Give Me #3

Give Me Grace

Rate this book
Book #3 in the Give Me series. Casey Daniels has a past forged in Hell. Despite the friends, the endless supply of women, and the muscle car he spent years restoring, it still eats away at him. Grace Paterson is in Sydney as a temporary bassist for Jamieson, the band Casey handles security for. She’s also infuriating, off-limits, and completely irresistible. A deal is struck, and despite their intense and powerful connection, both think it will be easy to walk away. But life can be more ruthless than either of them ever imagined. Not only does Grace have a secret she’s desperate to keep, Casey has questions from his past that he’s willing to do anything to get answers for. It’s not until someone wants one of them dead that Casey realises his love for Grace is the one thing he could never walk away from. In a story of revenge, betrayal, secrets, and love, Casey will need to reconcile his past with his present, before the future he never knew he wanted is snatched away. *Please Kate McCarthy is an Australian author and Australian English, spelling and slang have been used in this book. Kate McCarthy grew up in a small town outside of Port Macquarie, Australia. Raised in a house just a short walk to the beach, Kate enjoyed the peaceful, relaxed atmosphere and friendships that come from being raised in a friendly, small town area.
She now resides in Brisbane, Australia, a city in the state of Queensland where she works as an accountant, along with a sideline wedding cake business and her writing.
She is married with two children, has two dogs and house in the suburbs, and a pile of friends and family dotted all over the country that help keep her sane.
When she’s not busy running after naughty kids, filthy dogs, crunching numbers, piping buttercream and writing books, you can find her curled up in bed in the early hours of the morning reading new books and re-reading old favourites. Her favourite books are the Black Dagger Brotherhood series by J.R. Ward in which she longs to eventually join the brotherhood and change her name to Phierce Mutha.

Give Me Grace was a great addition to this series and I enjoyed seeing these two characters together. Grace and Casey had some amazing back and forth banter that had me entrapped within their story, and I really liked them. I still had a few issues with how the story was told, sometimes stopping a scene at the end of the chapter and not continuing onto the next chapter, instead having the next chapter eventually go back in time. Same issues as I had with the previous book.

Bottom line, I'm hooked on this series now and I can't wait for the next book. These can definitely be read as a standalone but all the secondary characters will have you begging for more from it.

After reading Kelly's book "The Thief" ,I figured it was time for another Casey re-read ;)

Re-read 5/30/17 to prepare for book 4 !

5 stars.jpg (703×245):

This is the 3rd book in this amazing series and I can absolutely say that it was awesome !! So far it is definitely my favorite.....one of the reasons for this....Casey <3

tumblr_inline_o0phx0O0sJ1tfamhd_500.gif (500×280)

Who doesn't like a book with a Jensen Ackles look-alike....No one that's who !!!

Casey has been a favorite of mine, ever since he was introduced in book 1. Now these books are stand-alone's but they have many wonderful sidecharacters, and to enjoy everything to the fullest, I recommend you start reading wtih book 1 ;)

Casey is part owner of Valantine and Jamieson Security and Consultancy, together with Jared and Travis (book 1/2). Throughout this series we get little hints about Casey's horrible past...but things were so much worse than I thought... It broke my heart.

tumblr_nhujs2XQwA1tg5md6o1_500.gif (500×228)

Valentine and Jamieson Security is also responsible for the security of the famous band "Jamieson". Reason for this being that they all close friends and some are related to each other. This is how Casey meets Grace.

Grace, a well known model, is coming to town to help out her brother Henry, who is the band's guitarist. The band's bassist has broken his arm and they need someone to temporarily replace him. Grace being the wonderful sister that she is agrees to help them out.

62a12bbefce621ca0a99ff0f550797ed.jpg (236×353):

Casey and Travis are send to pick her up from the airport and Casey and Grace don't exactly get off on the right foot.... What I loved about Grace, was that she didn't let anyone walk all over her. She gave as good as she got, and those kind of heroines are my favorite !!

The banter between these two was absolutely wonderful and the sexual tension was so thick, you could cut it with a knife.

tumblr_inline_mwoo9dW7S01rakmv7.gif (500×282)

Of course the two of them can't stay away from each other long and so they finally give in to their desires. They agree to just enjoy each other for the remaining 8 weeks until Grace leaves again. She makes him promise her to let her go once their time together is up. Casey, really wanting himself some Grace agrees...not knowing how his feelings will change...

tumblr_mde8o67idx1qlrwjdo1_500.gif (500×198)

And their feelings do change.....it doesn't take too long for the two of them to fall in love. But Grace is keeping some very important and personal secrets...and we all know, that secrets always have a way of coming out.

