“Who do you think you’re talking to here?” He interrupted me again. “Why are you trying to put this to me like it’s a normal thing when we both know it’s not? If you were a normal person taking a normal boyfriend home to a normal town to meet your normal parents, then it would be normal. As it is, this is just insane.”
Yep, Bridunna and my boyfriend, the two topics guaranteed to cause friction in, what was at all other times, the best of friendships.
Grace and Alex have been best friends for years, but now she’s returning to the small town repressed nightmares are made of with her boyfriend, and things between her and Alex are about to fall apart. It used to be them against the world, but years have passed and things aren't quite as simple anymore. Sequel to So Much to Learn.
Whilst digging through her childhood scribblings, Jessie L. Star discovered a thrilling saga by her six year old self entitled 'Jessie has Lost her Sock'. This sweeping epic spanned all four corners of her childhood house in outback South Australia as the sock was hunted down (spoiler, it was in Jessie's bed all along). Many years later and the urge to write is still going strong, although lost socks have been replaced with a raft of characters destined to snark and banter at each other until, ultimately, falling in love.
Jessie studied Business at Uni where she primarily learnt that writing and talking were very much her thing and that dealing with numbers was very much not.
Grace returns to her hometown of Brudunna with her boyfriend Oliver and her best friend Alex in tow. Shunned by her former friends and gossiped about by the rest of the town, Grace is determined to shred her bad girl image of the past and show the town folk just how much she's changed. Unfortunately, the people of Bridunna are hard pressed to forget her jaded past and Alex is doing his best to play out his bad boy persona and prove to Grace that she's perfect just the way she is. But trying to be someone she's not just might cost Grace her boyfriend, her bet friend and her peace of mind.
This book was a bit drawn out...taking way too long to reveal what happened in Grace in Alex's past but it was an ok read overall.
Love, love, love this author!! She is a must buy for for me and this book was no exception. I loved the characters, especially the bratty little 14 year old, and there was a great storyline too!
