Wanita May grew up in the fruit belt of Ontario - St.Catharines. Crazy-happy childhood, she always has had a vivid imagination and loads of energy.

The youngest of six -- four older brothers, and a sister -- taught her at a young age to be competitive in all aspects of life.

At sixteen, she began competing in athletics (track and field) and before she turned seventeen, she was representing Canada in high jump. She continued to compete, breaking Canada's JR High Jump record (1.92m - 6' 3 1/2" for those metric-ly challenged). She attented University of Toronto, and Kansas State University - winning CIAU's and becoming All-American 6x - NCAA Indoors Runner Up + more.

But you're not interested in her athletic career - unless of course you're curious to know she stands 1.70m (5'7") and has jumped 20cm over her head on more than one occassion. She's represented Canada at the World Championships, World Jrs., won Francophone Games, and loved every minute of every competition. From the grueling workouts, the crazy weights she lifted on her back, the days she thought her lungs were going to spit out of her mouth for lack of oxygen, the travelling around the world and the opportunity to read - her favourite past time.

Life continued with her husband (a distance runner from Liverpool, UK, who she met at KSU) and then their first, then second and finally third child. Their house became full of more imagination and stories.

Wanita and her husband run an online business, dealing in antiques and collectables - particularly jewelry and porcelain (one of the business' website: www.wadeincanada.com ).

After her father passed away in 2009, from a six-year battle with cancer (which she still believes he won the fight against), she began to write again. A passion she'd loved for years, but realized life was too short to keep putting it off.

Her first book, Rae of Hope - from the Chronicles of Kerrigan - will be available October 2011 by kNight Romance Publishing.

She is currently represented by Dawn Dowdle of Blue Ridge Literary Agency. Wanita is a writer of Young Adult, Fantasy Fiction and where ever else her little muses take her.

The heroine: Rae Kerrigan - Rae becomes an agent for the Privy Council. She trains with a woman who knew her mother.

The Hero(es): Devon - Works for the Privy Council still. Devon has always been a rule follower and puts the Privy Council ahead of everything, even Rae. He often does things or keeps things from Rae.
Luke New guy that Rae meets. He doesn’t have a Tatù.

The Story: Rae seems a bit odd to me. For someone who has been attacked and betrayed as much as her, she has always seemed a bit to laissez faire about the fact that she wasn’t sure whether or not she could trust Devon. I kept thinking she was Scarlett O’Hara “I'll think about that tomorrow. After all, tomorrow is another day”, every time she wondered if she could trust him, but decided to not think about it now.

I liked this book. There have been times that I have liked Devon and times that I have thought he was not good enough for Rae. This book solidifies that fact. I don’t know who the Hero is. I like the fact that in this series, it is always up in the air whether someone is a good guy or a bad guy. This book opens up the fact that what you think is bad might not be all bad and what you think is good may not be all good.

Rae finding a backbone is a promising development. The last 3 chapters seemed forced and too much was going on. Kraigan attacking Rae again made me roll my eyes. I'm glad Julian and Rae talked towards the end. I'm not pleased Rae has to work with Devon in the next book. I don't like him. His character is weak. I don't care how good looking he is written either.
Rae's mom may be alive? Interesting!

Still not terribly deep, the writing and storylines are still basic but the characters keep me coming back. Guess I’m a slave to finishing what I started.

This read like a novella or almost even a teaser promo for the next book. There was sort of a plot - but the book ended very abruptly without any conclusion whatsoever, and nothing really happened throughout the book to justify it being cut so short.

This is the third book of the Chronicles of Kerrigan series and I was really looking forward to reading it. I will be honestly straight forward; this book didn't meet my personal expectations and hopes that I had for this book set by the first two books. With that being said, this book was not terrible and it still continued the exciting storyline.

This book loses a star because there were more than three typos that I've noticed and there were a few storyline discrepancies. The two that I remember made me a bit confused about what I read in the other two books; it was honestly a little disappointing. Another reason for the lost star is that the flow of the book wasn't the same as the other two. I found the beginning of the book a little slower than usual and the story seemed to move slowly as well. I appreciated the little mysteries that were developing throughout the book though.

The book did receive four stars though, because W.J. May did an excellent job of keeping the storyline interesting by adding twists and mysteries that keeps the reader thinking. As slow as the flow seemed, the book was still a page turner and made me want to know what was going to happen. The action was just as good as the other books, which I'm pleased about. The emotions behind the post twists and just in general, I really liked. I became emotionally invested in the book while reading. The book ended on an excellent cliff hanger and I look forward to reading the next book.

My personal note: I like Rae and her character. I can't not like her character and I completely understand all of the emotional hardship that she has and is still going through. I just feel that she could be stronger and have a little more confidence in finding her sense of self. With that being said though, I look forward to seeing her character continue to develop. I can't wait to see the character that she becomes.

All in all, this still a good book and a stepping stone in the series. This is only the third book and there's 7 more books to go. The story has not gone bad because it's only getting better. I do recommend the series, it's an excellent page turner.

I had the ebook and I also listened to some on Audible. Love that the Boxset had the first 6 books of this series. There is a total of 12 in this series and then 6 or so more with a spin-off series; which is really still this series because it’s the same main character, so there’s 12 more books to read to get the full story. Then more spin-off books with some other characters too. The narrator was good; her accent was a little weird at times, but overall she did a great job. I enjoyed the listen. It was nice having the ebook too though.

