Designed to give students a deep understanding of the central topics of introductory biology, E. O. Wilson’s Life on Earth is a captivating iBooks Textbook presented as a seven-unit collection. In this first unit, we explore the unity of life by examining the shared features of all living things, inherited from a universal common ancestor. In addition, we look at the evolutionary mechanisms that—over the course of 3.5 billion years—created the countless species and forms of life that populate our diverse living planet. Each unit of the engagingly interactive E. O. Wilson’s Life on Earth features video, photo galleries, and Multi-Touch images and illustrations that inspire students to study, enjoy, and help protect the wonders of life on Earth.

He is a Humanist Laureate of the International Academy of Humanism.
This is a very good introduction to biology with excellent illustrations and media content. It is also about 1.5 gb, so make sure you have the space for it and a lot of patience for the download. Oh yeah, and it's free. Can't beat that.
An amazing book, it is well written, everything is cleverly presented and illustrated with photos, videos and variety of interactive options. The book guides the reader starting with the fundamentals of chemistry to advanced explanations of the evolution theory in a coherent and organized manner.
This book is amazing with well-orginized information and many visual-aid materials which help you learn a lot and not get bored by reading it.
After reading this book I feel a sense of responsibility to protect the environment as much as I can. We take it for granted for so long without stopping for a second and asking why.
A very good book I would recommend it to anyone who’s interested in this blue planet called Earth. Very interesting to have around with you even if you are old or small it’s very interesting and fun to read. 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
So I read this while revisiting Ridley Scott’s Alien movies (“nothing is as terrifying as the fear of the unknown”) and trying to figure out how did LUCA (the Last Universal Common Ancestor) come to be (needless to say I'm still trying to figure that out). Quite a journey...
Anyway, this book provides a very nice introduction to Biology (and some Chemistry) and revealed some questions I didn't even know I had. Plus, interactive content. 😍🍎
This book was a nice general science review. I’ve been out of school for a very long time and it was nice going over the basics of science in an entertaining way that included words, pictures, videos, quizzes, and interactive pictures. I’m looking forward to reading more in the series.
A very beautiful textbook I would recommend it if you’re on a course or if you’re just interested in learning about the things in life. Five ⭐️ ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
