Tessa is a school teacher and single mom starting a new life in Paris, TN. Romance is the last thing on her mind.
Bishop is the leader of the Devil Chasers’ Motorcycle Club, and a single dad trying to rescue his son from sins of his father. He doesn't have time to add a woman into the mix.
Bishop's past won't let go, and soon Tessa is swept up in the powerful, intense biker's world - and all the danger that brings. How hard can she hold on?
This was more of a feel good MC, where two people are brought together by circumstances. Mainly Tessa being a school teacher and her student's father Bishop is the leader of the Devil Chasers’ Motorcycle Club. You know how it goes, guy meets girl there's attraction and yada yada yada. Add a rival MC in the mix and you have a goodread. The journey of watching these two meet, develop a relationship was nice, verse going all hardcore violence that I love. Tho tame keeps your attention, definitely recommended.
Very weak writing, story rushed, no real background info on any characters, characters mentioned once and never referred to again. The list goes on. A real shame as there was the bones of a really good story hidden in amongst the trash.
This story was a lot of fun to read. The leading lady was so sweet and likeable. Her hunky love interest was a bad boy with a heart of gold. This was not a story about a 1%er and his wild lady, but there was certainly a lot of action. There was a twist I didn't see coming, and I always love when that happens. All in all, it was a fun read. I look forward to reading more about the Devil Chasers MC and their ladies.
HAPPY READING! Jen Bailey, author of the Airendell Chronicles
I really liked this. Loved both the hero and heroine.
Much, much better than the other biker & teacher book that's out (Incandescent). I would like it to have been a bit longer - it was too good to be so short. Can't wait for more in this series.
Not crazy about this one, the writing was just not strong enough for me. I think it was a case of too much telling and nowhere near enough showing which frustrated me no end.
This was a good MC read ! There was steam with a little bit of suspence . I loved all the characters and the kids were to damn cute. I love this author and I will continue on to the next book in the series.
This was an ok MC romance, there were parts I really liked and parts that were just ehh in the end it just left me under whelmed . I almost felt like this romance was too sweet and everything was too easily tied up while in the romance itself was too quick with not enough content for me to understand how they fell in love. This book is told by Tessa and Bishops point of view which I love but there is also two MC members who have very small point of views told in this book and I had a hard time with the writing flow for their parts. This is a quick read and if you are someone who want romance with little drama you will like this book.
One day when Myles gets in trouble Tessa, his teacher calls in his father to meet and talk about Myles. When Bishop walks in they are both instantly attracted to each other and each wants to get to know the other. As his punishment Myles helps prepare for the school fair which means Bishop and Tessa start to see each other more. When Bishop asks Tessa out she agrees. What started as a fun time soon turns into more for them both and they begin to fall in love.
Bishop wants his MC out of illegal ventures and sets out to do just that while making enemies along the way from a MC not wanting them out. When things start going wrong Bishop knows it is an angry rival MC, then Bishop is hurt and they make plans to get even while getting their rivals gone. But their rivals have been watching and they know all about Tessa and plan to send a message to Bishop. Now Bishop will do anything to save the woman he has fallen in love with against the threat that is closer than anyone originally thought.
Bishop, president of the Devil Chasers MC meets Tessa, his son’s schoolteacher. He’s trying to get out of the gun running business, she’s trying to adjust to a new town with her two kids. And, of course, romance happens.
The Good, The Bad and Everything In Between
-Easy on the wallet: Kindle Unlimited book: so free with subscription or 99 pennies to buy it.
-It’s your gentler, kinder type of MC romance: This isn’t a train wreck kind of MC romance, the kind that’s so horrible and dramatic that you can’t stop looking at it. About the most outrageous thing is the gun running, but even that feels fairly tame, and the club is trying to get out of that business. There’s no WTF-ery going on, and there’s no OTT melodramatics. The writing is clear, and the characters’ motivations are straightforward and understandable - this is a world where the bikers may be engaged in some illegal activities, but the story’s more about the camaraderie than being criminals.