I adored this book. It was funny, sweet, extremely hot, suspencefull and emotional. They are definitely my favorite couple so far. I am saying so far, because Mac and Jake's book still has to come out and you never know....

104_zpsf731eec6.gif (500×213)

I mean, Mac is a very kickass heroine, so I am curious to see what's gonna happen next...especially with that ending ;)

6++ TOTAL BADASS STARS

SQUEEEEEEEEEEEE. This book is SO AMAZING!!!!!

I'm so completely in love with this series. If you haven't read it, do it!!!

description

Kate McCarthy’s Give Me Series is like a drug to me. I can’t get enough. It’s an addiction I wish upon everyone who loves reading a romance with a side of badass. It will leave your heart pumping and craving another hit. This book to me was simply incredible. I loved it, I loved it, I loved it!! We’ve been waiting for Casey’s story since he stole our hearts in book #1 and it was more than worth the wait.

Right now, I’m struggling to accept the fact that this book has now moved to my read pile. I miss Casey and Grace so much already. I could have devoured this epic story in one looooong sitting but I took my time drinking it all in, not wanting to miss a thing. It was incredibly addictive with every single page highly entertaining. Casey is that special character that you pray will get the chance to tell his story but when his time finally arrives, you wish that it would just go on forever. Casey is kinda special to me and his story was absolutely perfect.

“I saw the love my best friend, Travis, had for his wife, Quinn. I watched how every touch between the two brought a light to their eyes. They put each other’s happiness before their own. They mattered to each other. I wanted that”

I’m an absolute mess – Kate knows how to rip every emotion out of you. I cried, I swooned, I got hot, my heart raced, my mouth hung open for an absurd amount of time with plot twists hitting me out of nowhere. I literally read this book word. for. word. Hanging onto everything that I could, because it was one hellova ride.

“The Jamison and Valentine clan might have been my family, and don’t get me wrong, when everything was good with them, it was like stars aligned and shimmery fairy dust fell from the heavens, but when it went to shit, it went there via the seventh circle of hell”

If you’re looking for a suspenseful, action packed, beautiful, incredibly steamy romance filled with the hottest goddamn Aussie alphas on the planet, then this is it. This book has TWO of the h.o.t.t.e.s.t sex scenes I have ever read. And Casey & Grace’s first kiss… Oh my god, hot. Just so.damn.hot.

“No man had the right to look as good as he did and turn out to be an asshole. The fact that I wanted to run my hands over that smooth golden skin was like the universe playing a cruel joke.”

Kate’s writing style is perfection and flowed effortlessly. Her characters are so vivid and the story line will suck you right in, keeping you on the edge of your seat and have you hooked until the very last page.

This is Casey’s story. It’s deep, it’s emotional, it’s intense and it’s heartbreaking. It’s also incredibly beautiful and heartwarming. Casey and Grace are perfect for each other and by perfect I mean perfectly imperfect. In the beginning, they’re like a bomb ready to explode.

“Screw you Casey,” I hissed as we stopped in front of the magnificent car that I wanted to kick with the heel of my shiny black boot. “Oh wait. That must be your problem, right? You’re all uptight because who wants to fuck a douchebag?”

Grace Paterson is one of my favourite heroines. She’s a firecracker. She’s head strong, gutsy and doesn’t take crap from anyone. She’s also hiding a secret that she’s desperate to keep because it will bring her entire world crashing down, taking everyone she knows with it.

Casey Daniels is what I call the perfect hero. He was that side character in books #1 and #2 that you were just dying to get to know and the one fighting the toughest battle. He’s sexy, overprotective, cocky, stubborn and is oh my god sexy… oh wait, I already said that. ;)
I’m in love with you, Casey Daniels.

Now I just want to take a moment to mention the bromance in this book. Casey and Travis. I freaking love these two. They are so funny together, the perfect best friends. They pay each other out and it’s hilarious, but one would take a bullet for the other and it just warms my heart. * sigh * Love these two.

“You’re a big dude, Travis. You can take him on in a fight, can’t you?” Travis shook his head, “These muscles are for display purposes only.”

LMAO!!

This book just blew me away. It’s amazing, it’s sexy, it’s funny and it’s full of action. Never a dull moment.

“You’re fast becoming my world, Grace, and that world is a place I never want to leave.”

Part of the Give Me Series but can be read as a standalone

WARNING: Major Gushfust Ahead.....Kate McCarthy's done it again - Another Knock Out Read !!

4.5 GIVE ME....MoRe StArS

Meet Casey Daniels Ladies....

I've been crushing on Casey Daniels.....what feels like forever....and now he get's to tell his story in Give Me Grace.

