She'll do anything to keep her family home…and I'll do anything to keep her.

A lovely young woman shows up at my estate claiming it belongs to her family. She's wrong, of course. Her foolish father lost it with mismanagement and poor choices. But I can't help but be intrigued by her beautiful eyes and her ill-advised bravado. She has no idea the beast she's going up against…and yet I didn't know she was what I needed until she offered herself to me.

He's more than a beast…

I thought I was making a deal with a monster when I entered an unusual arrangement with the aloof British tycoon who'd taken over my family's home, but every day, every moment, he has me aching for him. He's arrogant, sinful, and domineering—and everything I never knew I wanted.

'His Every Need' by Terri L. Austin is book one in the series "Beauty and the Brit". This is the story of Allie Campbell and Trevor Blake.
Allie is the oldest of three girls and has been helping to take care of her mother who had terminal cancer. Her father seems to have lost his way since he wife has gotten sick and died. Now Allie finds out that her father made a bad loan choice that put their house up to be sold.
Allie goes to Trevor who is the one that loaned her father the money and is the one that is taking away their house. There Allie find that Trevor doesn't care about her sad story nor will he give them a longer time frame to pay him back. Trevor makes an off remark about her selling her body to get money as a mean joke but she calls Trevor out on it and offers her body to him.
Trevor thinks to scare her away with forceful sexual talk but she doesn't back down. Now Trevor finds himself with her as his 'mistress' for a few months for her to bring her fathers bill to a zero balance.
Allie was a strong character that just wanted to save her family that was going in all directions and not the right direction. Allie was attracted to Trevor and did feel that he was harsh in some of his words but she slowly started learning about his younger life that had made him who he turned into.
Trevor did say really mean things to her at times that he quickly wanted to take back. Overall he was a good hero who was slow to except his feelings for her. I loved how he would tell his staff she was only her for a few days and each time he repeated that statement he kept adding days to it until he ended up with months. Also the secondary characters were so much fun although I didn't care so much for Monica the middle sister as much as the other characters. I did a marathon read of this book and the next Novella book 'To Be His' and stayed up all night reading them both. To me they were that good...so today I am fight a book hangover but it was totally worth it!
So if you like a strong, gets into your business heroine and a wounded, tough sounding and fight his feeling hero this one is for you.
I can't wait to read more of Ms. Austin books and this series!!

A fun read but nothing special.

The main male character was too big of a douche in the beginning for me to forgive him and love him completely. That doesn't mean that I liked Allie better. Nope, couldn't connect with her but I do give her some credit for literally taking care of both her dad and her sisters. There was a bit too much unnecessary drama for my taste. The whole situation when his mother is all like "Oh,the way he looks at you. When are you two getting married?" made me just roll my freaking eyes. Come on.

description

Also,their families are fucking crazy.

If you can handle annoying younger sisters and crazy parents then you might enjoy this book more than I did.

Allie is 25 years old. She's working in a shitty Las Vegas Hotel and she's also the new mom for her two teenage sisters. Her Dad is not really up to the whole 'taking-care-of-the-daily-family-stuff' thing. And ever since her mom died of cancer, Allie tries to keep the family together.

But now it seems that her Dad kind of got his company in trouble. He borrowed money from this rich Brit and the family is about to lose their home.

The only thing Allie can think of to save her family home is to go and beg for more time to pay back the money.

Trevor Blake lives in a huge mansion outside of Las Vegas and he doesn't really care about the problems of this lovely girl sitting in front of him.
But he's also very attracted to her - and then suddenly, he doesn't really know how, she's offering herself in exchange for the debts of her father.
He only jokingly flirted with her, but now he can't say no anymore.
He doesn't do relationships, but to have a mistress living with him, who will do anything he asks... a guy can't say no to that.

That's how Allie ends up living in Trevor's huge house, complete with butler and cook and chauffeur.
But it seems Trevor doesn't want to start their physical relationship anytime soon.

Trevor thought she was only bluffing when she accepted his proposition, he never thought she would really move in with him. And now that she's here he doesn't really know how to get her to leave again. Not that he really wants her to leave...

Then there's Allie's sisters. The younger, shy one is still grieving their mother and now she also has to live with Allie moving out. The older sister is acting up big time. There were some scenes where I sooo wanted to slap that girl!!!

description

but we know that she's only acting up because she hasn't gotten over her mom's death....

