That Promise

Rate this book
All this tragedy has shown me over and over again is that life is precious. You should go after the things you truly want and not let anything stop you. I am yours, I’ve been yours for longer than either of us have ever admitted.

Can love really triumph above all? Find out in Kate Squires’s immensely enjoyable new novel, That Promise.

The highly anticipated sequel to That Kiss finds Chloe Shepherd, now a successful Broadway dancer, happily engaged to her longtime friend and lover, Matt Masen.

But the path to love is never easy, and Chloe and Matt soon find themselves fighting over everything from Matt’s desire to move to Los Angeles in order to pursue his dream job, to a Russian male dancer’s apparent obsession with Chloe.

Determined to save their relationship, the couple takes a trip to LA in an attempt to see if it’s really a place they could call home. It’s there that the fire between them is rekindled, and plans are soon underway to move the wedding forward.

Their troubles aren’t over yet, however, as Matt’s ex-girlfriend shows up with a bombshell secret—and Chloe’s naiveté lures her into a life-threatening situation.

Reviewed on behalf of 3 Degrees of Fiction book blog.
That Promise starts up pretty much where That Kiss ended. Though it does take a while until the shock ending of book one is revealed. Let's just say that this played out exactly how I thought it would. Horrible woman!!
Once again Chloe and Matt's relationship has many obstacles thrown in its way. But there is no way I could have even predicted Maxim's storyline playing out like it did. He was all up in Chloe's face to begin with and then he seemed to taper off a bit. Then what happened towards the end of the book shocked me, but very much proved what a strong woman Chloe is.
Once again Chloe's Gram stole every scene she happened to be in. What a firecracker!! Then add in Drew - he is what I call a true friend. Chloe has been very lucky to have him in her life.
Loved the epilogue in this book, I thought it ended the story wonderfully.

That Promise
Kate Squires

We have to start off by saying I loved this book more then the 1st…
Still not our normal read but so many twists and turns we loved it….

Continuation from book 2

Once again Chloe and Matt have so many ups and down but a lot more twists…..
Kendall hasn’t been on the scene for a while and we thought she was gone but no Kendall is back!!! And full of vengeance and wants Matt back on what better way to get him back then to have his baby.
Is Matt Jack’s dad??
During this book we also have a kidnapping and a sex slave sale going down, who gets kidnapped and is truing to get sold???
That you will have to read to find out….

Chloe and Matt’ s love for each other is better then ever more so when the.plan to.have a fresh start in another state, but Is Love strong enough to go through the trial and tribulations that they face?
Can they have the happy ending Chloe has dreamed about?

This was a great book and we love when you don’t see twists coming and some of these twists was a wowzer!!

Beautifully written book by Kate once again as we said just different to what we normally read but a great book!!

Quotes from the book we loved

“Please don’t fall for his lines. You’re mine, Chlo. Always have been, always will be. I love you. Always remember that.”roller coasters make you feel like you’re out of control, all the ups and downs, but in the end, it levels out and you can look back and say you made it through unscathed.

That Promise by Kate Squires begins just after That Kiss ended. All the main characters that I grew to love in That Kiss return in the second installment of this series. We are also introduced to a new male dancer character, Maxim, who seems to have the attention of every female dancer at the theater.

In true Matt and Chloe fashion, their relationship is anything by smooth sailing. Curve ball after curve ball gets thrown at them again in this book, from having to make a decision about moving to California to an obsessive co - worker. Matt and Chloe seem to be arguing constantly. Is their love strong enough to get them through?

Once again, Kate Squires writing entrapped me from the very beginning of the book. My connection to the characters was strong, but they were still vivid in my mind after reading That Kiss. One twist was predictable - but it was set up at the end of the first book. Another twist blew my mind! I figured there was something about the person involved, but had NO IDEA of exactly what was going to happen there.

If you have read That Kiss, you definitely need to read That Promise and continue Matt and Chloe's story. You won't be disappointed. I know I wasn't!

The 2nd book to Chloe & Matt's story shows you relationships aren't easy, but it can be worth it to get to the finish line together. They go through some more drama that test their love for each other. After fighting & making up they somehow always find their way back to each other through compromise & understanding. I love Chloe's bestfriend Drew, he is so funny & tells her the truth. Chloe has really grown, but still has her faults even when Kendall appears her ugly head again. Matt shows he knows Chloe better than herself sometimes & she's the one he wants when there is any doubt. Chloe's gram is so special in this story as well, everybody is going to wish they had somebody like her in their life.

Kate Squires has done it again with another well written novel. She knows how she wants her characters to sound and what her readers want to see. She is a talented, hard-working and romantic author If you like drama, love and a little chaos mixed into a book this is the series for you to check out. I would highly recommend this book and all of Kate Squires books for that matter.

I wonder what will take place for these characters in the next book if she decides to continue with it. Chloe and Matt were star-crossed lovers and will always be together. Love from childhood and into adulthood will only bring them closer together.

Loved this book. Kate did an amazing job of bringing these characters to life. I loved The Kiss (book 1) and if you read that one then this one is a must. I usually don't read book #2 right away but I didn't want to leave these characters. They are so easy to relate to. Cloe and Matt have a great love story and there is so many road blocks that get thrown in their way and its nice to see how they over come them all. Their are parts of the book that were very predictable and others I thought would turn out different but I liked how it ended up in the end. Its a great conclusion to The Kiss.

This story is continued from "That Kiss" Chlo has a big decision to make. Would you give up all of your dreams and your perfect life to follow the love of life. Decisions have to be made, and trouble abounds. There are more twists and turns in part 2. I loved the way you think you know for sure, but you don't. You may think you know where it is going but details will keep you reading. A refreshing read. Drama and Heartache? Yup, will love conquer all in this one? Read it! I did and loved it.