Give Me Grace CAN be read as a standalone....so ladies if you want a dangerously sexy, hot broody alpha male to swoon over, look no further......Casey Daniels WON'T disappoint!!

As with all of the Give Me Love series it has EVERYTHING I love in a book plenty of action, hilarious banter, more hot guys than you can shake a stick at.

The Valentine Brothers from Jamieson and Valentine Consulting - are specialist hostage negotiators/security company and they are all MEGA HOT.

....and of course the guy's from the band Jamieson are just as yummy. There'll have you panting, and wanting more!!

So here's the jist of the story, not giving anything away........

Grace Paterson arrives at Sydney Airport, coming to the aid of her brother Henry to help out as a temporary bassist for the band Jamieson.

Grace

Casey and Travis are sent to pick Grace up from the airport, but from the moment their paths cross there is a tangible chemistry between the two of them.

Their story is laced with revenge, betrayal, secrets and love. But as they find out life can be ruthless.

Grace's Super Hero - Casey

I highly recommend this engaging, entertaining, sexy as fuck, bad-ass story.....you won't be disappointed!!

Grace arrives in Sydney to help her brothers band out. Casey is part of the security responsible for the band. Both holding back secrets of their own, will they give in to their attraction?

I love the fun banter. I adore Casey, the sweet cocky caveman. I loved Grace's sarcastic humour. However, I felt Grace's secret was too dragged out and felt quite anticlimatic. The middle lost my attention a little. Also, I dont get why it took all these years for certain secrets to be revealed.

Overall I enjoyed it, had great main characters, with sexy time, humour, action and suspense, it has it all. But the ending... well that was just mean!!! I needed Macs book 2 years ago!!! Lol

Casey’s past has led him to a life where making a difference means making up for how he thinks he failed in the past. He’s wanted answers to one question and was willing to do whatever it took to get those answers. Just as everything is within his reach, his life shifts, Grace walks into his world and nothing is ever going to be the same.

Grace gave up everything for her family. She’s had a good life, but a lonely one. When Henry, her brother calls and asks her to step up to play bass for Jamieson, she can’t refuse doing anything she can to help him. It’s been what she’s been doing since she was fourteen.

 photo Screenshot_1_zps9b89eb70.jpg

When Grace and Casey meet sparks fly, but as much as their attraction is obvious they can’t seem to stop arguing. When they finally give into their attraction, Casey realizes that he might have found the one thing that will allow him to move on from his past. The one person he has willingly allowed to truly see his pain. But Grace is still harboring a secret, one that she isn’t willing to share yet. Her time is limited with Casey and she knows that walking away from him will destroy her. Casey is certain that he can convince her to stay, now that he has her there is no way he is ever going to let her go.

Together they try to gain answers to Casey’s past but as they dig deeper and threats appear it is unclear as to who the target truly is.

 photo Screenshot_2_zps72a20f0f.jpg

The Give Me Series is one of those series that from the first story I was hooked. Each character so far has surpassed the one before and the writing just gets better and better. Casey has been the one that I’ve been waiting for. There was something so tragically broken about him in the last book and I knew from those moments with Quinn in Give Me Strength that he was going to fully capture my heart.

Kate McCarthy delivers a cast of strong characters, hot alpha-men and a twisty plot that keeps you riveted the entire read. What I absolutely love about these characters is that you can feel their connection as they interact. Whether they are in the midst of a tense situation or just joking around with one another; their love for each other can just be felt. Every one of these characters is damn near perfect and not a single thing in this series is reparative or overdone. The heat between the characters is off the charts, from fun flirty banter to intense primal need; these scenes scorching.

The Give Me Series is a blend of suspense and romance, balanced with injections of just enough emotions to ensure that you can’t deny that you’re feeling everything right along with the characters. There is no room for weakness in these characters. None of that annoying heroine crap that leaves you focusing solely on the hero – both of them make this story work.

I hated having to wait for this book, but now that I’ve finished it – the wait was worth it. Casey needed a story that lived up to the character that she created and gave us glimpses of in the other books – mission accomplished.

If you haven’t discovered Kate McCarthy, I recommend that you pick up one of her books. The Give Me Series is a good place to start or if you enjoy a good emotional romance, Fighting Redemption was absolutely beautiful.

As I sit here trying to write my review all I can think is HOLY CRAP! Where to start?! What a wild ride! I have been waiting for Casey's book since Give Me Love. As excited as I was for his book, I was also a bit nervous to see if it would meet my high expectations and honestly...it completely did!

Casey Daniels has made promises in his past that have shaped his decisions. One he failed to keep that has f***ed him up. One he made to his friend Travis that helped him get on with his life and find direction. And one that time is fast ticking away on that he vows to resolve asap. He is surrounded by friends that are his family, but is still lonely and unfulfilled. He hides behind smirks, sarcasm, and casual sex. But he is determined to settle some demons from his past once and for all even if he has to use some people to do it.