So Allie has lots of problems on her plate.....

But she's also incredibly drawn to Trevor, but she thinks that he sees her only as nothing more than a sex toy....

And we also get a visit from Trevor's parents. Between them they were married more than 10 times and now it seems they're back together, and they want Trevor to be part of their family again. But Trevor can't forget the way they were never there for him as a little boy - they send him off to boarding school when he was only 8 years old.

With all that's happening in both Allie & Trevor's lives - they seem to really want and need each other...but it's not really that simple when a relationship starts the way theirs has....

description

We have lots of cute and romantic and sexy and erotic and funny and even moving scenes...I think I already started to cry a little bit in the first chapter ☺

WHAT WILL HAPPEN WITH ALLIE & TREVOR???
WILL THE TWO OF THEM GET THEIR HEA???
OR WILL THERE BE A HORRIBLE CLIFFHANGER??? o.O

description

AND WHAT THE EFF DOES URUGUAY HAVE TO DO WITH ANYTHING??? ☺

description

I'm not telling you that of course!!

description

GO READ IT ☺☺☺
(OK - I will tell you that there's no cliffhanger ☺ But we'll get another book - this next book will/could probably be about Allie's sister and Trevor's Cousin!)

3.75 Knicker-Dropping Stars ;)

This book starts out typically enough as a Billionaire/Struggling Waif story. But, Trevor the billionaire isn't AS much of a prick as some richer than sin' insanely good-looking stereotypes. Yes, he starts out that way, and delivers his share of staggering verbal blows, yet there's a vulnerability and sharp wit that we discern fairly quickly is a front. (The fact that he's a Brit doesn't hurt.) And Allie is such a strong heroine. There's not one place in the story where I didn't admire her. And I ADORED all the secondary characters. I was absolutely ready to pack my bags and move into Trevor's mansion, even if it was just as a caretaker to his amazing garden.

Yes, there are some Britishisms attributed to non-Brits, but they didn't bother me. They're easy to pick up, I can attest being married to a Brit, like knickers and cheers, so I relate and overlooked them. And, in truth, they added humor and a musicality to the telling of the story.

I'd eeep this romance to those who desire a touch of levity and want a break from intense angst in their dramas. Also, there isn't really any BDSM content, truth be told.

*I received an ARC of this book free from NetGalley on behalf of SOURCEBOOKS Casablanca in exchange for an honest review*

Allie Campbell had everything going for her until her mother ended up sick and dying from cancer. Allie is home taking care of the house, her sister’s, and her father. When she learns that her father is losing the family home she has to try something to help keep a roof over her family’s head.

British tycoon Trevor Blake is the new owner of Allie’s family home. Trevor is a very arrogant man that does not understand the big deal about family. Allie comes to plea her case and he will not budge on the debt that Allie’s father owes.

Allie makes a deal with Trevor to do anything to keep the house. When he offers to forgive the debt if Allie moves in with him and cater to his every need, she agrees. Trevor did not think she was going to agree, so what does he do with her now? His only choice is to stand by the deal and try to get Allie to break it herself.

Trevor’s mom and dad make a surprise visit to see their son and give an announcement. If Allie can make this stubborn man acknowledge his own family then maybe she has a fighting chance, but will Allie be able to walk away when the deal is done?

This was a fun and emotional book to read. Trevor is very arrogant and really seems like he does not have any feelings at all besides anger. He has definitely met his match when it comes to Allie and all of her no filter, take no crap, sassiness. When the deal seems to be off the true emotions start to come out.

I would recommend this book to anyone that enjoys a hot romance story.

My Favorite Laughable Moment: I had to laugh when Allie hangs up on Trevor and instead of calling her back he just waits for her to get home and decides she needs to be punished.

My Favorite Heartfelt Moment: I loved the true emotions that surface when Allie goes back home and Trevor is forced to face his feeling head on to get his woman back.

Allie lost her mother 6 months ago, but she's been taking care of her two sisters, her father and their house ever since her mother fell ill 5 years ago. Her life was put on hold while she took care of everyone else. Until one day she finds that although her father has been unable to make any decisions regarding his children, he has made decisions with his business that has allowed it to be run into the ground and them to lose their house. Allie just can't let it happen, at any cost she will make sure her sisters and father don't lose the only thing they have left.

