4.5 To Love and to Forgive Stars

Love means falling and overcoming the fear of height.

Conquer Your Love starts off right where Surrender Your Love leaves off. If you haven’t read book one in this series, you need to before starting this one!
I have been (not so) patiently waiting for this sequel for the last few months... Surrender Your Love had a pretty wicked cliffhanger! I was so excited when I received an arc for this one, and let me tell you- it was better than the first!

Lets do a quick recap of book 1- Brooke is realtor, she isn’t into relationships, but she meets Jett Mayfield. Jett is irresistible. Rich, handsome, charming, the whole package. They do a ‘no strings attached’ relationship, but it starts to turn into something more. But Jett has been keeping a secret. Brooke doesn’t let him explain whats going on, she is hurt and upset. She just up and takes off...





Brooke knew she was making a mistake. She knew she shouldn’t have let herself fall for Jett. But she did, and now she is left heartbroken. She can’t confront Jett, so she and Sylvie pack up and head to Italy.



Jett is a wreck. He can’t let Brooke get away without getting a chance to explain. He has to find her. He will do whatever is necessary. After a lot of digging, his connection finds Brooke back in Italy. At the estate she is getting ready to inherit. Jett chases after her. He won’t let her go without a fight.

“It’s never over. Not until every fight has been lost. And for you, I’d fight.”

Brooke is shocked to see Jett turn up in Italy. She is not happy with him, but for some reason, she can’t stay away. Even though she’s hurt, her feelings are still there. Love, lust, danger. Jett will do whatever it takes to convince Brooke that he only has her best interests at heart. He convinces her to at least talk with him, hear him out, and she agrees.



Just ‘talking’ doesn’t last too long for these two. They have major chemistry. Brooke is starting to see that Jett really does have her best intentions at heart. He is concerned for her. I was so happy that Brooke didn’t spend the whole book closed off. She let Jett back in. She realizes love isn’t perfect, but that doesn’t mean its not true. I was proud of Brooke. She has never let herself fall for anyone before, and he lied to her and hurt her. I was glad Jett was able to prove himself to Brooke and she was able to move on with him.


He had destroyed and shattered my love only to conquer it again.

Rekindling their relationship isn’t the only obstacle these two have... Something is off with Brooke’s inheritance. She is in danger. Someone is after her or something in that house. It’s what Jett has been concerned about all along. There is still some mystery and suspense in this one, they are trying to figure out whats going on, all the while getting involved in car chases, robbery etc. Its got all sorts of action.

Now to Mr. Mayfield... Jett is sex on a stick. Seriously. I love this man! I could not get enough of Jett Mayfield in book one, and I couldn’t get enough of him either. Jett is the perfect package. Sweet, hot, swoony, sexy, dangerous, ah- how can you resist him??? Thats right, you can’t! Just like the first book, expect a lot of steam between Brooke and Jett. ;)
Jett has some swoonworthy lines in this one, he really wants Brooke to know how he feels about her, to show her how much he cares. He needs her. He can’t lose her again.



Lets sum it up:
Great heroine, sexy-swoony hero, hot sex, action, suspense, twists and turns- yep... this one has it all! Even though there are some major things that need to be addressed in the next book, there is NO cliffhanger, so thats is good. Looking forward to reading the final installment Treasure Your Love!

We pick right up where we left Jett and Brooke at the end of Surrender Your Love. Brooke is heartbroken – she feels Jett has played her and used her and utilised all the weapons in his sexual arsenal to get her to fall for him and it has all worked. She fell hard for him, she’s never felt this way about anyone before. It’s hard for her to trust but now she feels completely betrayed and is determined to put as much space between her and Jett as is physically possible and boards a plane right back to Italy.

Jett is also heartbroken at their split. His original plan may have been to play Brooke but he wasn’t banking on the intense feelings that she brought out in him and he hotfoots it to Europe, determined to explain himself and win her back.

“In Italy you don’t really say I miss you. People say ‘mi manchi’, which means ‘you are missing from me’. I feel that way, Brooke. Whenever you’re not around, I feel like a part of me is missing.”

