I love how Kira stood up for herself in this book but it seems to me that she really didn't learn anything from her previous experiences. This book was a bit predictable but great nonetheless. The drama was turned on high and was non stop! I loved it! The author left us with many unanswered questions but I'm okay with that since I know she will most likely clear everything up in her next installment of this series. My main complaint about part 1, "Wifey" was that the narration and dialogue was extremely hood and ghetto and I have to say, she made a big improvement in this book although she outdid herself with the typos in this time! My gosh, there we so many of them! Something about this novel is different then the other urban fictions I've had the pleasure to read and I would definitely recommend this book because of that and because of it's fast paced and super entertaining nature.

This is the second book in the Wifey series, and I liked it just as much as I did the first. Once again there is alot of drama and that kept it interesting until the end. Kira is a trip and she is continually scheming on someone, but karma always comes back at you somehow when you least expect it. Ricky is locked up and still being shady, just like before. The ending was somewhat of a surprise and I couldn't wait to get started on the next book, Life After Wifey.

One pager- Book Review
The name of the book that I read is called I’m still Wifey by Kiki Swinson. This book is about a girl named Kira who is dealing with her soon to be divorced husband Ricky who is in jail. While she’s trying to get him to sign the divorce papers, she’s trying to get revenge on her ex boyfriend who stole all of her money. Mean while, she’s pregnant with Ricky’s baby but nobody but her favorite cousin Nikki knows. As Kira is trying to payback everyone who caused her trouble, she fails to realize that karma goes around and comes back two times harder.
This book leaves you on the edge of your seat and I promise it will leave you wanting more. This book revolves around violence, drugs, and relationships, but I’m sure you will be able to relate to the themes or the characters. Each character has their own unique characteristics. Roe example, the main character is Kira. She is very humble, but if you get on her bad side, she’s like a 5.0 earthquake. “I hit her with hand because I wanted to leave the imprint of the huge rocks in my wedding ring on her face. This ended up becoming a beautiful sight as I watched the blood pour down her face.” (12) This is an example of Kira’s bad side. Through out the book, Kiki Swinson show’s how Kira changes her personality and it leaves the reader with a whole lot of questions.
Kiki Swinson also uses a lot of descriptive details and imagery in this book. This attracts the reader and it attracted me. It makes you feel that you’re right there in the scene. You can se everything in your head and it makes the story easier to understand. “Then seconds later, a very attractive light skinned, nicely shaped woman with long hair hopped out of the driver side like she was mad at the world. Immediately after she slammed her door, the passenger side door opened up and fate reared its ugly face.” (185) This is an example of the descriptive details and imagery that Kiki Swinson uses. I can actually imagine the way the light skinned girl’s face looked. This is a good skill because it makes the book and the scene interesting. The descriptive details explain the moment and the imagery shows the reader in stead of just telling.
I believe that every book has a genre. The genre for this book is drama. Kiki Swinson uses a lot of problems that usually happen in a rock relationship. For example, Ricky is Russell’s best friend, and Kira is pregnant by Russell. This is an aspect of drama because Ricky doesn’t know that his soon to be divorced wife is pregnant with his best friend Russell’s baby. I also believe that the genre of this book is drama because of the theme’s that this book portrays. One theme of this book is drugs. Drugs usually cause drama and this is why Ricky is in jail.
I love the books writing style. I say this because the author didn’t just rush through each scene. She took time to explain it and she wrote from two points of view. Through out the book, Kiki Swinson goes back and forth with Ricky's point of view and Kira’s point of view. For example in chapter 2, titled “Choice to Make,” Kiki Swinson is telling the story from Kira’s point of view. In chapter 3, titled “After Mail Call,” the author is telling the story from Ricky’s point of view. I think this writing style is interesting because it’s like we have the best of both worlds. We get to see how both of the main characters feel.
Overall, I believe that this book is outstanding. I would give this book four stars because it discusses the three elements that I feel make up drama. These elements are violence, drugs, and relationships. While you are reading this book, some things will excite you, some things may not, but either way, you will be satisfied! I would recommend this book to anybody who loves Kiki Swinson’s books and anybody who read “Wifey.” This is the name of the book that came out before “I’m Still Wifey.” This is a saga and the book after “I’m Still Wifey” is called “Life after Wifey.” I’m going to read this book next! I’m addicted!!

Have you ever been in a situation that may cause you your life? Being betrayed by your own wife, that's suppose to hold on you when hard times come.It even got to the point that your husband wanted to put an hit on you and your family. Because of the dumb ass decision you made to get revenge on him. But everything start going down heel when one person start to tell the truth about you.So now you stick and don't know what to do.So get ready for an awesome adventure.

