 is even better than book 1! Peter is a likable character who, through a variety of circumstances, has gotten himself in a bit of a pickle he doesn't know how to get out of. I feel sorry for him but want to shake him and give him a piece of my mind, too!! Detective Chip seems like such a sweet guy. And as much as I want to hate Tony, Jamie Lake has creatively made my like him even though he is clearly the bad guy. I think this make me more sympathetic to Peter not knowing what to do. I can't wait for book 3!!
Wow these cliffhangers leave me wanting more. Peter's situation has gone from bad to worse. He has been cornered by Tony and his roommate, his choices are being forced and it's almost impossible to get out of the situation.
We still have the threat looming of Chip finding out. Tony has truly become our bad guy, he is domineering and controlling. We know violence is closely related to those characteristics... At the end of the novel Peter is finally forced to make a decision, will he make the right one? Probably not (We still have a novel to go).
It is hard to feel sympathy for Peter since this is a situation of his own making, many people that are cash strapped have several jobs. Also Peter is a bit of a slut (Hate that he justifies his actions, poor Chip). But I feel this is all part of the story and was expecting it, you can't really call the book Bad Boy if the guy is squeaky clean.
Chip is so nice, but I have the feeling he is hiding secrets of his own. It is hard for me to root or him and Peter, since I think he deserves better.
Hopefully the next novel with help me like Peter more. Luckily I won't have to wait long since Jamie is super quick releasing his/her novels. *Jamie waiting patiently for the next Collide Series installment :-)*
This is a continuing series and books/audiobooks, that must be read/listened to in order, and must all be purchased to complete the story. Each individual book ends with cliff hangers and very little resolved.
Book 2 is slightly better than Book 1. What does continue to impress is James Talbot's narration.
More confusing than the first book and it feels like the middle of a story. I would have liked if this series was 3 longer books instead of 5 smaller books.
Okay, so onto book two. It starts off just where it leaves off. During this story, I am not happy with Peter. Honestly. By the end of this book, my conclusion is that Peter is a slut and doesn't deserve a happy ending. Yeah, I get it. Peter needs to make money to make it on his own. But I liked Chip. Poor Chip, who really likes Peter, is being deceived. He doesn't demand anything from Peter, and likes Peter for who he is(or at least what he knows of him. Poor and caring). Then we have Tony.
Tony, he is just to much of a egotistic jackass for me to like him. He is used to throwing his money and power around to get what he wants. He wants Peter. It even comes across that Tony might like Peter, but really I am not sure. Perhaps more because Peter is easy to boss around and demand things, he knows Peter will end up doing.
So, in this story, Peter has to decide if he is going to take up the offer of a 'job' from Tony or not. Though, Tony says it is just for massages, who knows.
But there are some conditions...
But I understand the conditions, from Tony's POV. Peter is a fool for not reading over the contract. But even worse, and why I am not a fan of Peter during this book is this.
So, though I will read the third book to find out what happens... I am not particularly rooting for Peter. More like I want Chip to realize the truth and kick him to the curb.
Also, on a side note. During the very first book, in the prologue we read about Peter and Nate. Still no Nate... so I am assuming he will show up in book three.
The second book of the Bad Boy - Naughty at Night Series by Jamie Lake is even better than the first. The story keeps getting more and more intense as the story goes on. Peter is a kindergarten teacher who continues to work his side job as an Erotic Massage Therapist. Tony, his boss, is making demands on him that he can no longer see Chip, the detective. Peter is going to have to make a decision. He's scared. Another dynamic cliffhanger where the craving for more of the story is getting stronger. What does he do? This book is another Must Read to find out what Peter is going to do.....You'll crave this one even more than the first. Keep them coming Jamie. Excellent writer who knows how to put emotion, drama, and sex in his writing. You will want to keep up with this series.
So book two, pretty good! this books sees Peter getting deeper into his troubles. The characters start really coming into themselves and you really start to get a feel for them, whether you like them or hate them....Tony!!
Again Jamie Lake had succeeded in bringing these characters to life, with an enjoyable story some great hot scenes and another ending that leaves you wanting more... can't wait for the next instalment....
I enjoyed this portion of Peter's story - things are really getting interesting! His situation's pretty messy and it's only going to get worse. Can't wait for the next installment to see how things play out!
Nooooooooooooooooooooooooo, Peter can't be with Tony, he has to be with Chip, they are soul mates and meant to be together. UGH, I hate that everyone seems to be blackmailing Peter and he is just stuck in this stupid ass mess he made.
book 2 is just add addictive as the first. Peter's life is now so complex, struggling to maintain his relationship with Chip whilst keeping Tony happy. Tony's that against Chip & Johnny might prove to much for Peter to allow Well Tony Kerry him walk away scott-free???What do you think????
Sorry - but I didn't like this one nearly as well as the first in the series. The characters weren't likeable, the plot wasn't put together well, etc. I'll try another one because the first was good, hopefully it was a "glitch."
I thought this was better than the first book. I started reading it and couldn't put it down until I was finished. I think at some point in time everyone wants a Tony, but I want a Chip. I can't wait to read the third book.
I do think Peter needs a backbone. He is such a Harlequin heroine. I still don't like Chip. I'm all for team Tony. Plus, Brad is such a cool character.
