this is a "this is actually enjoyable" 4 stars, not a "wow this was absolutely bloody amazing everyone should read" 4 stars. I enjoyed the concept but the idea of a jealous little sister trying to kill the main character, and the lengths she went, were a bit over the top. I thought the twist was nice. but would I read again, probably not.
Is there a second book in the making because I would really like to know where this is going. What is real and what isn't?? Fair warning y'all I totally didn't understand how it was considered paranormal, but when you reach the end you find out and your mind kind of implodes with the implications of knowing. I really enjoyed this book it was full of suspense! The ending may throw you because it's kind of crazy but the book was quite amazing and the ending just ups the anti. I hope there's a second book. The Pandora box set advertises no cliffhangers and so far at least for this I feel that's correct. I feel like the book did leave some questions unanswered but the way it ended makes some of those questions irrelevant if're to believe the e was what it was. I know that's cryptic but I don't want go to spoil aything. Anyway if you like suspense I suggest giving this book a read I think you'll enjoy it. Also it's probably around 300 nook pages for anyone who wants to know.
I really enjoyed this, well until the end. I was hooked from the beginning and when her sister was involved I was sucked in, could not put it down. But I feel the twist in the end just kind of ruined it. I love fantasy/supernatural books but that ending kind of felt like a 'and then she woke up and it was all a dream' ending that I wrote when I was five to end my stories when I got bored with writing. Bit of a shame really.
Abriana is kidnapped by Easton but we soon see that it is instigated by her jealous younger sister, Alexa. The story is told from both girl's perspective. Lots of twists and turns along the way lead to a major twist at the end. Had some interesting ideas but everything was over the top and yet simplistic. Ending was sort of a tack on for shock value. Felt like a good first draft of a work with potential. Interesting line - “A mixture of blood and tears dripped down my forehead...” - how is that possible?
Shade by Kelly Anne Blount is incredibly creepy. The writing style is a bit juvenile, but the story line is well plotted and drafted. I did not see that coming. With a bit more editing....
Zero stars - and I should not mark it as Read, I read maybe 1/3 of the book, then I tried to skim it, but I ended up flipping to the end.. the end looks like it may have been a nice twist, but I really couldn't get into the story at all, with all that boohoo I hate my sister, she needs to die, there was no real story line, just a whiney twisted sister.... good-on anybody who read the book and enjoyed it... it just didn't do it for me...
Abriana is kidnapped when she goes out on a date she met online. She has a younger sister, an ex boyfriend, and parents. I wish I could write about the story, but I'm not sure what the true story is. Twists and turns are here and there. And at the very end, I was even more confused as to what was real and what was manipulative belief. I found this in the boxed set called Pandora. The set and this book are worth the read.
Purchased as part of the Pandora compilation in the Amazon Kindle store.
Wow! OMG! That was a helluva story! I did not see the end coming. I'm not saying much more than that because I don't want to spoil anything for future readers.
Suffice to say, this was a vividly portrayed story that took me for a ride and left me with my head spinning. I will be looking for other books by this author.
Honestly, I thought the whole book rather annoying. I got it for free and it only took me a couple hours to read so at least it wasn't a huge waste of time. Sure, the plot twist at the end was a surprise, but it was more confusing than interesting. I'm not sure if I would consider it paranormal either. If you got the free Pandora set, I would say just skip this book.
Wow! Read in one sitting. The second book in the Pandora collection. Interesting that it is under paranormal but gets you really thinking. Even had some 'out loud' frustrating moments. A massive twist at the end. Well written and an easy read.
I loved the book then found out that everything had been in her head and she had actually killed her sister rather than her sister trying to kill her. I understand that if she had continued with that it wouldn't have been very supernatural but I really wish it had kept with the original storyline.
