Fallen into Darkness
The only person she had in her world. The only person she has ever loved and that one person that saved her had gone, left her all alone in this dark world she lived in.
Sophie struggled with a dark past, suffered pain, anger and loneliness everyday until he took her away from it all. Her older brother Nick worked hard to get her away from that horrible life. He chose to take a dive of a dangerous life of illegal fights and street racing to save his sister from all that darkness she suffered for 18 years. She was the only person he cared about and would do anything for. Sophie found a small amount of peace when moving in with her brother and her life stopped spiralling out of control until the day he left 2 years after he saved her, he left her for good. She was alone with the heartache of losing the one person that kept her going. Her life started to spiral out of control, her care for safety was gone. She was hurt alone and reckless.
He was Nick’s best friend and partner in crime and had made a pack with him a year ago if anything happened to Nick he would always take care of Sophie but could he bring her back out of this dark hole she was spiralling down. Could the love he has for her be enough to save her like Nick once did?

Ok while I went with a 4, I really lean more to a 3.5 with this one, while I typically like these types of darker books I had a little trouble relating to Sophie's character and even Nate's. While I will read the next In this series to see what happens, I will say that this to be read again list.
I will admit that I actually had to put this book down and then go back to it. parts of it were very intense, I don't want to give away any spoilers so you will just have to read it yourself to find out what I'm talking about.

Not my usual type of read. It is raw with strong language and some (genuinely alluring) sex scenes.
Nicola Treherne writes very well and creates strong if angry characters whose lives are tough in the tough world of Detroit.
I liked very much how the story is written by two characters, Sophie and Nate. I would imagine ladies who like alpha males will also like Nate a lot. I liked Sophie and her honesty and sexual desire.
For fans of 'Darkness' Fallen Into Darkness is not to be missed.

Sophie is trying to stay out of the darkness. We slowly learn of the abuse she suffered as a child and Nick, a brother she didn't know existed until 2 years ago, found and saved her from the abuse. She struggles with nightmares and staying out of the darkness where she hides to avoid the pain. Then the unthinkable happens and Nick is gone, can Sophie survive without him? Nate has been friends with Nick for years and loves Sophie, he promised to take care of Sophie if anything ever happened to Nick, will she let him?
There is a lot of depth to this story with many twists and turns I didn't see coming. I want Sophie to rise above everything that has happened to her and survive. I won't know until part 2. I will say that I struggled at times to read the story since there were missing words/wrong words and I would have to stop and figure out what was really being said. Great concept and characters just needs some better editing to make it easier to enjoy.

I received a copy of this book in return for an honest review.
I enjoyed this book however I do not think it has quite fulfilled its potential. I felt as though I was straight into an already established storyline as if I has missed the opening couple of paragraphs. I would have like more character development into all the characters. The background to Scorpio, the detail of how nick saved Sophie, how nick met Nate. I feel so much could be done with the material.
That being said the story line was good and did keep me hooked and I will definitely read the next one as there is a huge cliffhanger at the end.
There were also a number of spelling and grammatical errors which can be edited out. Although these were obvious it did not stop my enjoyment of the story.

'Fallen Into Darkness' overall is a good story. The storyline is written with the feeling of pure rawness. The life that the characters lived was intense. The characters were true to form. I could understand how broken Sophie is and what led to the circumstances and actions that ensued. I don't like the way it ended. Mainly for the fact that I do not like cliffhangers. The reason I only gave 3 stars was due to the lack of editing this book needs. Bad grammar and lack of punctuation is a big turn off for me. But I stuck it out and I'm glad I did. This is a good intense read. I want to read the next book because I would love to see how it plays out.

I received it in exchange of an honest review and i loved it!!!! For a debut novel i was impressed! Well written with an interesting story that is thrilling and heart breaking, a perfect balance of twists and heat, i enjoyed every little bit! Characters that are strong, loyal, passionate and full of heat despite their broken past and background! This book has all the components of a good contemporary romance!!!! I really can't wait to read the next one and see what happens!!! Two thumbs up!!!!

Very emotional read. This book is very raw with its emotional impact. The abuse suffered in childhood has really affected Sophie. Nick takes her away from all of that. He saves her, but he is gone too soon. Nate tries to take care of her, but it is unsure if she will let him. The pull of the darkness is so great...
