Where do I begin with this review...... I LOVED LOVED LOVED this story. After reading it I had to sit and digest what I just read because I was in need of a tall glass of water for the steaminess and the suspense of this story.
Beck and Kelsey are high school sweethearts that were together and at the end of high school the separated because they didn't know what to do with their lives. Fast forward ten years and Kelsey is the owner of an inn and Beck is a detective. Their lives could not be more different but when Finn Beck's older brother finds out that Kelsey is in trouble and needs help he goes to his brother and tells him everything that is going on.
Beck's blood boils because his job is to serve and protect but he loves Kelsey and has never stopped loving her. So when he finds out she is being stalked by her ex and is in danger he goes right to the rescue only this time he is determined to win back his one true love that he let get away.
Kelsey still loves Beck and she is happy that he is the one to protect her but she is scared of getting her heart hurt again and she wants to take it slow but the chemistry between them is like lightening in a storm and she gives in and the two are combustible together. But they still have that threat to Kelsey hanging over their head and Beck is determined to put the bad guy away and have his HEA.
This story starts 10 years ago in Rockport where Beck walks out on his high school sweetheart, Kelsey, breaking her heart. He moves to Boston to be a detective but she stays in the small town where she grew up.
Even 10 years on Kelsey is still hung up on Beck and hopes that he will come back for her. When a stranger comes to the Inn that she now owns and asks for her on Memorial Day weekend, she's sure that it's him, but has a terrible shock when she realises it's not, it's her stalker ex-boyfriend Jason and quickly gets her manager to call the police.
Finn is the chief of police and also happens to be Beck's brother. He contacts Beck to let him know what's happening, as soon as he hears that Kelsey is in danger he agrees to return for a few days to make sure that she is safe.
When I first started reading this book, I thought that Kelsey was going to be a whiny and weak character but how wrong I was. She's strong, stands up for herself and won't let even her stalker being her down.
I thought the story was very well written and I loved that each chapter was alternating between Kelsey and Beck's POV. It had some mega hot sex scenes and I was glued to the book from start to finish and will be recommending it.
Wow. This is a fast paced , sexy, page turner of a book. Beck is the strong alpha male who left his hometown, family and girlfriend behind 10 years previously. Kelsey is our heroine who is making the best of things since her soul mate broke her heart. Now Kelsey is in danger from a crazy ex. Can Beck protect her and will she let him? I was impressed at the dramatic crescendo of the story. It was not glossed over, as can happen sometimes. There is lots of sex and swearing in this book so if that offends you try a sample first. If you like hot alpha males and heroines who are not a pushover then read this. Good start to a series.
I was pleasantly surprised by Coming Home to you the debut novel by Claire Raye. I was intrigued right away by the blurb and it didn't take long to suck me in and keep me smiling. I adore second chance love stories but find they are always a delicate balance of love or hate for me. I tend to need to understand the initial separation to be able to believe in the re-connecting of the couple. With the heartbreaking prologue Claire brings us to the painful breakup of Beck and Kelsey 10 years ago. It simply was a time where these two impulsive teenagers were just too young to see what was in front of them and wanted totally different things out of life. This takes them both through 10 years of lacking relationships and others that never compare. Kelsey is now in danger and Beck is the only man that can or will put his life on the line to keep her safe. With the help of Finn, Beck's older brother (I have a big crush on this guy by the way) Beck finds out that Kelsey needs him and what transpires is an explosive and seductive reunion that Kelsey and Beck have no power over. The feelings and passion are still strong as ever.
This is one very very steamy romance where these two couldn’t be in the same room for very long without clothes stripped and skin touching.
Even though there was a lot of sexy times there was still this underlying reconnection happening that had me falling in love with this couple again right along with them. I loved that Beck knew right away that his choices were going to be changing and Kelsey wasn’t someone that he could ever walk away from again.
I adored his protectiveness and I loved how sassy and funny they were together. This was a story of two people finding that true love may take time to find it’s way home but there wasn’t anywhere else they would ever feel that they were truly home than in each others arms.
