He wants to go all in, but she still wants to play the field.

Getting out of rehab is supposed to be a new beginning, but for Brooke Rhodes it's more about endings. After her dad fires her from the only job she's ever had managing his smoothie shop, Brooke finds her college degree in American Studies isn't useful in gaining any serious prospects for employment. When she's forced to give up her apartment and her parents refuse to take her in Brooke has only one place to go.

She moves to Scottsdale, Arizona to live with her best friend, Harper Leigh, and Harper's rock star boyfriend and his bandmates. Living with a rock band isn't exactly what the doctor ordered for staying clean and sober. And it doesn't help that the band's guitar player, Leo Donovan, wants a repeat performance of the one-night stand they had months ago. But staying straight will mean staying as far away from the band as possible and keeping Leo out of her life.

Good main characters who we met in book one as secondary ones. Leo and Brooke were given real problems that real people can identify with. I certainly could.

Good series!

Sweet man-child rockstar rescues his wild child girl
I jumped at the chance to read and review Sometimes Brooke because I had read the first book in the series (Always Rayne) and enjoyed it. This book focuses on Leo, the guitarist of Always Rayne, and Brooke, the best friend of Harper, the female lead of the first book. Leo and Brooke had a one-night stand that left Leo wanting more. Brooke has several issues, including being an alcoholic just out of rehab. Broke and without prospects she moves in with Harper and the rest of the band in Rayne’s mansion. She’s probably a sex addict in addition to be an alcoholic since she uses anonymous one-night stands as a way of forgetting her issues and dealing with life. For these reasons, she has zero self-esteem and doesn’t think she is someone anyone would want. Obviously, Leo disagrees. Leo is a typical rock star man-child and he pursues her. I love his written note & flower asking her for a date. Of course, they end up in bed almost immediately.

Things go along fairly well with Brooke & Leo spending a lot of time together and it seems like Brooke is finally starting to develop some self-worth. When Leo does something permanent to declare his love for her, she can’t handle it and runs off to the nearest bar seeking an anonymous one-night stand because that’s how she always dealt with her problems. Of course, the whole gang goes looking for her to rescue her and then another crisis happens. It’s Leo’s sweet response to that crisis that makes this book warm your heart.

The book does seem to end somewhat abruptly. It’s very short and I feel that there was enough material for several more pages. There is no cliffhanger for Brooke & Leo, just a nice and sweet HEA. There is a cliffhanger about Raven that sets up the next book.

I received a copy of this book in exchange for a review.

This is the first book I've read my Sierra and am looking forward to reading more.
I loved Brooke and Leo. Their dynamic was unlike anything that I've read in a while. Brooke just got out of rehab...for multiple addictions. With her sense of humor, you don't know if she's serious or joking half the time, but it made the character more realistic and likable. Leo might not be the sharpest tool in the shed, but he has a huge heart and is loyal to a fault.
In Leo's mind, Brooke is the one that got away. He comes off as cocky and arrogant at first, but we soon learn of his vulnerable side. Brooke doesn't want to get involved and is actually afraid of relapse, but she's got a soft spot for Leo that she just doesn't want to admit to. These 2 are perfectly imperfect and fit beautifully together.
I was surprised at how much of a page turner this one was. I was sorry to see it end, and I was left wishing it didn't. If you're on the fence about the book or series, pick it up. You won't be disappointed.

Sometimes Brooke is the second book in the Always Sometimes Never series by Sierra Avalon. It can be read as a stand alone, but I would highly recommend reading Always Rayne. It will give you a greater understanding of the characters featured in this story.

This book takes off where Always Rayne left off. Brooke Rhodes has just gotten out of rehab and has had her entire world turned upside down. She moves to Arizona to live with her best friend Harper Leigh and her rockstar boyfriend. This also means she will be living with his band mates as well, which includes guitarist Leo Donovan. Leo is determined to have another chance with Brooke and doesn't grasp the concept of what a one night stand is meant to be.

This book has great chemistry between the characters. It shows the struggle one must go through to overcome their past. It captured my attention from the start and kept me wanting more. I can't wait to read book 3 in this series!

This book was hard for me to rate. I love parts of it and others not so much. I read this book because I did like Always Rayne more, but to be honest I think my issue with both of the books is that I don't love the characters. Sure I like them but I am not crazy about them.

Leo is sweet, but is in love wit Brooke so quickly and lets be honest, she has some serious issues. Brooke has issues and really needs to work through them. I was looking forward to that and how Leo might help her. However, they don't really do so and then she is planning on naming the baby after her father even though he cut her out of there lives and didn't even visit her in the hospital and protective Leo is okay with this. It was just hard to believe.

Just not a story I loved and won't buy the next one because I care 0% for Raven.

4 SOLID STARS

I waited forever for Leo and Brooke story, really for more of one of my favorite band mates. Where to begin but say Leo was a sweetheart, so confused but knew without a doubt Brooke was his "it girl". Not to be deterred by her put offs or "just sex" comments he showed he was there for the long haul. Being her crutch, sound board, knight in black boots on a bike, and confiding companion.

Sierra, you nailed it. One-liners, jokes, love, lust, and emotional dialogue. I was not disappointed and can't wait until Xander and Raven.

I absolutely loved this book and fell in love with the characters! I read it in less than one day, I just couldn't put it down. Brooke and Leo both have troubled pasts and a lot of baggage but have an attraction for each other that neither can deny. This steamy romance definitely deserves 5 stars!! Can't wait for the next book to come out.

Brooke just go out of rehab. She is going to stay with her friend Harper and who has offered her work as her assistant. Unfortunately Leo who is the guitarist in Harper's boyfriends band is staying at the house too. There is a mutual attraction between Leo and Brooke, but Brooke is not willing to leave her wild side behind. Can Leo show her she is worthy of his love?

Wow,WOW,wow

I received this book as an ARC for my honest review. Wow, this a great book. There is a lot of baggage between Leo's past and Brooke's current life and rehab. Where she had to face a lot of truths about who she really is and why she is so wild, and troubled. It takes a great guy like Leo to help her see how beautiful and worthy of love she is.

This book is book 2 of a series but can be read as a stand alone.

Brooke is dealing with addiction and the author does a great job of portraying the subject. I also liked how she wrote about Leo and Brooke's relationship.

This a good read for anyone looking for a good rock romance.

I found the book to be enjoyable but I didn't like the way it ended I felt like she just cut off and then oh hey let's time jump into a have a random happy ending. I felt like there was more that we were missing out on cause of that. But over all it was an ok book. I read it in about 2 hours so it's a easy fast read.