It's ten clocking in the morning and Kira's head is racing on what she should do about her situation.Should she gone had skip town or just face the fact that she have to help her husband out this one time. But Kira feel different. She's looking at the phone thinking should she pick the phone up or not.As the phone keep ringing Kira is thinking bout her cousin Nikki and what she said early in their convention. Now her action are catching up with her.

Kira a young lady from Virginia, has a lot going and she barely handle the pressure. Kira has a husband name Ricky that's a drug-lord and that is now looking at life sentence and maybe end of dead during his time. Kira really don't want to have anything to do with Ricky because he had slept around on her with one of her stylist Sunshine. By getting revenge on her husband, she slept with her husband's best friend Russ. But that when all down heel when Russ had robbed Kira for three hundred thousands dollars and now she pregnant by Russ.

Kiki Swinson is author that like to take things to the next level. She make you feel that you are part of the book. Kiki uses details that make you read the next series of I'm Still Wifey. The examples Kiki uses is Kira's husband was trying to hire somebody to kill her and where she live, and how they wanted her killed. Ricky was having affair with the C.O Lena and how far their relationship got.Ricky was paying Lena to bring in food and cocaine from the outside. But Lena felt that Ricky took it to far when he wanted her to finish off Ricky's hit.

So the conclusion of this book that everyone is not loyal to the game. They weather have riches then having support and love. But at the end of the day people look out for their selves then their love ones and their safety.

Good read, I have to say I liked this one better then Wifey. This one it is more action more set ups and we now get to read more about Ricky as one of the main charcaters.

Now Kira is a woman who is married to Ricky a drug dealer that ends up in jail for a murder rap. But, while he's in jail all things starts to fall in place when he finds out that Kira set him up to get him locked up by the Feds. Ricky playing his doggish ways by sleeping with a CEO to get what he wont food, sex and drugs so he can stay on top of everything even while in jail.

Kira moves on and live her life she starts talking to a friend on Nikki's boyfriend Syncere, Mark and Kira falls head over heels but, what Mark don't know is that Kira is pregnant by Russ the man that set her up to robbery her and leave her high and dry.

Kira gets all closed to Mark but, then he ends up dead and she ends up shot twice. Ricky trying to used Kira to set up Papi he is like a dad to Ricky that got him in the game and Ricky want him set up by the Feds so her can get out of jail but, Kira says no and tell Ricky everything about Russ and about her beening pregnant by Russ. So Ricky set it up so that Kira could get killed but, it all blows up when the CEO spill the beans to Kira about what Ricky trying to do. So Kira goes and set up Ricky and Russ by talking to Papi.

This book was good can't wait to read Life After Wifey.

The second book to this series has got to be a dream. I’m not sure if I want to say Kira was a selfish chick that allows money and material things to control her or if she is just playing the hand she is dealt with. Ricky is a narcissist I’m beginning not to like his character. He preys on woman with means he’s a weak man. Nikki is very naive when it comes to the streets. I’m praying as the series continue she becomes street smart. Mark was short lived in the book it’s sad how he ends. Syncere I knew something wasn’t right with him when he was first introduced to the series. His character is shady. On to the next book in the series….

I️ did like the different point of views, The male side and the female side. What wasn’t convincing throughout the story was how Kira basically was already in love with a guy that she knew for two weeks. She barely knew this guy but she felt like her whole life was wiped away when he died?? She didn’t even tell him that she was pregnant.

1. 3-5 sentence summary
2. Reason for number of stars given to each book
3. Significant quotation correctly cited and explained within
4. Make connection to topics covered in class
5. Who would you recommend this to and why?

Kira finally is happy, her "husband" Ricky is behind bars and they had became enemies. Kira eventually moved on to another sexy and not to mention rich street thug. living in the lap of luxury getting everything she wants and more but then she is faced with three problems. her prince charming has a girl back home in Jersey, she has to find a way to tell Russ she was pregnant and got on her bad side and her "husband" ricky keeps sending his boys off the street to find her.

the reason why i give this book 5stars is because it took me 2 days to finish it. it was so exciting and captivating and i hate reading. plus the first book was much slower this one was drama after drama, and surprise after surprise.