I look forward strongly to the second book in this series as Kelsey and Beck’s best friends Erin and Ryan are one electrifying couple that had me just laughing out loud and wanting their story a.s.a.p.
This is one sexy second chance romance that any steamy romance lover would adore.

Okaay, where to start...
First off, this is not my "Go to" genre. You will almost always find me buried in an MC/Biker Romance or anything with an Overly Overbearing Hot Ass Aplha in it. **I do love me some alpha!!**
In saying all'a that I was hands down pleasantly surprised how much I actually enjoyedComing Home.
If you're in search of a romantic love story with some humor, a bit of angst, some heartbreak and alot of drama in the "Krazy Ass (with a capital K) Stalker Ex Boyfriend" variety then look no further bcause' I have definitely found one for you here!!
So... summing up, young love, girl falls in love with boy, boy loves girl but not enough to be stuck in a small town doing small town things with small town people who talk small town gossip.
Refusing to follow the family tradition of becoming the Chief of Police in small town Rockport, Beck sets his sights on becoming a seasoned Boston detective. To do that he has to leave town and leaving town means leaving the girl he loves...
Kelsey has no intentions of leaving Rockport Beach, even for the love of her life. This is her home. This is where her family is. And this is where she is staying. Leaving Beck with no choice but to leave a heartbroken Kelsey behind.
10 years on... Kelsey has gone and got herself a crazy as shit ex who won't leave her alone, when shit starts to get serious Finn, Beck's brother and Rockport's Chief of Police puts a call in to Beck telling him to get his ass home to catch the crazy and keep Kel safe.
Needless to say 10 years on neither one has ever gotten past the love they once shared. When Beck comes home for Kel, as much as she tries to hold onto to her resentment towards him for leaving, she can't help but be pulled back in to the all consuming love they once shared. **let the steamy as f**k scenes begin!!**#GoodTimes
With both having built their lives and careers in different places, will love be enough for one to leave the life they've made behind?... You'll have to #OneClick to find out!!

What a fun and steamy read. Kelsey and Beck met when they were 16 and 17 years old. His father is the chief of police and her parents own the Rockport Beach Inn. The two spend 2 years falling in love and creating scandal all across town with their wild and crazy romance. Beck however feels like a big fish in a small pond so he wants to move to Boston and become a detective but Kelsey can't leave Rockport her parents need her to help run the inn and so after a very heated and heart breaking conclusion the lovers go their separate ways.
Ten years have gone by but the memories they shared still play back in their minds. Beck is promoted to detective and is in the middle of investigating a homicide when he receives a call from his brother from Rockport that he needs his help tracking down a stalker that is harassing Kelsey. Ten years changed nothing between the two their hearts are still torn in different directions but now all that's at the surface is pain and hurt.
Kelsey has done a fabulous job at building up the inn and on Memorial weekend learns of a gentleman seeking her out by name. In one brief moment with her heart pounding in her chest she knows it's Beck finally come home and as she races down to see him discovers it's Jason. He can't handle that it is over between them and it takes the entire police station to come to the scene for him to race off. But this is not when Finn makes the call not until the creep is caught strangling her in her house one night.
Beck and Kelsey immediately strike up the old sparks but Kelsey is protecting her heart and tries to keep her distance. The old familiar touches and glances are all it takes to begin the tearing down of her defenses. The story is fast paced and keeps you on your toes with lots of added heat. Beck calls his partner (Ryan) from Boston to help him out because Jason is able to hide from everyone. He takes psycho to a new level and you don't know all of it until the end. Now, like I said there is plenty of sex supported by dirty talk.
If I had one complaint to make it is the fact that Beck leaves and he doesn't even keep in touch with his family. Now ,while I know he is better off spreading his wings, instead of living a life of what if's, it seemed harsh to shut out everyone he loved. Also in the beginning he shuts out his pain with meaningless sex, which I get, but the intimacy he shares with the Medical Examiner was too personal IMO and something else that was troublesome is that Beck and Kelsey neither one worry about an unexpected pregnancy throughout the book.