Trevor Blake is a used to buying and selling things, loaning money to businesses that should help him make a profit off his investments. He isn't used to a someone willing to literally do anything for their family since his is such a mess. He puts up offer after offer to Allie hoping it'll make her back down but she agrees to nearly any terms he makes. Including being there for his every need.

I found this book to be quite interesting. I loved Allie's character especially as she developed through the story from the daughter who does everything for her family to the woman in love and going after what she needs in life. Trevor was frustrating at times, but I still found him highly amusing as he tried to understand this colorful and lively woman that lives with him.

I did find that there was a LOT of British terminology that was used while in Allie's POV, which didn't work for me since she was supposed to be American and wouldn't have used such terms when thinking or speaking. I also didn't care for her dad and his quick change towards the end and that Allie was just okay with it. I would have been rip roaring mad for a heck of a lot longer, but maybe that's just me after everything she went through.

All in all, I loved it and can't wait for the next one to see where their story goes from here.

I could not get past the first few chapters where the poor heroine is begging the hero not to take her home away and all he is thinking about how great her ass and tits looks and even suggests she can find work as a stripper to save her home. And this is supposed to be the man we want with our heroine? I figured maybe a good grovel scene and the end might save his character but nope. We get a paltry apology but an insistence that he wasn't able to change the hard man he was and that she was just going to have to accept it. Um. No. After the obscene way he treated her just in the beginning (I couldn't bear to read further and just skipped to the end) we deserved this miserable bastard on his knees before her begging her not to leave him and promising to change his ways but we didn't even get a decent apology. We get a half-hearted non-apology. I now understand the term hate read.

I read this series out of order. After reading book 3, His Every Need, I was intrigued by Trevor's character as well as his and Allie's relationship so I knew I must come back and read book 1. I pretty much loved it.

There were some funny situations, and I loved the characters. Frances, Arnold, and everyone at Trevor's place were all great. They added a lot to the story, and I loved seeing Brynn as younger Brynn before she got her own story.

The one thing that kept me from completely loving this one was at times the writing and characters felt a bit...off. Trevor and Allie's relationship didn't feel real from time to time.

Overall though, I am excited to read more from Terri L. Austin in the future.

Okay, so it was probably my fault for not thoroughly realizing what I was getting into with this book. It was definitely not what I was expecting, but to be honest, it's not like His Every Need was a terribly bad book. It just didn't work out for me. If you can get past the set-up and some of the scenes that make you go "Hmm...", the rest of the book really is quite enjoyable.

In order to keep her family home intact as well as save her family from falling further into debt (which apparently would ruin and tear them apart), Allie Campbell agrees to become the "mistress" of wealthy, British businessman Trevor Blake. Their agreement (with a signed contract and everything that Allie doesn't even bother reading before signing) states that if Allie agrees to be at Trevor's every beck and call and satisfy his every need and every whim, he will forego the debt owed to him by Allie's father, allow them to keep their house, and pay off all of their debts as well as medical bills.

I'm... thinking I should have realized this wasn't the type of insightful Contemporary Romance I had been expecting, but that's really my fault. This book is a straight up Erotica Romance wherein decisions made on both sides of the coupling does no more than find excuses to bring the man and woman together despite the many triggers I found that had me grimacing. And every little action and word always finds a way of making one side lust after the other, which ultimately either leads to foreplay or sex or both for no other reason than because our hero and heroine are always horny, 24/7.

Basically, in my personal opinion, there are a lot of triggers to this relationship that had me questioning the basis of which Allie and Trevor fall in love. I just found it hard to accept the basis of their entire relationship, even if things grew into more comfortable territory if you can forget about all the other stuff I don't agree with: mainly, the frightening speed at which Allie falls for Trevor despite the entire situation of him being an arrogant, nasty asshole, and her having been bought as a mistress.

To be fair, His Every Need wasn't written badly. The premise was interesting enough to hook me and the dialogue and the characters had style.

But the entire first half of the book had me rolling my eyes multiple times and even zoning out. I just couldn't quite understand how someone who was supposedly as sensible as Allie Campbell managed to get herself into this situation unless she was on her last straw of choices. But she readily agrees to become Trevor's mistress for the sake of her family (which should have been commendable, but at the same time, kind of stupid). And despite all the arrogance, the rudeness, the spite, the nastiness, and the somewhat extortion by Trevor, she can't help but feel something for him the moment he casts his smoldering eyes on her or touches her or... stuff.

