FIVE EXPLOSIVE STARS.

"I don't want to hurt anyone, interfere in anyone's life, but I don't want to regret not experiencing you when I had the chance."

description

Grab your kindle, some chocolate, maybe a glass of wine and make sure you have a tissue or two handy and definitely something to keep you cool. Skye Jordan has created a story that will have you reaching for your tissues and have you all hot and bothered all in the same book, her writing prowess has delivered yet another hard to resist hero and with a heroine that is giving as good as she gets, I was in erotic romance heaven. I have been in love with the Renegade series ever since the early days with Jax and Lexi and their naughty texting. Skye Jordan has an obvious love for these characters and in my opinion this ongoing series continues to go from strength to strength.

What's it all about?
Rachel Hart has decided once and for all that she is saying goodbye to heartache and complicated commitment's and hello to finding herself the perfect one night stand. As a dedicated team member of the Renegades this feisty lady has her hands full chasing after the boys, keeping the business afloat and loves nothing more than keeping order close and chaos at bay. Enter into the equation the mysterious stranger she meets and her ordered life may just have to make room for the delicious sergeant, Nathan Ryker. As strangers their attraction is instantaneous and with seduction and sexual tension high on the agenda this duo end up giving in to the explosive chemistry between them. After just one night Rachel leaves with confidence that she she has experience one perfect night of bliss but this damaged hero is connected to her life in more ways than she realises and it's not long before they meet again.

description

What did I love?
'Ricochet' was a highly anticipated release for me, like the title suggests there is more to this book than meets the eye. Not only has Skye Jordan delivered her trademark hotter than scorching sex scenes but the novel is also written with some touching scenes and I can admit that it had me reaching for my tissues a time or two throughout. This book was explosive in all the right ways and from page one I knew that this story was going to be hitting a top spot with my star rating. For my tastes this author certainly strikes a great balance of creating a well written plot and erotic story telling, I didn't feel like the book was over the top in it's delivery of naughty nookie but when those scenes did come along they more than made an impact. As far as characters go I really enjoyed reading about this couple, Nathan was perfect for my hero addiction tastes, he was dirty talking, had a wicked talent in the bedroom and also had the damaged hero vibe down to an art. Rachel was a great heroine to get to know she had her girly moments of self doubt and insecurity but she also came armed with a feisty personality that I fully connected with. I will never tire of books in the genre and it certainly helps when authors like Skye Jordan produces book that are easy to love. From hot to heartfelt, 'Ricochet' is a novel that it's a fabulously erotic book to escape with. Mrs Jordan I'm already waiting rather impatiently for your next Renegade instalment and I'm already convinced that Troy's story will be well worth the wait.

description

Final thoughts ...
Like most successful series that are linked by delicious heroes I never want the author to stop and with a collection of books as hot and well written as this I feel like I'm always waiting for more. 'Ricochet' was the perfect combo of heartfelt and red hot and there was nothing that can deter me from my fan girl antics after reading the latest from Skye Jordan. If you love your stories to be as well written as they are sexy then id recommend that you read this series, this author has three tempting heroes lined up for you to fall in love with and a fourth hero already in the works. Skye Jordan is an author that I'll always be on the look out for a new release, she satisfies my need for a naughty erotic novel fix and I know that readers who have similar tastes will not be sorry to meet this war hero and his journey to falling in love. Not too long till release day, enjoy ... Kisses.

5 Best in the Series Stars

Ricochet was a negative theme in his life, one that caused way too much collateral damage...

I have been hooked with this series ever since I first read and absolutely loved Reckless. Now while the second book wasn't quite as good due to a heroine that I wanted to punch in the throat more often than not, this book managed to completely blow it out of the water for me. I loved every page. It was sexy, it was emotional, it was beautiful, it was perfect.

Rachel Hart is used to seeing incredibly sexy men on a daily basis and not batting an eye lash. Being the assistant to the Renegades team is no small feat. She loved her job and she's not looking to compromise that for any man. Actually, scratch that, she doesn't want to get involved with any man period. One heartbreaking betrayal is enough to put her off of relationships for a long while. But a girl still has needs right?

Master Sergeant Nathan Ryker is a broken man. After a tragic incident on tour in Afghanistan leaves the sexy Ranger with living nightmares that haunt his every waking minute he attempts to drown them out the only way he knows how...alcohol and women. He's not meant for relationships, but he can definitely offer one sultry night. When his long time friend and Renegade, Troy, asks for his explosions knowledge assistant on set of a major movie stunt, he grudgingly agrees and then he meets the woman that just may offer him the distraction he needs while he's on leave for 3 weeks.

When she's sent to pick up "Ryker" from the airport but after a few drinks at the bar she meets the mysterious and sexy "Nathan" instead, Rachel doesn't give it a second thought. Too bad reality comes crashing down on her the very next day when she realizes the two men are one in the same, and her no mixing business with pleasure rule is suddenly blown to smithereens. Good thing Ryker is quite capable of handling the Ricochet. (ha! See what I did there?)
I don't want complicated. I don't want forever. I just want simple. No strings.

Oh I get you, Rachel, really, I do. Luckily Ryker is very much up (ahem) for the task, right?
I'm offering you exactly what you want. No-strings, no-shame, no-limits, no-complications, wicked-good sex. Complete with a agreed-upon end date, a vow of secrecy, and an eight-thousand-mile anti-stalking guarantee when it's over."

And when you put it like that, Ryker, I'm not sure about Rachel but

Rachel is no fool to pass up such a tempting offer. And tempting it is. How good is he, Rachel?
Jesus, that man really fucks. He's focused, absorbed, almost..."
"Obsessed?" Rubi supplied in the same hushed tone.
"Totally. It's enthralling. All encompassing. Like nothing else exists." She sighed, letting the delicious memory wash through her. "Un-fucking-forgettable."

Right then.

And Ryker, was it good for you?

Well of course you did. Rachel may be a nice and proper girl at work, but between the sheets she really lets loose. Not that I blame her. You are all kinds of delicious.

While the story definitely had it's share of steam...and LAWD was it steamy, it was Nathan's struggle with PTSD that truly captured my heart. I'm not even going to lie, there's some parts that managed to bring a tear or two even to my cold and black little heart. Skye Jordan did an incredible job with painting a picture of a realistic and heartbreaking struggle of a man fighting some dark demons and his road to get better.

Rachel was possibly my favorite heroine in the series. She was the perfect match to Ryker. Once she got past her own struggles, she really came into her own.
I may not know what you've been through. I may not ever be able to understand the depth or extremity of the suffering you've seen or done, but I can see an open wound...

While I would have loved an epilogue, I don't think I can come up with one complaint for this book and can't wait for more from this author. I love that each book also gives us another peak into the loves of the previous couples, and it was great catching up with all of them here. Now I'll just be sitting here and slowly dying in my wait for Troy's book. It can't get here soon enough <3

4.5 Explosive Stars!!!

"Ricochet can cause a lot of damage.”

Emotional, sexy and my favorite of the series so far, Ricochet is a story you won’t want to miss out on!

Rachel Hart is the lovable secretary to the renegade boys. She is so much more than a secretary to them. She is a friend, a little sister, she keeps them in line and keeps everything together. She is indispensable. Now she’s on a task to pick up Troy’s friend from the airport. He’s an expert on explosives an they desperately need him for a stunt. The problem is she can’t find him. So she does what anyone would do. She goes to the airport bar. After a mess of a relationship, Rachel isn’t doing them anymore. But for the first time, she meets a stranger that she wants one hot and sexy night with. So she goes for it.

 photo 487f0535-f1f6-43b0-ba44-b45958cdcf1c_zpsca60131a.jpg

Ryker isn’t having the best go of things. On mandatory leave from the army to get his head on right, he’s been getting drunk and sleeping around to cope. Thats until his best friend, Troy asks for his help. He’d do anything for his buddy, so he goes. This is where he meets Rachel at the airport. He knows who she is. She’s adorable in her glasses, yet sexy as hell. She doesn’t know his name is Nathan Ryker. To her, he’s just Nathan. He can tell that she wants him, and he wants her too. So they go to the hotel together.

One night. Intense chemistry. Together, they are explosive.

 photo 161e9373-67bf-4cbb-81ee-5af2dc6fa384_zps32409043.jpg

This story really does start out with a bang. Ryker is so yummy. After the two of them go there separate ways, Ryker goes to find Troy and Rachel gets back to work. Ryker didn’t think he would be working closely with Rachel. Didn’t think the boys would be so protective of her. She is officially off limits (at least thats what Troy says). But no one is more shocked than Rachel when she finds out that the Nathan she just spent the best and most erotic night of her life with is Nathan Ryker, who she only knew as Ryker. Now that they have to work together, it’s really over for her. But Ryker’s had a taste of her… and he wants more.
"I'm offering you exactly what you want. No-strings, no-shame, no-limits, no-complications, wicked-good sex. Complete with agreed upon end date, a vow of secrecy, and an eight thousand mile anti-stalking guarantee when it's over.”

