Little do they know their pasts are intertwined. When they see each other, the powerful bond they share changes everything. But is love enough to fix her broken soul?
Love this book so far! Only issue I have with it is that I want the rest right now!
Impossible to put down and a flowing, easy read. An expertly laid foundation for a hit novel to continue to be built upon. The author skillfully pulls you in at the beginning before you're even aware of it. Rich, fleshed-out characters to love, hate and feel every emotion in between for. Contains elements of suspense, drama, action and mystery - something for all genre readers.
I highly recommend this book and this talented author. Kudos Mr. Balzarini. Looking forward to more quality reading from you.
I have given a three-star rating considering this is a first-draft beta read offer, and based on my knowledge as one of David's front-line beta readers with advanced information from him on how the book will evolve and of his plans to continue according to fan comments.
These opening chapters promise an intriguing book.David is asking for beta reader questions and comments from the helpful and the curious.
I’m not quite sure how I feel about this book yet, as the story is still developing. The focus on Kandace’s life is well written and tragic. I found myself sympathizing for a 8 year old girl who has taken on the responsibilities of caring for her family. This aspect really kept me going and the book ended on a really good cliffhanger. I’m interested in seeing where this story will go.
I have to know what the ending is. I can't take it. It was a really a well written story and flowed very organically. My heart was broke for the girls of the story. I mean how could they treat them so poorly. I know it happens everyday but it is hard to read about and feel their emotions. Kandace is a great narrator. She is so brave and responsible. It was a great novel!
Three young girls struggle to survive a life of hunger, need, and desperation with a mother that cares more about her next drug high than her own children's welfare. With their father gone, the girls must learn to survive on their own with very little help from family, friends, and the public service system. The girls try to survive their destructive family and cope in any way possible...but one girl can cope no longer. She finds herself on the top of a bridge, wanting to end her life...until one passerby stops and tries to help her. However, this passerby is no ordinary person and will impact her life in ways she could never fathom.
A great book! I loved the history of the girls, their challenges, and survival. I would definitely recommend. I received the e-book from the author through the LibraryThing website's Early Reviewer/Member Giveaway in exchange for an honest review.
the passerby Part 1 by David Balzarini Goodreads Author
Roderick Coram is driving across the bridge, on his day off work, sees a woman climbing up and fears she is about to jump. The plot then thickens with three young children and their home life, which is far from normal. The journey they all seem to be on is uncertain, filled with fear and hunger. The author is very descriptive of the characters, keeps you turning pages. Once you start reading you can not put it down till finished. I'm eager to continue with part 2. This is an extraordinary read.
I received this ebook from Member Giveaway group in order to give an honest review. Thank you!
Starting my review with the cover, i think it suits the story and intrigues the reader without knowing the details, i'm glad the cover is not fully dark and pessimistic. The book is very well developed and well written, the story is tragically sad and interesting at the same time. I could not predict the ending! Its a story of a side story.
The Passerby Part 2 is even more intriguing than part 1. A real page turner. I can hardly wait for the next installment. The writing is addictive. I want to thank the author for sending me his pre-publication novel for review. I am truly enjoying this read. The author is creative and very well written. I definitely recommend his work.
Part 1 is very descriptive and well written. It does end on a cliff hanger and with the story line going between the 8 yr. old child and switching to the lady on the bridge, is definitely a thriller in the making. There are so many possibilities that I am anxious to see where David takes it. Very talented author. Thanks,
I really enjoyed reading this book. Whenever a book makes me feel sad, angry and relieved at the same time it means it's a great one! I couldn't put this book down and I am now waiting for the final part. Great cliffhanger. Super sad and heartbreaking story but with an optimistic side to it.
