He wanted her off his hands...
Vincent Tremayne, the reclusive "Devil Earl," has been manipulated into taking rambunctious Lydia Price as his ward. As Lord Vampire of Cornwall, Vincent has better things to do than bring out an unruly debutante.
Now he'll do anything to hold on forever
American-born Lydia Price doesn't care for the stuffy strictures of the ton, and is unimpressed with her foppish suitors. She dreams of studying with the talented but scandalous British portrait painter, Sir Thomas Lawrence. But just when it seems her dreams will come true, Lydia is plunged into Vincent's dark world and finds herself caught between the life she's known and a future she never could have imagined.

What a sweet read!
I really enjoyed this book, even more than the first.
Lydia was very sweet and I really liked how she had her priorities straight with the luggage she brought with her from America – one suitcase was for her canvases, one for books, and she had another one for her gun collection. A very interesting woman.
Vincent was wonderful, and I loved how he just couldn’t ignore his attraction to Lydia, no matter how hard he tried. The romance between these two was just wonderful to read, and I loved how there were two cupids in their midst (Miss Hobson and Angelica) trying to get these two together.
I can’t wait to read the next book with Rafael. It is going to be such fun watching this brooding and moody man fall in love, especially after reading his comments after Ian and Vincent fell in love. Seriously, I can’t wait to see him be bitten by the love bug. Oh, how the mighty will fall...