Rachel and Ryker together were fantastic. Rachel is fun, feisty, spunky and devoted. She’s a heroine that didn’t annoy me. She’s loyal to her friends and her job. She cares about people. The more she gets to know Ryker, she starts to really care about him too.

 photo 2dbef723-5fd4-4ca7-aa06-5aaf6a671060_zps66ffd0a6.jpg

Nathan Ryker is handsome, sexy and sweet when he wants to be. He is also battling demons. Being in a war zone for 16 years off and on can’t be easy. He’s a broken man with a damaged past. He made my heart and my panties melt. Some of the things he said and went through had me in tears…
"I've... never had someone to come home to before.”

I loved the progression of their friendship/relationship. It went at a great pace. There was some major insta-lust going on, but no insta-love. Rachel and Ryker were two stand up characters separately, but I loved them best together.

Skye Jordan has written a wonderful series. These Renegade books are not to be missed. The writing is exquisite, the characters are fantastic and the stories are fun, emotional and steamy. It’s a great combo. With the extra sexy and heart wrenching moments, this was the best of the series! If you haven’t read these books yet, get to it!

5 Peeerfect and Best book of the series so far Stars*****

I love this series, there's just something that pulls at my heart with these guys. But I especially loved this couple. With the Military aspect of the story, this was HANDS DOWN MY FAVOURITE SO FAR... Grab your tissues, coffee, chocolate and kindle cause your in for a treat here.

 photo EC8DBF7A-6DC8-4B03-AA73-CBEB1DA2BF24_zpsskwee93y.jpg

Nathan 'Ryker' has suffered a tragic accident which has left him with a lot of nightmares, 'flashbacks' and terrible guilt of his friends and brothers loss.

 photo 2A02D8CE-B299-4AC9-8826-1035AAE402D7_zps1ftzyaxn.gif

He was a Sargent in Afghanistan, and is now on leave to get his head straight, so the way he lives is to go on a downward spiral of drinking, and a sex-induced escape, he lives this day in day out. But then his long-term friend Troy has asked a favour to come and help with a stunt that will give them a lot of money and ultimately help the Renegades out and give them the publicity and money they need to keep going at a much better rate. Troy thinks this is what he NEEDS and to stop the spiral he's on, so off he goes and comes to help.

Enter Rachel Hart- Rachel is the secretary, come helper, come nurturer, come EVERYTHING. So she is to collect Nathan at the airport and take him to his hotel room. Rachel has changed her philosophy to have no commitments, just a one night stand, she's still feeling the betrayal of her ex-boyfriend. So she just wants to enjoy herself and stop worrying about her future. Her job is demanding and her family are not her highest priority at the moment, her family to her is Renegades but she just needs a 'little relax time' its a good plan- so she thinks.

 photo pantiesofgif_zpsbd5d1716.gif

Then she meets Nathan and has a night of no commitments, plain and utter pleasure, she lets go. She lets him teach her to let go, this is not her norm and they walk away the next day thinking that's it, well Rachel thinks that. Then they bump into each other at Renegades and things get a little more complicated. Thing is what you've got to understand is that Nathan is INTENSE, the chemistry was OFF THE CHARTS 'Fireworks' I was completely and utterly engrossed into them when reading scenes of them together. Jordan also had the ability to make my panties melt but at the same time feel their emotion towards each other show. I FELT THEM.

Things at Renegades becoming slightly sticky so they make a plan.

"No Commitments. No worries. No hurt feelings. No lies. No secrets.

And time moves on...

 photo DB865668-4C6A-456B-93AD-2E9F30BBB651_zpsxxiwrfot.jpg

Nathan is rebelling though against his nightmares and his hurting, Rachel is a nurturer and is a doer, is Strong and quiet underneath therefore she wants to help him and to get him to overcome his pain.

The memories, the flashbacks, the nightmares

My Thoughts
This had it all, and my heart was pulled into the throws of the story, I was on edge then felt like I was interfering on a moment... eek so damn good. Lots and lots of intense Sex

Then those times when he was talking about his brothers.

Skye Jordan never fails to draw me into her world, introducing her characters in a really interesting, engaging manner. She makes me want to love them. Ryker and Rachel’s intro was all that and then, explosive… HOT!!

Ryker, our sexy broken hero is a good man, honourable, loyal, caring, dedicated and honest. The army has been his only constant, everything else... childhood, women, love... all transient. He’s seen and experienced things no man should have to.

Rachel our super efficient heroine is still dealing with recent heartbreak. It's dented her confidence, but she's a courageous, sassy chick and this shines through her personality. Unlucky in love, she’s now in protection mode.

My lovely thoughts
A gorgeous quality from this author is her ability to write out-of-this-world sexual activities. She absolutely, 100% excels in this area. I love the insta lust coming from our hero, so sexy!

I just adored the intimacy between this couple.

It's beautiful.

After all the yumminess, the main emotional highlight for me was the story line and dialogue with Ryker’s friend, Mike. This was so touching and reduced me to tears, very powerful.

I'm in the minority with my 3 stars,
but I have to be honest....

After the initial meeting of our leading characters, I started to feel a slight disconnection to the story and wasn’t really pulled back in until the half way mark, I found the stunts a little too detailed, just as I was getting into the feel of the characters, the book would go back to explosion details…

There’s a lot of back and forth, a little too much for me personally. I didn’t always feel the motivation for it. Also Rachel

Love to LOVE
When I read a Skye Jordan book I know I'm going to get great characters and a sexilicious, emotional theme so I’ll always gladly pick up a book by this author. My 3 Stars reflects that it's an I-liked-it read, which is how I feel about the third book in this series.

I have an affection for the Ricochet family, it’s a world with so many possibilities and I look forward to where Skye Jordan will lead us next. If you enjoy a good romance and a sexy, broken hero who needs rescuing and loving then grab this book, read and enjoy.

*Note* Ricochet can be read as a standalone but I’d thoroughly recommend the first two books, Reckless is my absolute favourite of the series.

4.5--Explosive--Stars!!

My oh my that Ryker was delicious! Deliciously Dirty and Deliciously Sexy!!!
"I'm going to spread you out on the bed when we get to the room. I'm going to look at you while I touch you. I'm going to lick you and suck you and fuck you. And I'm going to watch everything."

While Ryker isn't a "true" Renegade, he was just as drool worthy as the other Renegades. Ryker is on leave from the military. Troy asks Ryker to help on an explosives project for their latest movie.

Ryker suffers from PTSD after an explosion killed several of his men. He has frequent nightmares and uses sex and alcohol to forget.

Rachel is the glue to the Renegades. She keeps all of the boys in line, runs the show, takes care of everyone. Rachel is scheduled to pick Ryker up from the airport but gets stuck in traffic. She and Ryker, unbeknownst to them, both end up at the airport bar.

Ryker figures out who Rachel is but doesn't say anything. Afterall, he doesn't want to ruin what looks to be a HOT night together. And let me tell you, it was HOT!

But then Rachel founds out who her mystery one night stand really is.

Rachel is NOT happy. Rachel draws a thick line in the sand separating her work and personal life. And being with Ryker crosses that line. Ryker has his own ideas...

"I'm offering you exactly what you want. No-strings, no-shame, no-limits, no-complications, wicked-good sex. Complete with an agreed-upon end date, a vow of secrecy, and an eight-thousand-mile anti-stalking guarantee when it's over."

Ryker only plans to be in town for a few weeks and Rachel has trouble keeping things casual. What will happen when it becomes more than just sex? This is one explosion you definitely don't want to miss.

I think this one was definitely my favorite installment of the series, so far. Both MCs were great and I really liked the addition of Ryker's emotional issues and PTSD. Ryker and Rachel were EXPLOSIVE together!

4.5 Exploding Stars

 photo Ricochet_zps3cee71c1.jpg

A troubled man on leave from the Army - Called to help his friend with an explosion - Meets a cute, sassy girl with her own set of baggage and what do you get.......a flipping great book!!

This book is a continuation of the Renegades Stuntmen group. Rachel she was country-girl fresh and apple-pie sweet with a streak of Tonka-truck tough is their office manager guru. She was only suppose to be a temp as she was running away from problems. But over time she has embedded herself with all the Renegade men and has come to think of them as family as they do her.

Nathan "Ryker" is a military man through and through " charming, unruffled, cunning, and slick". He is battling demons about a recent mission. He is on temporary leave before returning. He needs to get his head on straight but the nightmares and the PTSD is playing havoc on him. He's broken-on the inside. He's hurting in a place that can't always be healed. He's damaged in a way that sometimes makes him hurt other people without meaning to. Maybe a call asking for his help from his friend Josh at Renegades is what he needs to distract him.

When Rachel is sent to pick up Ryker from the airport, she can't find him but does meet a stranger at the bar. She decides that she is gonna break out of her "always doing the right thing" shell. Rachel has her own heartbreak that she is running from. She is a "fixer" and she "cares" deeply. She decides to have a one night stand with this stranger she meets. Except you can guess, that stranger is Ryker who tried to tell her who he was but didn't really try very hard. They have a connection, her sassiness and jaded outlook intrigue the man whose demons need suppression. Their chemistry is off the charts...

 photo kisssing_zps1a19b586.gif

When Rachel finds out her stranger is Ryker, you can imagine how embarrassed and mad she is. She wanted a hook up, no strings attached and ended up with complications. It sets up for a great story. There is turmoil, heartbreak, sadness, sexiness, sneakiness, caring and fixing. Ryker is only stateside for a few weeks but he offers....

