Forrest Winters is an enigma. He is tall, good looking, has been voted most eligible bachelor on campus and is only a year from completing his graduate degree and becoming a professor. While not wealthy like many of his fellow students, he would be a great catch. One problem, he has never been interested in any of the women who constantly flirt with him. He figures finishing his schooling is the highest priority and he’ll focus on life after that.

Forrest’s dad is a security guard at the Irvine Art Center, and he calls Forrest to let him know a painting that has been hidden in a monastery for 500 years has recently been purchased by a rich American and is now on loan to the Center. Because of the dad connection, Forrest is able to go and view the painting all on his own. The painting is a beautiful painting of a dragon. But why do the eyes seem to be looking right at him? And then a voice starts talking to him asking for water, and no one else is in the room except him.

Forrest thinks he is going crazy because the voice keeps calling to him, and he starts to have very erotic dreams about a man named Song Tao, who claims he is the dragon in the painting, and that the painting isn’t actually a painting, but a prison.

Throwing water on the priceless painting is the only option to stop the dragon harassing him, but what happens when he does it, and the dragon not only doesn’t go away, but follows him home to the dorm? It is kind of hard to hide someone who is somewhere in the high six foot range, muscle bound and naked! And Forrest starts to realize maybe he isn’t into the girls for a reason. Tao’s big hairy form is definitely exciting him.

What will happen when the evil immortal witch who trapped Tao in the first place shows up and tries to get not only Tao, but Forrest as well?

I liked this story a lot. I’m a huge dragon shifter fan. Forrest did annoy me some, with his denial and avoidance, but I’m happy to say he worked through it eventually! I recommend you give this book a shot if you’re into dragon shifters. It is a fairly light, easy and quick read.