Granted, she was the one who agreed to sell her body to him for the price of keeping her family together. But the things that Trevor says to her and the way in which he speaks to her and treats her really doesn't make her seem like anything more than an old-age sex slave with no freedom... Of course, it's not like she really acts like a sex slave since she counters his demands regularly, so at least kudos to that.

But it's a bit disconcerting how quickly Allie falls for him even though he's the man buying her body like she's a some helpless sex slave and his unyielding treatment of her like she's nothing more than a worthless sex slave. Little moments of realized niceties don't make up for constantly being treated like crap.

And no, it doesn't help that Trevor's personal stance on the situation is that he DOESN'T want to have anything to do with Allie, erego, he doesn't want to touch her at all. He only agreed to the entire mistress contract because, after one meeting with her, he's found that he likes riling her up and he likes looking at her big boobs. Because the fact is, he does want to touch her and he is lusting after her and he doesn't show much restraint upon being around her.

Then again, Allie wasn't exactly the nicest girl in town, and just as well, she doesn't exactly honor their agreement or their contract (no matter how ugh I feel about the contract). Because Trevor does his part and pays all her family's debts and medical expenses and lets her family keep their house... but she won't even bother to show up to have lunch with him when it's part of their agreement that she be at his every beck and call.

So... I don't know.

By the second half of the book, the relationship grows into a sweeter, more agreeable one and you actually do grow to like all the characters. The one caveat of the love story is that its an extremely predictable one in its execution and development:

Allie is a good girl who gets roped in with the bad boy, Trevor. The two of them fall into a whirlwind lust too easily despite the fact that they don't like each other. Then feelings start to abound as they learn more about each other. And while the arrogant asshole of a rich man has grown soft and tries to do little things for the girl, he's unwilling to admit that he's fallen for her. At the same time, Trevor has his own childhood scars that are supposed to explain away his nasty behavior and his tendencies at being a heartless jerk. And, surprise, surprise, Allie is the one who will help him mend his hurts and make him realize that love DOES exist in this world. There's bickering, there's hurtful word exchanged, there's niceties and heart-warming moments, then there are multiple not-so-sexy sex scenes with garish dialogue, the final BIG SPLIT UP due to REASONS... and then a typical Happily Ever After.

If one can safely get past the questionable set-up from the first half of the book, one might actually find the rest of the story line lightheartedly enjoyable. There were some FEELS near the ending that DID manage to get to me. There were a scattering of scenes and side plots that bugged me. But at the same time there were other scenes and developments that were agreeable. Just as well, there were certain parts of the book that were written quite amusingly and cute.

Final Thoughts: When I started reading His Every Need it was out of interest to see how a woman could end up in a situation such as Allie Campbell's. I was expecting a more clever situation set-up, but found myself a little disappointed. Then I continued on with the book out of sheer curiosity at how things would play out despite being a little annoyed. By the end of the book, I really will admit that things smoothed out and enjoyment was had.

It's just unfortunate that the book started out the way that it did and the love story has such a fragile first impression to work with. It really makes it kind of hard to feel good about the coupling of Allie and Trevor even though I kind of wanted to like their relationship by the end of the book, because the development of the love story in the middle was probably better than I give it credit for.

This was an okay read. I wasn't in a great mood today so that played a part in my dislike. All the characters were train wrecks and I just wasn't in the mood for their crap. By the time Allie and Trevor got their crap together I just didn't really care anymore. The good news was that they got heir HEA in the end.

Title: His Every Need
Author: Terri L Austin
Publisher/Year: Sourcebooks Inc 8/5/14
Length: 336 Pages
Series: Beauty and the Brit #1

Overview

Allie Campbell is determined to take care of her family, no matter the cost. But when her father loses their home to British tycoon Trevor Blake, Allie finds herself forced to plead for more time to pay off the loan...and if she has to use her own body as collateral, then so be it.

Trevor isn't moved by Allie's story. But when Allie impulsively offers to do anything to keep the house, he's intrigued enough to raise the stakes: for the next two months, she must cater to his every need, no matter how depraved. To his amazement, she agrees.