Promises were made to be broken, right? Wrong. Not when breaking them meant you failed so f***ing bad, you lost your entire world in the blink of an eye...It was like you were somehow still breathing even though your heart wasn't beating anymore.

Grace Paterson is called to Sydney by her older brother Henry, the lead guitarist for the band Jamieson. They need a fill in for an injured bassist and she agrees to help. She is a model, living a life she never wanted and dealing with her own demons nipping at her heels. She has armor that is strong and a plenty of attitude.

"You've just gotta lose the cold armour, Grace....He won't be able to bust down your castle walls if you don't....You need someone who's going to push your buttons, and not just the ones in your panties." (John)

Put these two people together who are already walking the edge and having a really bad day and Kaboom! It equals anger, sparks, sparring, temptation, tricks, taunting, a**holery, and a bi**hfest. But the more they end up in each other's presence, the more their interactions fluctuate. Casey and Grace fall into this flirty, feisty rapport and it is hard to resist despite Casey being warned off by overprotective family. But they both have issues swirling around them, affecting their present and their ability to consider a relationship. And Casey places great emphasis on keeping promises so when making new promises it is a scary prospect. The test will be if they can satisfy their itch without getting emotionally involved because they both have situations in their lives making "them" a bad idea.

I have loved Casey since the beginning and fell even harder for him while getting his point of view and seeing his hurt, pain, fear and insecurities under his tough, cocky facade. He is sexy, charismatic, funny, and also conflicted, damaged, and lost. And he will do whatever he has to for those that he cares about. And when he cares, he loves hard and deep. His past is eating him up and he needs answers in order to move on.

And Grace is pretty bad ass herself. She gives back as good as she gets. She is sassy and tough and a bit edgy, but also sweet. She is responsible and cares about those important to her and sacrifices herself if needed. We also get her point of view and see how complicated her own world and feelings are. She has secrets that she is reluctant to share.

I loved them together no matter if they were fighting, teasing, kissing, loving or pushing each other. They make each other crazy, but they are alike in many ways. They are independent, stubborn, passionate people with deep hurts but big hearts. But they have so many obstacles internally and externally. And just when one thing would go their way, it seems like another issue would come up. She and Casey are both tough with hard shells, but are vulnerable and soft underneath. They want a connection but are afraid to grasp it. And Holy H*ll their chemistry is hot! Like sizzling hot! Not only their verbal interactions, but the passion of their physical reactions are intense. But their time together has a built in expiration date adding more stress to the situation.

Be careful what you wish for, Casey, because once you get it, giving it back is gonna hurt like a motherf***er.

"People come and go, Casey. Some crash into your life and leave in the blink of an eye, others stay with you for years, but it doesn't matter how long you have them for....because the way they make you feel stays with you forever, and you've made me feel so much."

This installment is full of sexual tension, fiery interactions, secrets, lies, mystery, intrigue and underlying danger. Things always seem to get this messy, complicated, dangerous and explosive when the bad ass brigade, their friends, or women are involved. And it is not always the men's fault or their jobs since the women often are in the middle of it all too. It is a race to stay safe and get answers with many variables in play. It kept me thinking, guessing, shocked, surprised, and totally enthralled. I loved trying to piece all the little details together to try to figure out where the story was going and was was really going on. There were several twists I never saw coming and lots of situations that made me think and and try hard to figure out before they were fully revealed. But it was such a journey getting there. It had me laughing, gasping, sad, scared, angry, frustrated, happy, swooning, and worried all at various times. These characters(and I) were literally put through the wringer. *Side note: I admit I actually messaged Kate McCarthy and called her out as being mean to my poor Casey. She just kind of laughed at me. Evil? Perhaps.

The Jamieson and Valentine clan might have been may family, and don't get me wrong, when everything was good with them, it was like the stars aligned and shimmery fairy dust fell from the heavens, but when it went to sh*t, it went there via the seventh circle of hell.

This book packed in a lot of story, but seemed perfectly paced. Some of the slower parts were funny or sweet, and then others were suspenseful, dramatic, sexy or revealing that pushed the story faster. But at no time was I bored. In fact in ways I did not want to see it end. She began giving hints at some potential upcoming stories with Mac, Jake, Mitch, and Coby. And I would have been happy to just continue right on into one of their stories.