The story though was well enough written to overlook the little things and I give it 4 stars. I love a good villain and the author really had a diabolical one. If you do not care for a lot of swearing be warned. I was okay with it and loved Ryan and Erin they were fun together and at the end of this story we get a glimpse of their story. FYI they have phone sex. Happy reading !!
Turns out home really is where the heart is! Young love can be powerful. Sometimes it is so powerful that it lasts a lifetime. Kelsey and Beck had that kind of love once. Small town living was never what Beck wanted for himself. Kelsey found small town life endearing. When Beck decided to leave for the big city of Boston he asked Kelsey to go with him, but when she said she couldn’t go he left and never looked back. Ten years later both Beck and Kelsey feel as if they are missing a part of themselves. Neither one wants to admit it is each other that they miss. That if they were to be honest with themselves, they still love one another even after all this time apart. When Kelsey finds herself in danger it becomes quickly apparent that the only person who can truly protect her is Beck. Will he be able to stop the man who is stalking her before it is too late? The ties that bind is central to this story and it tied me up in knots in the best of ways. When Beck left Rockport behind, he left his girl heartbroken and lonely. He also left his father and brother behind. Ten years is a long time to go without keeping in touch, and this story beautifully weaves through those moments of resentment, hurt, fear and unconditional love. The fight between the future you thought you wanted and the present you cannot live without. I love the passion between Kelsey & Becks, as well as the love between Becks and his family. Their time together leaves so many unknowns. Can Kelsey forgive Becks for leaving her and tearing her heart and world apart? Is her love strong enough to give in to what she feels and allow them a second chance at forever? What if he just leaves again, could she survive losing him again? While they are trying to keep Kelsey safe, all their old feelings come flooding in as if no time had passed at all. When Becks is faced with losing Kelsey forever he learns some hard truths about himself, small towns, and the power of real love. I would highly recommend this book to anyone who loves a good read. This book is deeply satisfying on many levels and will not disappoint.
This was a very exciting and suspenseful read. The H is very protective and possessive of the heroine, even though, he kind of gave up that right when he left for, IMO, a very ridiculous reason.
So, while it was a good read - there were several things that aggravated me - and are possible triggers for any readers, so MILD Spoiler Warning Here*******
1 - The reason why he left. There really wasn't a good one. They were both madly in love, had the perfect romance, knew they were meant to be, but the H couldn't stand the small town aspect and losing the h's mother (a stand in for him). So he just LEFT! Like - BOOM, don't wanna come with me , ALRIGHTY THEN. Buh-bye. 2 - The very detailed smex scene the H had in the beginning of the book really bothered me. 3 - I hated that the H and h loved each other so much but NEVER for the life of them, bothered to reach out in 10 years to one another. However, we are supposed to feel/believe that they are still filling the other half of their heart missing. 4 - There was, again IMO, only mild groveling for the H to get back into the h's bed. I felt I needed something else from him to express his HUGE ROYAL F'Up from 10 years ago. Or maybe to just see the h happier than she was would have been nice too. 5 - Here BFF got on my nerves. I hope she and Ryan don't get a book. I didn't really care for her at all.
So with all that said, yes, it was a good book, just had some mild things in it that definitely had me holding back 5 stars, but it still deserved a 4.
Claire Raye are new to me authors and I am completely hooked on their stories.
Beck left Rockport Beach ten years ago, leaving behind the girl he loved more than anything and his family. Kelsey Walters was completely heartbroken when Beck left, but ten years later she finds herself with a stalker and her ex lover and the man she is still in love with back in her life.
This book had everything. It is a small town romance, a second chance romance, drama, suspense, and LOADS of steaminess!! I was completely hooked and wanted to know about Beck and Kelsey’s relationship, but also with all the drama from her stalker.
Despite not seeing each other for ten years the chemistry between Beck and Kels never seemed to lose steam. Kelsey was hurt and left broken hearted in the past, so she was afraid to get close to him again, especially knowing that he had a job back in Boston that he would eventually go back to.
I loved Beck and Kelsey, but I also loved their two best friends, Erin and Ryan and I CANNOT WAIT for their story!
This is a MUST READ book and one I’d highly recommend to anyone. Though it is the first in a series, it can be read as a complete standalone.