Overall, the series was entertaining and fun! Love all the powers the characters have! Some really cool tatùs (magical tattoos); healing, fire, electricity, super speed, plus so many more! Loved all of that! There’s also a super sweet romance! This is mostly YA, but there are some light adult elements in these first 6 books. I read all 6 books in a row, and I didn’t get sick of the story, so that a major plus. The story doesn’t start out very original, but it has enough unique elements throughout the series to make the book its own story. It can get a little repetitive and there were times the characters should’ve know something they found out in a previous book, but didn’t. Still overall, lots of interesting ideas going on. I’ll do a brief review of each of the books. There will probably be spoilers in this review for the previous book.

Rae joins the council in this one and is trying to still finish school. She’s having a tough time after her half brother tried to kill her; plus, there’s more and more secrets coming out about her parents. Devon is not a cool guy in this one; he’s not there for Rae when she needs him most. Rae is training with the council and goes on some fun missions. Enjoy that action! It’s cool to learn about all the different powers out there and how Rae uses them to her advantage. She’s growing and becoming more of her own person.

It gets better and better with Rae in this continuing series and I am reading like a banshee to find out what happens next. First it is Langford and finding out her name carries a heavy weight and stares of the tatued public because of dear dead Dad and Mom, then she makes friends who think she is cool despite the legacy and she gets a boyfriend, but finds out she has a half brother and he hates her, telling her she is a disappointment to Dad.
In this book, she meets a new friend who is not tatued, but works for the opposite side. He knows all about her and doesn't care, liking her for who she is, but also shares information about her family that the PC does not know about. I felt bad for her because the PC uses her, but doesn't tell her anything about her family and when someone comes after her, it's "we should have told you" after it happened or they were unsure of it. The only ones she has in her corner besides the new friend is Molly and Julian. Devon is hot and cold towards her and lives by the council law staying far away as possible. The council is always in denial when she questions things, but all she wants is knowledge of her heritage, anything she can find to fill in blanks and be normal without the Kerrigan name hanging over her. She wants to stop her father's ideas from becoming reality, but the council has it "under control". How is that under control if people keeping coming after her? I cannot blame her for taking matters into her own hands and secrecy when the council doesn't want to help and sweeps it under the rug. I am beginning to see Simon's and the XK's point of view with the PC because they do not want to help Rae by looking into her questions. Everything letter for letter with them, but who says there cannot be some wiggle room?

I still enjoyed the writing style of May. You can read more details on my thoughts about it from my review of her first book called Rae of Hope. I won’t be repeating certain things and you can go read them there if you haven’t done so already. Just a note…this book also has a few spelling and grammar errors that need to be attended to. I could just be picking them up due to being a proofreader. The normal reader might not even notice them. Due to me reading the book as a carry on from the first and second one, I was immediately committed to the story as I wanted to know what’s happening. More and more secrets and details are being revealed the more I read.

As with the previous two books in the series, I enjoyed the storyline. May has mystery, intrigue, romance and action all mixed together in the book and it keeps me glued to the book. Just like the previous two books, the story kept me guessing most of the time. There were times that I predicted certain outcomes but mostly I was kept on the edge of my chair. If you would like to read more about my thoughts on the world that the author created, then you can read my previous two posts on this series.

This book is the third book in the The Chronicles of Kerrigan series continuing the storyline with more secrets revealed, action, twists and engaging characters. Note: it is best to read the series from the beginning.
Rae continues to hone her skills, learn more about herself and her family. She still struggles with her insecurities but continues to gain more confidence in herself and what she wants out of life. New characters are introduced addicting interest. I enjoy Rae’s internal dialogue and her interaction with the other characters. She still has a lot of growing up to do but that is to be expected, as she is still a teenager.
I did notices a few inconsistencies in the storyline but they really did not deter me much from the enjoyment of the book. I look forward to the next instalment in the series.

This third book in the Chronicles of Kerrigan was again another fascinating Paranormal story. With new characters introduced and lots of twists and turns, this story just keeps getting better and better and leaves you wanting more. OMG Kraigan.....who would have guessed.
I have to admit at times I find Rae to be a bit childish in her behavior then I remember her age and it puts everything into perspective.
I listened to the audio version of this book and again I loved it. I just love how the narrator is able to introduce a different voice for the different characters keeping everyone distinct.
This was another great story. I loved it.

Fun engaging storyline reminiscent of Harry Potter magic. However you don't get to hear of the actual classes and information she learns at the pseudo school of music and this was the biggest disappointment. You can't help but compare it to Harry Potter with questions left at how exactly their society is run.

#spoiler#
I'm not exactly sure if it was really explained by the people with powers could not procreate. Seems impossible to avoid really

Easy story to lose yourself in, but some basic mistakes by the author (or editor).

It's a book based in England yet the refer to mobile phones as cell phones.

Have called the Prince of Wales the Queen's grandson.

Forgetting that a major part of the protagonists family history was already known to her. (The bit about her grandparents was revealed when she read the journal, not when Carter told her later).

This book has created more drama and adventure..how much more can they add to poor Rae. As if finding herself wasn't enough. She has to endure heartbreak 💔. She has so much to deal with , but she can't tell her best friend Molly. A new guy has entered the picture, the trainer knew her mom, more mysteries about her parents...plus an enemy has been set free.

Even after all the fights, romance drama, and friend drama, the ending is what got me shocked 😲. Looking forward to reading next one 😀

Delightful continuation of the series. Rae faces plenty of issues and action as she moves through the morass that is Guilder, the Privy Council, and the tatù world. I look forward to what is to come in the following stories.

Action-packed. Easy-to-read. Entertaining. Scary. Tragic. Twisted. Unpredictable. Wonderful characters.

Part of anthologies, sets, and collections.

Lots of new items of interest in this episode : Rae discovers that she has a second, full-blown talent that she has not knowingly used previously, and Julian's visions cause some concern. Uncle Argyle sends Rae a memento from her mother, and Rae finds clues to her parents' past.