Allie has no intention of enjoying her time with the arrogant, domineering Brit, but it doesn't take long before he's got her aching for his touch-and he'll do whatever it takes to make her beg...

My Thoughts

Well, first off i should say how much i love getting ARCs from Netgalley - since it means that i can get into a book before it's out and perhaps help get people interested when it finally get released if i like it. well - I LIKED IT.

In this story - we get a plot similar to others in the sense that the leading lady sells herself in order to save her house - which is in line with others that i've read when she's needed to pay for medical bills or save her family from ruin etc. So while it's not original, it was given a unique twist because Allie doesn't hide that she's working for Trevor to pay off her father's debt - she just doesn't give all the details.

So in this story - we see Allie step up and offer up something that Trevor wasn't serious about, and yet, something that they both want yet don't know. Trevor is our typical arrogant Brit business man who thinks that he can get whatever he wants when. Allie is our usual naive lead - but she's got a backbone which is nice in this story.

The journey that we go on is one where we see Trevor try to put Allie at ease while enjoying what she has to offer, and Allie trying to break through his outer layers since she knows that his past and family are touchy subjects - brought to the forefront when his parents have come to stay for the duration as they play their re-marriage.

While this story is rather expected - we get the constant reminder that it's different in the sense that Allie's family continues to play a big role. Her sisters Monica and Brynn are more than supporting characters - they have their own stories that we get immersed with and Allie can't get on with her life and experiences with Trevor because she has to deal with them. Her father's a whole different issue and it makes everyone crazy.

I'm new to this author and i have to say that i really enjoy her style. What we get is a lot of passion and chemistry that really comes off the page in a good way. The way that we see Trevor try to bring Allie to life is hot - i was really engrossed in their scenes - and he's more romantic and erotic than anything else. I feel like i had pegged this book based on description as more of a BDSM - dom style book and while we got the erotic nature because of how these 2 relate to one another, it's pure good sex - and that's something that's nice as well.

Anyhow - i was so into it that i read it all in one night - so i think that means that it's a winner. I hope you guys enjoy when you're able to get your hands on it!

In His Every Need, we meet Allie (Allison) Campbell stock with a difficult choice. After her mother's death, Allie became the second parent and took over her family. Taken with medical debt and without work, Allie's father loses everything, including the family home.

Allie went ahead and requests a payment extension the rich Trevor Blake, who now owns the family home and the Campbell Family future. Mr. Blake isn't shaken by Allie's problem and sad story and dismisses her. As a last resort, Allie offers her body and time in exchange of her home and family debts. Intrigued, Trevor Blake agrees, but neither ones knows what they are getting into.

Allie, the poor and helpless girl is lost in this new world full of opportunity and wealth. She does not seem to conceive the reality of this contract. Trevor Blake pays for bodily and sexual services, but Allie is constantly frustrated and outraged to be perceived as a sex object, a mistress, a whore. Cause a woman who gets paid for sex is by definition a prostitute. No !?!

Although the story is predictable from beginning to end, I liked the salty exchanges between Trevor and Allie. Their emotional differences comes quickly and catch them up when Trevor's parents moves in and Allie's family problems are constantly adding and stopping Trevor to get what he wants and paying for.

For cons, I quickly got tired of the Allie childish temper. She always complains about her situation with Trevor (which she's solely responsible for), the lack of support from her own family (which is not at all aware of her shenanigans) and the fact that Trevor his seeing her at times as a woman he loves and then as his fuck toy. Get over it girl, you're the one who was ask asking for it at the first place!

Trevor Blake is a rich and powerful man. His British ways and his arrogance make him untouchable. By cons, even if he will not admit it, he falls passionately in love with the outrageous Allie and let her do anything, anytime. I personally believe he should have been a little firmer and strict with Allie on some points. In addition, Trevor didn't have a very happy childhood with his parents (always absent). Family, marriage and trust are not part of his desires. He refuses all pleasure arising from these categories.

This book contains a lot of action connected to the external appearance of the couple Allie / Trevor, giving a deeper dimension to the book than just a sexual encounter between these two. The moral of the book: Money doesn't buy everything, especially not love and you have to fight for those you love. This one was fun to read, very light and entertaining story. Looking forward to find out who are the next Beauty and the next Brit!