"I'm offering you exactly what you want. No-strings, no-shame, no-limits, no-complications, wicked-good sex. Complete with an agreed-upon end date, a vow of secrecy, and an eight-thousand-mile anti-stalking guarantee when it's over."

But can Rachel really do what he offers? She would like to be that carefree girl who thinks only of herself but can she? Their story has ups and downs with them sorting through their pasts and how they are troubled my them. They struggle with the secrecy, the temptations and their sexual chemistry. It makes for a frustrating read at times but in all, a great book with a wonderful ending.....

 photo tumblr_m1gsvy1YTb1qm6oc3o1_500_zps251cbdc9.gif

Before ending my review- I would like to add that there was a scene in which Ryker went to see one of his men that had been injured. I have to say it was such a moving and well written scene -It was inspiring and uplifting!! While I love a good sex scene (this book had fabulous sex scene by the way), a truly moving scene about our veterans is wonderful. My hat goes off to you Skye!!

I'll be waiting patiently for Josh's book but Skye, don't make us wait too long pretty please?

4.5 HOT EXPLOSIVE STARS!

*arc provided per Netgally for honest review*

I became a fan of Skye Jordan with the first Renegade’s book, and well this book totally solidified her awesome status in my book!

Explosions, fire, blowing it up...in every way. Thank God the Renegades needed to blow up a bridge or Nathan Ryker would have never been experienced! For those wandering...Yes this is a hot steamy, bad boy meets girl kind of romance read, but the game changer here is the awesome Rachel Hart. Jordan has written a female lead who is brassy, smart and so brave! She is the glue to the renegades organization and she handles them oh so well, testosterone abound! Honestly she is way too qualified to be a secretary, but she does her job and she does it with pride.

A casual drink in an airport bar brings a mysteriously sexy stranger into her world. She can't seem to find her pick up so why not wind down. That missing person, Nathan Ryker, is enjoying the company of Rachel and when things heat up there is no mention of who exactly he is.

After a night of the most amazingly open and sensual sex she has ever had, Rachel is floating on a high until the next day at work when her one night stand shows up in her office as the newest Renegade’s addition!

The tension and the complications arise for both Rachel and Nathan. These two characters have amazing chemistry not just sexual but also on a personal level. Nathan is struggling internally as he is on leave after an accident in Afghanistan left his team injured and dead. His PTSD is full on and it is very heartfelt to read his suffering. Rachel is a doer and a fixer and although she can’t be with Ryker, she feels drawn to him and she never backs down from offering him comfort.

It was truly a surprise to read a story where the female was the “alpha” in my opinion. No, she wasn’t aggressive, but she was strong and she knew what she wanted. She still had a soft feminine side that made her emotional, but she was always present when she needed to be and more importantly, she walked away when she had too!
I do wish I could have read more of Ryker’s coming to terms with his PTSD. The ending was bit quick but the whole read moved pretty fast. Overall, this book was really good. I was held in its trance and again, it was all because of Rachel. The sex is off the charts hot and relationship between Rachel and Ryker is a perfect blend of sweet comfort and aggressive passion. I hope that in the future books that these two characters come up again as I would like to see where they are in the future!

"Ricochet can cause a lot of damage."

I've gotta go with the general consensus on this one...my favorite by Skye Jordan so far! This was a story that squeezed some tears from me...the kind of tears that I tried to hold back because I didn't expect them and felt silly letting fall. Because...really? A sexy contemp romance about stuntmen and their go-to girl? Yeah, I went there. Nathan Ryker dragged the little teary-eyed girl out in me. He also dragged the raging slut out of me, but that's another scene :D

Ryker is an ex Army Ranger, still serving in Afghanistan but on a forced leave by his commanding officer. He's been contracted to help the Renegades with a tricky bridge explosion in the latest Bond film. Rachel is sent to pick him up at the airport, and the rest...is delicious.

"As a whole package, she was country-girl fresh and apple-pie sweet with a streak of Tonka-truck tough. Underneath, she hid a siren, a temptress, a woman who liked things edgy.
She fascinated him."

As with most of our returning military boys, Ryker is dealing with some pretty intense PTSD. Watching your best friends get blown to pieces right in front of your eyes tends to change a person. And Ryker's not dealing very well. But something changes when he meets the uber competent Rachel, a woman who is the little sister to the entire Renegades team, a do-it-yourself kinda girl who takes no crap from anyone, nurtures them like they're her children, and still manages to blow his ever-loving mind between the sheets.

”His insides warmed. Every pain in his body disappeared. Every shadow vanished. She chased all his demons away, and for a moment, he found relief.”

What a thought provoking statement that was for me.

"Just for a minute," he murmured, sliding his hands up her sides, around her back, savoring the feel of her little frame. Filling his head with her scent. Memorizing this moment, wishing he could use it later, when things got bad again. "I just need a minute."

It may sound cheesy, it might make you want to roll your eyes. But love conquers all. I firmly believe that. Your lover is your soft place to land, that person who gives you comfort and security. Nathan Ryker is in a dark place in life...returning from a war in which he lost most of his friends and brothers of the heart. Rachel gives him peace. Simple as that. And he recognizes that, even if Rachel balks at forming an attachment.

"Because I don't want permanent," she said, her annoyance leaking into her voice. Her gaze turned on him. "I don't want complicated. I don't want forever. I just want simple. No strings. I certainly don't owe you an explanation."

What a great female lead!!

One thing I wish we'd have gotten and didn't: I wanted more of both Nathan and Rachel's personal lives outside of their current project. Rachel's family life is in some kind of hella turnmoil, and aside from one quick scene, we don't get much closure or details. I wanted a confrontation with her ex, with her parents, and I wanted them to really work things out or at least to have Rachel able to blow off some steam. We got quite a bit more of Nathan, but just a glimpse of his past with regards to Troy and the way they grew up. I just wanted a little more detail there.

The SEX, as ever with this author, is mind blowingly hot. There are little bits of sweet/cute humor thrown in for levity, and man, is there some intensity of emotion in these pages!

"This is...just...I can't think rationally when you kiss me. God, we have to stop doing that."
"Baby, I can't think at all unless I am kissing you. We have to do that a lot more."

This is a must read. Even if you haven't read the previous two (which I still highly recommend) you can still read this without being lost.

I feel like I needed this book. Mediocre is the word from so many new authors, which is probably more my fault for reading so many books and losing my ability to let things slide. But Skye Jordan (Joan Swan) delivers. Fantastic book!

Rating Clarification: 4.5 explosive stars!

There is a certain expectation when you read a Skye Jordan book, particular with this series. You know going in that it's going to be HOT. And Ricochet delivered on that times ten.

But what really surprised me about this book is the gut-wrenching tenderness that I felt towards its characters. Sounds melodramatic, no? But I digress.

Nathan Ryker is falling into an abyss of despair and guilt. After a failed mission which almost wiped out his squad, his back in the States trying to get his head on straight. His old friend Troy invited him to LA as a blasting consultant for the Renegades.

Rachel Hart is still recovering from a betrayal so massive that she vowed to never again put herself out like that again:vulnerable. She's hiding her heartbreak well especially from her fellow renegades. But when chance offered her one reckless and passionate night with a stranger, she took it. The problem is that stranger isn't going to be a stranger for long because he's going to be working with her and he knows it. And Rachel has one steadfast rule: never sleep with a co-worker.

My thoughts...
Let me just say that this book exceeded my expectations. Yes, it was hot but this books also packs an emotional punch especially when it comes to Ryker's PTSD. It really helped that we were privy to Ryker's memory, his pain, his guilt. It was heartbreaking to watch him deal with it. My favorite part of the book is actually Ryker's interaction with his war buddies. I even shed a tear or two on that one particular scene with his best friend. It was emotionally satisfying to read about that part.

I also loved Rachel. I think she's a great heroine. The previous two books from this series have hot men but unfortunately, I never related to their heroines. More often that not, Lexi and Rubi annoyed the heck out of me with their issues. Rachel was different. She wasn't Lexi or Rubi who are supermodel gorgeous, she is her own brand of gorgeous. Her issues were more relatable and realistic.

I also enjoyed the progression of their relationship. Readers will know exactly when their arrangement changed from being casual into something more. But of course, both Rachel and Nathan didn't have it easy confronting their fears, which made for a great reading experience. This book balances the right amount of angst and sweetness with more than a healthy dose of hotness.

It's definitely my favorite in the series.

5 Amazing Stars!!

Ricochet is the third book in the Renegades Series and I must say with each book they seem to be getting HOTTER and SEXIER!

 photo ricochetcollage_zpsd397a765.jpg

I’ve decided that this one is my favorite. There was just something about Ryker that I loved. As much as he had a hardness about himself because of all he has gone through there was a vulnerability about him that really got to me.

