Gargoyles have been hidden among us for centuries, as the secret weapon of Heaven against the dark forces of Hell. They have been hidden to spare us the terrifying truth about our human existence. When Iseo is sent to the cathedral at Santiago de Compostela, Father Tomas trains her to become the first female Maker of Gargoyles. Guided by heavenly visions, she carves the glorious gargoyle she names Celestino. For forty days, he exists as a man of flesh and sangre and a winged-lion, before resting for seven days in stone. Iseo knows the beast well, but the man surprises her. Their mutual innocence complicates the natural bond between Maker and gargoyle, as it blossoms with the first forbidden blush of love. They must fight the temptation to give in to love, as Celestino learns to fight the demons he vanquishes back to Hell.

Celestino possesses the strength to wrestle the unclean back to the Underworld, but does he possess the strength to resist a single kiss from Iseo’s lips?

About the author

I write historical fiction and fantasy. I am fascinated by Greek mythology. In graduate school, I focused on the ancient history of Greece and Rome. Hooked by the “sword and sandal” world, I studied everything I could about mythology and Alexander the Great.

The Homeric Chronicles series is dedicated to merging dozens of Greek myths, including Homer’s epics, with plays, history, and archaeology. My intent is to raise the heroines’ voices equally alongside the heroes, opening up a traditionally male focused genre to a female audience.

I live in CA and enjoy spending time with my children and grandchildren. I have a pack of two big dogs and two cats. I love to hear from readers. My favorite spot to scroll through is Twitter!