His Every Need, Terri Austin

Review from jeannie zelos book reviews

I wasn't sure what to expect from this, couldn’t find any previous books, and the description was a bit brief...but its labelled erotic romance and its a genre I enjoy so took a chance. And I’m so glad I did a s this was a really good read.

Allie, she left school five years previous to look after her family when mum was ill. Mum died a few moths ago, and dad went to pieces, and Allie has been picking up everything since then. Then she finds out that dad took out loans with Trevor and they're going to lose their home. She can't have that for her two younger sisters so pleads with Trevor. In an effort to get rid of her he makes the offer of being his for a period, to cater for his every whim, and after some negotiation she agrees. He's stunned but moves her in...
She can't tell her family of course, so tells them she's working for him as his assistant. Then the fun begins, the sexual tension between Trevor and Allie is sizzling, and leads to lots of very spicy, erotic scenes. But there's more than that in here. There's the typical family problems, how death and debt affect families, how teenagers can find their way forward difficult, and Allie has her hands full with her two sisters. Teen years can be hard, add in death and debt and its a nightmare, and they both react in very different ways. Then there's dad, how he copes with death, how he goes to pieces and leaves Allie to do everything, then when he starts to pick up – well...more problems. Its real life this part, things that most people can relate to and adds so much drama and realism to the story.
Of course that's just background, with the real meat being Allie and Trevor. His family history is sad, and when his parents decide to stay with him for a while that's fun! And very telling too..Allie and Trevor have lots of hot sex, and Trevor is determined that's all it is...at times he's a right b* stard to her to prove to Allie and himself that's all that's between them. Allie though has lost her heart of course, though he can be a jerk, he's also been really helpful with her family and tender at times, and that leads to some really tearful drama. I love that in a story, where its deep drama, full of dark emotion, there needs to be that for me to counteract the happy and that makes it so much better when it all works out.
Stars: Full five, a really good read, lots of hot sex and with an interesting and realistic back story.

TOUCHING, GRITTY, AND STEAMILY SENSUOUS!

HIS EVERY NEED happily surprised me on a number of levels. It takes a theme which is being played to the extreme lately, the billionaire commitment-phobe who objectifies women, and the down-on-her-luck earnest good girl, but that is where the cliches end. This story has heart...and a lot of it...and two main characters who are delightfully, realistically confused as they blunder through the crazy situation they find themselves in together.

Trevor Blake meets Allison Campbell, whose agenda is to find a legitimate way to salvage her family home, lost to Trevor due to gross financial mishandling by her father. Trevor rather accidentally falls into accepting Allie as his mistress, through actual miscommunication on both their parts, and then a lack of willingness to backtrack, essentially calling each others' bluffs. What then ensues is a touching, often gritty and sad, duel between Trevor and Allie as they fight their growing feelings for each other.

Family dysfunction, relationship struggles, and fear of intimacy threaten to derail any hope of a true relationship between our protagonists, but through it all, Trevor acts unfailingly generously and kindly to Allie. It seems that the more Trevor tells himself that he is merely using Allie as a distraction and payback for the loss incurred by forgiving her father's debt, the more he is free to actually behave as the caring lover whom he is not ready to admit to himself that he wants to be.

My only frustration with this compelling romance is the obtuse, selfish nature of both Allie's father and her wayward sister; both of these characters cross the line into caricature. All of the other supporting characters, especially Allie's youngest sister, are delightful and rounded enough to be quite believable. In the end, we receive the happy ending which Trevor and Allie have worked so hard for, and we are equally as gratified, because Ms. Austin has made the reader like these characters, as well as their story, a good deal indeed. Subject matter which is serious most of the time, lighthearted just enough of the time, and steamily sensuous between Trevor and Allie all of the time, HIS EVERY NEED was a very rewarding read.

Allie Campbell is willing to do anything to help her family. After having to take over the reins of her family when her mother passes away, she learns her father has managed to lose their house as well. When Allie learns the name of the man whom her father as gotten a loan, and managed to default on, is Brit tycoon Trevor Blake, she goes to see him. She agrees to move in and become his mistress in exchange for forgiving her father's debts. Even though her father is oblivious to the problems within the family, her younger sister is running with the wrong crowd, and the youngest sister is withdrawing into herself, Allie still decides this is the best she can do to save her family.

