Who doesn’t love a dreamy getaway to Scotland with a rich whisky heir set in an idyllic Scottish castle. Max and Rowan are complete opposites and due to Rowan’s financial situation she agrees to a fake marriage with Max. This is a sexy steamy romance that is so well written that you get so invested in the storyline. I thoroughly enjoyed this one! I received a complementary copy from the author.

Were to being with this book first I really hope this is the first in a new series. Beatrice has given us a great story with this. Rowan is a self employed writer, trying to gain full-time work on a magazine writing articles. She's hardworking and loves her gran and her mum, with her gran in a home now due to her dementia. With escalating costs and her mum working double shifts to cover medical bills Rowan decides to try to uncover the truth behind Castle Dunmarach, the distillery and the now returned new Laird. Max really doesn't want to return to his home at the castle, but with his parents death and his now inheritance what other option does he have. Finding out the clause in the will and the fact that The Trust could take ownership if he can't for fill the terms his options are limited. When he catches a young woman climbing out of a tree onto his grounds his certainly isn't happy. Until she opens her mouth and her looks at her and realises she won't be intimidated by his harsh voice. Can they help each other. Will Rowan breakthrough his grumpy demeanour. Will hidden secrets come back to haunt Max. This is a story that really does just keep giving I didn't want to put it down. Mrs. MacPherson is a perfect character who sees everything and knows when to act on it. I really can't wait for more from this series

Our rich, brooding, stoic, and pragmatic laird has met his match in a no-nonsense, shoot-from-the-hip, starving writer. In order to save his inheritance, he needs a wife and she needs money to help her family. The tension is high right from the start, and the story just unspools page by page at a pace that will leave you saying, “one more chapter,” into the wee hours of the morning.
Relatable characters with some traumatic pasts and the need to belong and feel supported had me sucked in. This was a quick read for me, as I just didn’t want to put it down!

Wow! What a fantastic read! Beatrice Bradshaw has absolutely outdone herself with Hired By My Rich Highland Husband – hands down her best yet! It has everything 💰💪💍🏰💥🌶️🎹🔥💖💫 and more!
I adored every bit of this story. The lead characters, Max and Rowan, were simply wonderful. Max, the brooding whisky heir with his sharp suits and serious demeanour, and Rowan, the spirited journalist with her chaotic energy and Doc Martens, made the perfect opposites-attract pairing. Their chemistry sizzled from the start, and watching their relationship develop from a calculated business arrangement to something deeply emotional was an absolute delight.
The supporting characters added so much charm to the story as well, fitting perfectly into the Highland setting and adding layers of warmth and humour. Each one felt authentic, and their interactions brought Dunmarach Castle to life. Speaking of the setting – wow! The Scottish Highlands were beautifully described, and I could almost feel the cool air and see the rugged landscape. I even found myself looking up the A87 on a map to imagine where the castle might have been located – approximately three hours from Glasgow, perhaps somewhere I’d go for a drive to find one day?
The romance itself was paced perfectly. The spice was there, but it was done just right – well-timed and meaningful, adding depth rather than distraction. And I have to mention that unforgettable scene involving a grand piano – unforgettable in all the best ways! The emotional journey Rowan and Max took had me fully invested, and when the tension finally reached its peak, it was oh-so-satisfying.
I couldn’t get enough of this story! If only life worked like this in reality... maybe I'd have my own Highland (or Lowland!) husband by now. Until then, I’ll just keep dreaming thanks to Beatrice Bradshaw's beautifully crafted love stories.

I love a good grumpy/sunshine story and add a bit of a Scottish Rogue and I’m all in! And this book did not disappoint. I found the characters totally engaging and did not put the book down until I was finished.
I loved Rowan. She is the kind of person you want as a BFF. She is brave, unapologetically sarcastic and sassy, funny and has an incredibly strong sense of social justice. She is caring and loyal to the ones she loves, yet has a vulnerability that is hidden from everyone but those who know her best.
Her meet cute with Max has all her sass and brashness on full display and the scene is the absolutely perfect way to meet the controlled and grumpy Laird of the castle.
Max is an emotionally unavailable grump who comes by that unavailability for many reasons. He has been forced into a situation that requires him to marry and Rowan has literally fallen into his path at just the right time.
And so begins a fake relationship that becomes not so fake. At one point Max sees their differences as her fire to his ice, and he’s not wrong. But even a small flame will eventually be able to melt an iceberg if it is persistent, and Rowan is definitely that. Over time she manages to find the cracks in his emotional walls and reveal the soft and loving heart within.
Of course their journey to a HEA is not without its difficulties. But ultimately, they find their way there with some help from the supporting cast in the book. I did find the leap from their mutual declaration of love to the final trust committee meeting a bit jarring and would have liked a little more detail of the happenings in between, but it did not detract from my enjoyment of the story. And the epilogue was the perfect wrap up for the story.