**I received a free copy of this book in exchange for an honest review**
This is the first book I've read from Claire Raye and it definitely will not be the last! I was so captivated by the story that I hated putting it down, I just wanted to inhale every word of this book. This story was filled with intrigue, suspense, twists, turns and a chemistry that is so explosive you'll be fanning yourself from the heat. Prepare to be seduced and memorized by one amazing read.
For fans of 50 Shades of Grey, you'll love this book. Be warned there is a lot of profanity and spicy sex so if that's not the thing for you - go to book 2. It's much milder. The 2 main characters Beck & Kelsey have fiery personalities which explains the hot & heavy connection. A fun book if you need to escape to Rockport Beach.
A second chance! There was no question they both still loved each other, but the same problem was between them. Could they find a solution this time around? I really enjoyed the suspense in this one.
Talk about a non-stop ride! The action in this book starts immediately and doesn't stop! The twist and turns had me holding my breath! Just so so good! And talk about steam! Kelsey and Beck are pure fire, and you their chemistry is insane! I love protective hero's, and Beck is the perfect hero! I loved this steamy, second chance romance, and loved all the characters in this book! So so good!
If you’re looking for a sweet and sexy second chance romance with a great story line that includes some mystery, look no further!! I got completely hooked by the storyline, I was curious as to when Kelsey’s stalker would get caught and I was most importantly waiting for Beck (sexy as F detective) to finally decide he could be back in the small town and be with his girl.
Beck and Kelsey dated for years when they were younger, they were the talk of the town and everyone was in their business expecting them to get married and have kids right away. That’s part of the bad thing about small towns, they were so up in their business that Beck felt like he was suffocating and wanted to leave Rockport for Boston. Kelsey always planned to help run her families bed and breakfast and didn’t want to give up that dream. With them both wanting different things in their lives…no matter how much they loved each other, neither was willing to bend.
Beck learns from his brother, who is the sheriff of Rockport, that Kelsey is in danger and has a stalker. He is immediately scared for the love of his life and comes back to Rockport to help protect her. I absolutely loved the fierce need that Beck has to protect Kelsey. No matter how much Kelsey yells at him and tells him that she doesn’t need him, he keeps sticking around and will do anything to protect her. I could completely understand Kelsey’s frustrations with Beck and her questions of why now? Why are you back now and couldn’t stay before? And the biggest question of all….how can she protect her heart when she knows she is still in love with him even after all these years, it’s inevitable – once her stalker is caught he’s going to leave her again and go back to Boston.
“I don’t just love this woman; I need her too. Every single part of me needs her and wants her. And because of that, I need to protect her, watch over her and make sure nothing hurts her again. Including me.”
One thing I have to say that I didn’t really like about the book; I wish we got glimpses into their relationship when they were younger. I didn’t quite feel the connection and the hurt of Beck leaving for Boston. I believe if I got to see how connected they were and how much they loved each other when they were younger I would’ve been more heartbroken when he left and way more ecstatic when he came back – I think a few flash backs or a few chapters in the beginning that was them when they were younger would’ve built the connection more for me.
Not only did I love Beck and Kelsey’s hot sexual chemistry but I completely loved the secondary characters; Kelsey’s best friend Erin and Beck’s partner Ryan. Erin is hilarious, sassy and won’t take shit from anyone. Throughout the story we follow not only the progress of Kelsey, Beck and the stalker situation but we also get to follow the blossoming hateful/loving (confusing right?!) relationship between Ryan and Erin. I was happy to find out that the second book is all about these two…yippiieee!! Can’t wait for the second book! Great first book from Claire Raye!
I am so happy that I read the email at the blog from Claire Raye !! It lead me to this book and I just absolutely fell in love with the story , the location being a New England girl and the characters !! I was blown away with it being a debut it had TONS of great sex , hot guys , fun , drama , heartache but most of all the suspense was what pulled me in. OMG it was such a great story and in the end the level of excitement and fear I felt for Kelsey was crazy. I was sweating bullets more than once during this story !! Love the dual POV , I am a total sucker for male POV !! My other weakness is second chances on young love and this book had Beck and Kelsey reuniting after being apart for 10 years. They were high school sweethearts and in their small town the locals had them married and pregnant after their 1st date !!