While Trevor never really intended to follow through with this ridiculous scheme, things don't exactly go as planned (do they ever?). His parents show up and, with them, chaos. He is closed off from them, causing him to do the same to Allie. As he begins to find solace with her, not only physically but emotionally, he starts to develop real feelings for Allie. But when he pushes her away and pushes too far, he loses Allie. But can he get her back?

Is it possible to give a book more than five stars? If so, this book would be at the top of the list to deserve those extra stars. I LOVED this book! When I first read the synopsis, I immediately thought it would be more Fifty Shades than romantic tale. Boy was I surprised. Trevor doesn't immediately get into bed with Allie, despite their agreement. And the way their chemistry grows with the turn of every page and how they each handle the same situations when they are thrust together is a wonderful change of pace. I love how both of their families add a further dimension to the story. Trevor hates his family but Allie loves them (as so will the readers - eventually); Allie wants to save her family and Trevor wants her to see they need to save themselves. Its a wonderful story, full of surprises and love. This author is moving up on my list of favorites and I cannot wait to see even more of Allie and Trevor in the future!

This review is long, long overdue. See, I discovered Terri Austin with her Rose Strickland Mystery series. And since I thought they were fabulous, I did all the things that fans do: I followed the author on Goodreads, subscribed to her newsletter, followed her on twitter and liked her on Facebook. I think it was through one of her Facebook giveaways that I actually won this book. It wasn't long after I received it that I started it, reading a little bit every day on my lunch break at work.

It was a good story; one that I enjoyed enough that when the second book was released, I requested an ARC for review. So, back to the question of why I didn't do a review at the time.... Um. *shrugs* I don't have a good answer, other than books that I read for my personal enjoyment I don't tend to do formal reviews for. But when I reviewed the second book in the series, I realized that I should officially review the first.

To be honest, I wasn't sure if I was going to like it or not when I started it. The whole idea of the Alpha-hole guy basically cornering the scared woman into a sexual relationship... eh, sounded a bit creepy, smacked of a bodice ripper historical and so-ho-ho not my usual fair. But I figured I would give the author a chance to convince me with her plot and storytelling. You know what? It worked. I was by turns assured and persuaded to her vision. And though there was plenty of smexy good times to be had, that actually is built up to far more slowly than some other "traditional" plot line romances that I have read.

Trevor's not the A-hole I first envisioned and Allie's not the weak-spined ninny letting the "Man" bully her around. It really is a love story of two slightly damaged people, each with their own hang ups and issues. Together, they complete each other and created something stronger. I especially liked Trevor's crazy parents. Meeting them explained so much. So, so much. I liked it, thought it redeemed my initial fears, so I gave it 3 stars.

This is my first Terri L. Austin book. I met the author at a book signing at Barnes and Noble. I started the book, then set it down about halfway through. I picked it back up yesterday and as I read, it all came back to me. This is a contemporary romance with a touch of erotic. Allie Campbell has a family in crisis. She is the fixer in her family. Her mother died 6 months ago after a 5 yr battle with cancer. Her father, Brian, is barely functioning. He's losing his business and now has to pay back the loan he took out from an english businessman. Trevor Blake is all about the business. He doesn't care one bit about family drama or problems. Money is what drives him. When a gorgeous, poorly dressed, Allie comes to beg for more time on her father's loan, he takes notice. They agree for Allie to become Trevor's mistress for 2 months to forgive her father's loans.
Bring on the family drama. Allie has her own with her 2 sisters and father. Trevor's absent, pain-in-the-ass parents show up to his mansion. They plan to be remarried. Trevor wants nothing to do with them. They want his forgiveness.
As the business relationship develops, dramatic events happen and Allie and Trevor are tested.
Mags and Nigel, his parents are a hoot. Brynn is a sweet sister and Monica is a troubled sister that Allie has to deal with. The heat factor is good. I laughed and felt sad for the characters at times.
All in all, I enjoyed the flow of the story and am happy there is a HEA.

~~I received a free copy of this book to read and review for Wicked Reads ~~

Trust me, you have to have a degree of faith to get past the initial annoying bit (well to me anyway) and give Trevor one free past, because after that it is a very satisfying read.

