Now that I have returned home from my vacation and the novel had time to sit in my mind and marinade, I have decided to give this book a 1. Sorry not sorry!!
I have absolutely no clue what happened and I read this a week ago. The only reason I read it was because it was free on KOBO but there's a reason it's free and it's not a good reason. I can exactly remember what happened in all the Crossfire novels and that was 2 months ago when I read it. New adult has this one phrase that I hate and it is used quite often and it is when things get a little steamy the girl says the following "he grabs my sex"..first of all sex is the act. If you look up the definition of sex it clearly states the following - sexual activity, including speciffically sexual intercourse or either of the 2 main categories (male or female) which humans and most other living species are divided on the basis of their reproductive organs ... ATTENTION NEW ADULT AUTHORS!!!!! Sex is not an actual part of the female anatomy!! Please use an appropriate word and if you are not comfortable using a word that is used in today's society like vagina or pussy , maybe you should not be writing this type of book.
What I can remember about this is there is this girl called Elizabeth and a guy called Adam. She proposes that they start having casual sex and she has a lot of preppy useless family drama and some serious disturbing history with a film director. It's not romantic to write about a 15 year old girl who has sex with a 30 something male. He should be arrested this is a felony. Why is this in new adult? Besides for that , I cannot really remember anything else that happened in this. I will not continue with the series at all thank you!

Oh my goodness! Sex sex and more sex! If you’re reading this for the erotic parts of the book, you will not be disappointed. Exactly when you would want in a steamy erotic romance novel! There are elements of mystery (sort of), love and most importantly.... steamy steamy sex!! Really liked the characters and even the supporting characters.

This was a great story. It was well written and fast paced. The chemistry between the characters was sizzling hot. This book has everything you need to keep you turning pages hot sexy men, steamy scenes and some conflict thrown in. I can't wait for what this author writes next.

DNF. I really liked the idea of this book. Loved Adam. But Elizabeth just got on my nerve. I’ll shelve for now maybe I’ll come back another day.

It was hot and steamy, that's for sure. I just don't understand why only a couple of chapters were published as a book, instead of a full story.

What can I say? This was a great start to the series and way to draw in the readers with the ending like that. I will admit I was slightly disappointed. I was hoping for an epilogue perhaps six months’ down the track but maybe we will see more of these two characters in the books to come? Either way, the story was beautiful.
Dr Elizabeth Filler is living a life of solitude in a small town. She is working in her dream job at the local university and has a small apartment with her best-friend overlooking the beach. But she is lonely. Her best-friend has relocated to London for six months for work and her sister has moved away to college. So, she finds herself sitting alone in the bar below her apartment, when Adam Calloway walks into the bar and sits next to her. The attraction is instantaneous both physically and sexually but Elizabeth is only interested in a fling. She doesn’t do relationships.
Adam Calloway has returned to Calhoun Beach for a two-week vacation. He is working for Mercedes head-office in Germany as an Engineer and living his dream job. Walking into Seychelles restaurant to catch up with his friend, he finds himself instantly drawn to Elizabeth Filler. After asking her to dinner for the following evening, he accepts her proposal for a no-strings attached sex-cation.
Elizabeth has conflicting emotions the more she falls for Adam. A broken past with parents who never gave her love, loyalty or compassion, she doesn’t recognize the signs that she is falling in love. Elizabeth finds it hard to trust but the more time they spend together, the more she realizes Adam is more than qualified to satisfy ALL her needs. Their connection is instinctual and intuitive and she finds herself slowly revealing her past. Although, her first instinct is to push him away, Adam’s loving and protective nature, finally wins out.
Elizabeth realizes she has been hiding from the life she could lead. The mistakes of her past have weighed heavily on her, and with Adam’s love and patience, she finally finds the strength to move forward… to trust and to love.
I loved how similar Elizabeth and Adam’s lives are and how they have found the other half to their heart. Whilst Adam sees everything black and white and Elizabeth sees all in the grey, they work. They are two beautiful souls that journey together to become one. This is a wonderful short romantic story that will pull on your heart strings that only a good romance can.

Elizabeth is hiding. Living a drama free life in a quiet town, doing her dream job. Until sitting in the restaurant inside her apartment building she meets Adam. Something about him instantly draws her to him and he seems as interested in her. There first date is mind blowing and they can't wait to see each other again. He's only on holiday for 2 weeks that will ok for her, she doesn't want a relationship but she has needs which he is more than qualified for. Elizabeth wants to keep her past hidden from everyone but bit by bit she ends up telling him everything. She tries to push him away but he doesn't want to go and ends up helping to protect her.
I love this book, I read it in less than 1 day. There is an emotional and sexual connection between the characters which I loved. I was slightly disappointed at the end. Not because of the book but because I enjoyed it so much I had to leave the characters behind.

Self confessed commitment phone Elizabeth meets Adam in a bar. He is only there for two weeks and so they decide to hook up on a no strings basis
The problem is that they both have secrets and are both drawn to each other... can they abide by the one rule they set to keep it simple?
It's a hard book to rate as it's so short, even though there are others in this series. For me, it was written well but it was all a bit instant and deep without building. So you were left thinking about what makes them like they are? I suppose it's so you read on ... which I will

I have to be honest and say that I generally like more romance / plot to a story line than this short story gives. This story is all about the sex. But the author's writing style is excellent. She completely drew me in and the sexual tension she creates in such a short amount of time is truly amazing. And she did it in a way that was not outrageously vulgar like several other stories I've read. Lizzy and Adam are both intriguing characters. Well done!

OMG I couldn't read this story fast enough!! l love the author's writing style...smooth and descriptive language. Excellent character development. You really get drawn into the story and feel like you're a character in the book. The relationship is hot right away for the two main characters way before they even get it on! The buildup of sexual anticipation and teasing made me tingle all over! :) Will be reading, I mean devouring, book 2 tonight!!

Elizabeth is in hiding. Not physically but emotionally. She has been betrayed by those who should have cared and only wants to live her life away from the glare of notoriety. She trusts no one-that is until she meets Adam who draws her to him emotionally even as she tries to back away. They know each other on a visceral basis. A beautiful story of two hearts becoming one.

I enjoyed it very much, but ended too soon. so I will buy the collection to see what happens. or go into another story. but it was good! I kept all my attention to the people. very nice.

This is a good book, but it should have been published along with the other volumes I think, because this was too short, so I couldn't really conect to it.
An insta-love/attraction book, girl meets boy, they have sex and feel a conection, end of the first volume.

This is one book where the title was made for the story. Alexis Anne definitely knows how to tease her readers. Very sexy read that will have you buying volume 2 immediately!