Nathan Ryker…mmmm he was WONDERFUL! He was also sexy, hot, delicious, dirty, rugged and “un-fucking-forgettable.” He is alo a good friend of Troy and has been asked to be a consultant for the Renegades specializing in explosion. Ryker really needs this distraction. He is on leave from the Army after surviving a mission that some of his men did not. Dealing with the pain and guilt is suffocating him and he needs to get better, he needs heal.

“This is...just...I can't think rationally when you kiss me. God, we have to stop doing that." "Baby, I can't think at all unless I am kissing you. We have to do that a lot more."

Rachel, well she was the bomb! I just loved her. I adored her relationship with all the Renegade guys. I loved how she “handled” them. She definitely was the captain of that ship! ;) But Rachel is also dealing with some personal issues that has tainted her feelings about relationships. She has never really been adventurous or carefree when it came to relationships and sex but that is about to change.

”His insides warmed. Every pain in his body disappeared. Every shadow vanished. She chased all his demons away, and for a moment, he found relief.”

Here’s the gist and my thoughts on the story…

Rachel is sent to pick up Ryker at the airport but nothing is simple when it comes to LAX. So when she arrives much later than she should have and doesn’t find Ryker she heads to a bar to decompress. Once there she strikes up a conversation with a complete stranger which quickly heats up. Reeling from the day, completely turned on by this sexy stranger she decides to be reckless and take him up on a offer of one night of pure pleasure. Here comes the big BUT….this stranger is actually Ryker and she is about to break one of her golden rules (without knowing it) which is never to sleep with a co-worker.

Once everything is brought to the surface and she knows who he is, Rachel is beside herself but quickly regroups and decides she can handle the situation. Well, that was a good thought but one that faded quickly. Ryker understands her situation but isn’t willing to give her up quite yet. After a little convincing Rachel agree's to a plan so they can keep their relationship going…THANK GOD! These two together was HOT. Ryker provided us with many panty-melting moments and Rachel well she was quite the sex kitten!

Beyond all the sexy moments there were lots of tender moments that really squeezed my heart. Hearing about the way Nathan grew up, and watching him struggle with PTSD really broke my heart. When he went to see his war buddy, I lost it. That part was just so touching and emotional for me.

 photo pic_zps37aa92b5.jpg

I just really enjoyed this book a lot. I was able to easily relate to the characters and the build-up of their relationship didn’t seem rushed. They faced real fears and feelings which gave me just enough angst but didn’t cause too much anxiety. This one is definitely my favorite of the series.

Even though I didn’t get my epilogue I loved how the book ended and my mind wondered to their future and I got lots of warm fuzzy feelings. I am really looking forward to Troy’s story. I’m not sure if his is the last in the series but I hope we get a good dose of Ryker and Rachel as well!

Where was Ryker when I was single and traveling? Had he been around during that period in my life I would have stalked my local airport bar.

Rachel is the Renegade's secretary/office manager and has been assigned to pick up a close friend of the owners at the airport. The guy, Ryker, she is picking up is on a three week leave from active duty and has been hired to work on a special project for the Renegades.

After searching the airport for Ryker, whom she has never met, Rachel heads to the airport bar to wait for further orders from her boss on what to do next. Ryker is already at the bar and overhears Rachel explaining how she can't find him. Ryker decides not to tell her who he really is and uses the situation for his advantage. His ploy, to act as a total stranger, leads to a steamy one night stand in a hotel room.

ONLY ONE PROBLEM - When he shows up to work the next day he runs into Rachel. Who still has no idea who he really is and once she finds out the firecrackers explode. She doesn't mix her personal love life with work because it causes too many hurdles.
"That is the epitome of complication."

Ryker's a sexy but broken man. His childhood through adulthood as been filled with not ever feeling truly loved. Relationships aren't something he has ever even considered because of his upbringing. Even though he may not be relationship material he is still a good man; he's honorable, loyal, dedicated and honest.

Rachel's the backbone of the Renegades. She makes sure everything happens smoothly. Sisterly problems has left her distancing herself from her family. Even though she stays away from her family she has gained a new family with her coworkers. She's a doer, a fixer, a mediator, a nurturer and a giver. All qualities that make her a valuable employee and friend to the people she is now closest with in her life.
"Ricochet can cause a lot of damage."
Ricochet is the third book in the series but the first book I read in this series. I really appreciated that I was able to pick this book up with no prior knowledge of the other two books in the series and be able to read it with no trouble.

A steamy read for a hot summer day.

5 unbelievably explosive STARS

God, I'm in love with this series. I would read a hundred more books like this, just because they are all together fabulous...well written, sexy, funny, emotional....

Ricochet is the last one of the Renegades for now... there are boys left, so I'm hoping Ms. Jordan will be so kind as to deliver some more alpha-stuntmen goodness. I'll be waiting over here in my little corner of the world...eating triple chocolate ice cream.

“I can’t wait to get my mouth on you,” he whispered, kissing her temple, her hair. “Lick you everywhere … Thank God we have all night, because before the sun comes up, baby, I’m going to have tasted every…literal…inch of you.”

Master Sergent Nathan Jefferson Ryker is an Army Ranger and over the last sixteen years he has seen a lot of bad things. During his last tour something truly horrifying happened and he was sent home to get his head on straight. There is after all only so much a human being can take. His cure of choice is booze and women...yeah that always works.

While on leave his best friend Troy, one of the Renegades stuntmen, convinces him to take on a stunt job for the new Bond film the guys are working on. Thanks to his background with explosives Ryker could be helpful to blow up a bridge.

Guess who is supposed to pick him up from the airport. Oh, you know it...it's little miss organized and efficient.

“The mere feel of her lips sent a wash of relief through his entire body. She was better than any drug. Better than bottles of vodka. Better than mindless sex with any bar chick.
Everything about her was instantly familiar, yet amplified by his need.”

Rachel Hart is the heart of the Renegades. She loves her job; she is the secretary, the office manager, the go to girl in a crisis. For Jax and the boys Rachel is irreplaceable and that is why she is off limits for everyone. Not that she has any interest in a hook-up with the guys. She sees them as her brothers, but nothing more and some bad experiences in the past don't help much either.

“I don't want complicated. I don't want forever. I just want simple. No strings.
I'm offering you exactly what you want. No-strings, no-shame, no-limits, no-complications, wicked-good sex. Complete with a agreed-upon end date, a vow of secrecy, and an eight-thousand-mile anti-stalking guarantee when it's over.”

But that doesn't mean a girl doesn't have needs. When she is supposed to pick Ryker up from the airport some bad traffic and slight miscommunication ensue and they end up missing each other. To cool down and collect her poor nerves Rachel gets a drink at the bar and meets Nathan...a mysterious stranger.

*drum roll*

She takes him to a hotel. No, you don't say? She did? That's kind of awesome. Yes, very awesome and steamy as hell and all kinds of HAWT!!

“Jesus, that man really fucks. He's focused, absorbed, almost..."
"Obsessed?" Rubi supplied in the same hushed tone.
"Totally. It's enthralling. All encompassing. Like nothing else exists." She sighed, letting the delicious memory wash through her. "Un-fucking-forgettable."

Of course Nathan and Ryker is the same person, but only she doesn't know that. Came as a bit of a shock the next day when he turned up at her office. ;D Even bigger shock when she found out he knew who Rachel was all along.

This is where the fun begins...a little game of cat and mouse...mixed in with some hide and seek and of course my all time favourite... hide the nookie.

But Ricochet isn't just a book about romance and sex. It's about friendship, trust, loyalties and most importantly about Ryker's struggles with PTSD. He is a broken man and it is really interesting to see how he tries to keep his life together. Question is can he do it without help?

“I’m a fucking train wreck, baby, I admit it. But … I want to be better. I want to be the kind of man you need.”

Ms. Jordan's books are a guaranteed auto-buy for me from now on. There are no two ways about it. I love the world she created. The character feel real and very well developed. I fall in love with them every single time and I always have a hard time putting the books down.

Please give me more?! :D

**Renegades #1, Reckless Review
Renegades #2, Rebel Review

Rachel is the glorified secretary for the Renegades but she's oh so much more. And she wants oh so much more out of life. That includes lowering her inhibitions and allowing herself to enjoy things...things such as the handsome Nathan who she meets at the airport. Nathan's totally onboard with the idea but how can he tell her that he's really the guy that she was sent to pick up and that she is off limits?

There is so much more to Rachel than meets the eye. I thought we would be getting some airheadish chick just looking for a hot guy but Rachel's got it going on. She's on top of things, highly efficient and more importantly caring and nurturing. She makes sure all the guys are taken care of and then some.

I really liked Ryker but I was in no way prepared for his PTSD. Wow...what an amazing perspective to get what was happening to him from his POV. But there's more to Ryker than just that and as much as I loved how he was with Rachel, how he was with Carmello melted my heart and I literally cried. It was sooo emotional!

description

Right from the beginning, we get massive doses of yummy steaminess. Let's put it this way, Ryker delivers and you will not be disappointed. Ryker and Rachel are "explosive" together....okay, I had to go cheesy but it's true nonetheless. My favorite was when Ryker was being romantic at the beach, at sunset, with wine and chocolate....and ahem his little "gift".