I love all of the characters in this series. They are all so unique, strong, dynamic, and quirky. They play hard, love hard, and stand up for each other. But also torture, terrorize, tease, and bust each other as needed. We got to see more of Coby, Mitch, Henry, and Tim in this one who have always been more in the background, along with the other couples Travis and Quinn, Jared and Evie, and the rest of the gang from the other books. We also met a couple of new guys who really interested me and another kick ass woman too. And more of Grace's family and friends. Oh and even a dog from hell that was quite a character himself.

Fans of this series will totally fall for Casey and Grace. This series just keeps getting better and I am excited for more. But I can honestly say I feel that Kate did Casey proud and exceeded my high expectations. It was humorous, emotional, powerful, surprising, and intense. She took the story to places I never even considered, threw in some big twists, shook things up, and brought it all back together. And I devoured every page of it and was left emotionally spent when I was done.

I was gifted a beta copy in exchange for an honest review. Quotes subject to change in final edited draft. Will be posted at Reviews by Tammy and Kim.

SAM'S REVIEW -

EVERYONE......YES! THAT INCLUDES YOU READING THIS. STOP WHAT YOU ARE DOING AND GO AND BUY THIS BOOK! Like, right NOW! Kate McCarthy, this is going on my favourites of all time reads. This story of Grace and Casey is full of everything I want and NEED from a book. It is soooooo much more than just a story. This is a journey full to the brim of romance, HEART BURSTING LOVE, and just...........oh WOW!

“Remember when you told me you loved me that first time? And when you said that some people leave you in the blink of an eye, and some are with you for years? I promise you, Grace, no matter what happens, you’ll be with me forever, because you’re in my heart, and I won’t let you leave.”

I would hate to ruin this plot and story for anyone else, so the next part of this review is really not going to give much away because you all need to read this and experience it personally! But some things I will say are, Grace is a WONDERFUL lead female, full of funnies and total SASSYNESS that makes me as a woman want to fist bump my kindle! Casey...... DEAR LORD.....I am in love. For real. L.O.V.E with that guy. He has the biggest most beautiful love for Grace that literally makes your heart pound, gives you butterflies in your tummy and you find yourself sitting with the goofiest cheesiest shit eating grin on your face.

Kate, this is a message to you as the author. This story is one of the best most beautiful I have had the pleasure of reading. Grace and Casey’s story completely stole a piece of my heart, but hey, you can keep it, because for me it was that special I am proud that you own a piece!

Re-read 2017, in preparation for Give Me Hell.
I knew what was coming, so this time round the desperation was missing, however I enjoyed thoroughly catching up with these guys. Bring on Give Me Hell!
I fully appreciated Kelly and Fox from The Vipers, of which Kate has announced a spinoff series coming up next.
I look forward to books for Coby and Mitch, and just putting out there, a novella for Henry would be perfect.
Memorable mention to Tim, Casey's gay personal assistant. He made me cry during my first read 2 years ago, and made me laugh my ass off this time round.

Originally read 2015:
It's no secret, the Give Me series by Australian author Kate McCarthy, is one of my favourites! It's romantic suspense at its best: kidnappings, car crashes, explosions, shootings set it's best, with swooning hot romance.
This book was one of my most anticipated this year, and it did not disappoint!!
Heartfelt, emotional, sexy, exciting, chew on your fingernails stuff!! You've probably read enough about the synapses, I feel you should go into this blind. We know this is Casey's story with Grace. There's a lot of mystery about Casey's past, and as he gets further into his investigation, his past endangers his forming relationship with Grace.
My comments while reading this: "shit shit shit, shit's hit the fan!!" Lol, articulate I know, but my heart was racing a million beats per minute, and it was 1am in the morning!!
These books mix a whole lot of suspense, heartfelt back story, continuing beloved characters who are just like family, with lots of laughs & shenanigans. Totally engrossing, I highly recommend these!!
I'm now desperate for Mac & Jake's story, and also Mitch and Gabriella's story.
If you haven't read these books, if you love Kristen Ashley, you will love these.

5 STARS

Holy vegemite sandwiches. I’ve said it once and I’ll say it again: I’m ready to jump the badass brigade, join the crazy lady parade and install myself in McCarthy’s imaginary world.

Give Me Love was one of my stand-out, read-it-over-and-over-again reads of 2013. And 2013 was a good year in books, so that’s saying a lot.

Give Me Strength? Eh. Not so much. It was great and all, but it never quite reached Jared and Evie heights of goodness.

Give Me Grace? Monstrously good.

Casey and Grace

Casey and Grace don’t meet in a haze of romance. There’s no soft candlelight, no zing of electricity as they touch for the first time, no stolen glances or love at first sight. They meet in an airport bathroom where Casey first body-slams Grace and second accuses Grace of being a drug mule. Grace then proceeds to wreck Casey’s beautifully restored car, twice, and basically turn his life upside down.