Other factors are at play here – the mysterious Clarkson and his news for Brooke at the end of Surrender Your Love will have a far reaching influence over her in this book as her life is about to change radically and she finds herself in danger. Jett is beside himself at the threat to Brooke and will not allow her to keep the distance she is attempting to put between them and turns on the charm once again and Brooke is powerless to resist.

I so love Jett – on the surface he appears to be a clean cut business man but take off that suit and you will find some mysterious and seriously hot ink and a murky past that’s only partially revealed in this one. Both he and Brooke have had difficult childhoods and are reluctant to trust but they find something in one other really quite special here and I read with a big ole goofy grin as I watched their relationship rise once again from the ashes. I felt Brooke’s pain and heartbreak so much at the beginning but I was desperate for her to soften and accept Jett’s explanations and for them to rekindle that all-consuming passion they once shared.

Conquer Your Love is very much about the love story between Jett and Brooke with some seriously steamy sex scenes that we’ve come to expect now. The greater story, the mysterious inheritance all moves forward in this one but it’s not concluded as their story will continue in the next book, Treasure Your Love. So, while we don’t have a huge cliffhanger at the end of this one and the ending is actually all kinds of wonderful, you know that the threat remains and there is more to come.

This book had such potential. Adventure, mystery, weird old dude club, romances and on and on. And yet it fell so flat. I really dont get why it has such high ratings. None of the plot was worked out only more plot added. The end sucked. Too many loose ends that could have been been easily wrapped up. And Sylvie.....holy cow... I hope no one ever has a friend this silly and stupid. If so, NEVER, EVER take her to Italy!!!
Again we are left with yet another cliff hanger.....ARGGGGGGG!

I seem to be on a streak lately where I'm reading books that have weak, weak heroines and major douche bag men that we're supposed to find hot and sexy.



I'm also sitting here scratching my head, wondering if I read the same book as everyone else has that rated this book five stars....

First off - I skimmed through about 80% of this book, only slowing down to read dialogue in hopes that it would get better. That little miracle never came.



Jett & Brooke ...I'm still trying to figure out what it is exactly that caused them to fall in love?



I felt like I was reading a Home and Design magazine with how much description was provided about rooms and places that was so not necessary.

And the use of the word "HOLY"????? Holy this, holy that, holy blah blah blah...This seemed to be the only word in Brooke's vocabulary, and referring to herself in the third person when she did something stupid.



Jett was a jerk. There is no other way for me to sugar coat it but to just come out and say it.



Other issues I had with this story:
-plot was HORRIBLE (and to think there is a third installment coming out), story line was all over the map and back
-Sylvie (Brooke's best friend) was co-dependent, spoiled brat
-being reminded way too much how Brooke doesn't know how to cook (because we should care about this because....???)
-Feeling like I was watching an episode of McGuyver, Matlock, Law & Order, Scooby freaking Doo and a Nascar race all in one!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
-way, I mean WAY too much description of freaking Jett's body. We get it. He is hot. I just need for you to tell me once what he looks like and keep it moving.
-Brooke's obsession with Jett and Sylvie's bodies, yet we know nada about her other than that she has brown hair (why thanks for that bit of info)



And just to throw some salt in the wound - guess what? These two are having a freaking baby!!!!!????????/

After a month of waiting for this, I finally got to read this book, and it was awesome.
Amazing book, happy ending, but no closure; still a lot of loose ends.
Can't wait for the last book so they can have their HEA.

Sendo do género Romance Erótico já se sabe ao que se vem quando se vai ler este livro, que é a continuação da história do anterior e, por isso, não vos posso adiantar nada sem dar spoilers.
O livro não nos traz muitas novidades em relação aos outros deste género. No entanto, tem umas cenas de perseguição que foram muito bem conseguidas e tornaram a história bem mais interessante. O final e um acontecimento em particular foi, sinceramente, bastante previsível e isso foi para mim o maior ponto negativo do livro.
Estou bastante curiosa com alguns pontos que ficaram por explicar e algumas arestas que falta limar. Espero que tudo seja esclarecido no próximo e último livro da trilogia.
Recomendo a quem gostar do género, como leitura para descontrair. Até porque é relativamente pequeno e lê-se bem depressa.

This is the continuation of Surrender your Love which I really loved and you have to read that book first as Conquer your Love is not a standalone book.