The main drama is of course, Ryker and Rachel deciding if they are just going to indulge themselves for the three weeks he has until he has to go back to his battalion and keep it secret or just stay apart. But there are also some other dramas that keeps things interesting. Ryker's PTSD being one but Rachel also dealing with an ex-fiancé and problems with her sister. And naturally, there is another person who is also interested in Rachel and causes problems with Ryker.

I liked how things ended for the most part but I always feel a little cheated when we don't get more of them....like an epilogue. That would have been nice.

So there's no concrete information on who the next Renegade's story is but all bets are on Troy. I think the connection between him and Giselle sounds really intriguing and I really hope his is next.

4.5 And Loving Every Minute Of It Stars * * * * 1/2

Skye Jordan understands the whole man woman thing. She just does. She has developed a specific cadence...a way of drawing the reader in and believing the situations could somehow be real. How people at certain emotional points in their lives would make the mental leap to act differently... to seize moments... and go with their gut urges, balls to the wall. She makes you fall into the clutches of the scenario presented and takes you on a non stop ride to pure pleasure.

This is the third part of her Renegades series. The previous books all have the same group of characters yet it is not essential to read the first books in order to be captivated by this one. I would highly advise it, though, because this is a series which has some of the best sexual structure and creativity out there...with surprising depth of character arcs as well.

We have Rachel, the gal Friday... the hub which makes everything work gal of the Renegades, front and center. This is an elite team of stunt men...all hunky with each having unique personalities. They all love Rachel as their sister and are fiercely protective. Troy's best buddy, Nathan Ryker, is on break from his time in the Armed Forces... he is a career guy with 16 years in... an explosion expert... a Ranger. He was on forced leave to "get his head straight" after a very harsh experience in Afghanistan. The Renegades have been working to finish all of the stunts for the upcoming Bond movie. The production got in trouble with their last stunt team and the Renegades stepped in to finish it under budget. If they can pull this off, it will move the group to another level... they can expand; work higher profile projects and more. They need to do a huge explosion scene and rather than use computer manipulation, the most cost effective way to accomplish the goal is to actually blow up a real bridge. Troy reaches out to Ryker and convinces both Jax and Ryker to meet.

Rachel is sent on a Friday night to pick up this explosion expert at LAX during rush hour. If anyone has any television or movie knowledge... they will know the 405 freeway during this time is a parking lot...add the accidents that happened and we have a perfect storm of Ryker being pissed because no one is there to pick him up and Rachel fuming because she drove...stuck for hours on the freeway... and then the asshole isn't even there waiting for her after all that. Now in real life... we would have made sure we had all the cel numbers of the parties...so texting and calling would have fixed the situation.... but people.... this is book... and things need to be set up for us to believe... and Ms. Jordan does just that. So... both of these main characters are done... frustrated and just over it... they end up being in the international part of LAX because that is the only place to get a drink without going thru security.

Ryker is there and he has just had one of his unfortunate flashback occurrences... he is living with PTSD which comes either in his sleep in realistic nightmares or lately... if certain things trigger a feel or memory of what he endured recently with his team.... then he can think he is in the combat zone reliving the horror of his men being maimed in front of his eyes. He has loved his guys.... always been there for them and his heart and head is having serious issues with what happened last. He feels the guilt and responsibility, right or wrong and it is slowly killing him through his use of drink and mindless sex. Because only through those activities does he get a few moments of peace.

Rachel is exhausted... she is tired of being the get along gal of her family; letting everyone use her and expect her to just forgive and forget everything. She has a sister who is selfish to the 10th degree... capping this trait by actually cheating with Rachel's supposed soon to be husband. Rachel had dated, fell and then supported his medical dreams and career only to have him be banging her sister. The sister is back... the mom and dad want Rachel to just suck it up, be at the house with her and turn the other cheek. Well, Rachel is done. She is not going to be that girl anymore. She has made changes; got this new job in Los Angeles, seen how her new girlfriend Rubi has done the one night stand thing.... and by gummm Rachel is going to do it... she is going to do a "fuck and done".... if she can just get the nerve.... because as she is at this bar.... this man... this incredible piece of man candy is there for the taking ... maybe... if she can just figure out how to work it...

Ryker see Rachel... she is not his type... there is a sweet something about her...yet she is sending off possible yes vibes... they start the talk and banter... oh, she is smart and quick... and he is getting more interested and then he hears her on the phone pissed... he hears her leaving the voice mail which lets him know she was his pick up from Troy and the guys..... she really should be off limits but his dick is telling him no.... he tries to figure out all of this while the lustful connection gets stronger between the two of them... with her pushing him over the edge when she states she is looking for a one and done... Ding Ding Ding... his dick wins that round and he gives her his real name Nathan when she asks for it. They both decide to not let the suite for the missing pick up go to waste... and a tipsy fortified Rachel leads Ryker to the hotel to experience a freedom she never in her life ever had before.

I would like to take a moment here and share with you the fact... no, not opinion.... fact... Skye fucking Jordan writes the some of best sex scenes. Her ability to create a fever, a wanting and then deliver... without a doubt... every time, in every one of these books.... she gets it so right... you, as the reader, will practically come just by the reading of them alone. No kidding... I have no shame in my game... because one of the key components to reading these types of novels is ... are the love/lust/sex scenes done right... are they believable or cheesy... do they ring true and take you mentally to the moment ... or are you bored with all the phrasing and over the top showing off.
So when I tell you the flirting, lead up to and then actual event in the hotel suite is perfect... then please know I speak the truth.

Of course... they do the deed a few times with inner alarms going off because this coupling is very different from what either of them have experienced. He tried a couple of times to say something... she wanted to just be free and every time he did... she would stop him ... so he is thinking... her being the secretary... she will be in some nameless tall building doing paperwork for the team and he will be on site... they will never meet and she will be none the wiser...

As he goes to the trailer on the site...he is annoyed he can't stop thinking of her... but shoves it down to get on with meeting everyone. He steps in and who do you think is there with her back to him... yup... Rachel. There is the look of "please do not say anything" sent through her eyes to him and he obeys.
She.Is.Dying.
When they are able to get a moment away from everyone to complete waivers... she tells him he must not take this gig... turns out there are other elements in play which force his hand and heart... to standing firm... he is going to do this deal... and he is going to figure out how to get this fabulous woman back under him.

This story deals with so much which is current today. PTSD and how our men need to be willing to receive the help they need. It is not a sign of weakness as it is felt... it is an action of courage to work through it.
Other important day to day issues presented are how to handle workplace interactions - how they can be perceived by others especially if you are a woman. How it is important to allow yourself to fight for promotions... to not let others manipulate you ... and to act the same way when family tries to do the same thing.

Both of these characters went through serious arcs... and there were times when I wasn't sure I felt comfortable with how Ryker was handling all of it. But then I had an arc of my own while reading... I realized I was grateful to see everything for this couple wasn't all pretty and perfect... that there are times when things can get very very ugly with PTSD and by showing the realness of this awful condition, a huge educational service was provided in a sexy, hot entertaining book. That does not happen every day... and it should be applauded.

Now was everything perfect in this book... no.. and that was ok... because over all, I was there for this couple... I rooted for them and saw their growth as individuals first- then as a couple. It was terrific.

So, Skye Jordan, for me, is battling 1000. She has done 3 books about this team of stuntmen, their women and friends. She is on a roll and Troy is up next.

Oh, please... don't look at me that way... yes... I will be click, clicking at the turn of the minute it is available on Amazon when it is released... because I appreciate the whole man woman thing... and with Skye Jordan writing it in this Renegade series... It Is A Sure Thing.