If Max Drummond doesn’t marry by his 30th Birthday or lose the lot ,his family’s Estate , the distillery and the last piece of his brother’s legacy. Rowan MacKay steps in out of her depth into a big heap of bother. Oh brother! She’s on her uppers and needs a story,so she thought it a good idea to break into Max’s castle ,you know like you do …Well she has her grandmother’s care bills mounting as she’s battling dementia , a pay check away from disaster is Rowen so she’s in search of the story of his castle. So what’s a girl to do ? Sell her soul and it’s a high price to pay to this devil so astute in a tailored suit. He’s a bit of a brute all told . No emotions a cold hard contract to last for one year he said. A year like this she’ll dread but she’s made her bed…Rowan is all Doc Martins and Max sharp suits . Doesn’t take long before they’re each in pursuit of the other though . The sizzling tension in Phew what a scorcher ! A lot rides on this happy pact. So they best oughta keep it business or else they might crack the facade the charade and all. Then the Laird of his castle Dunmarach will end up without a moat to …well whatever you do in moats or float your boats. Do they have loos in castles as old as bis? Of course they must have plumbing at least…Rowan is a writer ,I wonder what she wanted to write before her plight and does he invite her to do what she loves . It’s plain to see that Beatrice Bradshaw loves her Scottish Highland roots as she always gives us the pleasure ,the treasure the hoots and all. The passion and the fashion of her awesome descriptors immerses us so well ,in every dell. With her fine writing we all have a ball! Love everything she’s written . I can honestly say with her storytelling she blows me away every single book . Her writing and wit there’s no other like it .its great! Awesome! A most pleasurable read!

I was hooked from the first chapter when Maxwell Drummond came growling to life. Max and Rowan agree to a one-year marriage of convenience that’s strictly a business arrangement so that Max can retain his family’s inheritance and Rowan can help her family. But it’s clear from the very first meeting, when she sneaks onto his estate, that the sizzling chemistry between the feisty FMC and the grumpy MMC is never going to allow these two to just be “business partners.”
“Rowan couldn’t shake the feeling she’d signed a contract with a well-dressed, handsome devil. But hey, at least hell came with free central heating.”
Beatrice Bradshaw writes a fantastic slow-burn, angsty romance between two well-rounded characters full of depth and emotion. There’s some great tension and flirting before Rowan and Max finally give in to their feelings—and when they do, it's worth the wait!
“…since this is a business deal, I can’t. And I won’t. As I told you, I won’t touch you unless you want me to.”
The author does a fantastic job of using the surrounding setting to great effect, and the Scottish Highlands is the perfect backdrop for this opposites-attract romance.
This book is a steamy contemporary romance that you can read in a day – and I did! I couldn’t put it down. The writing style keeps you turning the pages, and the cast of characters and family drama add depth to the story.
This book is the perfect blend of emotional romance, angst, spice, and touches of humour. Highly recommend and looking forward to more!

I had a spectacular time reading this one. It was the perfect blend of humor and swoony romance with a lovely Scottish flair to boot. If you are looking for heartwarming characters that will stand up for themselves, Beatrice has always got you covered and this book is no exception.
I found myself laughing out loud countless times while reading this one. It truly was a simply wonderful and amusing time to read. One of my favorite funny lines was "Mr. Darcy's emotionally constipated Scottish cousin" to describe Max. It is both hilarious and a wildly apt description. If that sounds up your alley, I highly recommend this book.
My only criticism of this book is quite small. The perspective of this book did feel a bit odd to me. While always in the third person, it did ping pong between mentioning internal thoughts and perspectives of Max and Rowan a lot. This made it a smidge hard to follow at times, but it was overall not a major issue.
I adore the dynamic between Max and Rowan. They are on surprisingly even footing and butt heads in the best way possible. Seeing them grow and develop was highly refreshing and exactly what I'm looking for in my ideal romance.
This book does contain a few spicy scenes that weave into the plot. If spice is not your thing, this book is probably not for you.

