Lovely and original romance featuring an ex-stripper heroine, Jade, and a hero, Emmett, who's taken a virginity vow and is serious about adhering to it. There is a paranormal element in the form of a demon and his lackeys (collected souls or "essences") who lives in Jade's grandmother's basement and has nefarious plans concerning Jade and Emmett.
There are Christian themes too, in that Emmett is a Christian who is sincere about his faith, without being pushy, and his faith offers him some protection from the demon. There's also a minor character who's an angel.
I particularly enjoyed the dynamic between Jade and Emmett. I liked how Emmett accepted Jade as she was, without zero drama or judgment about her past as a stripper. And from Jade's perspective, coming from a world where she's been constantly objectified, being with a guy who is determined not to have sex until marriage, and is in no hurry to get married either, is a healing experience because she's being appreciated as a whole person and not for her body parts.
Emmett is an especially likeable character because he's so comfortable with himself. He knows exactly what he wants out of life, and except for not being in a relationship, he has it, and he's happy. Of course there's that demon to contend with. I also enjoyed scenes between Jade and her vivacious grandmother. This is definitely a unique and fun read.

Tempt You….
I really enjoyed this book. However, the one thing that gets me about this author is the sometimes unbelievable mixes she puts together. This book is better, but the Christian/Shaman? Also, please get the name right from Bible stories. But overall this is a likable book.

This is a unique read that combines steamy romantic elements and thoughts with a Christian theme. Emmett, a likable and hot-looking twenty-seven year old is trying to remain faithful to a virginity vow he took as a teenager. Because his Christian faith is important to him, he wants to honor God and save himself for marriage. That’s hard enough for a red-blooded male with temptation all around him, but even harder when he meets Jade, an ex-stripper from Boston who arrives to house sit for her grandmother while the older woman recovers in a nursery home.
Complicating the situation is a demon entity inhabiting Jade’s grandmother’s home. Along with a seductive female soul he collected centuries in the past, he plans to use Jade and Emmett to gain freedom from the abyss where he’s been imprisoned. It’s Emmett’s faith coupled with Jade’s strength and their love their for each other that help them triumph in the end. Unusual and fast-paced reading.

Read this paranormal romance as part of the Passionate Kisses 2 boxed set, because I had just read Reckless, the first one in the series, and enjoyed it. I was disappointed in this one. Combining a devout Christian man with a chastity vow, with a stripper, with a demon who assaults the heroine with sexual dreams, and much graphic depiction of the latter? Yuck.

Beyond Tempting
Jessi Gage kept me wondering all the way through this story how she was going to play this out and I enjoyed what she did with it.
An absolute page turner for me and I read very few paranormal stories.