Rachel Hart is a woman with a full, busy life in Los Angeles. She works for a stunt company called the Renegades. She is the secretary/manager, and does everything but the stunts. She keeps everything running smoothly, and works with a bunch of gorgeous men all day. She doesn't mix work & sex, so she stays a bit lonely at times.

 photo 8044e550-b0c4-4c34-a4cf-f0b469d3b61e.png

Rachel is so used to being the good girl, but really needs a hot hook-up lately. Being around beautiful man candy all day just makes her want sex even more. The closest she has been lately to male affection is a sexy, flirty phone call about a week ago with a guy named Ryker that Renegades was talking to about being their new explosives expert.

 photo aexplosive.gif

One afternoon at work Rachel's boss asks her to run an errand for him. Turns out it is picking Ryker up at the airport. Ryker & Rachel miss each other & happen to get their signals crossed, and don't find each other until later. They end up meeting & Rachel thinks Ryker is just some random hot guy. She decides this is the perfect time to let loose, and have that no strings attached one night stand she's been contemplating.

 photo 1906f98e-c890-4a67-ad0e-80b166f0c3f4.jpg

Rachel gets her amazing night of mind blowing sex with her yummy stranger, but then finds out soon after he's no stranger at all. Her ruggedly, sexy love machine is Ryker. To her horror Ryker is her Nathan. Turns out his full name is actually Nathan Ryker. She is angry & feels deceived. She wanted hot sex with no complications. And now things are very complicated for her when he shows up at her work.

 photo 54349ed0-2661-44c8-8016-b9a3ea65508d.jpg

Rachel is so worried the guys she works with will find out about her sleeping with Ryker. They are like family to her, and she values their opinion of her. She tries to stay away from Ryker, but they share a strong connection & insane chemistry she can't deny.

 photo 1aec75c5-8f15-41d1-a17e-a2526df6a5a5.jpg

Ryker has been in the army for about 16 years, and is an army ranger. He has lost most of his team, and suffers from PTSD. He has been in a bad place emotionally, and uses sex as therapy to clear his mind, and help his demons fade away. He keeps his life simple. All the sudden he is around Rachel, and finds himself longing for more, despite the obstacles in their way. The army is the only life he's known, and he is soon returning to Afghanistan, but he still finds himself growing closer with Rachel.

 photo 51768d3a-a67f-4632-97a2-c181731cd32b.jpg

These new feelings cause Ryker to panic, but he eventually fights for what he wants! As usual this was another fabulous book in the Renegades series! Skye Jordan knows how to deliver a sexy, alpha male, & OMG the sex was phenomenal!!! Ryker was just as delicious as Jax & Wes! Can't wait for more Renegades! I wouldn't even mind a book for Josh Marx! :D

 photo 5770bbb6-c9d6-4664-b48d-212211163f4d.jpg

-Damn, he was good-looking. He didn't have that movie-star quality that many of the Renegades did- first and foremost, Jax and Wes. Nathan was far more rugged, which only made him more attractive to her. He also kissed like the devil, had a body like granite, and used his hands like a god.

4 Emotionally Explosive Stars!

Nathan Ryker is a broken man after experiencing some real bad things in Afghanistan.
He tries to lose himself in alcohol and women but that “healing” is a short-term one so he constantly lives in the shadows. During a leave, his friends from the Renegades team ask him a favor than he can’t say no and he can’t even being to imagine that Rachel, Renegade’s office manager is about to touch his black soul.

description

Hurt after a bad breakup, Rachel is swearing off love so after a night with Nathan without even knowing that she’s going to have to work with him for the next days, she is settled for uncomplicated hookups. And Nathan is only up for that either so their no-strings-attached situation seems perfect at the beginning.
But when their feelings starts to get in the way, how does a women convinces a man that believes being incapable and undeserving of feeling, to give a change at love?

Storyline: I’m loving this series more with each book. This story was emotional, swoon-worthy and a complete page turner. Not to mention sexy as hell. So you have a great couple, some tears, swoon, heartwarming moments and sexy time. What more can you ask for?
Writing Style: Third person. Dual POV. Engaging, addictive and sexy.
Character Development: Nathan was an amazing broken hero. I loved how he grew up as a character and how much of a sexy alpha.-male he could be. Rachel, surprisingly, was a great heroine. I thought of her as a doormat at the beginning but she eventually came out strong and feisty and I really liked her. It was great to see more of the previous couples and I can’t wait to read the next installments.
Steam: HOT.

Rachel wanted a night of sex with a stranger. She didnt expect Ryker was the same guy working with the Renegades for their latest job.

I found this quite serious as both main characters had their issues. It dragged a little but the panty melting sex scenes more than made up for it. Also, Rachel was a better heroine than Rubi.

Fans of the series will enjoy this, and for readers who are new to this author, if you love reading about hot sex I think you will like this too. Personally, I liked it but to be honest the relationship felt more lust than love.

5 - "I won't promise I'll ever be perfect, but I can promise to keep trying." Stars!

You could say that I am ‘tight’ when it comes to dishing out a 5, with regards to stars on my book ratings. This is not because I am a meanie, but because I read a lot of books. A large number of them of a very high calibre, and as such you will see that I give a lot of 4.5 stars. To hit a 5, an author has to do evoke 3 things from me –

1) Keep my mind on the story and characters (I get distracted very easily)
2) Get my emotions involved (crying like a baby with this one) and
3) Offer me a story, I will remember that I read in 12 months time and who/what it was about (fickle I know, but when you read the volume of books I do, enjoyable doesn't always equate to memorable).

Skye Jordan ticked every one of those boxes and then some. I have loved the Renegades Series from its beginnings, but with Ricochet we are given a whole different level of writing, to quote the author -

My goal is to write each book better than the last.

And boy she sooooo has!

There are a lot of books in the romantic fiction genre at the moment, that feature servicemen and active and retired, that are dealing with the traumas of past battle and the absolute horror of conflict. PTSD and injuries (mental and physical) that result from seeing live combat are also heavily featured and for the most part dealt with extremely respectfully. Skye has managed to write the story of a man on the brink, fighting to hold it together, while struggling with guilt, flashbacks and a whole band of Demons in absolute heartbreaking detail. Master Sergeant Nathan Ryker is a man you will fall in love with, fall apart with, and put yourself back together again with as well.

Every pain in his body disappeared. Every shadow vanished. She chased all of his demons away, and for a moment, he found relief.

I think the reason that this story pulled me in so completely is that it is fresh, the storyline and the characters in the main aren’t unusual and the tropes are pretty mainstream, but the writing... Each and every plot point, action, reaction and conversation for me just felt clean, you could almost feel the level of concentration from the author in wanting to make sure that everything is ‘just-right’. The sex....OMG it is freaking hot, inventive and I went back and re-read pretty much every scene just to make sure I didn’t miss anything out.

”I’m offering you exactly what you want. No-strings, no-shame, no-limits, no-complications, wicked-good sex. Complete with an agreed-upon end date, a vow of secrecy and an eight-thousand-mile anti-stalking guarantee when it’s over.”

Rachel has figured in the previous two books in the series (Reckless & Rebel) as she is the glue that holds the Renegade Men together, sassy, full of attitude, she give the guys as good as she gets and takes no prisoners, when it comes to speaking her mind. Lacking in a little self-confidence and moving on from her own heartbreak, one night of no-strings sex is just what she is looking for to give her a little boost.

She wanted a man’s hands on her. A man’s mouth everywhere. A man’s body moving with hers.

Unfortunately the guy she hooks up with knows more about her than she does about him...

He kissed like a devil, had a body like granite, and used his hands like a god.

I think the most poignant and emotional points of the story for me were Nathan’s flashbacks, his reaction to them and how Rachel tried to help him, even when faced with his anger and denial. I really felt the suffering from both of them, and there is a point later on in the book where he meets up with an old team member where I had to stop reading for a time just to pull myself together enough to focus on the words.

Skye Jordan, with this book has given me everything I want from a story, absolute hands-down 100% excellence. You don't need to read the previous two books in this series, but I urge you too as they are also stellar reads. But you will also then see just how mind-blowingly wonderful this third instalment it.

Rachel is the glue that has been holding the Renegades together. Stress of the job, the hurt over her personal life and the overall eagerness to shed her skin for a while leads her to the arms of a stranger. But that stranger isn't a stranger at all. When the need for an explosives expert is needed, Troy calls in a favor from his old friend, Nathan Ryker. On leave from the military after a tragic event left him a tad bit more broken than he was before; Ryker knew burying himself in women was the only peace he would find. But one night with Rachel proves to be not near enough, now working side by side he is determined to get his fill of this sassy woman before he has to deploy yet again.

Forget online dating and bars ladies... it appears the airport is the it place to meet men.

Skye Jordan's Renegades Series is one of my favorites for a number of reasons. Not only does she deliver hot alpha males and fierce females, but these reads are scorching hot. Stock up on batteries kind of hot. Ryker was my favorite type of hero. A broken asshole that talked dirty and fucked you senseless. There is just something that draws you into his character so completely. A military man that has seen and had to endure doing things that most couldn't fathom - but somehow still having an inner will to fight through the darkness. A man that although might struggle with his feelings, is willing to fight once he accepts them.... swoon

Screenshot_2

Every second of this story held my attention and just like the two books before it, I was in heaven while reading. We get a few pieces of information on Troy (who is next up for his own book) and from the sound of what he endured in his past and where his story might lead, I can already tell we are going to be in for one helluva treat.

I can't exactly put my finger on what is different about this series from others out there... maybe it just the writing or maybe the characters feeling more mature than most... but there is something that just makes this series stand out. If you have been looking for a hot read that is different than the same old romance, then check out this series. Each book focuses on a set of characters and is complete so you get no cliffhanger endings - and with each new book you get to revisit the characters that initially hooked you.

"You were born to be naked and beneath me."

Rachel is part of the Renegade team, she keeps all the men in line and makes sure things get done around the office. Trying out her new plan to become a new woman, she lets her hair down and enjoys a night with a sexy stranger, little does she know the sexy stranger is no other than the man who is here to help get their project out of the red… Ryker.
She was exactly what he needed, when he needed it.

