This little novella is part of the Wicked Lovers series and involves the connection between Decker and Rachel. It was originally released as part of the anthology Wicked and Dangerous.

When a stranger approaches Decker with an offer to hire him as a hit man, Decker forms an instant connection with the intended victim and vows to do anything he can to save her. But first he has to meet her, convince her she's in danger-and find out who put out the hit.

Their relationship is complicated by the fact that Decker can't tell her why he sought her out, and by Rachel's ex-husband, who wants to know what went wrong in their marriage before he marries his new love.

The sex is hot, the characters fun ( Decker's string of pick up lines is hilarious) and the story is fast paced. As always with a good author, I would have liked more book, but what there was of this one was a cute story.

This is so clinical! Let's have endless discussions about how to go about enjoying sex! I mean, I know communication is key, etc. but I think this could have done in a sexier way. It almost read like a pamphlet!

And the "suspense" plot is totally ridiculous. I don't care to find out who wants to kill her.

I liked the story, but it was too short. I love the sexy scenes. I really need to read the series from the start to see if any of these characters know each other.

I loved Decker and Rachel! This short was fantastic the story was perfect and we already knew who Decker was from the book before so it was nice to see him as a man.

Rachel really was ready for a new start and Decker was exactly what she needed.

LOVED the narration.

I didn’t listen to the second story because I haven’t started that series yet but I will.

I took a break from my fan-fiction kick to dive back into the mound of TBR I have waiting for me. I wasn't disappointed. Even as a novella, Wicked All Night was a great start to my 2016 read list.

Decker is dark, dangerous and a bit of a puppy dog. He's sweet with an edge that makes you fall a little in love with him from the first moment. His instant possessiveness, drive to protect and serve, and need for justice makes my heart flutter for this enigmatic hottie.

My Decker - Chris Pratt

Rachel is your sweet, innocent, misunderstood school teacher without a way to see a fault in a soul. She's kind to a fault, willing to sacrifice her happiness for even the most undeserving (a.k.a. her ass-hat ex-husband Owen). I would compare her to Jane Bennet - so sickly sweet and innocent that you would want to hate her, but just can't. That, and she seems to instantly see the light inside the dark of Decker, and entices it out.

My Rachel - Odetta Annable

The story is, of course, too short and rushed. It's a novella - always too short for me. But it engages the reader and keeps you smiling until the end. Shayla is known for the danger element of her "Wicked Lovers" saga - not only D/S tempered but often personal safety issues for one or more of the characters. I enjoy this suspenseful element. It doesn't usually feel like she repeats herself, but this story does echo her story of Morgan and Jack from Wicked Ties. It still didn't take away from the narrative for me, however.

As always, Ms. Black has a way with steaming up her bedroom scenes - that's why she makes the big bucks. If you want to feel hot flashes, this is a good read for you. ;)

Off to read the next in the "Wicked Lovers" saga. Like Pringles, once you pop, you can't stop.

Decker Sweetie you are a Keeper. That combination of searingly hot alpha male, cheesey comedian and understanding sweetheart is a dangerous combination. No wonder Rachel could not resist. I loved this book. He's seductive and so yummy while she's so sweet and innocently charming. Together they make each other come alive and that mixed with a hint of danger makes this book such an awesome read. I couldn't put it down.

While this story is a part of the series and this is a novella, it really was the sweetest, hottest reads.

The GOOD: the author drives the plot device through very quickly in the opening scenes explaining the plot and the hero's motivation. The monologues of Decker and Rachel were just right. Decker was so supportive and protective of Rachel when the ex came to demand favours from her.

If ONLY: the plot device while it moved the story along, the drama seemed a little forced. It didn't totally line up, but somehow that wasn't too bad.

Read this for:
One sexy alpha hero
One sexy alpha protective hero
One sexy alpha hero putting the ex in his place and telling it like it is
One sexy hero giving the heroine the best sexy times ever
No major angst, just some good ol' loving
Hero who analyses and doesn't run when he realises he is in love
Heroine who hears the hero had not told her the truth but still believes him
No unnecessary drama and angst
Absolutely fun couple
Hero and his cheesy pickup lines

Decker McConnell works for Xander and Javier Santiago and they are in club looking for the woman he has been contracted to kill. He does not intend to kill anyone but wants to find who is behind this and put a stop to it before she is killed. He finds her and gets her to dance with him. He’s unsure of the feelings he is getting and has never felt this strongly about a woman he just met before. But he is determined he will protect and cherish her and no harm will come to her.