I liked the linking with the fairytale, and at the same time, accepted that obviously it developed at its own pace. The side characters were fun and essential to the smooth running of the story - and supplied much of the humour. I am a Brit, so the references went almost unnoticed - which means they were generally in context and not too obvious. Once things started to heat up (and they certainly did) I was fascinated to see how the bad start could be resolved, thankfully it was. As the first in a series, I am curious to see where we go next and with whom.

For a light read, with some substance and charm - give this one a go!

This was my first Terri Austin book and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Since it says #1, I hope this means there will be more! I was intrigued by the premise and the book delivered and then some. I admit to being delightfully surprised at the depth of characterization in this book. From reading the back cover I thought this was going to be a story with more sex than love or romance. Not true! While the sex is hot, steamy and fun, the characters were deeply drawn and the love story was just as delicious as the sex.

I received an advance reading copy from the author but was not required to post a review. I did so because I want other readers to discover the magic and joy that is His Every Need.

This book will go on my keeper shelf and I know I will pull it out when I need a satisfying and enjoyable read.

I was so very lucky to received an ARC from Netgalley. These "help me and I'll sign your contract" type books that lead to a massive love affair are some of my faves. This one though, this one might be on the top of my fave list for quite some time. I loved this book. I laughed out loud many times. Ripe with Brit humor and so many massively mesesed up family issues; this book is NEVER predictable. Granted, you know that the poor jaded billionaire will do his best to resist the young do-gooder, but that's the fun stuff, right? It's why we read these.

Terri L. Austin has a whole bag of fun people all trying to find their way in this book. It's a great read and one that will satisfy ever book lover's reason for reading.

4.0/5 stars

I practically inhaled this book in less than 25 hours, so there's that !

Look, the LI is a unapologetic British asshole. There's no other way to put it. He is a jerk and he doesn't give two shits about it, and SORRY but I loved it. What I loved even more was how the MC did not take his shit. She stood up to herself and pushed back until he fell off the cliff. That's probably why I like his asshole-ness.

The sex was hot. The characters were interesting. Sure some of the plot choices were a little unbelievable but I truly enjoyed this. And his parents?!! Ha hahahaha. His parents were hilarious! Horrible at parenting, but so freaking weird!

I just loved this book. Finally, after reading so many "blah" books, I find a book that was so funny, sexy, and just so real. I did not expect that from this book, because I judged this book by its cover and title and thought it would be another erotic bdsm. I was so wrong. I loved how Ms. Austin weaved both of the families and the disfunctions within them. I also LOVED how this was not a love triangle or there was no other woman in the book. SO refreshing. I look forward to reading more by this author.

I totally enjoyed this book. It had humor, heart and lots of heat. I came to care for all the characters. Can't wait to read the next one. This was a re-read for me so I still agree with what I wrote before. I really like Trevor.

*** THIS REVIEW MAY CONTAIN SPOILERS ***

I really enjoyed this book. I am not sure I just like reading the grouchy male with his issue and a female that does not have a problem telling him off from time to time. I find amusement in the back and forth.

Well, here is a little about this book. Ms. Allison Campell has a tough life taking care of her family with times get even worse for her. She is desperate to keep her family together and makes a deal with a Rich Brit businessman named Mr. Trevor Blake. Allison has put her life on hold and just worries about everyone else and making them happy and forgets about herself. But she is a loving and caring person. Mr. Blake seems to be a cold-hearted man who could care less about love or anything to that nature. Just wants what he wants and that is that. Until he meets Ms. Campell who turns his world upside down. Well, give this book a try. I personally like all the happenings in this book. Not just one problem with one couple but multiple. I personally like that back and forth banter. Just lets you know that no family is perfect. All have their issues.

I would recommend this book to friends. :)

I started reading this and I thought it was going to be so bad.
It isn't in line with what I've been reading these past few months but I was curious enough when I saw it in my library, so I took the gander.
I have to say that this is pretty good. I know some others said that they couldn't get behind the change Trevor made (like his arc, or whatnot) was like too short. I can see why. Some of his changes do feel abrupt, but the author did try to keep him level with how he was from the beginning. It definitely wasn't a gradual change though.
And Allison was a pretty cool FMC. I liked that her worries were consistent, even though she was trying to change for the better.
And you know what, the plot worked pretty well.
I don't know, if you're curious enough to read it, I say go for it. Your library might carry it too. 🙌🏼