Jett finally did it….he broke Brooke’s trust and in the process pushed her away. Too late he realizes how much she means to him and when he tries to see her again….she’s nowhere to be found!!!!!
He’s going to have to “grovel” big time…he has a big fight ahead of him.

This book is filled with suspense, mystery, action – car chases, suspicious gangsters, secret clubs…it has that and of course sexy and hot romance.

There are so many twists and turnsand you are surprised when some things are revealed that you never expected.and some more twists..... You think you have solved the clues…but then more surprises. Some mind-blowing secrets are in the open…how did I miss that one???? I was kept on the edge of my seat the entire time. Fast-paced..you bet!!!

I love this series and I am waiting for the next book…can’t come soon enough!!!

We left Surrender Your Love with a bit of a cliffy. The reveal that Jett had supposedly played Brooke had left her bereft, broken and damn right desolate. She had experienced a relationship like no other with Jett, and had subsequently fallen hard.

In Conquer, Brooke had set off to travel with her best friend Sylvie, who in her humorous, vivacious and larger than life way, made attempts to console Brooke. Her solution was to find a replacement PDQ .

It wasn’t long before Jett found & caught up with Brooke and started his attempt to convince her to give him a second chance. As the storyline progressed and issues arose, Jett was able to reveal how his involvement had been misinterpreted.

I thoroughly enjoyed catching up with Brooke and the green eyed god! This was a journey of discovery for both characters, and we have a better understanding of where Jett comes from and issues he has faced. Brooke learns to trust him, whilst falling hotly and helplessly in love! Who wouldn’t...after all Jett is a great talker!

There are plenty of interesting twists and turns, sprinkled with a bit of drama, leading into a very satisfying conclusion for now.

Looking forward to Treasure and rooting for their HEA..

But the way he smiled at me, and the way he cocked his head to the side expecting my reaction upon seeing him, reminded me that I was human. Weak. Prone to making mistakes. And I could only hope I wasn’t about to make yet another one. Because in the end, no matter how much I liked him, or he liked me, he was still Jett Mayfield.

I loved Surrender Your Love (Book 1 in the series) but Conquer Your Love blew my mind. I've been fawning myself, gushing over Jett, rooting for Brooke, and I had been wishing I was there along with them (in particular Jett!!! My Jett!). There're no words to express how much this book has affected me. It was hot, it was suspenseful, it was romantic, but most of all, it didn't let me go. There were both dark and light sides. Sides that made me laugh and sides that made me cry.

I feel compared to Surrender your Love, Conquer your Love focuses more on building a relationship between the two, the getting to know each other, solving the issues between them. If I wasn't sure about Jett in Surrender your love, in CYL I was convinced.The words flew really well and the passion between was so steamy and sexy, I forgot I was reading a book.




It has been a long time a book has done this: pulling at my heart strings and leaving me craving and wanting for more- for Jett, for their story to continue.

His smile returned with full force and brought with it the most gorgeous dimples. I held my breath as his mouth came closer. But instead of kissing me, he whispered in my ear, “I’m still thinking of you. Even though everything’s messed up, I still want you by my side. I still want to be with you, within you, inside you, hearing you panting my name.”



This book was hot. So hot, I still need a shower and I am fawning myself. There are no words to express how much I loved this book. The suspense, the chemistry, the passion between Jett and Brooke and the drama, the pain she goes through. I loved everything, even the sad (heart-wrenching) part that made me cry. It was amazing. The words flew so well and the passion was sexy, I forgot I was reading a book. It has been a long time a book has done this: pulling at my heart strings and leaving me craving, shocked and wanting, panting for more- for Jett, for their story to continue.

As though sensing my discomfort, Jett loosened his grip but didn’t let go of me. “I know you don’t trust me and I can’t blame you. I probably wouldn’t trust myself, but this is serious, Brooke. You don’t know what you’re getting yourself into.” His calm tone and sharp gaze sent a shiver down my spine.


I'm serious. I was blown away by this book and by the characters. Jett is like everything rolled all in once. He was pure awesomenesss!!!! I love him. I love him.



