Please Help Me!: A short story based on true events
Sometimes we become what we dream. Sometimes we become what we hate.In between the two extremes lie circumstances and the ever-changing colours of these circumstances.
All may be fair in love and war,but there are certain limits that should not be crossed. For nine year old Aqsa, these limits are blurred.
Orphaned whilst still young by an American drone attack, she grows up with hatred of the enemy and a desire to get even-or sometimes just to have enough to eat.Living with her 20 year old brother Asim, a man radicalised with the fire of vengeance,she wants to do the only thing she really craves-reading books.
Then one day, seeing the blood and gore around her, she becomes embroiled in a conspiracy far bigger than her nine year old shoulders can bear.Culminating in her soul's call to what is right and wrong,she must make the hardest decision she has ever faced.With dramatic consequences.Her dreams and hopes and aspirations all get tested by the split second efficacy of the human spirit to decide what course of history to pursue.
