The Fortress of Odom

Rate this book
Six months after setting off on the great adventure he'd always dreamed about, Nall finds himself back on the sunny shores of clearwater Island with his childhood love, Tengar, and new friends Bright, Steiner, and Ruby.

But danger lurks on the horizon. A man with a five-hundred-ear grudge has gained possession of the four legendary runes and seeks to unleash their force, reducing the world and its inhabitants to ashes.

Determined to stop him, the adventurers travel to Coca Syn Moon to consult with Gemlem, the mystical leader of the quaint mountain town, who instructs them to seek three sacred tomes that can counter the runes' power.

Their quest leads them through desolate villages, haunted swamps, ambling dens, mythical fortresses and the long-destroyed city of Sector X-III.

The stakes are higher, the monsters fiercer, and time is running out...

Amazing! I️ am truly so invested. Purposefully read this slower than I wanted to so it wouldn’t be over, because I cannot wait for the next one!

Brian has done it again! Ah, it was so refreshing to read his book. I love everything about it—from the interesting cover to the captivating story. While it is targeted toward young adults, I believe it appeals to readers of all ages, including those like me who are a little older but still young at heart.
The book is a continuation of Brian's first work, "Ohlegan's Treasure: Search for the Runes," so I recommend reading that one first for better context. I don't want to spoil the plot, but to give you an overall idea, it's about a thrilling adventure involving five friends. The writing is easy to read, and following their journey is a genuine pleasure.
Although it is fiction, the story is so engaging that it keeps you guessing about what will happen next. I was pleasantly surprised that Brian included Clearwater Beach in Florida— a real place! Living in Florida, I've never had the chance to visit it, but this book has made me eager to go.
Overall, this is another fantastic addition to the series, filled with unexpected adventures. I genuinely adore both of Brian's books and hope that young readers enjoy them as much as I have. Congrats to Brian!

Very fun follow up to the first book Search for the Runes! I love the addition of Tengar to the group's adventures - she complements Ruby well as a female counterpart and we finally get to see her relationship blossom with Nall. As in the first book, Bright, Steiner, and Ruby steal the show with their banter and puzzle solving skills. Very cool new settings in this book - I couldn't wait to read about Sector X-III and it did not disappoint. The best part was learning more about Gemlem and their world. Highly recommend this book and I'm very excited for the final book in the series!
