“Detours” is a collection of short stories that about the winding road life takes for three very different characters. In “Minski”, we’re introduced to a former college professor is sent over the edge by what he calls a growing culture of familiarity and his botched breakfast order. “The Plan” follows a criminal and his drug-addled partner on their last unfortunate heist. Finally, “Roses Grow” offers a glimpse into an alternate future where the sky is filled with a concrete cloud and leaflet-dropping sorties. Time winds down with maddening inevitability for the lone woman remaining.