It was hard to figure him out, because he has so many sides and Conquer your love brings them all out. If I was stranded on some island, it's him I would definitely take with me. And now that the book has ended, I am thinking about them. about him, about how things continue. When I started this series, I wanted a simple romance book, but what I got was more: romance, passion, suspense. One of the best books I have read about love, loss and learning to trust. Yeah!!! Gimme me more!

Brittany's Review: 4 Stars!

We all know that I was pissed when I found out that Jett and Brooke's story wasn't going to end in Surrender Your Love. But, I will be the first to admit that I am THRILLED that is didn't.

J.C. Reed 100% delivered with Conquer Your Love.

I never expected her to throw at me a romance AND a thriller/mystery. Yeah, who knew?! I'm off work for the next two weeks so I was so happy I was able to read this in one sitting as my mind would have been running with crazy possibilities for what would happen. Even thought she does make us wait for the third book, and there are definitely quite a few unanswered questions, you do get a pretty swoon worthy ending in this book. I'm still smiling!

"And Brooke, I'm hurting all over for you, baby. You owe me the real deal and I'm going to take it. Running from me isn't going to help you because I've never been a quitter."

Moving on to Brooke...I have a little bit of a hard time relating to her, but her relationship with Jett is down right steamy! Jett was half asshole, half amazing in the first book. In Conquer Your Love, you straight up want to marry him and have a million of his babies. He is just the right amount of loving, protective, and dominate all wrapped up in his hot body with dark hair and green eyes. :) Yeah, he definitely won me over, but there is still an allusion of mystery around him that makes me slightly nervous...

"Because I should have told you before, when you would've still believed me. And I should have told you as often as I could so you'd never forget."

As if we needed more hot men, we also get introduced to hottie recluse friend Kenny and continue to have comic relief from Sylvie. Yeah, I'm definitely looking forward to book three with all these characters. Conquer Your Love definitely brightened my Monday :)

The Mystery over Brooke's estate she is inheriting definitely has me curious. There are a lot of different ways this could play out and I'm super excited to see what types of twists Reed comes up with. Be sure to bump this one up in your TBR because you won't be disappointed.

I loved the first book in this series so of course I pre-ordered this one. Jett Mayfield is a pretty hot book boyfriend and I wanted to see more of that wild connection. Something about this book just felt very different than the first one though.

I understand that there needs to be conflict and I welcome it, but this time around it seemed too drawn out and a bit on the angsty side which I am not a fan of. After Sookie Stackhouse my angst tolerance is pretty much blown.

Here's where the spoiler comes in: I absolutely hate it when characters get pregnant in my romance novels. Not only does she get pregnant (accidentally) very early into their relationship, but when she tells him he's overjoyed. What? Why? I couldn't see any reason why that should have been true for his character. Everything we've seen about his history says that he kept great distance emotionally and put time limits on his physical encounters. Yes, he has fallen in love this time and things are different but there's just no reason why he shouldn't have been freaking out.

Anyway, that's my personal pet peeve. I also noticed about 20 typos where the wrong form of a word was used, the entirely wrong word was used or something was misspelled. It wasn't so bad that I couldn't get into the book but it was still annoying. The book needs another round of editing.

I'm still deciding whether or not I'll read the third installment when it comes out. Probably not with the whole pregnancy thing. Bleh.

Conquer Your Love starts off right where Surrender Your Love left off. If you haven’t read book one in this series, you need to before starting this one!


I LOVE me some Jett Mayfield !!!!!

“I'd do anything for you. You know that?" he whispered into my ear. "If you fell, I'd hold you. If you were afraid, I'd wrap my arms around you and take away your fears. I'd die to keep you safe but more than anything I'd do whatever it takes to keep you by my side. For you I'd conquer anything, everything, anytime.”

Brooke is shocked when Jett shows up in Italy. As mad as she is at him, her body tries to get her to cave into him. She agrees to meet with Jett and let him explain things to her. After all he is only trying to protect her.

I LOVE how Jett and Brooke did not just jump right back into things once he found her. I love how their relationship built up more in this one to the point where it is now.

I Love Brooke for her hesitation on things. I love how she can read Jett and knows when not to push him to answer questions or to talk. She truly is starting to understand him more.

“I'm still thinking of you. Even though everything's messed up, I still want you by my side. I still want to be with you, within you, inside you, hearing you panting my name.”