Rachel Linden is divorced and has never been with a man like Decker. Her husband was a scientist and never interested in her at all let alone never seeing that she had an orgasm. But Decker not only gave her one but several in the night she took him home. She knows nothing about him but likes how he took up for her when talking to her ex. She feels protected and safe.

There are a few authors who REALLY know how to write an uber-alpha male and do it well... and Shayla Black is one of them. Her men are dominant and bossy and protective and so so sexy. With that being said, I wanted to love this book more than I did. I liked the idea of it, but there were things that just turned me off. I don't mind some humor in a romance, but Decker's sense of humor was borderline cheesy. Rachel was so stereotypical "uptight teacher" that I couldn't believe she would participate in anything Decker had going on.
The sex scenes were scorching hot, but the suspense was almost an afterthought.
I love this series, but this was not one of the better ones.

OMG, I had never heard or read so many silly pick-up lines together 🤣
It was hilarious:

"Yes! Can you guess what has 142 teeth and holds back a hungry beast?
No idea, she sent back.
My zipper, beautiful. Text me your address and I’ll show you."

“You cannot give me more pick-up lines and think that’s going to make everything all better.”
“Not even a little?” He nipped at her lobe, then started unbuttoning her blouse. “Wanna fuck? Breathe for yes; lick your elbow for no.”

A hot and funny story 😍

When I find out the man who I went home with had only went home with me because he had been hired to kill me, but says he decided to protect me instead but had decided not to tell me or warn me about any of this and just lie to me and sneak about, weirdly enough the very first thing I wouldn’t do would be to let him tie me to the bed and have sex with me. That’s just me though.

good read

Do love this author. Great wee read with mystery, romance and dominant guy who knows what he’s doing. Although a novella it’s a complete story and good to see London and her men again.

This was an ok novella. The smutty scenes were good, but I kinda of felt that this story was too quick and it felt like it didn't fit in the Wicked Lovers storyline.

From lust to love, too much too soon…

We have a divorcee, Rachel Linden, who revamped her life after her unhappy marriage ended. She’s a schoolteacher now in a new town and her personality is that of a wallflower. She’s out with friends one night to celebrate her birthday and sees the kind of man that fantasies are made of and he’s actually looking at her. For once in her life she’s going to go for the one-night stand even though she doesn’t understand what he sees in her. Instant-lust in action! This reader was proud of her.

Decker McConnell is a bodyguard on the trail of a woman that he needs to save, something that she doesn’t know about. He’s a protector by nature. Her picture has intrigued him and when he spots her he happily decides to pick her up to stay close to her and gain some information. His come on lines are so cheesy and amusing that you can’t help but smile at the images portrayed. Rachel doesn’t offer too much resistance and even shows a little sass. It doesn’t take these two long to get together even when circumstances change the timing slightly.

Rachel though having been married is still very innocent and Decker is quite sensitive to her needs when he realizes how naïve about sex she still is. He’s the perfect lover for this woman. They are a good complement but what becomes more than a one-night stand is based on a lie that he will have to fess up to and soon if he wants more from her.

I was very much enjoying this story until near the end. The instant love aspect totally killed things for me. It was hard to accept in the time frame of a few days but to then become instant marriage proposal and acceptance was just too much, even more so considering that the start of their relationship was based on a lie. The ending was not credible and pretty much ruined what was otherwise an amusing and cute novella with the bonus of some added suspense.

Rachel also let Decker off the hook way too easily for lying to her but then she does have a history of passivity which led her to stay in an unhappy marriage longer than she should have. She doesn’t seem to have learned from that lesson. I would have liked this story more if at the end these characters just admitted that they were falling in love and stayed together to see where that took them. This is though a cute, amusing and sexy read which I’m sure many who don’t mind “instant love” will definitely enjoy.

This novella originally appeared in the Wicked and Dangerous anthology.