I was instantly drawn to this book by its super bright front cover. It really stood out, but didn't give too much away....and I was so intrigued by the title.
This is the second book that I've read by this author, having read and loved Love In The Scottish Fall Forest, last year, I knew that I was in for another exciting trip to the Highlands for the weekend.
I absolutely love a good fake relationship story and I couldn't wait to meet our couple and dive on in!
Max was the perfect grumpy MMC only really interested in keeping the family inheritance - Rowan bounds in in her Doc Martin's and provided the perfect balance to Max's grumpiness.
I loved how different these two were, almost a given that things would never work for them - but it's just a contract to marry for a year, just business....right!?
Well, this was a wild ride for the pair but we could see the sparks flying and it was pretty obvious how things would play out in the end - and I was all there for it!
This had me hooked from start to finish - it was so easy to read and become immersed in and I raced through the pages devouring every second.
I wonder whether this might become another series or not?
Either way, I'm looking forward to my next read by this author soon.....

I enjoyed this. I adore fiction set in Scotland. This didn't disappoint! It delivered and checked all the boxes. The premise was enjoyable and I do love a marriage of convenience!
The story was written well and was very descriptive!!! The spicy scenes were written well also. The book flows well and there were no issues at all.
I loved the characters. Max and Rowan are our MCs and they were fantastic. The bounced off each other perfectly. Their banter was hilarious. I was a wee bit disappointed that we didn't get Max in a kilt! Rowan's wee Gran though. How she made me cry. I adored that wee lady even though she had a smaller role. Everyone else was perfect and worked well.
The book was written in third person from Max and Rowan's POVs. This always works really well in a romance novel. I like to understand both characters and their goings on

A: I'm Scotland born and bred - still living there. My own wedding was a small ceremony. The best wedding I attended was my cousin's in 1994. He has a ceilidh as his party! It was a great wee night!

I loved Rowan and Max together, although they were complete opposites of each other, Rowans Sass, wit and general gumption gave Max a run for his money, and Max with his grumpiness, and unwillingness to let someone in, gave for some great moments and the chemistry between them lept off the page. With a storyline that flowed so well and allowed the relationship to develop into something more than the fake relationship that started their journey together. However, they did frustrate me no end at times!!
Although this is a romance novel, what Beatrice Bradshaw does so well is taking us as the reader on an emotional journey with the characters that has us rooting for them, crying with them and cheering for them when they eventually give in, and the spicy/steamy scenes were just right, and well timed to give us what we need!!
This is my 2nd book by this author, and I really need to start reading the others cause I can't get enough of the Scottish Highlands and Men - coming from Scotland I would like to see where they are hiding 🤣

I stayed up reading this book. It was fantastic. Marriage of convenience is one of my favorite tropes in romance. Rowan is an aspiring investigative journalist who is looking for the next big story that will finally change her luck. Max is forced back to Scotland after the death of his parents. At the reading of the will, he learns he has to marry before his 30th birthday or his family’s legacy will go to a dispassionate trust. When Rowan trespasses on his family’s property, Max offers to give her access to his family’s history and compensation for a year of marriage to satisfy his father’s will.
This is a romantic comedy but it deals with some heavier topics like grief, survivor’s guilt and others. These themes are handled with care and grace.
The chemistry between Rowan and Max is electric. The spicy is very hot but the development of their relationship is done so well. There were so many heartwarming moments that made me cry.
I cannot recommend this book enough. Please pick this amazing story up today!

This story is told from the POV’s of Max, the rich, brooding and seriously handsome heir to the Dunmarach Estate and distillery, and Rowan, a feisty pocket rocket who has headed to Dunmarach to try and get the scoop of the century to help fund her grandmothers ever increasing care bill. After Max catches Rowan trying to break into the estate grounds, he offers her the chance of a lifetime, marry him for 1 year to help save his estate from being handed over to the board and he will help fund her grans care. This is the perfect Grumpy x Sunshine with a happily ever after that will make you laugh, swoon and fall in love. There are some sad moments in the book as Max remembers his past, during which there are talks about a family death and child neglect. This is important to the story as it helps explain why Max is the way he is but be aware that it is there as it may be distressing. Beatrice has done an amazing job of setting the scene and her description of Glasgow was so spot on I nearly woke my partner laughing. I enjoyed this book so much that I’ve already downloaded her previous series to read next

This book has solidified the fact that Beatrice Bradshaw is now on my auto buy list. I have absolutely LOVED every book of hers I've read, but this book had me HOWLING! I do love a grumpy/sunshine book and boy is Max the broody boyfriend you never knew you needed! He is annoyed to learn just 1 week before the deadline that he must be married by his birthday in order to keep his family's land, house and distillery. He has no girlfriend and no prospects… until the sassy, spunky journalist Rowan literally falls at his feet.
She is not his normal type. She is loud and opinionated, but there is something about her that captivates him enough to make a proposition that will benefit both of them - she's a bit cash strapped with no work and lots of bills to help pay for her grandmother's care.
Although this starts off as a fake marriage, it isn't too long before they both begin to feel very real feelings for one another. But will they be brave enough to take a chance on each other?
I could NOT put this book down. I adored everything about it. I wish I could give it more than 5 stars!