"God knows where he is. but i told her that was the furthest thing from my mind because weather i had Russ in my life or not i was gon' have this baby " pg. 2

this book is about the streets it has nothing to do with class but is has simple, complex, compound and complex compound sentences in it :)
"Ever since i met ricky i have been involved in the game, and i want out"pg. 79(compound)
"if this was a few years ago ide never thought that russ would be the father of my child." pg. 41 (simple)

an urban group just because its more relate able

KiKi Swinson...One of my favorite writers has dont it again! She did her thing and did it WELL.

Kira is a girl who's married to man name Ricky,Ricky is now in prison
Thanks to Kira and her cousin Nikki who sold him out to the FEDS in the last novel. This gets back to Ricky from one of his babymamas while he's incarcerated. He cofronts Kira about it over the phone but she plays her cards right and Tell him no,but later on he finds out from his lawyer she's lieing.Kira and her cousin did set him up. Ricky felt betrayed that Kira would do this to him after all he has done for her,but what he fails to realize is "Every dog has their day" and thats exactly how Kira feels towards Ricky, but being the evil person Ricky is he's not having it no matter how much cheating he did on her while he was out in the streets and breaking her heart,so he tells her to set up a man name Papi he knows so he can get out of prison or he's going to have her killed.

Kira of course being the strong "Wifey" she goes along for a while just to shut him up but eventually does things her way!
She tells Papi which is who is like a father to Ricky who even put him in the game in showed him the ropes about Ricky little plan to have him set up and all hell breaks loose...

Definetely a page turner!:)

Ricky is still running things behind bars. OMG I cant believe Russ I just knew him and Kira was going to run off and be happy together. I think Kira felt too comfortable talking to Russ and he just used it to his advantage and he knew Ricky was going down thanks to Kira so he took that money from Kira like takin candy from a baby. Ricky was so hurt when Kira told him about that baby I knew he was gone try to put a hit out on her for that he really loved her but like he said it paid the cost to be the boss and I cant believe that he was willing to give up Papi just because he didnt want to do the time and that was like a father figure to him you shouldnt do the crime and if you cant do the time and Sunshine wow you see nobody can be trusted friends turn to frenemies when money is on the line.

I read this book in three days. This ia a great book to read if you like alot of action or supense. The thing the most I learned about this book is that karma is real. When you do mean things to others it will come back and bit you in the butt you will never know when. So it dosn't pay to do wrong because it will follow you, and then catch up.

To summarize this book the theme of the story is payback is a bitch. The setting of the story in the late 1980's and early 1990's when the drug sence was popping and off really well. Is this story there was alot of conflicts Kira vs Husband, Kira vs Herself, eevn Kira vs Society. In this story Kira was an antagonist character. This sorry also had a lot of imagery as well. Like when Kira got shot. I amanged she was going to die.

I think KiKi Swinson is an awesome writer. Her words aren't big and huge. (where for to thy for LOL) She short and sweet and quick to the point. She writes for African Americans, especially for the ones that get overlooked...She writes to someone that can relate to her work. (ME) It feels good to know that someone cares enough to mix the game up a little, to reach a hoodstar. I know first hand at what she is writing about. She doesn't write to fast, her sentences are slow paced and her themes keep the pages turning. She deserves the awards that she got from Essence because she's writing to me, writing for me, speaking the situations and involving the consequences. I'm a hood author myself and how are you going to reach people from the hood?? KIKI SWINSON!!! Go Girl!!

My book is about a women name Kiki Swinson and she is a fighter and a nice person in the inside and outside so she saw a another women that she knew and that person said stuff about her. So Kiki and that person was fighting. The women grabbed a handful of Kiki's hair and twist it into a knot and Kiki was punching her in the stomach and the head so the cops was on their way and the women and her boyfriend left and all of a sudden the cops came and said "you alright". then Kiki said "yeah I'm fine". So the cops said what she look like and Kiki Swinson told the cops.

I would have given this one 4 stars but I just can't get over all the mistakes. KiKi Swinson needs a PROOF READER like last year!!!You may write ghetto books but you don't want to handle your business like you live next door to Rickey's baby mother!!! I digress....

This author did however step up her writing skills. This book was alot more exciting than the first.Still not "read it all in one night" material. But I was gracious and gave 4 stars.

Now this was so much better than the first book. Glad that Kira finally took charge and started to get payback I'm also upset she got screwed in the end when all she did was be faithful to another lame inconsistent man. Hoping book 3 brings some sort of twist cause right now I hated that ending!

Great read nonetheless.

Great book! I can't wait to start reading the next book in the series. Kira can't be dead. I think Russ and Ricky got what they deserved. It amazes me how people know the rules of the streets, but they still break them thinking they will supercede the consequences.
