Excellent book

Very thorough book especially explaining how the war started which was full of complexity. Very factual and informative. Very sobering.

Bought this for my cousin who is currently studying the First World War and he loves it. It presents the more complicated aspects of the war in a student-friendly way and is split into easy bite-size chunks. The author has clearly put a lot of thought and research into this book - a must read for students!

I enjoyed reading this concise history of World War 1. Rather than concentrating on a particular campaign or theatre of war this book provides a diverse overview of WW1 from the causes to the final outcomes.