I LOVE how Jett treats Brooke in this book. His love is truly shown throughout the whole story. I am glad that he finally opened up some to her and she understands him a lot better now.

"The hardest part was acknowledging I might never see you again. Realizing how much you mean to me and how much I'd miss your pretty face every morning and night. Realizing all the things I didn't do with you and might never get a chance to. But I think most of the pain came from the realization that the time we spent together was not enough for me and I couldn't force you to feel the same.”

There will be a book 3 Treasure Your Love. I am sure we will get all the answer's we so desire about the estate and everything around it.

This book does NOT end in a cliffhanger. It ends on a good note for sure.

Definitely better than the first book. I actually was much more into the story. However the mystery aspect isn't what I was looking to read, so I really wish that had been more prevalent in the blurb about the book. I thought I was picking up another contemporary romance, I did not expect it to turn into a murder mystery.

I'm really uncertain about Sylvie. The way I read her, I'm certain she has something to do with the bad guys, but the letter from the author says the character is based on her best friend which is someone she greatly admires, so I just don't think that the character is written very well if she's meant to be one of the good guys.

And yet again, we are really given absolutely no idea about anything about Jett. He gives us little bits and then turns cold again. Sorry, but her whole "he'll open up to me when he's ready" mind frame just doesn't work for me.

And then Brooke. I just don't get her. She makes little to no sense to me and I just don't care all that much either way for her.

Oh, and btw...if you are doing all this private investigating and have suspicions about something going on, WHY would you leave ALL your evidence and information in the obvious place that is what you're curious about to begin with? Why wouldn't you keep the book on you? Or take the disc you JUST MADE with you for safe keeping since you're just going in a car? Or why hadn't you kept the financial reports on you to take to your accountant while you were making the inquiry at the bank? Why not take them with you to leave in your safe deposit box at the bank if nothing else? There was just a lack in thought and creativity there that made me disappointed and felt the characters deserved that if they were dumb enough to leave everything they had in the house. The house which is where they knew people were watching? You felt it necessary to buy and carry a gun with you, but you didn't see a point in making sure the files that actually mattered were well protected?

Clearly we weren't given any real answers in this book, so obviously I will have to buy book 3 in order to figure anything out.

3·5. I waited so long for this sequel. It took me a while to get through this book. A bit disappointed that it lacked the angst I love so much in the first book. that being said, the romantic scenes were hot and read worthy. here's to waiting for yet another sequel.

Now I will start here, if you have not read Surrender Your Love.. Read it before you read this. This book picks up right where we left off...

I finished Surrender your love and I was crushed. My ❤was broken. Although I still loved Jett & Brooke.
I wanted him to fix it- make it right!
Book two..could not get here fast enough.

Can Jett win Brooke's heart? Can he ever get her faith and trust back?
Brooke has taken off to Italy with Sylvie. (Crazy BFF and partner in crime) She is going to find out about her inheritance and mend her broken heart. If that is even possible.

"Not only did I realize that love can grow in the absence of the person you love, but so does the pain resulting from a broken heart."

Jett knows what is gone. He just does not know how to get her back, could she trust him again? He wants her! He needs her! He will do whatever it takes to win her heart back, although he needs to find her in order to do this.. She is gone!

He is busy trying to find her.
(He gets a bit of help finding her.. Whoa! Added extra bonus and score. Go Sylvie- haha!)

Jett and Brooke once again sizzle the pages. I was caught up in the story from page one to the end.. At which point I wanted MORE!
Jett stole my heart in book one, lost it and in book two reclaimed it fiercely! His words, his sexy smirk.. Omg the dirty talk.
J.C. Reed wrote a character with such charisma .. I don't think anyone could resist him.
He is persistent in his affection for Brooke. Brooke tries to resist.. Can she? Could you? Plus let's be real she is in love with him. We all know it, we just need her heart to heal enough to realize it.

"He was the first man to create so much contradiction inside me: love and hate. Lust and contempt."

Is Jett the bad guy? Is the danger there? You must read this, get caught up in the story and mystery. Fall in love .. Will you be able to resist the sexy as sin man named Jett?