Beck up and left everyone and everything in Rockport to go off to Boston and become a detective. Torn between his girl and his work he spent 10 years trying to get over her and despite being a great detective he totally failed at love. When Beck decided to leave - Kelsey needed to stay , neither would budge and it did piss me off that after all this time during all those years they may have kept tabs secretly on each other but why did they never reach out to one another. I hate wasted time and 10 years is a lot of time to waste !! It sucked feeling Kelsey's pain but it was also heartwarming to see how she had spent the past 10 years bonding with Beck's family and running her parents Inn after losing them. Kelsey worked hard and did what she had to to survive life , love and loss. Kelsey has never moved on from Beck , she has tried without success. Her latest boyfriend turned out to be bad news and now as she tries to fight of his stalking tendencies she is realizing he may be a little more disturbed than she thought.
In the midst of working a murder case Beck finds out that Kelsey's life is being threatened. Lucky for us he decides to come home and check things out. Of course the sexual tension and 10 years of built up anger make this reunion SUPER HOT & FUN !! We follow their journey back to each other and as a treat we get tons of wicked hot sex !!!!!!! These two are electric and I honestly couldn't get enough despite knowing it may have been too much !! I was hooked and addicted to their sex life !! Even better than that was all the suspense and drama swirling around them. Kelsey's ex was crazy , the things he did , what he was getting away with , WOW I was shocked and fearful of what he was capable of. The bits and pieces of their pasts really bring such deep emotion to the story I would so love a prequel to Beck and kelsey's relationship !!!!!!!!!
There were moments of fun , moments of true heartache and raw emotion. There was also moments of fear and uncertainty. This story really did have it all. I enjoyed every aspect of it and look forward to reading more from Claire Raye !!!!
I received a complimentary copy of this book from the author in exchange for an honest review.
Coming Home to You by Claire Raye is the author’s debut novel. It is a superb first outing.
This second-chance-at-love romance is also a fast-paced thriller. Much more than the romance story line, the suspenseful tracking of the stalker had me riveted to my chair turning pages. The tension builds nicely as the story reaches its crescendo. There are plot points that had me biting my nails and wanting to warn the characters. Some new authors build and build but then have an anticlimactic culmination or an abrupt resolution because they haven’t mastered story telling yet. This is not the case with Coming Home to You.
While the thriller/suspense aspect of the story hooked me, there was also a steamy love story. I love the idea of childhood sweethearts reunited, and the author did a good job of showing the reader why the characters initially split up from each character's POV. I felt that the love story relied heavily on sex as a way to communicate the main characters renewed interest in one another. While I think there were more sex scenes than necessary, the scenes were not used as a substitute for main plots points. If the sex scenes were removed, Ms. Raye would still have an excellent, strong storyline which is important to me (and cannot be said of every adult romance novel).
The cast of characters are interesting, and all are fully developed. The female characters, Kelsey and Erin, are sassy and strong. I love that she doesn’t become a simpering wimp when fighting off her stalker; she essentially tells herself to buck up because she isn’t living a fairytale and there will not be a knight in shining armor coming to rescue her. Beckham (Beck) and Ryan are tough-as-nails detectives in Boston, and while they have more tricks up their sleeves than small-town sheriff, Finn, it takes their combined talents to find the stalker. Jason, the stalking antagonist is deviously creepy! That character would make any single woman think twice about dating someone new.
The one aspect of the book that I didn’t care for was the excessive swearing. Using some swearing to convey a strong feeling or as a way to depict a character is fine, but I found the quantity of swearing detracted from the story. Ms. Raye’s writing is solid and she doesn’t need to rely on that gimmick.
Overall, Coming Home to You is well-written book that I would recommend. I’m looking forward to the next book in Claire Raye’s Rockport Beach series.

