This novel is a fast read I read it on a day, and I am a slow reader, it kept me interesting on the story from back to back.

The idea , of a Fantasy world (Wallash) and Earth merging together it’s sounds interesting, but the real whole that you get to explore every detail of this new world that Miles, and you as a reader just enter, and submerge in the history is amazing. There’s only one thing that I had trouble with, when reading all the history of Wallash, I felt that lots of information was thrown at me so fast, but then thinking about that it has to be done to understand future events on the novel.

Main Twist, at the beginning it starts the novel with the mood of a College drama. It starts with Miles beginning as a freshman and dealing with common life problems. But then the big twist comes, and you really don’t see it coming. His roommate and her sister (Bontrix), tells him that he is a Gear Guide, and his world just turns upside down.

The World was build with impeccable details. Everything felt real and incredible. You really got to see the world through your eyes, and see it in full color.

Characters, they felt real, as if they where real people. The fact that they are in collage, or having common problems of their own help in the engaging experience the novel has. I also felt that there personalities shine, and they where describe by them.

A Standalone? The ending close perfectly, without a cliffhanger, but it does left you as a reader with wanting more from the world. Also I felt that this story could be told in even more words, it felt short. And as I said before lots of information was thrown there so fast, that maybe it could have been a bit slower and steadier.

Overall, I did love this novel and gave it five out of five stars for a reason. I enjoyed it so much, that wish for everyone to pick it up and give it a try.

I like this book and think young readers would like to read this book. One, becuase it is a short read and two, because it hits on a little bit of college life and on the decision making process that we all face in life growing up. We all know young people have an imagination, but James Agee Jr. takes it to another level :). I love the adventure of the discovered mystery in this book. Miles Ransom is a normal young man, with a normal life that he has known for years and then one day it all changed his direction in life. Miles has to make choices that are scary to think about, but he makes them the best way he can. During this whole adventure and life changing experience, he grows from the inside out, only to find who he really is. Life is like that, it shows you who you are through the experiences you go through and how you can adapt to the changes. Some take it well, like Miles did in the end, and some don't. I would like to say his name goes along with the journey he goes on, which is responding to the obstacles that occurred in his life optimistically. It also is great to have someone to help you along that winding journey and Bontrix in the story was just that. :)

So I'm mainly putting this on the audiobook and the narrators voice etc.

The narrator was so good in this audiobook. At first I thought it was read fast but I sped it up to 1.25 so that I could get used to it.

I wanted to finish this book sooner but I guess it doesn't matter. I've finished Jim and now Bontrix. I'm now going to read Everything, Everything and Under The Mountains: West Virginia Weird.

I totally recommend this book as the storyline was written so well and it's just amazing.

This story starts a little slow for me but it does introduce us to Miles rather well. The story is fun, fast and adventurous, full of cool steampunk inventions. Chris Rice does a great job with the narration.

I have several complaints about this book. The first one is that it had some typos. The story is very well written and since this a indie book, the author may not had the time nor money to hire and editor, but considering that the typos were minimum, it's not exactly a problem.

The second complaint was the the story is way too short. The author has enough material to expand this book with more character development. After all, every single character in this book was interesting.

Third complaint, there is no sequel. This story has so much potential to become a book series. Each book can be about Miles' adventures in the different worlds as a Gear Guide. This story just begs for more.

Overall rating? This story is awesome. It is a fast read, filled with adventure and it is not an overused formula. It was my first steampunk book and I really enjoyed it. James Agee Jr deserves more recognition.