Unfortunately, I was hoping for more. I enjoyed the first book, Surrender Your Love, and the twist in that was pretty great, but this book just fell flat. The grammar was a bit shoddy and the same words or phrases were used frequently, or overly dramatized descriptions were used ("...taking us to a place where love could light up the sky and nothing was broken", or "You smell so good. Like wild roses in a warm summer night's breeze." I mean, really?); it just took me out of the story. And I get that Jett is hot. Every time Brooke would see him, we'd get the rigmarole about his body and his eyes, yada, yada... for real, let's move on. Her inner-monologues by the way, were rather tedious. She analyzed and questioned things ad nauseum, and generally said the same thing in a slightly different way. Again, move it along.

One of the biggest issues I had with the story was the continuation of the relationship between Brooke and Jett (and given that this is romance story at the heart, is probably a big issue to have). At the end of Surrender Your Love, they had broken up. Rather emotionally. He had betrayed her trust in a big way. For 33% of the book, Brooke was adamant about taking a break from Jett. And then, he called her. And she was all touching herself to his voice and directives over the phone! Really? I don't know how other women are when their lying ex-boyfriends call, but it usually doesn't get me excited... in any way. To make it even more confusing, right after she um... finished, she was going to send him a text that said, "Don't get your hopes up. I'm never sleeping with you again." Pretty misleading, wouldn't you say? I don't know - I just know what it's like to be heartbroken; chemistry or not, this isn't something you would typically do, and given Brooke's state-of-mind at that time, I don't think it was in her character to do so. Shortly, after that, they had sex and... well, you know how these things go. Charm and sweet words were thrown all over the place, and they were together once again.

Eh, I just wasn't a big fan. And I have more questions now than actual answers. We'll see what the next book holds, I guess.

D.N.F. - I am def. in the minority with this series.

I made it about half way through this book and just couldn't finish it. The number of inconsistencies from the first book, things like names which really should be double checked and I've listed below, was atrocious and I was surprised to see that this had been professionally edited because there were errors on every page.

Besides that, I had several other problems with the story but mainly I just could not connect with the characters or care about their story enough to continue. I never felt any real connection between Jett and Brooke, just surface feelings. Nothing deep and no reasoning behind their 'love.'

The plot and dialog was incredibly choppy as well, jumping from one thought or perspective to the next with each new sentence. And Brooke's supposed best friend, Sylvie, was just horrific. I don't think I've ever read a character, including evil villains, that I disliked as much as her.

The whole book just fell flat for me and I've tried really hard to find something that I liked in it but unfortunately, I can't. :(

DNF...and I do NOT do this often but, damn!! JC Reed: GET A GRIP AND A PROOFREADER!!! who the "eff" is CAMERON??!?! I coulda sworn Brooke's ex in Surrender was SEAN??!?!!! Brooke needs an exorcism, by the way. wish/wash, flip/flop, don't believe in love/imagining marrying Jett. STUPID.

I really don't need to be reminded every single time Brooke looks at Jett that his 6'2". I haven't forgotten, ok?? shoulda spent a little more time describing Brooke so I could get an actual visual picture. brown curly hair, brown eye, boobs that could use a padded bra in book 1 but were considered heavy lifting in book 2, and short legs could be Rhea Pearlman for all I know. and the poor freak only owns knee-length pencil skirts at age 23??? wow.

I could go on but why waste anymore of my time on this series that should have been shelved instead of published.

THIS WAS FANTASTIC!!! I mean I loved the first one, but I thoroughly enjoyed this one... Not to mention a couple of scenes where I literally had to wait for someone to come home so I wasn't alone in the dark, so I could finish reading it.

This was a hot and steamy read. A mysterious read. And just crazy!!!

Before you read this, Conquer Your Love is Book 2 in the Surrender Your Love Series and you MUST read book 1 first before.

Holy Moley Batman (haven't said that since I was 5)....I LOVE JC's Books

When I got my ARC (Thanks to JC) I'm pretty positive I looked like this....


OK, so now...about the book.

Conquer Your Love starts off right where Surrender Your Love left off. So we don't miss a beat. Jett Mayfield, the CEO of one of the most successful real estate companies is in desperate need to find Brooke, the ex-assistant/heiress of the building that brought them together and started the whole debockle (is that how you spell it).