Ryker is in need of a distraction, after the loss of his team, his men and friends, he was sent away to get his head back in straight, and after months of spiraling and self destruction he comes face to face with his one chance of peace, Rachel. Is it fair to use her to help him go on with his days, no… does he care, not at all.
"I'm offering you exactly what you want. No-strings, no-shame, no-limits, no complications, wicked good sex. Compete with an agreed-upon end date, a vow of secrecy, and an eight-thousand-mile anti-stalking guarantee when it's over."

Ryker is a broken man, denying the pain and the suffering he feels, pushing it deep down, can he really keep things causal with Rachel when she is the first person who made him feel alive ??? Can Rachel really keep her heart out of the loop, when he brings to life her fantasies …

Ricochet is the third book in the Renegades series, and this took a different turn from the other two books, we aren't surrounded by the past characters as much being in a separate location, but also the feelings of the book, this time it is the man who is broken and it's up to Rachel to wish him to get the help he needs. Ryker was an dirty talking alpha male who did what he wanted regardless of the consequences. There is no denying I love tormented alpha men, and Ryker for the most part fit the bill, Rachel never had a chance to refuse this man. It was another enjoyable read told from both POV's, it was hot and emotional.

Title: Ricochet
Series:Renegades #3
Author: Skye Jordan
Release Date: July 14 , 2014
Rating:4.5 stars
Cliffhanger:No
HEA:

Ricochet is an insanely hot book that's sure to get your heart pumping and your blood pressure rising. It turns up in the heat-in a good way, of course. It's been a while since I read the first book in the series but this book almost immediately sent me back to that place of pure book excitement that I felt before. Skye Jordan has a special talent for writing highly erotic books that have more than just simply sex. This book has multilayered relatable characters and a story that is sure to grab your attention. I couldn't get enough of this couple. Ryker was one badass, special ops, dominant yet vulnerable man. And Rachel-sassy, tough yet sweet, and intelligent. They're great as individuals, but together they are perfection. Her sarcastic humor and take no bullshit attitude is refreshing and comfortable to him and something in her eyes tells him she’s dealing with some harsh realities from her past as well. When sparks fly, and the dust settles, will they have the determination to beat the odds against them?

Ryker is home on leave and he's called to help consult for the Renegades on a big explosion they have planned. Rachel is the sweet yet strong secretary who keeps everyone and everything organized and running smoothly. She's recovering from a huge betrayal. He's recovering from a traumatic experience overseas that changed his life forever. They're not in a very stable place in their life and not looking for romance or emotional connections. He uses sex to bury his overwhelming feelings of guilt and stress. She isn't a one night stand kind of girl. But maybe she could make this exception...just this once. This stranger she runs into in the airport bar is hot and edgy and she'll never see him again. What could be the harm?

Maybe it would be the fact that she will actually see him again. Daily. And the temptation he offers is too much for a girl like her to refuse for long and stay sane. And he's pretty much in the same place. He's done flashy and temporary women in the past, but the flash and burn wear off, and pretty soon, he's sinking back into flashbacks and nightmares. But Rachel has a calming effect on him that lasts way past all their scorching hot sexual encounters.

His insides warmed. Every pain in his body disappeared. Every shadow vanished. She chased all his demons away, and for a moment, he found relief.

Ryker had to finally face his fear: confronting and accepting his past trauma.

Rachel had to move on from the betrayal that's still affecting her.

Will these two find the courage to put their heart on the line?

This book gets an enthusiastic recommendation from me. The steam was unimaginably good! And the humor, the great alphas blowing things up, the tantalizing story with the perfect ending-I am now officially hooked. What more could you ask for?

I think I'm ready for this author to write a new series. I like her writing, and her books are hot and the stories are good, but I'm just ready for something different from her.

Also, one of my pet-peeves is when the heroine keeps running from the guy through the whole book. So that didn't help :(

I would still recommend this book because it was a good story and HOT :)

5 Crazy Good Renegade Stars

Ricochet marks not only the third book in Skye Jordan’s Renegade Series but my new favorite from this author. This series provides excellent writing, engaging plots, hot alpha males, feisty heroines and a group of characters you’ll come to love. Book three gives us all of those elements plus the depth of vulnerability and emotion stemming from the PTSD suffered by active military men and women.

PTSD is a delicate issue and can often be dramatized in ways where it seems overdone. Skye Jordan however wrote this powerful, large than life hero suffering from such issues with such honesty and purity. Nathan Ryker’s intensity jumps right off the pages. His story pulls at the reader’s heart. The rawness of his character delivered to us by the honest prose of this author shines vulnerability and a likeness to Ryker that cannot be ignored. Ryker’s a man you want to help, hold, and love because he’s been alone for so long. His very presence on the pages stirs you to life with not only physical look. He makes your heart skip a beat with his intense stares as if he’s seeing into Rachel’s very essence.

His love interest, Renegade connoisseur and secretary, the feisty and loveable Rachel Hart gives the reader a strong, witty, beautiful woman to also lust after. Rachel proves to be the glue that holds the men of the Renegades together. She’s a caretaker, a healer. She’s also a salve to the dark powers slipping through the cracks of Ryker’s mind. This heroine reminds me why I love strong female leads. A strong female lead withstands controversy with grace and dignity. She yells when she’s mad. Her vulnerability comes across as truth in Rachel’s the fear of betrayal. She’s honest when explanations are expected even if when there are certain truths she’s not willing to tell. Rachel exceeds all expectations of a great heroine.

The secondary cast of characters returns and proves to be just as lovable in this explosive story. My favorite part of this: the in depth look we received of Troy. His book is up next and the protective nature and overall kindness in him really has me looking forward to his story.

Ryker and Rachel’s story is hard. They’re journey isn’t all roses and unicorns. They both have issues, Ryker’s a bit deeper than Rachel’s, that need addressed and dealt with individually. But they will capture your hearts from the very beginning. Ryker and Rachel gave me one the hottest sex scenes I have ever read. Skye Jordan writes passion in such a way that isn’t overly dramatic but the rawness in the characters, the intensity of the scene, the intrigue to know more of their story leaves you absolutely breathless. Her writing makes it easy to slip into the Renegade world seamlessly and be a part of their group. It’s smart and engaging. This series comes highly recommended to readers who want hot passion, great writing, extremely likeable characters, and action-packed plots and conflict. While this could be read as a stand alone I highly recommend you read the series in order as to not miss any of the great characters. But whether you want to read as a standalone or part of the group there is no doubt Ricochet is must read romance.

Favorite Quotes:

"As a whole package, she was country-girl fresh and apple-pie sweet with a streak of Tonka-truck tough. Underneath, she hid a siren, a temptress, a woman who liked things edgy. She fascinated him."

"Damn he was so good looking. He didn't have that movie-star quality that many of the Renegades did..."

"I'd ask if you're okay, but you're the fucking man of steel, so I know you're fine."

***WARNING: THIS BOOK MAY REQUIRE FREQUENT FANNING OF YOUR LADY BITS***

Ricochet by Skye Jordan (Joan Swan) is the third book in the Renegade series. All the books in the series share supporting characters but Ricochet works fine as a stand-alone. Although sequential, this series isn’t one where previous events are continually alluded to, making it easy to just jump right in. For readers that like to read series books in order, start with Reckless (a favorite of mine!).

Sparks fly immediately between Nathan and Rachel when they meet at the airport bar. Rachel thinks Nathan is just a random, insanely hot stranger, and is perfect for a no strings hook-up. Unfortunately, Nathan isn’t an anonymous stranger at all, he’s actually in town to work as the newest consultant to Renegades, the stunt company Rachel works for. But Nathan, realizing that Rachel will likely cut things off when she finds out his identify, keeps quiet and things get all kinds of steamy.

“Damn, you are such a sweet surprise.”

He lowered his head and suckled her lips. Stroked them with his tongue. Nibbled on the bottom one until her fingers dug into his arm, and she groaned. He moved the hand on her thigh higher. And higher. So warm. So soft. “You feel like heaven,” he whispered against her cheek. “Bet you taste like candy.”

Her hand released, flexed, released, and she pressed her pelvis against his hip, rubbing on him like a cat. One he wanted to pet all over.

“I can’t wait to get my mouth on you,” he whispered, kissing her temple, her hair. “Lick you everywhere.” The more he talked, the closer she pressed. By the time they got to the hotel, she’d be dripping. “Thank God we have all night, because before the sun comes up, baby, I’m going to have tasted every…literal…inch of you.”

Unfortunately, when Rachel finds out Nathan’s true identity, she’s less than happy. With both characters having issues, Rachel’s related to a bad break-up and Nathan's to his time in the military and PTSD, there’s a lot of obstacles to overcome before this couple get their HEA…

I’m a big fan of the Renegade series and Ricochet just cemented that. I loved Nathan as the wounded warrior hero. I loved Rachel as the sassy (but sexy underneath) heroine. These two were HOT HOT HOT together. At around 11% in, I wasn’t sure if should keep reading, stop and post steamy quotes, or message all my friends that Ricochet was going to be a “MUST READ”. I was so excited reading it, I could barely contain myself =)

“Nathan?” she was breathless, gripping his waist, pushing off him to move her hips into his hand. “Can you fuck me first? I…can’t wait.”

