Jon and his adoptive Deaf/Blind father Ur find themselves tangled up by the life of a cop (Jake) wanted for corruption and murder. Ur digs deep into his experience to help Jake not only clear himself but heal his shattered marriage. An assassin, hired by a drug cartel, follows Jake to Chet and Evelyn's mountain ranch. Another emotional roller coaster as Jack Rose carefully weaves a story of humor, drama and inspiration.
I really wanted to like this one because it’s the continuing story of “The Cedar Post” & “Tears of Joy” (which I happily gave 5 stars despite editing mistakes), but sadly, this one was a bit disturbing to me on how 3 of the characters died with violence… (although tastefully written overall). Yes, there is evil in the world we should be aware to protect innocence from, but still… I couldn’t stomach it.
It wasn’t a far-fetched story, and seemed well thought-out. I enjoyed some of the adventure, but the writing wasn’t thoroughly edited & often had gaps or missing parts in the clarity of writing… as if it was hastily completed. I do appreciate the principles of truth taught throughout & especially the author’s written connection with the deep & pure love-story of Jon & Joy… it’s enchanting!
