Most of us who know and follow Jesus want to tell others about him, to share our faith. We want to live life on mission, obeying Jesus’ final command to “Go into all the world and make disciples.”But when it comes to actually engaging in evangelism, we hesitate. We get intimidated, uncertain, or even confused. Sharing our faith should be natural, easy—but it isn’t always.Until now.Life on Mission offers clear Bible teaching designed to empower you to share your faith with people right in your own neighborhood. Pastor Tim Harlow walks you through topics like how to connect with unbelievers, how serving others can open their hearts to the gospel, and how paying attention to your own spiritual growth can strengthen your witness.People who really matter to God are all around you, and God has given you the incredible assignment of inviting them to come home. Life on Mission will inspire and equip you to do that.
This book gets a solid five star rating. A lot of people believe that it's the church's job to save people or the church's job to feed the starving or help people in need. Pastor Tim Harlow sets the record straight that we need to open our hearts and lives to serve people in need. He does it with sound Biblical teaching and humor.
I am a bit bias because he was my Senior Pastor for years and I thought the world of him. I love the use of humor in books and he nails it. He's down to earth, real, and walks his talk.
Read this for a church small group series, and highly recommend! I have family members and friends who attended Parkview while Tim Harlow pastored it, and they all speak nothing but great things about him.
It was great to read this book and see a bit of what he’s all about. This book is an important read for all Christians, especially longtime ones. We could all use a reminder of the core of what Jesus was all about.
P.s. as someone raised in Chicagoland, I appreciated his references to Chicago culture ❤️
I really appreciate TIM'S heart, his Mission statement. The desire to look at the world and it's differences and similarities.Love is the key. Reconciliation, Forgiveness, Healing, Unity, Diversity.
I am thankful to TIM'S heart, his Mission. The desire to look at the world and it's differences and similarities. Love is the key. Reconciliation, Forgiveness, Healing, Unity and Diversity.
Oh how motivating this book is. Tim is the Senior Pastor at Parkview Christian Church. I attend so this may be biased, but he is charismatic, funny, uplifted, forward, passionate and motivating. Some times it's hard to be like God, walk like Him, talk like Him, but when he puts the concept of God they way he does, as an ordinary man from humble beginnings. That the Lord lives! You realize with an open heart and love for all you too can live a life on mission.
This was a very good book, with so much to say. I feel that this is a book one could revisit again and again and come away, learning something new. It definitely leaves you with a lot to chew on!
Our whole church is reading this book, and being a reading snob, I had my doubts about it's "depth." It's an easy read, for certain, but it also has a freshness that is needed for today's church. I know my whole life should be devoted to God and be "on mission" for Him. This book helps make sense of that and gives some working guidelines as well as some deeper content for mulling over.
Sometimes church books are hard for me to read. I lose interest and tune out while reading and don't know exactly what was in the pages. Not with this one. I loved it! I would recommend this book to anyone that calls themselves a Christ follower.
Great book but geared towards people who are mostly surrounded by church people and friends, as it encourages you throughout the book to step out of your church comfort zone and make friends with people who are non-christian and then essential guides you through that process.