Book Review - Coming Home to You by Claire Raye - *** too much sex spoiled the story
Now there may be lots of you reading the tag line and reaching for that one click button, and to that I say, you go girls. I’m a picky reader and there has to be enough story around the sex. For me, this book far too much relied upon the sexual relationship between the main characters and not on rebuilding an emotional connection.
Anyway, i’m getting ahead of myself, so lets get to the story. Ten years ago, Beck broke Kelsey’s heart when he left the small town they lived in to go to Boston to his dream job of being a police officer in a big city. Beck asked her to go with him and she begged him to stay, but neither one was willing to commit to the others will.
Now Kelsey is in danger when her ex boyfriend develops stalker tendencies, so Beck comes back into town at his brothers request fearing for Kelsey’s safety. Once they meet again, after a little (and I mean tiny) resistance on Kelsey’s part, the couple are soon hot and heavy for each other again and trying to decide how to make something work, whilst watching the stalkers efforts ramp up.
This book is quite well written, if not a little repetitive in the sex scenes (I lost count of the times the girl gave him head, I guess his love juices tasted like candy), which is why I was so frustrated by it. I really felt that the couple needed to spend more time getting to know one another again. After all it’s been ten years, people change so much during that period of time, no matter what your age. I’m not saying that people can’t get back together after a long period apart, but I do believe that you would need more actual dates and conversations before you would decide to make the life changing decisions that you wouldn’t make ten years before.
When the drama unfolded, I really got into the book, and from that point forward, I was hooked until the end.
So would I read another book by Claire Raye? Yes. In fact I read the excerpt for book 2 in the series, which deals with both best friends and I have a lot of interest in their story. Theirs is a physical relationship and if it goes where I think it will, it will need to really deal with the emotional side of their relationship. So i’m intrigued and i’m in for book two. For sure, give me the hot sex again, but I can’t wait to find out about the relationship side.
I’m a huge fan of romantic suspense. And this book did not come up short on the suspense. It's also a second chance romance, which everyone loves.
Kelsey is a strong woman. When a past boyfriend doesn’t bleed into the past like he should, she refuses to become a whimpering victim. I loved that about her. She remains strong and continues on with life. However, she’s not an over-confident glutton for punishment either and knows when to get help. Enter ex-boyfriend, turned police detective who DID bleed quietly into the past but shouldn’t have.
Beckham (aka “Beck”) is a hot, dirty-talking protector of a man, who’s on a mission to find the stalker threatening his future happiness. When he returns to town, Kelsey tries to resist the temptation to fall back into his arms. (Of course, she does. As I said, she is strong and confident and not the type to repeat her bad decisions.) But Beck is persistent and eventually tears down the walls Kelsey has constructed around her heart.
I almost couldn’t believe this was a debut novel – not that I don’t have a high hopes and expectations for debut novels because I absolutely do – but COMING HOME was very, very well written. Fantastic sentence structure, good grammar, virtually error free, realistic dialogue. Ms. Raye did all of these very well.
The book’s strongest point is the heat. Ms. Raye can write the sexy times like a pro … and there are a LOT of them. If I were to rate this book on heat alone, I would give it five scorching stars. I’m not good at gauging when a book crosses the line from contemporary romance into erotica, but I think this one does or is skating the edge.
I have only one complaint about the book and that is the repetitiveness of the emotional dialogue that Kelsey and Beck each have with themselves. There were moments when I felt like they were on an emotional loop and that I was reading the same paragraph over and over.
However, I do believe that in reality people are very much this way. We rarely talk ourselves into believing that we should let go of the past on the first try. Kelsey and Beck felt like real characters. Flawed but perfect for one another.
If you’re looking for a HOT SECOND CHANCE romance with an element of suspense, give this book a first chance! You will not be disappointed with dirty-talking Beck.
Coming Home to You is one of the most romantic and thrilling books I’ve read this year. I absolutely loved the story line and the characters in the book. As soon as the story begins you are pulled in and you never want to put it down. It is one of those books that keep you interested and reading until the very end.