He leaned in, angled his arm, and pushed deeper. Rolled his fingertips against her front wall, searching for that little well, but couldn’t find it before the van slowed again to take a turn. “How do you want it?”

“Want what?”

He grinned. “Want me to fuck you when you get to the room. Against a wall? On a table? A counter? Bent over the bed? What?

“God…” she breathed, “I…don’t know, I don’t care. Whatever you like, I just need it.”

The writing was solid, the story was well thought out, and the steam factor was sizzling and very well done. This was a five star read for me almost all the way through. I’m not sure I loved how the story wrapped up, but overall, I loved Ricochet, I love this series and I love this author. Joan Swan writing as Skye Jordan just does not disappoint. I’m so excited to see what’s next in this series. I’m guessing we may get Troy’s story but that’s just a guess for now!

A super sexy 4.5 STARS!

Four explosively hot stars!

What do you get when you put a hot military stud suffering from major PTSD with a girl who has a major "gotta fix it" complex? A FUCKHOT storyline, to start.

Ryker, close childhood friend to fellow Renegade Troy, is on a 2 month leave from the Army. An explosives expert, he's been consulted by the Renegades to design and implement a bridge explosion for an action movie. Ryker doesn't pass up the opportunity to pass his mandatory leave with what he loves most....blowing up stuff! Almost beats the other way he's been passing his time lately...fucking a different chick every night. It keeps the demons at bay...

Rachel, Renegades secretary, has enjoyed the sexy flirtation over the phone with this new contractor Ryker. When asked to pick him up at the airport during rush hour traffic, she's not pleased...but she does it.

Ryker waits at the airport for two hours before giving up on his ride promised him. Deciding to have a drink in the airport bar, he saddles up to a hot brunette...they start to chat...he's turned on...she's up for a no strings night of hot sex...he figures out she's his ride but keeps quiet...just for one night.

Until the next day when Ryker aka "Nathan" steps into Renegade offices....

Ricochet is a hot little gem packed with a tough heroine, damn hot sex, and a damaged hero you just gotta see fixed. It's got it all. I've enjoyed every book in this series and I love catching up with the past characters (Jax, Wes) as each book comes along.

Can Rachel stay strong to her steadfast rule of no fooling around with Renegades staff? Can she help herself from succumbing to her innate desire to save a tortured hero? Withstand his sexual chemistry?

Read it and find out...

And I thank you,

4.5 scorchingly beautiful stars

I love this book! Freaking love it! It’s fun, it’s sexy, there is fantastic chemistry, some real heart and wonderful heart-clenching drama and, oh yeah, did I mention – it’s absolutely steaming hot! Featuring two characters that I love to bits, this is definitely my favourite of the series so far.

Rachel is the secretary/office manager/woman-behind-the-men of the Renegades – a gorgeous bunch of adrenaline junky stuntmen. She loves her job, and even though Jax (as the boss) has a “hands off Rachel” rule for his boys, it doesn’t really matter, as she sees them all as big brothers, and the dynamic between them is fantastic.

Nathan Ryker is a soldier in the Army on forced leave from Afghanistan. Struggling to deal with the aftermath of a viciously brutal attack which left all of his team maimed or dead, he has been on a man whoring bender in an effort to numb the thoughts constantly running through his mind, but agreed to travel to LA to help out his best friend Troy (one of the Renegades) with an explosive stunt.

Already having the day from hell, Rachel is sent to the airport to pick up the explosives expert for the big new stunt, but she can’t find the much–lauded Ryker, so she heads to the airport bar for some drinks to calm herself down. There she meets an absolute hottie who introduces himself as Nathan…… do you see where we’re going with this?

Still reeling from a horrible betrayal, Rachel has sworn off relationships and decided to embrace her inner slut. She's been on the lookout for someone to share an anonymous night of hot, no-strings sex with, and this could be the guy! But while Rachel is oblivious to Ryker's identity, he knows exactly who she is and is strongly attracted to her. And when they start talking and the chemistry starts to zing, neither of them can resist the opportunity of a night together, and OH. HOLY. GOD!

“I can’t wait to get my mouth on you,” he whispered, kissing her temple, her hair. “Lick you everywhere … Thank God we have all night, because before the sun comes up, baby, I’m going to have tasted every…literal…inch of you.”

Oh yeah, baby, Ryker is all kinds of hot, and he makes good on his promise – and then some! The two of them share an incredible night together, and actually have a real connection, but Rachel leaves in the morning with the two of them expecting to never see each other again.

So she gets the shock of her life when Nathan shows up at work the following morning, introduced as Ryker. Awkward! I really like the way this all plays out. Don’t go getting all judgemental and angry at Ryker for not telling her who he was. Maybe it was wrong of him to hide his identify, but I could understand his reasoning, and it gives them a fantastic starting point for the rest of the story.

“I’m offering you exactly what you want. No-strings, no-shame, no-limits, no-complications, wicked-good sex.”

Ryker is not prepared for his one night with Rachel to be one night, and so he drags her along on site with him as he sets up for the big stunt. The two of them are living in close proximity, working together day after day, and the chemistry is off-the-charts! Rachel knows that any involvement with Ryker is going to get her heart involved so she tries to stay away but I, for one, cannot blame her for her inability to keep her hands (and more important body parts) off him.

“It’s exhausting,” he said. “Isn’t it?”
Her gaze slid to his mouth, and just that little spark of heat in her expression created the fire low in his gut. “What?”
“Resisting.”

OMG, Skye Jordan has ramped up the hotness, and this book absolutely steams!

“You were born to be naked and beneath me.”

The first scene alone had me fanning myself madly, but each subsequent encounter adds more and more to the story as the intensity between them only grows, and real emotions start to get involved.

“His insides warmed. Every pain in his body disappeared. Every shadow vanished. She chased all his demons away, and for a moment, he found relief.”

I love this book! And OMG, the feels!!! Their coming together is a real push-and-pull with Rachel still determined to protect her heart, and Ryker’s military experiences developing into full-blown PTSD. They have some huge obstacles in their way and their battles are emotional and heartbreaking, and they both do and say things they shouldn’t, but they can’t stay away from each other and there are moments when they are together and it’s absolutely magic!

“I’m a fucking train wreck, baby, I admit it. But … I want to be better. I want to be the kind of man you need.”

But the back and forth never annoyed me. I could understand where they were both coming from, and it never reached the point where I thought either of them were being stupid. Ryker’s battles, in particular, broke my heart. The man is broken and hurting, and what he’s been through, and all that he goes through in this book brought tears to my eyes and made me want to hold on to him and not let go (among other things). And it all leads up to an exciting and dramatic finish that had my heart pounding but left me with a huge grin on my face and hugging my kindle.

I loved Rachel and Ryker’s story! It’s paced well, it flows beautifully, and the character development is fantastic. Mixed with the heart-pounding romance, the brilliant dynamics and, of course, the fact that it’s hot-as-all-fuck, this is a great read!

Bravo, Ms Jordan! You’ve done a great job with this one! I’m looking forward to Troy’s story coming up next.

4.5 stars.

I regretted this the moment I was a quarter way through the book and yes, I know this probably places me at the rank bottom about my feelings about erotica comprising a bastard of a male protagonist, hell-bent on self-destruction by alcohol and screwing as many women as he can and a jaded woman done with relationships. Yet, I tried to struggle through, skimming when I could, searching for some redemptive part of the story that would help me go on.

I failed, miserably.

But with every review that helps to refine my own tastes in what I want to read, I've always known that hot (but shallow) sex has never been enough without character depth or at least, with characters that I like and can root for together. Physical compatibility ranks low for me at this point in time, since most male protagonists meld together as one nameless, faceless character with six-pack abs, chiselled features and a height that rarely goes under 6 ft. To be even cruder, physical compatibility, when watered down, is still a basic matter of ramming pointed object A into empty hole B, which all characters get done.

I'd come into 'Ricochet' expecting some kind of raw, emotionally-packed drama of a damaged man whose time with a woman helps change things. But I got an utterly selfish arse instead, who sets out to deliberately deceive the female protagonist so he can get yet another one-night stand in, even though he was 'fresh' from screwing so many other women in the last city he was in.

The push-pull continued, with some bumps here and there with Ryker generally being unapologetic for his horrifyingly reprehensible behaviour without seeking help for it...while knowing well enough that the cracks in his head can't be solved by drinking and fucking. But what bothered me most is that with this adamant belief that he is too far gone for therapy, Ryker has a manipulative streak that allows him to continue with a heroine who is somewhat sympathetic enough to forgive him for his indiscretions and gives him too much leeway up until the point where you know it's merely a matter of time before she gets burnt.

With this trajectory in mind, the ending is predictable to a fault and what really remains is the extent to which grovelling happens. When it finally comes, I cringed at the pathetic, embarrassing attempt and felt that Ryker and Rachel were seriously better off separately. There isn't an immediate cure for PTSD obviously, as 'Ricochet' shows, but this happens too little, too late for me when all that's left in my mind is a male characters who shouldn't really be let off the hook so easily because he is, for me at least, beyond redemption.