-Needed a little something more: There was a lack of a spark in the writing. It was a bit stilted and perfunctory, and it lacked a bit of descriptiveness that would have enlivened the story. As it was, I wasn’t drawn into the romance because I didn’t feel the chemistry between Bishop and Tessa. The words were there, but I wasn’t feeling the emotion between them. It seemed to go from an attraction to HEA without a real emotional buildup.
The Bottom Line (2.75 stars) It was...ok. I wasn’t blown away, but I’ll say I liked the secondary characters enough that I’d give the series another go, see if it gets better.
This was an ok MC lite book. The writing is choppy and dialogue and scenes a bit juvenile at times. Things move very fast between the H/h but seemingly without a lot scenes together. There is a bit of outside drama, which keeps the story going. The hero is pretty good but I did not have a ton of connection to him. The heroine was great but at times acted too young for her age and did not have "normal" reactions to situations (like being shot).
Eh I picked this up - library book, 5 hour audio so short, mc (trope I like) and older than 18 h with kids… it felt like a good sign. I just didn’t find the story pulled me in. It was like story story sudden drama now HEA. Well written. A nice change from 18 year olds but I wonder if it needed a touch more depth
Inferno is the first book in the Devil Chaser's MC series. The story revolves around Tessa and Bishop. Bishop is the MC president and Tessa is a school teacher who has Myles, Bishop's son, as one of her students. Compared to other MC books that I've read, this one was short and sweet. I think it was a good first effort by Ms. Wilder and I've a feeling that the series will keep getting better.
I truly enjoyed reading this book. This was a great change for me. This was not a dirty and gritty MC book. This was an MC book with a different twist that makes it stand out. It's the book for you if you want your HEA and true love conquers all. There was a great plot twist that I so wasn't expecting. I will definitely read more from this author
Why is it that the roar of a speeding motorcycle stirs our blood and makes our hearts beat a little faster? Is it infatuation with the unmistakable rumble of the sound or a real desire for a bit of danger and intrigue in our lives? Tessa. a conservative elementary school teacher, is pulled into such a decision when she meets Bishop. Strong, handsome, and extremely intense, he is the head of a motorcycle gang. The minute he walks into her third-grade classroom for a parent consultation, the reader begins to wonder just how Tessa will answer this question. The fact that he is a concerned parent and that she is a single mom with two precious children throws another dimension to this alluring plot.
This story is full of passion while danger lurks around every corner. The secondary characters are a strong addition to this compelling and romantic work of fiction. Ms. Wilder has created a story that appeals to the romantic nature of the reader while creating a great mystery that impels us to read on.
OMG! First book for me by this author but I honestly loved it! Storyline was well written, intriguing and steamy. Definitely a page turner that made me want more. Bishop is a sexy badass MC president who is raising his son alone and wants the best for him. Meets Teresa who is his son's school teacher. Oh yeah! Instant attraction and hot chemistry. Makes me think of that rock song Hot for the Teacher! Loved their interaction and all the characters. Would recommend and can't wait to read more!!
I have to say that I was convinced I'd already read this book it was only when I was looking at 'Consumed' that I checked more closely and realised it was actually 'Ignite' I'd read. Tessa is a mother of two and a school teacher, she's divorced and starting life fresh in Paris, Tennessee when one of her favourite pupils gets into a fight she has to call his father and that's when she meets Bishop for the first time. Bishop turns up at his sons school and can't take his eyes off his teacher, Ms Campbell. The attraction is instant but is there anyway this can work, he's the president of the Devil Chasers' MC and his club is facing real problems, maybe even war and she's a teacher who's never been on the back of a bike before. While I enjoyed this book and I liked not only Tessa and Bishop but Courtney and the rest of the Devil Chasers as well it seemed to be missing something, since I've already read 'Ignite' and given it 4 stars I'm going to continue on and read 'Smoulder' next.