Kelsey is such a wonderful woman. I loved her character instantly, but of course the beginning of the book will have your heart breaking for her. Then she has one of the worst things possible happen to her and you are drawn into her life wanting and hoping that things fall where they should and that nothing bad happens to her. I couldn’t believe what was happening to her, it was so unexpected and so wrong. I loved that no matter what happened next Kelsey didn’t break. She still held on and kept going and let those around her and the police work on bringing her ex to justice.
Beck is just WOW! The man is AMAZING!!!! I fell in love with him right away. Even though I didn’t agree with his decision in the beginning, I knew that in some way or another it was what was best for both him and Kelsey. I was thrilled when he came back home and took charge for her safety. He never once falters in keeping her safe and showing her that even after ten years the love they had will always be there. Their love is eternal.
Kelsey and Beck’s chemistry is one of those once in a life time kind of things. I loved how they clicked and knew each other instantly. Their love is so beautiful and will have your heart filled with so much hope and joy for the two of them because they found their way back to one another. But will they stay together? That was one of the many things that kept me in sync with the story; I had to know if their love would conquer all and live through the craziness that was going on in their lives.
So if you love a romantic story with just the right amount of steamy scenes and suspense thrown into the mix, then this is the book for you. It was definitely a classic for me.
I give Coming Home to You Five out of Five Steamy Stars!!
Coming Home to you, written by Claire Raye, was amazing! I highly recommend it to anyone who is a fan of the Crossfire Series, by Sylvia Day. Within the first chapter, I was already sucked into the drama and a complication of what is Kelsey and Beckham crazy love story. The title is perfect for this book. Beckham comes home to protect his first love because she has the unfortunate luck of picking up a crazed stalker. This will be the first time in 10 years that Beckham has come home to his little sleepy hometown, and it’s also the first time that he has spoken to Kelsey in all that time. Will she forgive him for breaking her heart all those years ago? Will Beckham forgive himself? Will they get back together, even with everything standing in their way? They have chemistry, that is not the issue with them, which you will read about in their hot and steamy love scenes. But while trying to make their relationship work they also have to deal with Kelsey’s stalker. And he is man who will stop at nothing to get what and who he wants, and he wants Kelsey. But Beckham will stop at nothing to make sure that his first and only real love is safe. What will happen when these two men square off? I can’t say enough about how great this book is! Claire Raye is a skilled writer who really makes you believe this love story and all the emotion that goes with it. You really start rooting for these people just get forgive, forget, hope into bed together, and get out all the built up sexual tension! If you were a fan of 50 Shades or the Crossfire books, you will LOVE this book! Once I started reading it I couldn’t put it down, and I was sad when it ended. I can’t wait for Erin and Ryan’s story, which the start of is woven perfectly into this book!
I'm a little bit on the fence when it comes to this story. Clearly I can see that the author is a talented writer because the book itself is well written, but when it comes to the "old love" storyline, I either love it or hate it. In Coming Home to You I find myself not hating the story, but I don't really love it either. However, the first person POV was very well written and as a reader I can see the potential behind the story itself. Also, I found that Claire did a great job making Jason the stalker the biggest douche bag imaginable and the perfect crazy stalker we all love to read about in books, but hope to never actually deal with.
The storyline was OK, but I found myself wondering why they put each other through such anguish, but were only like an hour away from each other. When I first read the story blurb I thought we were talking hours away, so imagine my shock when I figure out the time difference. Also, I would have loved to see the characters talk just a little more. I realize they were first loves and grew up in the same town, but it has been 10 years. I just felt that there was so much focus on the sexual attraction between Beck and Kelsey that I don't feel they've created that relationship beyond their shared past.
However, while the story wasn't exactly for me, I would recommend this book because we all have different tastes and this story is something I know my sister would enjoy.