I swear JC leaves me a rambling mess of excitement.

I was so freaking turned on in this book, I thought my panties were going to goPOOF right off my body. I mean, Jett..WHOA MOMMA, Can I get some!!!

So back to the story. There was so much action that I swear, Bruce Willis should be in the book. This isn't just your ordinary love story. There's car chases, guns, secret clubs and so on. I mean come on..How freaking awesome to have all of that in there on top of some of the hottest sex scenes EVER!

After Brooke found out that Jett only got to meet her because he knew she was going to go inherit the Lucazzone, she left him. Well, she freaking left the country. Leaving for Italy to check out the estate...she had no idea what was in store for her. Dealing with the depression of Jett, the man she loved breaking her heart..she had no idea that the same man was also the man to save her life. She battles in the beginning half of the book about her feelings...can she love a man who broke her heart?

"When you reach the top the only way is down. You're my peak and I don't want to plummet into the depth awaiting me when we're done"

She scared...Jett is a super hot, rich, CEO...what could he want with Claire? That's what is constantly running through her head, well....Jett is a super amazing man..AMAZING. He's sexy, dominant, protective and caring. He will do anything for Brooke...the woman he loves



"Maybe you think I want what others want, but thats not the case.  I'm looking for things that matter. Things I can hold and treasure forever.  I think you're worth holding onto Brooke. And that's worth more in time to come than anything you think might be of importance"



I love him...I seriously love him. He was a mess when Brooke left...poor baby.

HOLY SWOON!!!  Jett is super super sweet. He knows he messed up and should have told Brooke awhile ago the truth. He has a past that he doesn't talk about but to prove to Brooke that he is worth it, he starts to open up and we get see what going on in the sexy head of his.  He always has the right things to say....Ugh I love Jett

"I don't want someone who's perfect because I'm not perfect.  I want someone who's real; someone who complements me rather than completes me."

Come on now...who wouldn't fall head over heels in love with this man?!? Without giving away any spoilers...this is a MUST read. There is never a dull moment and there is a twist that actually made me laugh because of the way JC gave the information which made me love this book even more..I did NOT expect that to happen at all...she really keeps us on out toes. She makes every character lovable, including the two friends in the series. Sylvie is simple amazing and I want someone like her as my friend.

JC will not dissappoint you in this second installment of the Surrender Your Love series...I loved it and can't wait for the final book Treasure Your Love which is coming soon!! YAY

Jett and Brooke conquered their love together. The journey that takes them to where they are now is both exhilirating and moving. It shows that sometimes what we see is not always what is real. There is always things lurking in the shadows that we are unable to see because we are blinded by fear and lies.

“Love happens in.the blink of an eye. One moment your heart is yours, and the next it belongs to someone you never intended to give it to. There is no transition. No earning on his part. Just foolish trust and hope for a future of happiness and emotional fulfillment. As much as we all hope for a happily ever after, life doesn’t work that way”

I love the uncontrollable desire that they both possess for one another. They cant control it so to be honest, they dont even try to because they know that they will always find their way to each other no matter what happens.

“In Italy you don’t really say I miss you. People say ‘mi manchi’, which means ‘you are missing from me.’ I feel that way, Brooke. Whenever you’re not around, I feel like a part of me is missing.”

I love how its set in Italy, it brings a whole other dimension in their romance. In addition to this, the estate that she is inehriting sounds absolutely beautiful. The inagery in the book adds to the story and the mystery behind the estate as well.

There are many things to be learned from this book. The outstanding one being 'Never fear falling in love' . The whole book revolves around the fear that Brooke has of their relationship not working out because that is all she has seen and known as none of her relationships have worked out. Nor does she have good examples as her parents, Jetts parents, are all seperated by death, or betrayal. In her opinion, something always takes people away from each other which I can totally relate to.

“I hated him, loved him, wanted him, and yet I wished him away. So many conflicting emotions of wants and needs. So much fear. Not because of him, but because of myself—of how deep my feelings and desires were running, and how much I would fall if I happened to lose my grip.”

The book was written very well and although it is fiction, the storyline was very real. I was so absorbed up in the book because of the amazing plot and the mystery has me intrigued.

