Great talking through why God allows suffering from someone who understands. Joni is constantly quoting Scripture and the part about heaven at the end is super encouraging!
This books subtitle is "Why Our Sufferings Matter to the Almighty" and the book is exactly on that subject. With everything I've gone through in this past almost two years what with being diagnosed with cancer, and not being able to be in the place i most want to be with the people i want to be with, I have already been learning the premise of this book. What was good about this book however was that it reiterated things I already knew and it made me spend much more time on topics that i had only given a bit of thought to beforehand. The book is very reassuring to any human. We all have pain and suffering, and it's so hard to make sense of these things, and there never are ways to explain it away, especially in the midst of suffering. But when our emotions calm, or before they are even roused, taking the things written in this book helps people to look forward to our hope of eternity.
Excellent read. I always enjoy Joni Eareckson Tada's writings as she sees the world, life, and eternity with a perspective most of us do not experience.