There was nothing I didn’t love about these two, together or apart. Their relationship unfolded in the right way, at the right pace. Meaning it unravelled in fits and starts, hit a few potholes and derailed at least 3 times. What’s love, if not messy?

The plot

In true McCarthy fashion, there are a number of sub-plots unfolding in the background and a number of twists which McCarthy alludes to but which nevertheless manage to shock the hell out of me when they’re revealed.

There is drama, there is suspense, there is humour and heartache and a bittersweet ending.

The short and long of it
If you’re looking for a romantic suspense that is off the beaten track, a little bit sad, a lot awesome and filled with unforgettable characters, this should be your next read.

I absolutely loved this book! This is the third book in the Give Me series and it's Casey and Grace's story. This can be read as a standalone although I recommend reading the series in order for maximum enjoyment. This series just gets better and better, i liked the first book, loved the second and absolutely loved this book. Casey is a former cop and works with his best friend Travis (H from book 2) as security consultants as well as providing security for Travis's sisters (h from book 1) band Jamieson when they play gigs. The bands bass player has an accident and can't play so Henry the guitarist calls in his sister Grace to take over. Grace is an international model who takes Henry's offer as an excuse to get away from her 'life' for 8 weeks. Both Casey and Grace have gone through major loss in their lives and both have secrets related to those loses. I loved the banter between the MCs, loved the suspense, the drama/angst and the pacing. Kate Mccarthy's writing style drew me in and held me captive. There were a lot of times where I was LOL, times where I was sitting on the edge of my seat in suspense, some where if was literally screaming at my iPad in anger and yes there were some tears moments there too. Basically, this story took me through a roller coaster of emotions and I loved every minute of it. Highly recommend this book/series. Can't wait for the next book. Standalone. Cheating?

2.5 stars

I've never read any novels from Kate McCarthy. I haven't read book 1 & 2, and I don't know if it wasn't a good idea.

The story..is long.. or maybe I was just to antsy to read 'Precarious'. I skipped here and there. I did like the drama, the accidents, etc.

Why 2.5 stars? It ain't enough for me, I mean it's long but it's not satisfying enough.

I always love everything this author writes, not a joke. This was no different. Badass MCs. Great story. Amazing friends. Big, giant, cuddly family. Unexpected twists. Necessary drama. What's not to love?

THAT EPILOGUE/PROLOGUE THOUGH!!!!

Give Me Grace is the third book of the Give Me Series. Each book features a new couple with no cliffhangers and, as such, Give Me Grace works perfectly well as a standalone novel although I can highly recommend the first two books in this series.

I don’t think it’s a big secret that I’m a huge fan of Kate McCarthy’s books. The Give Me Series have been a big hit with me so a new instalment is always something to be excited about and I can’t tell you how much I’ve been anticipating Casey’s story. In the previous two books in the series, his dark and tortuous past has only been hinted at and, despite trying to get info out of Ms McCarthy, I was still pretty much in the dark as I headed into this one.

Casey Daniels is part of the Jamieson/Valentine badass alpha security crew and has been very much a prominent character in the previous books in the series. He’s an easy going manwhore – albeit a very charming manwhore but he’s been going through women faster than a hot knife through butter and isn’t about to go the same way as Travis and Jared and become a one woman man. He’s also had a painful childhood and he’s still looking for answers to explain the awful events that saw him lose his entire family.

He thinks he’s never going to be smitten by a woman until he sets eyes on Grace. Grace is an incredibly successful jetset supermodel who left home at a tender age to further her career on the international catwalks and provide for the family she left behind in the depths of grief after the loss of her mother. Her brother Henry has never really forgiven her for walking out when they needed her most, completely misunderstanding her motives, but he calls in a favour and asks her to come play guitar for Jamieson, his band, and Grace knows the time is right to take a break from the cameras and attempt to build some bridges with her brother.

Of course, she doesn’t bank on meeting Casey Daniels and finding her life in danger and placing her safety firmly in his hands. Cue yet another high octane, super-sexy romantic suspense from Kate McCarthy. This just sizzles with sexual chemistry as both Casey and Grace attempt to resist that all consuming attraction that they share until they finally succumb and agree on a no-commitment temporary fling until Grace once again leaves town to go back to modelling.

I really adored both Casey and Grace. Casey is your typical alpha-caveman – very possessive, very sure of himself and pretty determined to protect his woman when he sees her life is in danger. He’s sexy, funny, incredibly charming – very hard for Grace to resist although she does her best! Grace is Sassy with a big old capital S – she’s had to learn to develop a thick skin from an early age to deal with the cut and thrust of the modelling world and she’s also holding a secret that will practically bring Casey to his knees.

