4.5 stars - Memphis by Alexandria House was such a good read—I really enjoyed this one! Getting a deeper look into Lilith’s sister Memphis and her story was everything I didn’t know I needed. Alexandria House continues to build this world in a way that keeps you invested in every character.
First off, Memphis and Bo? Yeah… I was locked in. I loved Memphis as the FMC—she was strong, guarded, and carried her past in a way that felt real and layered. And Bo? Whew. That man was gone for her from the beginning—deep love, obsession, and all. While Memphis started off hating him (and honestly, rightfully so given their complicated history), watching that shift over time was so satisfying.
Their backstory really added emotional weight to the story. The whole “he hurt her but it was actually to protect her” reveal gave their relationship more depth and made their reconnection hit even harder. I’m always here for an enemies-to-lovers vibe, and while this leaned more one-sided at first, the tension and emotional payoff were definitely there.
One thing I really appreciated was the dual timeline. Switching between past and present from both Memphis and Bo’s perspectives helped piece everything together and gave a fuller understanding of their bond. It made their love story feel earned instead of rushed.
I also loved the humor and the personalities of the supporting characters—they brought so much life to the story and balanced out some of the heavier emotional moments. Alexandria House does a great job of making her characters feel like real people you know and root for.
There was also just enough drama and a twist woven in to keep things interesting. It wasn’t overly complicated, but it definitely had me wanting to know what really happened, and I appreciated how everything unfolded toward the end.
What really stood out to me, though, was the depth of Memphis and Bo’s love. Once they got on the same page, their connection felt intense, loyal, and unbreakable. The whole twin flame/soulmate energy between them really came through as the story progressed, especially in how they showed up for each other during difficult moments.
If I had one small critique, it would be that some parts felt a bit predictable or could have been pushed even further emotionally—but honestly, it didn’t take away from how much I enjoyed the book overall.
All in all, this was a really enjoyable read, and I would definitely recommend it—especially if you’ve already read Lilith or love emotional, character-driven romances with a mix of tension, humor, and heart.