The banter, the sarcasm, the trauma, the passion, the hate. Just YES!!! So so so good!
Maxwell hasn't set foot in Scotland for as long as he could avoid, but 1 week before his 30th birthday he has been told to inherit his family's estate... he needs to marry by his bday..... or the estate is given to the trust. Not knowing what to do, he needs to find a bride and fast.

I fell in love with Beatrice's writing when I read Love in the Scottish Fall Forest last year, a brilliant read I absolutely loved. This was another gorgeous read that I finished in one sitting but I also didn't want it to end, this book had everything & more, brilliant writing, a beautiful setting, great plot, lots of humour, banter, romance & spice 🔥🔥 Oh and a castle and whiskey!!
The characters were so good, Max was the perfect grumpy grump while Rowan was a force to be reckoned with & well able to handle the grump, opposites in the every way but their chemistry is off the charts & sparks like you wouldn't believe.
What I wasn't expecting was how deep & emotional this got a points, seeing Max & Rowan's relationship development was so beautiful & heartwarming. Beatrice is a fantastic storyteller who writes great characters you will fall in love with.
A must read.

What a truly magical, dreams-come-true-escape for a plucky but down on her luck independent journalist who somehow ends up bagging a proposal from a handsome rich heir to an estate that boasts a castle AND a distillery within hours of meeting him! Liked the meet cute, and their story gets plenty steamy.
I also found their backstories, especially Max's, really helped bring the main characters alive and make them relatable. The villain was a bit OTT, but overall the story was romantic, steamy and a perfect escape read. Extra plus: the Scottish setting.

Rich highland husband
This book ticked so many boxes before I even read the first page. The Highlands of Scotland are my happy place so that’s made being the setting was a massive tick. And then I started reading. And I know I would love this.
Rowan and Maxwell are just incredible. Seeing their relationship develop, the dialogue between them, the humour, the spice, the love. What a wonderful journey I went on with them.
And this is a book which has its ups and downs too. It has sad moments that brought a lump to my throat. It also has laugh out loud moments and then the rest of the time I was just smiling seeing this book unfold.
I literally loved it and basically if I could have not worked and just read it in a day I would have! What a wonderfully written book!

I did like the cover and blurb of this book. I got into it straight away. I couldn't put it down. I did like Rowan and Max. I loved how they were with each other. Rowans quick wit. I loved how she quickly answered him. I loved how they were with each other. ‘You’re going to be nothing but trouble, aren’t you?’. I loved this line. I felt this was true with and Rowans remark ‘Oh, my dear Maxwell.’ She spoke in an exaggerated, posh accent and squeezed his hand once before letting go. ‘I already am.’. I loved how Max stuck up for Rowan. I really didn't like Richard. Especially what he said about Rowan. I did like Mrs MacPherson and Oliver. I loved the ending.

Of COURSE Max only has a week to claim his inheritance which includes him getting married, and of COURSE Rowan, a starving freelance journalist shows up in perfect timing. But what is not OF COURSE is the banter and wit between the two, I mean I expected it a little, but wow does it get steamy. And speaking of steamy, the spicy scenes!!!
This was a delightful read from top to tail. I loved the setting, and am always a fan of a book set in Scotland, especially in a castle or whiskey distillery and this had both! OH WOW this was a great book. Max and Rowan were physical attracted between one another. And the chemistry was mind blowing of chaos and drama. Money was the case of Max financial moment so now she need to have a fake marriage with Rowan so her situation can improved in a big way. Could she be falling in real love with Max right now . their lives were about to change in a big moment due to the action of having a real marriage. I was on my edge of my seat and I couldn't even put it down. I highly recommend this book and you won't be disappointed. I love the meeting between Max and Rowan, and I love her attitude. The snark provides much laughter.
There's some tough themes they have to work through, but once they learn to trust in each other, they realise this can be much easier and is beautiful to see develop.
There are one or two *cough* spicy scenes, and wow! It's hot.