“In the stream of life, I’ll always search for you. As time goes by, you’ll always be on my mind”

I cant wait for the next book as I am sure there are many more difficulties that Jett and Brooke are going to face and conquer. Because in the end, they will surely find their way to one another. Always.

Dropped to 3.5 stars, purely on that fact that this is now a trilogy. I wouldn't have started reading these till I knew all parts were out. Authors please start thinking of your target audience and their satisfaction. We are aware that this may be your living but keeping readers in the loop is far more beneficial than peeing us off when we're reading books that don't have a conclusion and we are not being warned of that fact. It's like buying an ice cream and the vendor saying oh you'll have to come back for the topping when I've decided what I can offer. Would you still want to buy the ice cream - NO! There's so many books that are series, trilogies now that our minds are melting in between, it's got to be a damn fine trilogy to keep us engaged and a quick turn around in between releases, or advising at book 1 that it's part 1 of how many - and this just doesn't seem to be happening any more, it's getting to be a nightmare.

So I had reservations and mentioned in my review of book 1 that I hoped this didn't get drawn out into several books and got concluded in book 2. Well imagine my complete disappointment when I get to the end of book 2 and see the dreaded message that this will conclude in book 3! So we started this story in Surrender you love and there was absolutely no mention of a trilogy and I am really displeased that this is now the case. I can't deny this has a hot cover, but the story has weakened and the claws have rescinded and I was gutted it didn't finish in this book, so will I buy book 3, truthfully I really don't know.

The story is still good but I feel it's lost some of it's grip. I felt book 1 was far more intense than this book, the plot and the twist was clever in book 1 but in book 2 it pales in comparison. I feel that book 2 has been a bit of a filler to draw their story out longer, it could have had an explosive conclusion and been amazing now I fear about the content of book 3, will it too be too drawn out or full of the inheritance and the secret surrounding Alessandro and Robert and keep us completely enthralled. This didn't have the momentum of book 1 nor the suspense or intrigue that kept me glued in Surrender Your Love. I don't think the plot advanced on enough, very little actually happened, I didn't find the trip to Italy and meeting Alessandro feeling quite right either. She goes all that way to meet him and only meets him once? Hmmmm.......

So all in all I was disappointed in the content of this book, I was so hoping for a killer finale but it didn't happen, so as I said it's left me uncertain of how book 3 will pan out. The story was clever and great, but it's now only good and I worry that I can't see it clawing it's way back up to being on par with book 1.

Jett and Brooke find their way back to us in the Conquer Your Love, the follow up book to Surrender Your Love, and it was nothing less than spectacular to find these two again! Sometimes you don't realize how much you missed that first book until the sequel comes out and blows you away. You remember every nuance of that first book that captured your heart and remembered the agony and love you felt for that first book. Conquer Your Love is absolutely no exception. This book had me from the first page and I couldn't put it down.

J.C. Reed does it again with these two characters and this story just gets better and better the more you read. It was gripping and sexy and I was on edge wondering what was going to happen for this dynamic duo. Could love indeed conquer all? Or are Brooke's defenses too high now that she knows the truth?

I still love Brooke, though now that her defenses are somewhat worn down, she seems like she is not quite as indestructible as she was in the first novel. She still has a strong mind and a body to totally betray her wishes by begging for her desires. And Jett... I think I just adore him after this one. I thought he was fabulous in the first one, but again, his determination is just amazing. He know exactly what he wants but this time, he is going to do whatever it takes to protect it once he has it.

The desires are there, the plot is there, the hot alpha male is there... and so, so, so much more! I think I loved this book even more than the first one. If I could give this 10 stars, it would get them in a heartbeat. I just cannot get enough of these books and as I have discovered, that says so much about the author's ability to keep me captivated.

Yes, I am going to tell you that I cannot wait for the next book, but not for the reason I typically give. Though I feel that there is so much more to Brooke and Jett's story, I did not feel like I was left hanging at the end of the book. But instead this time, I am left wanting more because I want to know what is going to happen next with the estate, the book, the drama... J.C. Reed has done it again and it has left me longing for more!

Conquer Your Love is a fantastic follow-up novel and I just could not get enough!