Single mom Tessa knows how to read kids, especially since she has two of her own. When one of her students struggles, she calls his dad to come in to discuss. Bishop is the president of Devil Chasers's Motorcycle Club and a single dad, he knows something is up with his son but is not sure how to figure out what it is. Bishop has enough going on with his club and no time to start a relationship but he feels something for Tessa and can't seem to stay away. As his club is under attack he has to find a way to keep Tessa and her kids safe as well, but will all the drama push Tessa away.
I liked this one but thought the courtship was a little off. It was to much acceptance right off the bat. Overall good story, sets the pace for another story which looks to be fantastic.
This was my first book by Ms. Wilder and it won't be my last. It is a great start to a new biker series but it seemed to go quite quickly for me. I wish there had been a little more. It seemed to jump around a little with the story, but I did find Tessa and Bishop enjoyable. She seemed to be his perfect other half and visa versa, but I wanted more. At one point, I was hoping her ex would come into the picture just to give something more, but I can honestly say that I was not expecting the turn of events towards the end of the book! That was a welcomed surprise and now I look forward to more from this series. Hopefully we will get more of this couple because they seem a little unfinished.
Thank you Ms. Wilder for a very enjoyable book!! I look forward to more from you! ;)
A good start to my binge of the Devils Chaser MC series. Bishop is such a great guy. A total badass with a big heart.
Tessa is a strong heroine that easily falls into the MC life. With the love and protection she gets from Bishop there are no doubts of him being in her life.
I found another little gem of a biker romance...sweet but hot looking teacher and the biker dad of one of her students...they meet, lock eyes and soon everything else falls in place. There was the usual conflict between two rival clubs, threats and sabotage (the title Inferno has meaning in this one) and yet, the club life itself (including the club whores) was pretty tame compared to most books I've read. In any case, I loved the relationship between Tessa and Bishop and the fact they were both single parents who loved their kids to death, made it a really sweet love story and not just rough and raunchy sex and violence. A couple of characters from this first book will continue on in the next as we were left with a bit of a cliffie...and there is a twist near the end when Tessa's past comes back to cause trouble that I really didn't see coming...but all ends as well as it should. A really good effort by a new writer...only 99 cents right now...grab it!

Would I read again?: Yes Would I read this author again?: Yes
I just finished Inferno and I liked it. It's a biker book so I am all there. Bishop is a single dad is president of the Devils Chasers MC. He has a lot going on and wants to make his MC more legit. He doesn't need any more going on in his life....he meets Tessa. She is his son, Myles's teacher. Instant sparks. But a rival club is not wanting to let his gun distributor go causing him to be more reckless and spiteful toward Bishop and his crew. He will hurt the ones that he cares about most. Read this wild ride!
I enjoyed it. It was quick and sexy. My only complaint is that I didn't get a feel for the characters like I wanted too. I felt like I was just reading what the author wrote. Meaning I couldn't really hear their voices. I still got hooked and want to know what's going to happen. Ready for Renegade!!
A great MC read and very well done for the first book by this author. It will be interesting to see how her writing develops throughout this series. Inferno is the first book in the Devil Chasers MC series. It's the story of Bishop, the MC's prez, and Tessa. Tessa is Bishops son's teacher and the single mother of two. She's always lived a pretty normal life but meeting Bishop takes her a wild ride and all she can do is hang on. Bishop is working to turn his club away from illegal activity and becoming more legit. Some of the people they did business with in the past aren't too happy about this and begin making trouble for the club. Will Tessa and her children get pulled into this or will Bishop be able to keep her safe from the trouble a relationship with him brings??
Definitely a book I recommend. Looking forward to the next in the series.
I love MC books! This one was really good and the story was realistic! Tessa is a divorced mother of two and a school teacher. She has student Myles whose dad Bishop is Prez of the local Devil Chasers MC. Bishop is working to move the club in a legal direction and quit selling arms but the other MC they work with has a psychotic Prez named Dice who starts war when they break with them.
Tessa and Bishop start dating and realize that they have strong feelings for each other but Tessa questions life in the club- is mitt safe from her and her kids? Things heat up as war comes-can their love last? Good book!