Combine these two strong characters with a rip-roaring suspense plot plus add in all the characters we’ve come to know and love as we’ve read the series and spice it up with super hot sex scenes and you’ve got the perfect combination for sexy romantic suspense. This series has had me on the edge of my seat right from the very first book and Give Me Grace definitely delivers.

It’s sexy, action-packed and will be a big hit with fans of Kristen Ashley’s Rock Chick series.

4.5 sexy suspenseful stars

I just finished Give Me Grace and I loved it. It just keep getting better and better. This is apart of the Give Me series so it does need to be read in order to get the full effect. This story follows the Valentine family and friends. Mitch, Mac, Travis and Jared are the Valentines. Their friends Evie, Henry, Jake, Cooper, and Frog are in a band called Jamieson. Travis, Jared, Colby ( Evies brother) and Casey are consultants that help with kidnapping a and dangerous situations It seems like a lot of people but honestly once you read the first, it's all makes sense. In reading order is Give Me Love which is about Jared and Evie. Give me Strength is about Travis and Quinn. Now this is about Casey and Grace (Henrys sister). They both have secrets and are unwilling to share. Grace is only there to help out the band and she plans on going back to her home in 2 months time. Casey is smitten once he meets her and doesn't hide it. Casey isn't used to feeling the way he does but knows that there is something special about Grace. Grace doesn't want to admit her feelings to Casey at first but she can't take their sexual banter anymore but she sets up a proposal. 8 weeks is all they get and he has to agree to let her go back home. He agrees because he knows that there is no other way to have her but what she doesn't know is that he plans on not letting her go back home. You will have to read and see what happens.

I'm really digging this series. At first I just thought that it was way to many characters but I had still enjoyed it. I'm so glad that I stuck with it. Kate has a way to bring you into the mix as if you are apart of their family and because of hat I do not want to let it go. Damn I have to wait a year for the next one!!! Shite. But that's ok. I would rather wait then to have not read these at all. The characters are amazing. All having their own voice. Neither one the same and they continue to be the same throughout the series. Love that! The plots are different for each story and things just keep adding to the mix that make it better and ordinal. Brava to Kate. I'm addicted!!!

Casey was he one I was waiting for. Sexy beast with an inner turmoil that you know is not gonna be good. I figured it out what had happened to him. Poor guy. I just wanted him to find answers. Boy did he. Loved the spin on it. Grace is a strong girl. She needed to be because I knew it was gonna take that type of character to hold Casey down. They are both stubborn and the going back and forth had me smiling. They are a sexy couple and with that being said the sexual banter/tension/scenes have gotten better. I asked for more and boy did I get it!!!

I love all the characters in this series. From above to new additions just makes this an all around heart felt series and I am so glad that I could be apart of it. You have no idea until you read this. Take a chance. You won't regret it!!!!

Did someone say fangirl? I met Ms McCarthy earlier this year and I.lost.the.plot. There was rambling, me hanging on her every word, me talking & laughing embarrassingly loud and then there was the constant need to touch her. Hi, my name’s Jodie & I'm a Kate McCarthy fangirl.

You think I loved the first books in this series and raved about Jared? You think I swooned over Travis? You have no idea what Casey Daniels did to my libido. Fuck me with a duck, Casey is da man. He shops in Naughty But Nice (whatever was in that bag?!), loathes Monday’s almost as much as I do, and he’s sex on legs. Hi, my name’s Jodie and I’m in love with the entire Badass Brigade.

Want hilarious banter from beginning to end?
Want a strong & feisty woman that isn’t afraid to bring out the claws?
Want do-overs? Over and over again?
Want a big badass car with massive motherfucker tyres?
Want to hear about the fishing charter?
Want action? In the sheets, on the bonnet, in the cupboard? Holy shitballs. The hotness.
Want to meet Mitsy? An upholstery chewing dog that is so completely unlovable?
Want to giggle until you have tears only for those tears to turn to tears of heartbreak?
Want more Badass Brigade?
Want more time with the Jamison / Valentine gang?
Want family secrets, a break and enter & revenge?

Give Me Grace delivers all this plus so much more. You will swoon, sigh and cry like a baby. Told in dual point of view from 2 characters keeping their cards close to their chests, it packs a helluva punch. McCarthy never fails to impress the pants off me. She’s my go-to author for swoonworthy men, sassy women, drama and action, and the best banter in town.

I’m left chomping on the bit for more. Perhap a Mac triangle? Square? Gimme gimme gimme.

I can’t recommend this series highly enough. Bravo Ms McCarthy...

