Fourth Episode in the BBW/Werewolf Series - First Book Free! Harper Bailey and Levi Harris are on the run from the vampire mafia, who will do anything to get back the files they’ve stolen. After the first attempt to read the files fails, Levi and Harper run the gauntlet to reach someone who can help. But with the vampire hot on their heels, their chances of success—and survival—are quickly shrinking.
Anyone Levi loves is at risk of being used as leverage to get him to do some vampire’s dirty work, so he swore long ago that he would always live the life of a lone wolf. Now he’s far from happy with the thoughts that he’s having about the curvy Harper Bailey, thoughts rooted in his most basic werewolf instincts.
Harper thought she was coming along on an adventure to spice up her boring life. But she soon finds herself falling hard for the ruggedly handsome bad boy biker Levi even as she tries to save him from himself.
I write steamy paranormal romance, particularly vampire and shifter/werewolf right now. Check out my two free series starters, Life Blood and Taken. :)
I most often compare my work to Twilight meets 50 Shades (my vampires in Cora's Choice are more dark and angsty, and the S/M elements grow more and more pronounced as the series progresses), but the names that readers most often mention are Anne Rice and Sherrilyn Kenyon.
In Cora's Choice, Cora's Bond, and the following series, I wanted to show a heroine's journey from ordinary girl to someone super tough. This is a journey of months--years, even. So many stories start with an Anita Blake-type, able to kick ass and take names from the first we meet her. I thought it would be awesome and really interesting to show someone becoming that person through tiny changes that build on each other.
My world puts a different twist on everything from vampires (they're alive) to elves (aliens) and demons (interdimensional djinn). The Alpha's Captive series features a kickass heroine out of the gate, while Cora's Choice series--followed my Cora's Bond and others--has my "big" character story line.
Yes, there's an HEA. :) But the story keeps going on!
My Thoughts - 3 out of 5 Unicorns - I liked it!!! ***Received a copy of the ebook in exchange for an honest review
The cover is beautiful of course :) both wolf and man ;)
This is a serial novella series that has 7 parts or books to it. This is book 4.
Well, this one did not have as much action as the others did, V.M. spoiled me into expecting it…lol! It is still very enjoyable, and you definitely learn more about Levi. There of course is still all sorts of sexual tension.
If you’ve read the rest of the series, you can’t stop now :) I recommend this to shifter lovers :) Off to read the next part :)
Since this is a serial and I more or less read all the books in one sitting, I'm reviewing these books as one. All the books follow wolf shifter Levi and Harper, his voluntary hostage. Levi never really kidnapped Harper, she kidnaps herself. He steals her car and seeing as much as she loves the car, she jumps into the car while Levi is driving away.
The characters have good chemistry and hit it off from the very first page. Both Harper and Levi are a little dense as none of them ever consider their phones having GPS that can be tracked. It's something I saw from the very beginning, and it annoyed me that it never dawned on them even though the bad guys kept finding them time and time again. Seriously, how stupid can these characters get? I kept shaking my Kindle in hopes to shake some sense into these characters. True fax.
Levi and Harper kept putting themselves in these crazy situations that made me want to smack them upside their heads. There is a lot of drama and even more action in this story. At times it gets to be a little too much. It's that “too much” that pushes the books into annoying at times. An engaging story, though I'm not completely happy with how the story ended. It feels unresolved. Open ended.
So far, I've enjoyed #4 the most. Both Harper and Levi are lowering their emotional shields. They're crazy about each other, but neither one is quite ready to admit it...least of all to themselves.
I got to say that the mini cooper is hilarious. I'm just imagining this big wolf dude crammed inside with a spitfire of a girl by his side. The vision had me giggling.
I'm really looking forward to Beane coming into the story, and I can't wait for Harper and Levi to give into their innate desires.
Staying alive Levi and Harper have been able to stay alive and keep out of the reach of the Vampire he stole from. But how does he keep finding them. Then Levi thinks to look into the Pommel of the knife and finds out how. The reader doesn't work so now they have to make their way to Beane to get his help to read the card. But getting there will be difficult. Well written and very enjoyable to read.
I enjoyed what there was of the book. I just hate it when you have to buy 5 or 6 books to find out the ending. This is one book that I will not find out how it ends
This one took me the longest to read through. There wasn't a whole lot of action, but it did offer more information on both Levi and Harper. Which I did hope for in this book and commented on my review of the last book. I almost feel like the ending will be predictable but I always hope for the best. The characters were not as aggravating in this book as they were in the last one, and I believe we are past that point in the next couple of books. Although I'm not so sure how Levi's tech friend will be, he might strike a few nerves.
Levi realized he could not get the information off the SD card with the reader so he has to go to Chay's layer now and he's not happy about it. He just can't figure out how they keep finding his location he's being very cautious with every move he make and it fin all hits him he must being carring a tracker some where. Now he has to find the tracker before they find them again. Harper is finding out a lot about her wolf an and she can't help but like him even more than she already does. She's trying to keep her emotions locked up tight so she does not get hurt in the long run. All Harper wants to do is make sure he's safe before they part ways after this is all over.

There is a reason why V.M. Black is one of my favorite authors. She writes awesome BBW/Werwolf Romance stories that are addictive, enthralling, and supremely well-written. They are steamy, sexy, and thought provoking and stay with you long after you finish reading them. The characters are great with real flaws, real strengths, and real passion. She grabs hold of you at the captivating cover and keeps you imprisoned until the very end. The Alpha's Captive series is exciting, heartbreaking, and sexy with some twists and turns you didn't see coming.
They have traveled across the state in a stolen Mini Cooper, getting closer and closer to Levi's IT guy. Having eluded a police checkpoint, a police dog on their scent, and a police chase, they finally get to the Black Mesa facility and Harper meets Chey (IT guy) for the first time. You see snippets of what's going on with Levi and Harper from Chey's point of view in Panther Quest.
what these two go thru just to make it to safety. keep telling each other that they can't be any thing of there relationship. yea whatever gets you going