Wicked All Night by Shayla Black is #7.5 in the amazing Wicked Lovers Series. I can’t get enough of this series. Shayla Black is the queen of writing the PERFECT DOM! Decker McConnell is no exception. I am so happy he got his own happily ever after. Even with his cheesy pickup lines, and when I say cheesy, I mean CHEESY, he can still make a woman melt right in front of him. And that includes a certain elementary school teacher. When Rachel meets this gorgeous guy at her birthday party, she owes it to herself to get back in the game and just have a one night stand with this sexy MAN! Oh boy! She has no idea what she is in for, and neither does Decker. Rachel isn’t the usual type of female he goes for, but one dance on the dance floor and he is hooked, he will do anything, and kill anyone that tries to harm a hair on her head.

“God, you taste so fucking sweet. I want to devour all of you, but I can’t stand to stop kissing you.”

Coming out of a horrible marriage with a douche bag that thought sex was a fuckin’ chore, Rachel wanted, no she needed to have control. Well, going up against a god like Decker, a natural Dom, that is going to be a little difficult. Decker finally breaks through her walls and shows her how to let go, how to just feel. When her ex husband Owen shows up at her door, that’s when all hell breaks loose and the heart pounding suspense begins. Secrets unfold, lessons are learned, and sizzling sex ensues! What more can you ask from a Shayla Black book?

I have enjoyed other works in Black's "Wicked Lovers" series, and figured this novella would be a fun and quick read...and I guess it was.

Rachel's surprised and pleased when Decker approaches her while she's celebrating her birthday at the local bar with friends. He's hot and funny, and she's looking for a walk on the wild side. Decker's been looking for Rachel -- someone's willing to pay big to take Rachel out, and he can't figure out why, since Rachel seems to be mostly what she appears to be...a sexually inexperienced recent divorcee.

They're instantly attracted to each other -- which is good -- this is a novella after all! Soon Decker and Rachel are getting hot and heavy and falling hard for each other. Eventually Decker discovers who's behind the plot, and everyone gets their HEA....almost instantly!

I would have liked it much more if the plot holes hadn't been quite so large, and if the reason behind the hit on Rachel wasn't so ridiculous. It rather ruined what was on track to be quite a nice little love story.

So..it was better than 'just OK' but not by much.

This novella by Shayla Black follows the continuing saga of the loves of the men living and loving in Lafayette, La and Dallas Tx. This time we have our main male character as Decker McConnell. In previous novels he is the man that is used by Xander Santiago to help in out in all kinds of trouble. Now that Xander and his brother, Javier are married to London and expecting a baby his days of saving Xander are over. Meanwhile he is working for the Santiago brothers and comes across a murder for hire scheme by accident so Decker is trying to save this damsel in distress named Rachel Linden from the murder for hire scheme. He needs to find out who wants her dead and why. As he tries to help her he finds himself losing his heart to Rachel while protecting her. Favorite humorous quote while nipping at Rachel's toes 'I'm having a party at your feet, beautiful. I think I should invite your pants down to join.' Great read.

Wicked All Night
Decker McConnell and Rachel Linden
3.5/5 Stars

Wicked All Night is the third novella of Wicked Lovers series by Shayla Black. Decker is friend/employee of Xander and Javier from Ours to Love, the story is hilarious with cheesy but funny pick-up lines. My only problem is the falling in love part, it is way too soon...

A great addition to the Wicked Lovers Series!

I truly enjoy this series, and what I liked best about Wicked All Night is that while it was filled with mystery, suspense, and LOTS of heat, it was fun too.

Decker may have been attempting to find out who was wanting Rachel killed, he was sweet and funny as he worked his way into her bed, heart and her life. I actually found myself laughing out loud at some of his corny pick up lines. It was not only cute, but sexy as hell.

I will admit, I was concerned about the outcome when Rachel learned the truth about how Decker initially came into his life, but Shayla Black didn't let me down when it came to what I hoped the ending would bring.

Never a dull moment with the Wicked Lovers.

Replete with an eclectic assortment of funny pick-up lines, Wicked All Night adds another sexy, erotic romance to Shayla Black's Wicked Lovers series.

Decker first meets Rachel under deceptive circumstances but quickly finds himself drawn to her in ways he doesn't quite understand. Rachel, in turn, finds Decker to be someone special. When Rachel's life is threatened, Decker rushes to protect her as he realizes that he doesn't want to live without her.

Wicked All Night may be a short novella, but it is full of all the elements I expect from one of Shayla Black's full-length novels.