I did not read the previous books in this series, I received this one for a blog tour an walked into it not knowing anything about any of these characters prior to page one, but now that I've read Give Me Grace I will go back and start from the beginning.

This book took me on an emotional ride, I was angry, heart broken, crying, wanting to scream at a character or two, at times I wanted to slap some sense into them as well. I expected a book of this length to move slow enough that I would lose interest but it didn't. There were some aspects I wish would have moved along a little quicker but the pace gave us plenty of back and forth banter between the characters we would have missed out on, banter that makes this story even better.

Casey and Grace have so much to work through to get to a good point together, and I enjoyed getting to know them, learning their pasts, secrets and fears. I can't wait to start this series from book one and get caught up for the fourth which after reading Give Me Grace, I'm not sure I'm prepared to wait until next year for more!

I don't do spoilers so you get your synopsis and my opinion, I despise spoiler reviews, I want to experience all the good and bad in the book, not through someones review!

9/19/14-9/24/14: I am not sure if this gets a 4 or a 5. By the time I reached the end it felt too short but while I was reading it felt too long... I was dying to get more info! I liked the characters a lot. I'm not used to the Australian lingo, etc. but I love the depth it adds. It does make me wonder about Australian guys....do they all have such one-track minds? Ha! It was funny, but sweet, lots of danger and excitement. I love the series already, so of course I can't wait for the next one, but it didn't leave me with as much of an impression this time around. Not sure what it is. I don't know much about biker gangs...is this a big thing there? It felt a little weird to me even once I got used to the idea. Not sure how I'm supposed to feel about those bikers. I was happy when Morgan got her due though, could not STAND her. Also, I could stare at the cover all day long. Just sayin.

10/8/17-10/17/17: Okay, its a 5. I still don’t get that whole biker thing, but this book was awesome. How did I forget all of this stuff? I love these books but apparently my brain has no room to remember details. I can’t believe I first read this 3 years ago. Well, it was fan-freakin-tastic. Loved it all. I didn’t remember most of it, so yay me. It was like reading it for the first time again.

5 FAN-FREAKING-TASTIC STARS!!!

I cannot get enough of this series! Kate McCarthy, you have seriously done it again! Entering repeat mode, if you are a fan of KA and her Rock Chick series, what the hell are you waiting for?! Pick up this series NOW! This is full of laugh out loud, quirky, loving group of badasses and crazy women. It has you on the flooring laughing your ass off one second and in a fit of tears the next. You might be able to get through reading Give Me Grace as a stand alone but why hell would you want to do that?! I highly recommend starting from the beginning with Give Me Love so you can get the full background on how this group started.

Give Me Grace is the story of Casey and the fill-in bass player, Grace. Casey has one hell of a past that was not at all pretty and Grace has a past full of sorrow and loss. This is a story of their undeniable connection full of some HOT HOT sex and a ride of their lives.

Ms. Kate McCarthy, if there is ANYTHING I can do to speed up the process to get Mac's book any sooner, I'll do it. Coffee? Gourmet Chocolates? Trip to Fiji? :)

Once again, Kate has upped her game with Give Me Grace, the latest addition to this series. It has everything I love: romance, humor, great characters, sexy times and suspense, plus a few sweet moments.
I have been waiting for Casey’s story since I finished Give Me Strength last year, and it was definitely worth the wait. Not only did we get to reminisce with the whole gang from the previous two books, but we’re introduced to a couple of new characters that I believe we’ll see their stories at some point. Casey and Grace together are explosive, even if they aren’t trying to piss each other off or avoiding their non-relationship. We also received a nice, healthy dose of suspense and thrills, just like the previous books, and it only enhanced the plot to my enjoyment. But, even though they started out together as temporary sex partners, it ended with a HEA, and an epilogue leading into Book 4 which I needed yesterday. This story (and series) is worth picking up, especially if you enjoy Kristen Ashley, Skye Jordan, or Nicola Claire. ~ Marissa [July 2014]

I loved this just as much second time round! I am so in love with this series and characters. Romantic Suspense is such a great genre and Kate McCarthy does it so well. She manages to do it with depth and humour and everything in between. I really enjoyed Casey and Grace's story. There was this energy between them that was electric and you could tell they were perfect for each other from the start. Both hard headed but there was also a vulnerability inside the two of them that would show when they let their guard down. I liked how even the smallest detail that you didn't think much of would end up fitting into this bigger puzzle. Now you can't have a book in the Give Me Series that doesn't have some disaster and this book definitely didn't disappoint. Give this book a go, you wont regret it.

P.s Kate McCarthy describes Casey as being a Jensen Ackles lookalike which makes it more perfect because Jensen will be my future husband! Although if Casey was real....yes please!