I did enjoy this book as a whole. I loved the plot where Beck (a hot shot Boston detective) comes back to his home town after 10 years, to protect the girl he left, when she gets herself a stalker. I love that you can see how much Beck and Kelsey still ove each other eveb after not speaking for 10 years. The idea of the stalker worked really well and it had me hooked throughout with his stabilty as you never knew what was going to happen next with it. I did however find this book a little repetitive. It seemed to be the same arguement that happened and they also "resolved" it in the same way. It made you feel like you were reading the same thing over again. I also found it a bit too graphic. I have read books like this before with a bit of sex and stuff in it and I dont have a problem with them. I didnt have a problem with it in this book either until the main bit at the end in Gloucester. I dont want to give away spoilers and thats why I wont say much else but if you read this book then you'll know what bit I mean. It just got a bit too much and I wasnt sure if I could carry on reading. Though of course, I did finish it and like I said overall I did really enjoty it otehrwise I wouldnt have given it 4 stars. I also loved Erin, Ryan and Finn and would enjoy to read about them in the future.
Claire Raye has delivered an incredible love story!!!
Detective Beckham "Beck" O'Loughlin had left Rockport 10 years ago, he left behind his father, his older brother and the love of his life Kelsey Walters. It has been 10 years of pretending he was happy how his life had turned out, yet deep down he knew he would never be happy because she was missing in his life.
Kelsey Walters was the owner of the inn where all the tourist stayed in Rockport, she was happy to keep his father's inn alive but she knew she was missing something and that something was Beck O'Loughlin. He had left her 10 years ago and she still missed him like it was yesterday.
After Kelsey's ex-boyfriend becomes obsess with her and things get out of hand Finn O'Loughlin Rockport's Chief of Police made a call to Boston Police Dept. and asked his younger brother to come and help Kelsey with a dangerous situation.
Can Kelsey and Beck be reunite once again after 10 long and lonely years or will their stubborn head keep them from continuing where they left off?
I love this book, it will take you to a journey where true love will prevail anything. Also the hint of thriller it will make it even more interesting.
You will not be disappointed when you read this book. I recommend it.
This is book one of the “Rockport Beach” series. This is the first book so I am not sure how the storyline flows with the next books but I am almost certain this can be read as a stand alone.
Book One is about Beck and Kelsey. These two fell in love in their younger years but ended up parting ways but not falling out of love. Fast forward 10 years later, one crazy stalker ends up bringing these two back together..
I love their relationship. Kelsey and Beck are perfect. Though if they were so in love I wasn’t sure how they didn’t phone or even drive to see each other seeing as they were only an hour way. That drove me a little nuts. And also how easily she forgave him. But past all that I loved it.
I know the next book is Ryan and Erin and I seem to have them figured out. I am super curious about Finn!!!
This book was very well written and flowed quite effortlessly. This small town of Rockport is beautiful and makes me want to live there. This book had edge, charm, love, humor, tragedy, twists, sexy and so much more..
**I received this book as a review copy and in return I have my honest review**
what an extremely fantastic and heart pounding & beautiful story. This story has the it all with the absolute perfect blend of everything from plot, suspense, mystery, romance, characters, and heated passion, better yet it was done in both the main characters POV which only added to the intensity of story, when you are able to read there's thoughts and feel there emotions as well as there chemistry, it gives the story such a more intense and realistic feel making it so easy to connect with the characters as well as the secondary characters that surrounds them, making it one amazing non-stop page turning story. This book was without a doubt a 5-star absolute must read. So looking forward to seeing what happens next in our small little town of Rockport Beach & loving the possibilities and the hot & steamy romance that is sure to follow. Not only do I now have a new favorite author but I also Highly recommend reading this story ASAP, I promise you it is so extremely worth it <3 <3 <3 <3 <3
This was my first Claire Raye book but definitely won’t be my last! Beck and Kelsey were high school sweethearts that broke up when one wanted to leave their small town for the big city and the other wanted to stay due to responsibilities. Ten years later, they are living separate lives and haven’t spoken to each other, yet think of each other often. When it gets back to Beck that Kelsey is being stalked by her ex-boyfriend, he takes it as his chance to get his girl back, since his feelings haven’t changed over time. While Kelsey still has feelings for Beck, when he decides to come back into her life she is anything but happy, but as the stalking escalates, she realizes there’s nobody else she’d rather have protect her. The chemistry between the two are explosive off the pages, and the added element of suspense from the stalker takes this book to the next level! I can’t wait to see what else Claire has in store for this series! I voluntarily read and reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
